redsun: Apart from global warming and rogue regimes like north korea, islam is the only other apparent threat to humanity. But with genuine worldwide drive against abject poverty and ignorance, the gullible might be set free from the hooks of islamism Global warming is not a threat. It is just another sequence in the evolution trend. North Korea is not a threat to humanity. It is just a threat to countrys that believe north Korea is a threat. China, India, Russia, that made up more than 2/5 of the world population doesnt see North Korea as a threat. U can believe what CNN and BBC tells, cos u got no brain for yourself. In as much as you guys detest and hate Islam and the followers of Islam, there is nothing much your hate can do. The followers of this religion will forever fight for their identity. They are not gullible, naive and coward to be push around. |

naijatoday: Fanatism: Bauchi Govt imposes curfew on Bauchi metropolis
The Bauchi State governor, Isa Yuguda, on Sunday imposed a curfew on Bauchi metropolis following the invasion of the state capital by a group opposed to western education.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the group had on Saturday attacked a police station at Dutsen Tanshi area of the metropolis, which led to the death of more than 30 members of the group.
Speaking to newsmen on Sunday in Bauchi, Mr. Yuguda said that the imposition of the curfew became necessary to avoid further havoc on innocent persons.
Mr. Yuguda who said that the curfew would begin from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., everyday, appealed to residents to cooperate with government so as to ensure the protection of lives and property.
He said that the activities of the group known as "Haram Boko," was a threat to the whole nation.
"This is a threat. The emergence of a group that is trying to threaten the survival of our people.
"The arrest of the people is something that we should celebrate and it should be replicated in all the cities.
"Anywhere you see somebody who is trying to use sentiments or religion in order to take lives of innocent people, we must do something.
"The primary responsibility of government is to protect lives and property. If government cannot protect lives and property, then it has failed in its duties.
According to him: "We are happy, we had pre-empted them. We have held the bull by the horns and succeeded in getting them."
Mr. Yuguda urged religious and opinion leaders in the state to assist government in its efforts to ensure a crime-free state.
http:///csp/cms/sites/Next/Home/5438911-146/Fanatism:_Bauchi_Govt_imposes_curfew_on.csp The primary aim of goverment is to provide good governance. This is just the beginning, with large percentage of ppl in Northern Nigeria without acess to education we are going to expect more than this. The policies of the government have failed over time. They have failed to provide education and job our people, and you dont expect people to live ideal. They have to find a way to use their intellects. Humans are generall intelligent. The idea of government is to harness the human intellegence and use it to better the society. When all their programmes are aim towards alienating the majority poor people, deny them acess to education, better life, of course they will take up arms against the government. As far as many people in the north are concern, they hav no linkage with the government |

oyinda.: like i said, men don't usually run to village to marry. the only time i see men running to village is to look for househelp for their wives who have day jobs. and i don't agree with u that they like to flaunt their success. i mean men are still overall more successful than women. so what is there to flaunt?
soooo not true @ the bolded part. They usually ask me foolish questions like "will you let your husband marry a second wife" "do african men really say "hey woman where is my dinner" Yes i had an american friend ask me that question once when i made some food and shared with him. i felt like kicking him out of my room lol but i'm sure it was a joke. a lot of americans are liberal and really do believe in equality for both sexes. some feminists are very extreme in their thinking though and most men won't agree with that. even most women don't agree with that.
are you talking about a beyonce song? lol yeh, they do ask the same question. But to be honest with you, I think because they think you are a woman. But white ppl are the most hypocritical ppl I ever met. They think carefully before talking. They are not used to talking like our ppl, so they are very cautious. But i tell you, many will want to have a woman just stay at home. No going to work. My German friend once told me he wish he was an Arab. |

C2H5OH: Tsiya, I think the problem is that the new breed of women of this new era don't want to take care of you and the family in the ways that they used to. They are now more interested in competing with the men in the workforce, instead of diverting that energy to looking after the home like their mothers and foremothers did.
It would be awesome if they can somehow find a way to compile the two. You are right about that. I have noticed that, some men, among the white, hate the idea of marrying a woman absolved in her career. But they are afraid to talk about because of fear of being label "Women hater". But when u sit down with them and start discussing marriage, they guys have the same mentality with a typical Arab man. But in the case of our African sisters, they just flaunt their success too much. They wont mind to tell you who they are, once they are angry. All you need to do is start relationship with one of them, then just for the sake of investigatio, try to annoy the girl. What do you think she say -"How dare you do that to me" "Do you think I'm that cheap" "I hav my job and I can take of you", blah blah, She will even start singing Destinys Child Song for you. What is the name of that song? |

C2H5OH: The ultimate solution is to find a woman who isn't necessarily a subservient sheep, but one who is not gonna bark about taking care of you n the family but that is in our DNA. That is what make us "MAN". We have to take care of the family. The women of today, want to that. Not only the family, but they want to take care of you. Make decisions for you. |

well Im not an Egusi or Amala eater, neither to I like the stuff. If it is food, as for me, I dont have problem with their food. But my problem, the way some African girls talk about being liberated, emancipated and all these women right or equality, scares the shit out many men. They grew up cn their mama dey respect their papa. All of a sudden, they become champions of Feminine agenda. Most of them, will have a closed mind to the whole idea of equality of man and woman, and they will begin to expect that we shall be submissive to them. oyinda.: yea i was contesting whether or not to put decent between quotation marks in the last post. u never know what they really mean by "decent." and all u can do i wonder what the motives are. village girls are usually synonymous with ignorant, uneducated. someone you can easily take advantage of. The idea of getting a village girl is not just being to get an ignorant and uneducated woman. Most of the village girls are educated and enlightened. The only diffeence the have not learn this shit called equality of man and woman. Where an African woman, will expect her husband to enter kitchen, just as she read, or see in some the white people house. But they tend to forget that most of these houses, the marriages are not for a long time. The white can divorce, seperate, go for some stupid counselling, but as for us, in most cases, once you get married, u are just married. Shikenan. |

Negro_Ntns: Intellectuals do not open their questions and challenges with vulgarity on the opponent. I don't know about where you come from. . .but Yoruba culture teaches me to seek understanding through clarity, not confrontation. There is a time and place for understanding and there is a separate time and place for aggression. . .intellectual discussion is not for aggression. Approach intellectually and you will get an intellctual response. . .otherwise I push my ignore button on you. Why u dey form now. U learn this from Oyinbo people. Yoruba culture teaches to believe without clarity. U are not to question the elders. Total submission. There is nothing like understanding in the Yoruba dictionary |

oyinda.: the writer does speak for a lot of nigerian women abroad. like i mentioned earlier, a friend's friend of my mom was giving me a ride home and in their discussion they were planning to arrange a husband from home for a daughter here. she was complaining about lack of nigerian husband after finishing med school. so i know the situation is real. if the situation is real. What do u think we shall do, so that the daughter of your mum wont feel the same. |

oyinda.: are they international students? otherwise, they're not going anywhere. they're just forming. at best they will marry oyinbo husbands and wives if they don't find the naija ones decent enough for them. You know sometimes the idea of decent wife itself is just a joke. Some men are the worst kind of human beings you will ever meet, but when it come to marriage, they will say they want only a decent girl. Negro_Ntns: I see. Some of the women abroad are from village too. Their eyes don open enh? Not their eyes is open. . . . they are not just trusted. They are unpredictable |

yeh, but that is the general attitude of many Nigerians. Even in Nigeria, most usually go back to their village or somewhere close to their village and get married.
This is common among the people from the south. They always go back to their village. |

This is indeed true.
Some few weeks back I was discussing marriage with some f Nigerian students 5 guys and 3 girls (in UK). All the guys are talking about going home, to their village, to get a decent wife. The girls didnt say anything . . . I wonder how they feel about . . ., but one of the girls had the courage to say she is going back home to get married as well. |
