Politics › Re: Seun, Why Allow BOTS Take Over This Forum? by Ttalk: 3:21pm On Oct 09, 2024
phantom:
Seun, when I joined nairaland on the 27th of September 2005, a few months after you started it, my hope with a few others like Jakumo who joined on the same day that I did was that we had finally found a truly national or Nigerian forum where people of like minds regardless of tribe could come together and interact.

At that time, the quality of posters was top notch! We had really cerebral folks one was excited to engage with. Even our tribal disagreements then were based on reason, facts and objectivity. Very little emotion.

We had folks like dayokanu, jakumo, ibime, kobojunkie,Gettysburg,Bawomolo, texazpette, romeo etc... with other folks like afam4eva, naptu2 coming later... those days were fun!

Our conversations were real, rugged and raw... with intelligent takes flying all over the place.

Fast foward almost 20 years later, and things have changed.. nairaland has become a sorry sight with all sorts of bots, dregs, vermin, tribalistic and partisan lowlives swimming all over the place like maggots on a plate of spoiled beans.

The place has sadly become a cesspool. And this has led to the exit of many of this platforms brightest and sharpest minds.

Is it because of this dearth of solid members that you have allowed the use of bots to create a semblance of intelligent activity?

Some of us here had previously complained about bots like Chinkoalhaji and others , which you promptly dealt with OR SO WE THOUGHT because it appears there's a new squad of bots that have been unleashed OR did you simply change the name of the old bots?

For many of us "savvy" members, its easy to spot these bots. For many others , they simply cannot. One member simply referred to a comment from one of these bots as sarcasm as it was obvious the comment didn't make sense in response to the thread topic.

It is annoying, irritating and frankly disrespectful for real humans to engage with bots thinking they are doing so with humans. It's fraudulent and also has serious security implications for members and for you as the site owner if something goes horribly wrong as to affect human life stemming from such engagements.

The bots identified include BUT MAY NOT BE LIMITED TO

1.trutharena
2.tundegan
3.Shadomaan7
4. Salewa97
5.Anither563

I believe there are still others that are a bit more subtle but we will identify them.

Seun, please do the needful and get rid of these bots. It doesn't speak well of this platform at all that one comes on here to engage only to do so with a computer code programmed to leave comments with fake likes.

Cheers!

PS: nairalanders, its easy to spot these bots. They make silly, unconnected replies to the topic of the thread. Just watch and notice that their comments are "off" and don't make sense compared to the main topic.

Anytime you read a comment that looks like a joke, or sarcasm or a comment that just doesn't make sense compared to the topic of the thread, it is most likely from a BOT and not a real human being with a brain.
You are a hypocrite the real bots are the name below

Princeoflagos
Bobloco
Gidigidi
Racoon
Ofoigbo
Frigga
Asgard
Odin

And a host of irritants who curse and abuse on every thread

To be sincere, are you comfortable with the policies Tinubu has been dishing out?

People are no longer demanding infrastructural development but survival.

People have lost their jobs and many more are on the verge of going down too.

No sincere person would applaud this government.
You absolved Otti that inherited 24 years of bad governance in Abia a small state in Nigeria but blame Tinubu for the rot of 63 years. What do you call that if not hypocrisy.

We have seen many state governments rehabilitates FG roads and claim the money later just improve development. But many of your governors after payment of salary embezzled the rest that it why your region have not been able to attract investment and your skilled youth flock other region for opportunities that is lacking back home because of bad governance and tribal support you give your leaders

NwaliE01:
This same problem has been here as far back as the old time Aba. This flooding is imminent as it rained 2 days non stop. The government need to improve on drainage systems just as Lagos state os doing now. The man in the video atleast acknowledged that the governor was rebuilding dilapidated roads but should construct new ones in his view.
This same idealogy that made most states to be almost non motorable because of no or poor maintenance.
OTI should be keep pushing the frontiers of excellence. It cannot be achieved in a day but with time. He's less than 3 years in the office and some persons here expected him to have finished grading all the roads in Aba while their own governors almost seemed non-existential.
But many of your brothers want Tinubu to fix Nigeria in 1 year

Even Maiduguri in the far north, Lagos in the west were all flooded, how much more Aba that is a few nautical miles from the Atlantic ocean that won't be flooded.

We know the useless propaganda is being sponsored by the Lagos Kano express media but Otti is doing better that all their governors.

Well done Alex Otti, you are the best.
Abia is closer to Atlantic ocean than Lagos. There's nothing you won't hear from these people.

Use your brain. He was referring to his negotiation with Bandits during Bihari tenure.

There's no negotiation with Bandits in Tinubu's security policy. Get your facts right

1600 or 160?
Secondly, let me ask you? How much were we buying bread in 2011-2015? 150 naira. The same bread is 1,800. I had to stop buying it because it wasn't making any sense to me.
In GEJ time: Minimum wage was 117 dollars
In Tinubu's time: 48 dollars
You calculate the drop off.
Tinubu came with Nonsensical policies that are not making any sense, so why won't we blame him for the current woes facing Nigerians. Is it you or me that increase fuel to 899 even after building our own refinery?
160naira.

You haven't responded to my point which is where will Nigeria get money to maintain fake life.

Every challenge presents an opportunity.

The increase in agricultural commodity present opportunity for greater returns in that sector.

Depend on how you look at it, the value of your assets increases in the face of the inflation.

It will get better. Our balance of trade is positive with export higher than import for the first time in over 20years.

Gradually demand for forex will further reduced and value of naira will appreciate.

Backlog of fx have been paid and foreign reserve increased, these are visible achievement in 1 year. It can only get better

Omowale2023:
Excuses......Excuses......Excuses. That's all am seeing in your explanation. Bros, when Tinubu came how much was fuel and dollar?
Pre-Tinubu
Fuel - 180
Dollar - 800

Tinubu's Tenure
Fuel - 890

Dollar - 1660

So why won't I blame Tinubu for his woeful performance?.

I keep telling people that leadership is service. If you can't improve or make a place better, don't destroy it or make it worse. That's why advanced nations are far better today than us. If they can't perform, they step down or resign. Even Joe Biden stepped down. But in Nigeria, they would rather die than to do the right thing. We need to Reorientate the Nigeria populace. To serve is not a die or do affair. Or do you Disagree?
Same fuel was 65naira during Yaradua and dollar 1600 during Jonathan, calculate the percentage difference and see the velocity of the drop.

You don't get it. Nigeria was borrowing to maintain such fake life. Our revenue can no longer cover debt servicing, in the face of growing population and weak fundamentals.

Our creditors are already apprehensive of our situation. No investor will put his money in a country with weak fundamental.

Nigeria is lucky to have someone with courage to put a stop to the mess. Another 10year in that negative direction would have plunged the country in irreversible destruction.

Omowale2023:
I'm not an expert in Economics. But I can use my brain and read books that will enrich my knowledge about certain things in the society. A perfect example is concerning the Dangote refinery. From the actions of Dangote. I knew he will never sell fuel below what it was originally selling. But people didn't believe me. Now we see what has happened? We are buying fuel at available price not production price. So I didn't need an expert opinion to predict what-wills' and whatnots'.
Be informed don't wait for anyone to inform you
The cummulative mess we find ourselves dont give leeway for continuos payment of fuel subsidy, and continuous defending of naira will amount to serving your dinner to sharks.

It's so pathetic that financial inteligence is lacking in your analysis.

Nigeria economy has been on a free fall and was doomed to fail until this administration came as an absorber. The hardship is inevitable as there are no resources defend the naira in the face of compounding debt.
