Tokskob2008: Op these people you mentioned up there don't go to Sango, Ile-epo, Sango or Gbagi market to buy foodstuffs neither do they live on minimum wage which has now turn to dust and can't even take the earner a week to spend so how can they criticise what isn't directly affecting them?
The common man on the street still remains the yardstick to measure the policies of the government be it good or bad and this government is anything but good. Right now I can say power supply is the only aspect of the economy that has improved under this government.
Believe me if the common man can afford to feed comfortably daily then these hardship noise would reduce drastically but for now food is very expensive so how will the common man be happy or say government policies are working At least you are being fair in your analysis, the price of food is very high due to the increase of our population and farmers leaving thier farms because of bandits and kidnapping in our forest. But will you blame Tinubu for vices that the past government allowed to spread? |

I don't want to be.harsh on you bro. I expect you to gives me fundamentals Did you listen to the interview with the cbn MPC? You should listen to it and know where we are coming from. A position of absolute mess. See your fundamentals: excessively growing population, mono income economy, pure revenue base, poor GDP to tax ration, import dependent economy, high taste for imported goods with poor fx inflow, low food production, subsidy in every area, poor energy, crude producer but 💯 dependent on imported petroleum products, high level corruption, non performing sub-nationals etc etc. If those reforms didn't impact on those fundamentals 4 years after then he has done nothing worthy of celebrating |

That's the thing about data. Impartial n emotionless That's why governments and companies find data to be of the upmost value.
It's almost impossible for anyone that reasons with emotions to be logical. Hence why you didn't fully understand my 2014 comment. Tell me your basis of compsrism that made you jumped 2023,2022 and pick 2014. No economic data is collected like that. Usmanovic95: He implemented policies that stabilize the naira and curb inflation. He focus on diversification of the economy and shift focus on non oil sectors like manufacturing, agriculture. He improved foreign reserve through some prudent fiscal policies. He encourage collaboration with the private sector through public-private partnership program. These policies didn't take long to have positive effect on masses and zero need to preach patience or people to make needless sacrifices. If mediating with oil vandals to stop oil vandals and bunkering is your own economic reform then I give up. How many years did your so called economic reform sustained Nigeria? Pls give figures and data so we can step into the real discussion |

Omowale2023: This is an uneducated comment to say the least and a nonsensical statement to say the most. The last time I checked, you can read a book and formulate your expert opinion about a topic you feel it addresses you directly. So why should I wait for the opinions of others to shape my own opinions? Does that make any common sense to you? If you feel Tinubu's policies are fine, so be it. If you feel they aren't, so be it. Therefore, we don't need the "Expert opinions" to tell us otherwise. Or are you unable to make decisions and formulate opinions yourself? In order to sound logical you ended up roping yourself. Everyone rely on information of others be it verbal or documented to form opinion. The purpose of education is impactation Economics is not same letter writing. Economist rely on economic theories formulated hundred years ago to form opinion. You didn't sound like you pass through secondary school |

And you are now saying you won't criticize Tinubu until Iweala, Soludo and co criticize him There has been hunger and inflation since the day of your grandfather. The day the likes of Madam Ngozi, Adeshina and Soludo criticised Tinubu Economic Policy is the day I will follow suit.
These are experts in their fields and are well respected all over the world. But none of them has publicly criticised particular the fuel subsidy removal and the naira floating.
Why should I listen to people that feed on junks from social media to form opinion
EDITED:
I will be updating the thread with extracts from economic experts warning the leaders about the impending doom that has caught up with us today.
SOLUDO: Below is extracts from one of Soludos numerous warning to Jonathan's government
Beside other issues we raised, our main thesis was that the macro economy was dangerously adrift, with little self-insurance mechanisms (and a prediction that if oil prices fell below $40, many state governments would not be able to pay salaries). I gave a subtle hint at easy money and exchange rate depreciations because I did not want to panic the market with a strong statement. Sadly, on the eve of the next elections, literally everything we hinted at has happened. Part of my motivation for this article is that five years after, the real debate is still not happening. |

If not for 2027, what was all that shenanigans in Kogi and Edo all about.. Using state Institutions like INEC, Judiciary and Police for hostile takeover and changing the peoples' mandate..
For a power that would still end one day..🤔
On the economy, nobody in government has been able to explain how devaluing your currency has ever helped the common man.. with energy prices beyond the reach of common folks thereby causing food hyperinflation even during harvest season. How is this a reform..🤔 You guys should stop all these myopic analysis and take some time off social media and read about world economy, finance, corporation and forex market and you'll understand that the previous naira defending were just few tips to that wets the apetites of the London and NewYork sharks. Nigeria don't have recources to defend the naira and pay subsidy without going bankruptcy. The only option is increase our trade surplus and reduce our imports. So far we are on the right track but just that we have to pass through this stage which all our leaders have put us through. Have you seen the likes of Okonjo- Iweala criticising Tinubu's economic reforms. Those are the ones that truly understand the economy and they are not noise maker. I will start criticising Tinubu's economic policies the day the likes of Okonjo- Iweala, Adeshina, Soludo critise his economic policies. For now burn the candles and get informed |

Just call a spade a spade. Even those that mostly disagree with your politics will respect you. Nigeria has been on a downward trend since 1999, getting to this stage should not be heaped on Tinubu. Whether he would be able to stop the downward trend is what we should look out for. You are free to critise him if he eventually fail. But comparing 2024 to 2014 is foolishness |

I don't like sounding this way but many of you are so irritating. I live in the north you brag about. There no one north in today's politics just like there's no South. Let that sinks. What we have now is interest that transcends region and religion. Your El-Rufai know this and Nigeria is weak enough for easy separation. With Dangote in South, the scrotum of the north will rremain in the South at least in the nearest future If you can't see these then you are still a learner |

Look at how much you use for transportation compared to pre-APC regime and you'll understand them.
Look at the standard of living of people everywhere now at the moment and you'll understand them. We can go on and on, the truth may be bitter but it's still the truth Because you are reasonable I will reply you.
