Politics › Let The Heads Roll by Ttalk(op): 9:15am On Jul 16, 2024
It is less than 24hours as Nigeria wakes up to another news coming out from NNPCL informing the public about 1m barrel of crude oil supplied to Port Harcourt Refinery when Nigerians are yet to digest the bogus news of Nigeria becoming net importer of refinery.

What Nigerians want to see is refined fuel from Nigeria refinery. Enough of announcement, postponements and embarrassment by the NNPCL

Tinubu must make heads roll over the embarrassment this agency has caused the nation. No serious country condone irresponsibility and negligence. It is high time Kyari is shown the way out and give room for fresh ideas would revive the dying refineries.

Obi mostly likely would have done better, because he was pro people, he explained his policies, was down to earth, and was not an establishment candidate, this are enough signs to show, tinubu was elusive, elite oriented, was not pro people, didn't debate, these were bad signs already
The same Peter Obi that said education is not for the poor?

The same Obi who in the name of quick money has been importing all junk into the country,?

The same Obi who fed fat during Abacha government while the masses groan under terror and fear.

Why do you Ibo think your poor image laundering can influence other Nigerians?

In politics every move counts, it is a fatal error for Obi to have ignored congratulating Wole Soyinka, in fact, a belated message to the Prof would mean a push caused by Reno's dragging

. Your Agulu saviour and his adviser and not intelligent, and Reno is gathering this evidence as a bullet he will use during the campaign to send Obi into political oblivion. Sadly Obidients are too naive to see this

Bro I'm not talking about who will rule nigeria forever I think you clearly missed the direction I'm heading. The purpose of this topic is for us to have a rethink and try to solve our problems by ourselves intend of waiting for these politicians to do it it for us. Igbos are ready to join to fight for a better country but they are always used as a scapegoat. The reason this country is at steady fall is because we citizens don't tackle issue decisively that is why the politicians use those loophole to win our minds.
Who are the common enemy? Am sure you are talking about the politicians, my friend, fight your politicians and allow Yoruba and others to fight their own.

But you must first throw the first punch or the missiles at your politicians and then allow Yoruba to follow suit.

Yoruba and Hausa // Fulani will no longer watch while you massacre their leaders while you spare yours.

Nigerian chose between Timubu, Obi and Atiku, will Obi have done better?

babasolution:
Tinubu did little or nothing during his 8 year spell in Lagos.

TINUBU achievements are only in two general things
1. Building growing politicians that's why the politicians love him so much.

2. Sharing loot with his cronies, that's why they love him so much.

It doesn't look like he changed

LAGOS is not working, tinubus dynasty is killing Lagos not developing it.

LAGOS is still very very underdeveloped

Therefore, you don't need a soothsayer to tell you that TINUBU will achieve nothing as president other than building successive politicians and sharing federal money to his cronies.

There isn't going to be any big progress in Nigeria under TINUBU. The signs are already there.
Lagos is not working but your Igwe are levying your people for transportation money to come and take a ride of our monorail.

Politics › Re: Nobody Is Too Big To Be Voted Out: Bashir El-rufai's Cryptic Post by Ttalk: 6:02am On Jul 11, 2024
Nonsense
LandMann:
Unfortunately history doesn't agree with you.

From 1999-2024 Nigeria has had

1. Obasanjo
2. Yaradua
3. Goodluck
4. Buhari
5. Tinubu

Despite getting Nigeria's debt written off, Obasanjo a southerner did not take the fight against corruption AT ALL LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT AND IN THE PUBLIC SERVICE serious. Instead, the agency for fighting corruption was used to only allegedly fight opposition politicians. Obasanjo laid a very weak foundation for the fight against corruption and today Nigeria is reaping the rewards. In addition, Obasanjo increased price of fuel, diesel and kerosene steadily and his regime pumped billions of Nigeria's money in Nigeria's refineries that till date are still dead all tanks to corruption. Obasanjo the strong man could have gotten the national assembly to pass a law prescribing death sentence for corrupt public officials and elected government officials to minimise corruption in Nigeria but no he did not. Today, the seed Obasanjo planted has matured and yielded fruit.

Yaradua a northerner did not last in office but his short stay was the only period since 1999 that brought about reduction in fuel price and removal of exploitative charges by banks dominated by capitalist crooks from southwest of Nigeria.

Next we got Jonathan, a southerner who supervised the most corrupt regime in Nigeria after Abacha. In fact Yar Adua's death was the zenith of Nigeria's progress since 1999. There was massive looting of state resources with little or no consequences, thanks to the weak foundation of anti corruption. Jonathan regime was so bad that sensible Nigerians thought the best thing to do is to vote him out... Unfortunately, given how polluted Nigeria's politics is, the only person available to defeat Jonathan was Buhari a northerner with no sound education. Again, while failing to remove subsidy despite massive gains from oil sales, Jonathan supervised gradual increase in price of fuel and diesel... Kerosene became super expensive under Jonathan a southerner. Inflation began to creep up, eroding the value of the Naira. Meanwhile Jonathan's cabinet and members of government where all swimming in luxury and wealth, most looted. This fueled the demand for a change of government and indirectly allowed it to happen.

Buhari a northerner came in and he too and members of his government continued from where Jonathan stopped. Looting and abuse of power across all levels of government. Despite pressure to remove subsidy, Buhari a northerner refused and explained in an interview with a foreign journalist that you can't ask him to remove subsidy when Nigeria wasn't a productive country. Perhaps he understood that inflation and suffering would be massive, so he continued to pay subsidy that would be looted by crooks and agents of corruption in Nigeria who have now settled with fangs on the blood of ordinary Nigerians to feast like vampire.

Tinubu, a southerner is now in office and the first thing he did is remove subsidy without blocking the various channels of corruption in Nigeria, thereby plunging 90% of Nigerians, the ordinary people into suffering and poverty. After removing subsidy Tinubu continued by introducing one tax after the other all in a bid to sniff life out of the people so he can rule with poverty.

So, from 1999 till date you will see a pattern of wickedness and insensitivity on the part of southern presidents in Nigeria. Most of them have this American capitalist mindsets but they do nothing about corruption, nepotism and tribalism. Unfortunately, putting capitalism and corruption, nepotism and tribalism in the same space is a recipe for disaster cos the capitalists in their insatiable greed and pursuit of self-interest will explore corruption, nepotism and tribalism to achieve their goals.

So, after Tinubu does this 4 years the best thing is to vote a northerner who is a professor and has lectured and has an unblemished public service record, or pair that northerner as vice with a southerner of same quality.

If Nigerians keep arguing to choose between Tinubu, Atiku and Peter Obi in 2027, we will end up with another disaster as president

What do you mean exactly? It's the right of the citizen to criticize but it must be done objectively.

Blame the government for what he failed to do but don't heap the blame on the past leaders him
Politics › The Performance Of Tinubu's Administration In Check by Ttalk(op):
Away from the recent campaign going on on social media, particularly on Nairaland with violent criticism and ignorant opinions flying around, one wonders if Nigerians just got healed from dumbness.

While some criticisms are objective, many are simply rhetoric of ignorance coming from those who fell out in the race to Aso Rock.

As expected, Tinubu is voted to come and solve a myriad of problems bedeviling this country, and Nigerians will no longer entertain excuses going forward from the government. But wait if you must criticize please do objectively.

The flamboyancy of Nigerian politicians has been a source of concern to many, our traditional system and monarchical culture can be traced to this absurd behavior, from the council chairman up to the president is evidence of flamboyance and wastefulness.

Can the politicians continue to live a wasteful life at the expense of the people?

Nigeria's 2024 budget is a paltry 34 billion USD whereas Egypt an African country with less population of about 60 million budgeted 130 billion USD. Other African countries' budgets with less population and resources doubled that of Nigeria. Nigeria is indeed a very poor country with a high potential to grow.

I will therefore task the government to focus on revenue generation to increase its budget to 200 billion USD. This administration will incur strong criticism from me if the 2027 budget doesn't exceed 100 billion USD.

Nigeria cannot develop with the meagre budget we have, a good minimum wage and infrastructure is a stimulants for a better life
