Between Tinubu who pays Federal workers 70k and Alex Otti who struggles to pay 18k salary, who deserves to be sacked?
Politics › Re: Will Labour Join The Protest? by Ttalk: 7:45pm On Jul 20, 2024
Yes both Ajeiro and LP presidential candidate must show up to demonstrate their concern to labour cause. They would lead the protest by starting from States like Abia who pays his workers 18k minimum wages and still owning. Failure to do that will amount to hypocrisy

Amember of the Abia State House of Assembly representing Aba Central constituency, Stephen Ucheonye on Thursday commissioned refuse disposal bins to mark his first year in office.

He described the distribution of the refuse disposal bins as his constituency project.

Now that the Federal Givernment have agreed to pay 70k, I believe Lagos will also do since Edo has led the pack.

Now the protesters can now shift their protest to States that has not been paying the current 30k.

Let's mobilise to Abia state and demand Alex Otti the only LP governor who is owning his workers 18k to do the needful.

Nairaland obedient, over to you, you can now channel your energy to Abia state, let's rescue Abians civil servants from Otti's slave wage

adioolayi:
"The NUPRC Chief Executive was probably misquoted by some people hence his statement that IOCs did not refuse to sell to us. To set the records straight, we would like to recap the facts that aside from Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), to date, we have only purchased crude directly from one other local producer (Sapetro). All other producers refer us to their international trading arms.

“These international trading arms are non-value adding middlemen who sit abroad and earn margin from crude being produced and consumed in Nigeria. They are not bound by Nigerian laws and do not pay tax in Nigeria on the unjustifiable margin they earn."

These are the key bottlenecks a serious government should focus on resolving.

You keep talking about ease of doing business and neglect the fundamentals.
Those local companies that are doing all these underhand deals by referring to their principal partners abroad should be heavily sanctioned by now...if local markets are not your first priority, then leave our country!!!
What is the usefulness of PIA that cost Nigeria over 12 years to pass? Now that the PIA is in place, operators are not playing by the rules and the regulators are handicapped and can't weird the big stick. What's wrong with this country? Why does the government condone laxity and negligence by its officials?

This government must include high discipline in its reforms, it's not enough to sack ministers on account of misappropriation, but searchlight must be pointed at those sources of revenue, we can't be molested by our criminal politicians and still be bleeped by foreign investors, this regime must put an end to these fraud

The two sentences in your write up contradict each other because if I have a right to protest, then I should protest exactly where the hunger caught me - Lagos.

The only way there shouldn't be a protest is IF there is no hunger in Lagos.
