You can't speak and conclude for a hole Yoruba nation. Look inwardly you will see some good in the Igbo people that supervised your hate. You lack comprehension as my submission exonerates reasonable Igbo, but in your quick and wack judgement you reason the same way MNK has taught you to reason. Don't get it twisted, Nigeria no longer live in the era one Nigeria, rather it is now era of regional interest within Nigeria, and that is the agenda of the new Yoruba, if you work with us we reciprocate but since you have chosen the part of hatred, just expect double, no time for paparazzi |
Politics › Re: How Tinubu Might Win The Up- Coming Election by Ttalk: 9:26pm On Jun 27, 2022 |
LocalStandard1: Come on Nigerians, let's be honest, outside of the South West where else is Tinubu popular? The North? Nop, not at all. He is known there but definitely not electable.
Tinubu carries a striking resemblance to Buhari pre 2015 elections. Everything about both of them was controversial, age, mental and physical health, education, origin, capabilities, everything. Except,
"Integrity". That is in the aspect of financial corruption. Which is what rode Buhari to power ( how we were deceived).
Tinubu doesn't have that, far from it. Coupled with the fact that he was among those that washed up Buhari on us.
One way he can still sell outside the SW is if he can convince Kwankwaso to dump or dissolve his party into the APC and become his deputy.
By doing that he stand a better chance of selling in the North against Atiku. And a little more chance of catching the hearts of the "OBIdients".
If not ....aaahhh!!!?
Baba have you entered the streets lately and asked the average Nigerian who they are voting? I have.
It is beyond the social media now oh, it is spreading. SS, SE, NC, even SW.
Or, continue to spend Lagos state money on campaigns and be shocked by the outcome later. Because if he wins, Nigerian treasury is in deep shi*t. Nigeria go most vomit that campaign money fess.
Oh yes! It can get worse.
Thank you. You do not get it. Yoruba do not share the same political ideology with you, neither the north share same but you think other Nigerians reason the same way you do. That's what makes you a political island, you are blind and condemned to political abyss. That is why PDP played fast one on you, and you were hoping a Yoruba man will not get APC ticket but became very bitter when Buhari and the north you except to ditch Tinubu rallied round him to get the ticket. Now you are at another self delusional journey against SW and Tinubu, banking on other regions to reason your way, but las las every region has it's own interest to protect in Nigeria and not yours. If you can't defeat Yoruba, don't expect other region will help you defeat them, carry your cross as you are on your own |

Yoruba accommodated you after the war, they didn't share your properties as the spoil of war. That is why we have large number of your people in SW despite the fact that Yoruba do not share border with SE states.
You came to SW and find a peaceful environment, you were never killed because of religion, ethnic or trade just like the way you are being massacre in the north, Ghana or South Africa.
You find it easy to occupy executive position and were allowed to contest elective position in the SW while your people enjoy similar privilege in the SW. In fact 90% of your past and current leaders have their education in SW and still have one connection or the other in the SW states, but you taken the love for stupidity, you continuously antagonize their believe, culture heritage and political interest for no just reason but for envy and ego contest.
While you were at that, your political God MNK through his radio Biafra instigated many hatred against Youruba which were pursued by IPOB while your leaders kept quiet. You continued your hatred during endsars and hijacked the movement to destroy Lagos, you are very happy to see Lagos and SW where you made your money go down even if it will cost you great lost.
You called Lagos no mans land but can't do that to Abuja, Kano or PH. You hate every Yoruba politician and protect the worst ones from your region.
Yoruba do not envy your food, your town or your leaders, if fact, they do not know whether you exist or not but you dedicate all your entire regional life against Yoruba.
You supported PDP and Yoruba supports APC, you were schemed out of the presidential primary while Yoruba fought hard to get that of APC, but you blame your political incompetence on Yoruba
Seriously, you have burnt the bond of relationship that exist between you and Yoruba for life, it's just a pity that innocent Igbo who do not subscribe to the barbaric of many of you would suffer the consequence |

Lagos problem has nothing to do with non indigenes, it's a case of excessive waste of the state's resources by the ruling cabal which I believe you know. What you said is true, aside fashola's BRT innovation, there's nothing special about Lagos.
In the 90s there use to be running water from Lagos State water cooperation supplying water to all the household in the state, today if you don't have borehole where you live, be prepared to be buying water from mallams.
Are we forgetting traffic robberies, insecurity, high crime rate, thuggery... etc.
If not for the Port that opened the door to foreign companies, lagos would have be a Shadow of itself by now. Cos the tax it receives doesn't correspond with the development and security on ground. I waste valuable time on that bridge and everytime I am coming back from work I observed the huge traffic on the bridge and the empty waterway then I ask myself; what's stopping Lagos State government to properly invest in maritime? Is it not stupid that we are spending hours on this bridge and the waterways are empty? The lagoon is a serious resource that Lagos State government has not investing properly in, just look at cities like vienna, Amsterdam and even Cairo (river nile) make good use of their waterways when I visired. Do you know how far this will go in emptying the roads? Do you know how much you will save on road rehabilitation? The lagoon connects almost every major parts of Lagos, from Epe, Ikorodu, ajah, ikoyi, V.I, Lagos island, Apapa, festac, ojo, and Badagry and yet it's always almost empty.
Lagos State government is not serious, they are busy chasing shadows. I swear. Do you know there is still contending issues regarding usage of our waterways, how effective is the state assembly legislation when our waterways is being policed by the FG. Lagos cannot experience UGM and ESN. There are no forests to hide and it's too urban. It's common sense my friend. Traffic might even stall there activities, no sane UGM will operate in such environment and not get caught. You should think
no one stops state government from providing world class transportation, Roads, waterboard etc in their states. States can even construct federal roads and get refunds. States can even build rails and seaports.
The only thing states cannot do is to generate electricity as that will be integrated into national grid.
If you know any other developmental project a state cannot embark upon, kndly share with us. With due respect I must admit that your understanding in respect to governance in Nigeria is very limited hence your armchair criticism that doesn't reflect the complexity of Nigeria. But avail yourself to read the state power within the exclusive, concurrent and residual list of the constitution. Can a state government rehabilitate a Federal road without approval from Federal government? Have you bothered to check limitation of state government to exploit our waterway transportation system. Now the little initiative from Lagos state government in water transportation was contested by FG through different bills that stifles state development? Have you forgotten that Lagos State has been the pioneer of these strides, such as water transportation, rehabilitation of Fed roads despite the unending power play that comes from FG. Do you think any state government has power to embark on rail project without approval from government? At what cost are those approval given? How long does it take LASG before getting the approval of the light rail currently being built? What about Lagos Badagry expansion project? What is the investment of State government compared to the Federal government in the project? How will you assess the contribution of LASG to it's portion of the project compared to that of Federal government? I know you won't care to look up into all these underlying factors beyond the criticism and blame game. Let me just ignore your opinion about inability of UGM, BH to penetrate Lagos because it is baseless. I would rather advice you to pick genuine interest in governance so you would appreciate work some leaders are doing within the complex society they are operating |

it's nor within the jurisdiction of a state to generate revenue from passport and visas. FatherOfJesus: no state in Nigeria is developed. Lagos is the top destination for eveey business, this doesn't mean that Lagos has more infrastructure than other state on "per capita" basis ( I hope you understand what I meant by "per capita')
point to where I inferred that Lagos State government keeps taxes from MMA
Lagos State government has access to revenue than other states because they are basking on the advantage the seaport gives to Lagos which ensured that more businesses migrate to Lagos. These business pay taxes to Lagos State government and we aren't seeing what they use the money for. Lagos State government generate more money than some African countries but those African countries still have better infrastructure than Lagos state. Someone is looting these monies.
this same structural unitary has also favoured Lagos in terms of revenue generation and HDI. Lagos government is not making good use of that advantage to make Lagos a world class city.
Lagos State doesn't have to generate money from tourism with the huge commercial activities going on in the state. New York doesn't care much about tourism because commerce is their stronfhold, they leave tourism for states like Hawaii, Florida or Honolulu.
on what basis did you reach this conclusion?
Dry ports are not as efficient as seaport and it doesn't work without a properly functioning railway system. Dude, what are you saying?
why are you insecure? Because your intention has been to divert attention to state government misuse of public fund, but you failed to see and admit the root cause of underdevelopment we faced in every parts of Nigeria. Lagos is a blessed (region) and her glory can be traced back to 17 century. The market, trade and port has been functional before independence while its citizen are highly sophisticated with the right education that could transform the region into a developed society if not for the unitary system that takes away the powers from them? Lagos would have been a better place if she controls immigration policy that would reduce the influx of nuisance with no value into it. I can see you never imagine tourism includes immigration levies that could come from passport and visa fees if Lagos were to be independent unit. Just the way you don't visualise the burden of unrestricted influx of Nigerians into an area with limited landscape and infrastructure. You seems not to understand that the rate of population growth of Lagos is way above rate of development that is obtainable in any society. Spare Lagos of all the blame, Lagos is blessed, her people are hardworking, her leaders are rational, it is the contraption that is pulling Lagos down |
