Politics › Re: Obi Will Solve Nigeria’s Security Challenge, Says Reps Aspirant, Ugochukwu Okoji by Ttalk: 6:10pm On May 28
Sheuns:
Any human with strong will and all the powers associated with the Presidency can solve Nigeria’s insecurity problems.

What’s holding them back is fear, politics and deals they’ve made with others to get power.

Tell me why as a president, a man that has all the power and arsenal of a country at your disposal is afraid to mention the names of the terror sponsors or even outrightly go after them.

What have you got to lose?
Talk is cheap.
No individual can stop Nigeria security challenges because it is structural problem.

A constitution amendment to incorporate state police is required and it will be passed by 2/3 of all states and Federal Assembly.

The president has instructed the state governor to work it out but how many state Assemblies have deliberated it, not to talk of Nass.

Talk is cheap

Peter Obi today was a guest speaker at the David and Goliath Conference organized by Fr Oluoma in Abuja.

Key points:

“Insecurity festers in because it has become a business.”

“Egypt was generating about 20,000 megawatts of electricity in 2015. Today they are exporting electricity to Europe because they now generate more than they need.”

Power is now. In concurrent list, he should go and advise his home state governor to power his state.

No one will stop any state governor from giving his state power. Abia state through a private enterprise is supplying chunk of power to Abians, that should be replicated across Nigeria states

Sadly in Nigeria you will have to pray to get even your own pension you contribute ... i remember the prayer session my went through just to get there pension after working for 35yrs

The other sad reality is that with the poor salary package predominant in Nigeria and incessant inflation Lots of workers wont be able to own a good house even if they work 40yrs
To buy quarter land alone now is over 9m on top 70k minimum wage
That's not a Nigeria problem, it is a universal one. An average worker in the US can't build a house without mortgage. Many salary work are for maintenance and not for wealth creation, you need to play outside the box as a salary worker to acquire some things in life

Ofunaofu:
What’s actually a lie is pretending Lagos 2023 was peaceful just because the truth is inconvenient.

First, a simple Google search would have shown you that the picture is from Ogun State, not Kogi. So miss me with the manufactured outrage and lazy gaslighting.

Second, Lagos doesn’t need demarketing.

Those who demarket Lagos are the same people who turned elections into warfare, the thuggery, agberoism, voter intimidation, ethnic profiling, and state-backed impunity we all witnessed live and direct. No Photoshop. No propaganda. We were there, we all saw it.

When political actors unleash street urchins, thugs, agberos, deploy oro masquerades to scare voters, openly threaten people believed to be a particular ethnic group, and celebrate violence, they do more damage to Lagos’ image than any tweet or Nairaland post ever could.

The problem isn’t people speaking up.
The problem is those who perpetrated electoral banditry, thuggery, agberoism and deploy the most ethnic and tribal bîgótry divisive campaign ever in the history of this country
You can discuss politics as you want but when you try to rubbish my state you will hear from me.

You can't lie about what you don't know, I've been active in Lagos politics since 1999.

Your lie about Lagos cannot fly where I am because you don't know 5% about Lagos politics, you concern should be about your state and how it can be better and not focus your entire life on what obtained where you have no root or connection to unless you wish to abandon your state for Lagos.

Why are you not bordered about the killing that took place in the SE, the threat from IPOB the harassment of APC people in your state. Why dissipating so much energy in a state you can never become a councillor.

Is that not misplaced priority?

Why did you post a picture of event that happened in Ogun state as Lagos? You claimed there's violence in Lagos election but can only post a picture in Ogun state to buttress your point. That's is misinformation but the mods will allow you to continue in your foolery because that is their way.

The thugs in Lagos alone pass all these, it's on daily basis, your windscreen would be smashed and your items collected if you're driving in some dark areas in Lagos.
I spent my holiday in Lagos and you can't find the kind of night life you enjoy in Lagos in any parts of Nigeria including Abuja.

Why do you guys hate Lagos this much?
Politics › Re: Election Violence In 2023 State-Level Elections By Zones by Ttalk: 7:49am On Jan 28
MrGerald:
Lagos more peaceful and organized? Maybe these have another meaning, you probably never been to Abuja or Enugu, but if you say opportunity that's understandable.
Ogbeni, I work in Abuja, so make your point. Do you know the kind of protest that happened in Abuja during endsars. The terrorism, bombing and the community raid by kidnappers?

Many of you are simply ignorance
Politics › Re: Election Violence In 2023 State-Level Elections By Zones by Ttalk: 7:42am On Jan 28
Ofunaofu:
We don’t need StatiSense to tell us that the South West, especially Lagos State would top the list for election violence in 2023.

We lived it. We witnessed the impunity, thuggery, agberoism, voter intimidation, and outright suppression that defined the Lagos elections, all in a desperate bid to grab it, snatch it, and run away with it.

We saw political oro masquerades deployed to scare voters. We witnessed wanton killings, maiming, and destruction of property targeting people believed to belong to a particular ethnic group, all because of their democratic choice.

And as if the violence on the streets wasn’t enough, ethnic bile was openly fueled by characters like Bayo Onanuga and MC Oluomo, further poisoning the atmosphere and stoking ethnic tension.
Lie is part and parcel of many of you. The picture you post is from Kogi state in North Central. Why attaching it to make it look like it happened in Lagos.

The more you try to demarket Lagos the more your state go down, just know this

You can lie as much as you like to yourself but Lagos still remain the most peaceful and organized state in Nigeria.

Many of you will sell your house to ensure your children are posted to Lagos for their NYSC because 2 things are guaranteed. Your child will not be killed and there's high probability of securing a better future These are facts that lies can't take away

The guy surprised me. One can be tempted to conclude that the north and SE behave in the same manner. While the north are not.ambitious but depending on Nigeria unity for survival, the SE don't believe in themselves and always using secession to bargain their continuous patronage in a united Nigeria.

The SE don't have a clear picture of what they want

Good2go1:
Seeing Lagos in that list made me to start daught the credibility of that list.
You should first understands what constitute clean environment.

Water: most of water in Lagos passes through natural filteration sand because of its rich sandy soil. It location within sea level makes its water self purify thereby reducing the level of water transmitted diseases. How many times have you heard cases of cholera in Lagos.

Pollution: Apart from carbon emissions that comes from huge vehicle and industrial waste, Lagos air is naturally clean. You can't compared it with other states with red mud that mixed with air

Including a dirty and smelly Lagos in the list completely make a nonsense of the statistics from the originator. If you categorizes Lagos as clean then you are oblivious of the definition of a clean state.

It’s obvious you just jumped into this conversation and missed the plot entirely. Comparing Obi’s tenure as a state governor to Tinubu’s tenure as president is not just lazy, it’s intellectually dishonest.

Obi governed Anambra State, not Nigeria, not the federal purse, and not with the same powers, revenue streams, or propaganda machinery available to a sitting president. Yet under him, Anambra cleared debts, left billions in savings, invested heavily in education, health, and infrastructure, and consistently ranked among the least indebted states.

As for ‘pictures, governance isn’t a social media content contest. Roads, schools, hospitals, savings, and debt reduction don’t disappear because you can’t find glossy photo-ops.

And no, Obi wasn’t building China in the air or by mouth, he was running a state with prudence, not media noise.

Honestly, jumping in with baseless comparisons like this makes one wonder if you actually understand governance at all or if you’re even mentally okay to have this conversation.
You don't know that states are sub national with autonomous power to execute projects.

Now that you have confirmed your intellectual laziness, you can now open your constitution and read about concurrent and residual list that covers what a state can do.

Nobody is asking for scale or capacity between FG and state government, we just want to see what Obi has done with the little he got.

A coward is claiming not to be interested in discussing an attempt to execute their leaders. Lol

They denied and tried to cover up genocide on their own people talk less of this one. Them no born the Agbadorian well to open threads and talk about this issue seriously.

By the way, Agbadorians (aka Tinubu supporters) are a well known group of people, no de try to drag Yorubas into your tomfoolery
You guys don't know what you want, just get this into your skull that Yoruba don't court validation to proof a point. We fight those we want to fight and diss those we want to diss. It is non of your business to startt sniffing what Yoruba are cooking, that is called longer throat.

Terming Yoruba disinterested action as an act of cowardice is a reflection of how you see yourself before the north.

Yoruba don't worship the northerners like you do, that's what the history told us

How will an Azikwe with his exposure succumbed to accept a figurehead head of state under Tafawa Balewa a school teacher if not an act of cowardice.

Alex Ekweme, equally acted as extra tyre to Shahari a grade 2 teacher.

All these were done without the north reciprocate the gesture unlike Osinbajo who deputized a northerner but the SW stood and collected the mantle from the North despite their grumbling.

Yoruba are different, they fought the military populated by the north out of power when your leaders were dining and organizing a million march for the northerner including Peter Obi who was errant boy to Abacha the military junta.

To put it succinctly, when the north killed Abiola, the Yoruba fought gallantly and ensure power was microzone to SW leading to Obasanjo from an Egba man from Ogun state just as Abiola became the president.

2 people from the South led a secession campaign during Buhari, your leader was brought back in a pig cage while the other Yoruba escaped and today is a free man when your supreme leader washing toilet of bandits prison mates in Sokoto prison.

Tell me the definition of a coward from these scenario.

The SW collected power in APC after suppting the northerners for 8 years but your leaders ran away at the mention of Atiku after slaving for the northern PDP for 22years compared to SW who ensures they collect power from the northerns in APC.

Today your leaders are begging to a a spare part to the northerner in a country you co-owned. Shame no dey catch una ni?

The northerns have massacred your people countless time and the northern youth even gave you quit notice, and your people rolled out all the leaders in the SE to go and beg.
