If PDP won't give their ticket to a South South Politician, then the APC will continue ruling.

Atiku alone does not have the solution to Nigeria problem.
That's just the reality. It is a bitter pill our brother from the East would not want to swallow and that would completely alienate them from other Southerners. There recent lackadaisical attitude towards clamouring for state to handle VAT has put the other zone on alert just like their poor commitment towards Southern governor forum, yet they want other Southerners to fight for their cause

Let them forget about massive votes from the South South then.
The only way PDP can stand a chance against APC is to give it's ticket to SS

That was Lagos before independence. We only had 7 Igbo men living in Lagos at that time

Politics › Re: APC: Governors Draw Battle Line With Aso Rock Cabal by Ttalk: 10:28pm On Mar 20, 2022
I think the principle of expediency captures it all. It's what we called political expediency as far as APC is concerned, it is not about what is convenient to say, but what is right and what is just.

It is convenient for Igbo to demand for presidency from APC to be zoned to SE, but is it the right thing base on the principle of Justice and fairness as far as APC as party is concerned.?
CPC and ACN group are major staholder who formed APC, CPC faction about to complete it's it's tenure and the law of natural Justice demand that ACN group would produce the next one.

Igbo as a region and group within APC comes far below the first two.

Now the reality on ground suggests that the IGbo would vote PDP ahead of APC, past records have shown that and there's no assurance that even voting turnout would be appreciable judging from the recent governorship election in Anambra State.

The reality Igbo find themselves now doesn't place them in APC giving them the ticket just like PDP too will likely not.

Now way forward is for Igbo to start demanding the presidency from PDP they have better chance of getting it's ticket.

Secondly, Igbo should focus on how to get additional 1 state at least to make them competitive in political exercise. The best region they could influence to attain that is SW. Why not bargain for this now from APC candidate and vote them if eventually PDP didn't give Igbo. With that they would have increased their chances of competing in future primary in any party

Igbo still have opportunity of reviving APGA to form a formidable party in future election and had it been such arrangement is present in this build up to 2023, Igbo would have greater chance of clinching the ticket by forming alliance with the PDP.

Those are the possible steps Igbo can take to secure the presidency in the near future

DMerciful:
You don't need what's inside a book to know the honest thing to do. If you say rotation is not constitutional both in APC constitution and Nigeria constitution then it means the NW has every right to contest as well so there shouldn't be any mention of presidency zoned to the South but open for all.

And if we tow this path, see how long it would take before the division gets to breaking point
Politics › Re: APC: Governors Draw Battle Line With Aso Rock Cabal by Ttalk: 9:04pm On Mar 20, 2022
DMerciful:
In a country as ethnically divided as Nigeria,
rotational presidency helps with unity. Swinging presidency btw NW and SW does not help unity and you must agree with me on this. Its the turn of the three other regions yet to produce the presidency and as such I'll support a presidency of SE, NE or NC extraction. Thats the most equitable thing to do.
Yes I quite agree that rotating the presidency could sustain the unity of the country but we have to understand the followings

1. Rotational presidency is not in the constitution of Nigeria
2. Existing rotation arrangement we have is only in PDP
3. APC doesn't have rotational arrangement in it's constitution
4. The existing rotation in PDP is regional based and not zonal based. It is between the north and the South and not among each 6 geopolitical zone

The existing arrangement in PDP was betrayed by the South in 2015 when Jonathan contested and was being backed by leaders from the South. That sole act put paid to any zoning arrangement in PDP

The reason for removing Ambode is not what you just mentioned. Before Tinubu declined support for Ambode, he was praised in Lagos and Nigeria as a perfirming governor.

My point is Tinubu uses thugs to control Lagos politics same way Bubu is using cabals to control national politics.

I believe Tinubu is competent enough however its against equity for SW to be talking of presidency now, its the turn of SE, NE or NC!
Am sorry to say you do not understand Lagos politics though you might be living there. I breathe Lagos politics. Let leave it at that

But Tinubu bullied Ambode out of Lagos gov race, he has be using MC Oluomo and his gangs to install Lagos govs, reps, senators and hoa members
I like it when opposition critise based on issue rather than name calling.

Ambode was a disaster as a governor as he concerntrated infrastructure in his Senatorial division and in particular Epe where he's from neglecting Lagos West which comprise of 10LG with the largest number of voting population strength as well as the area with the highest numbers of the indigene.

Such vital error cant be ignored in a state like Lagos the has laid down developmental plan.

Agbero is a necessary evil in the type of Nigeria we find ourselves where the North nurture BH and bandits, SS militants and SE IPOB, the different is that Agbero in SW are being legally used to collect revenue at the park

U r just being sentimental and baseless.
Even after what saraki faced, he never did anything to stop the progresd of buhari's govt.
His leadership screened all buhari's appointees including ameachi that had serious corruption allegations against him, he approved almost all his loan request..

So tell me one distinct thing saraki did that made buhari's first term a failure to some one who is a failure personified?
Saraki tenure was filled with many failures such as late budget passage and clear failure of the Senate to limit its cost. The Senate also failed to initiate badly needed policy framework and legislations to help an ineffective executive arm confront insecurity, unemployment, healthcare and education crises.

It was during his tenure that different types of PIB was smuggled into National Assembly, knowing fully well that the passage of the Bill would have solved some of the problems we are faced with today from the sector.

Now he has both chamber working under him, what stop him from unveiling the plans now?
The deed has been done already, what remain is to halt the downward trend and see if the situation can be salvaged. But that cant be achieve by the opposition, the fragile state of the nation with security and economic situation threatening can not afford a change of government with a change in policy, I think we would have to make the government sit up rather than playing all these ethnic politics that give the players leverage to continue with impunity

Dont mind these guys. Some of them are just sentimental beyond belief. In 16 years PDP did not give any other Party a sniff as far as control of the Senate was concerned.

Every politician worth their onions know that control of the upper legislative house, Buhari surrendered casually, is critical to a Party getting her ways per national direction and policy implementation.

Under Buhari APC gained a hostile and anti-Party APC Senate President and PDP deputy senate President. A situation never witnessed in the current democratic history of Nigeria.

Saraki and Ekweremadu, predictably, then went ahead to totally rubbish Buhari's first term with their sabotage and deliberate treachery.

Chess Player indeed.
I was in the midst of the whole drama, what is happening today is as a result of lapses created by the president at inception, the inability of the president to exert his authority has really dealt with party, I hope APC survive 2023

Anyone from the SW is free to come out and the Igbos should not be hated for not supporting them. There are over 250 tribes and 200 million nigerians. The Igbos should be free to support anoher person. Why the hate.
