Consensus Igbo candidate how? When did the Igbos come out to say he's their candidate? He was more popular in the East by virtue of his party just as Buhari was more popular in the West by virtue of being the APC candidate.

As for mentioning Tinubu, he said "Many people like Tinubu". He actually then said something nice about Tinubu being leader of APC which you his supporters always push even if there are no facts to back that up. Mind you, he also had choice words for the Hausas. The Hausas have not reacted violently nor called him names. Only you the Tinubu group. You guys need to chill a lot.
Stop defending the hypocrite, we have seen that he only humbled himself to build his career in the SW but now that he feels he has reached the peak of his career he's now showing his true colour of egocentric and parochial mindset

Atiku will not like this news at all because this is one of the unfinished projects he is coming to do when he becomes President.

He is still regretting how he forgot to sell the company to himself while he was selling all Nigeria assets to himself and his cronies

Advice to the Brits

Britain is not interested in helping us fight insurgency, they have not shown concern to our security helplessness, they are not bothered whether we all die of hunger, they care less about our epileptic power, what exactly is their purpose for colonising us?

They are always interested in our oil and our resources, now it's Ajaokuta steel they want to steal revamp.

My only warning is for them to learn from Russia who abandoned the company to rot only to be punished by ordinary Ukraine as Ogun the God of Africa is dealing with them for playing a fast one on Nigeria

To Nigerians

Thank God for the new voting system where unverified person can't vote and no more incidence form that helped in the past in bloating number of votes in North and SW,.....2023 result will shock Nigerians as there may be less than 8million votes cast I'm totality and igbo votes will now count across the states in Nigeria,

This is why I said so.

In 2019, his son Yul Edochie specifically resigned his position to support Atiku campaign openly. Remember Atiku was over 70+ year old in 2019 election.

A man that cannot advise his son against supporting Atiku an old 70+ man for Presidency in 2019 who now want to advise Nigeria against voting for a 70 year old man in 2023 shows he is truly Foolish .

What was inside the bullion vans that was driven into his compound prior to election morning the other day? Was that not funds meant to "galvanize" the elections or should we off this mike?
How did Tinubu make his money?
He might be a fine leader and all but you need to tone the path of accountability to the masses.
Don't you think we need people of integrity to add value to the advancement of our democracy?
Though am not too impressed with your line of argument just like Rufai of AriseTV question of Tinubu source of wealth, and I think that exposes laziness and shallow work done by our journalist.

Rather than asked for source of wealth, why not quantify and value his worth?

What does Tinubu worth? Do you have idea of what he's worth in order to determine whether he is wealthy or not.

Am very surprised that PDP and his followers have been too weak and lazy to put forward valid points to nail their opponent other than Bullion van stuff that could not stand as a basis for Nigerian to reject him or any other person from his party.

If you feel Bullion van in Tinubu's house amount to corruption, a legal part should have been taken by the opposition at least to use as a point against him in time like this other than resulting to blackmail that can easily be debunked.

Funny, issue of corruption cant be used against Tinubu because every Nigerian politician is guilty of and some of the candidates even have proven corrupt cases like the Haliburton case
Politics › Vice President Osinbajo’s Presidential Declaration Speech, By Rudolf Ogoo Okonkw by Ttalk(op): 6:44pm On Mar 31, 2022
Fellow Nigerians, a few moments ago, I met with President Muhammadu Buhari. I informed him that I wanted to succeed him as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Though it is not my life-long ambition, it has become imperative that to rescue Nigeria, we need someone to build on the achievements of President Buhari. I have looked around; I do not see anyone better suited to carry on that solemn assignment than my humble self.

As a great father of the nation, which Buhari is, he wished me well.

I took this bold step after a wide-ranging consultation with Nigerians of various ethnic, religious, and economic hues. I listened to market women and men, I sat down with the young and old, I heard from students and intellectuals, I broke bread with the unemployed and the underemployed, I accepted the counsel of traditional rulers and kingmakers across Nigeria, and more importantly, I weighed in the opinion of my wife and children. All the signals that I got were positive. Go PYO.

Unlike all those who want to rule you as their subjects, I offer myself to serve our great country, Nigeria, with utmost humility. Growing up in Lagos, I did not know that I would be where I am today – one heartbeat away from the presidency of this great country. Having been here, having seen all parts of Nigeria from a close range, having worked beside a great but humble leader, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, for almost seven years now, having interacted with leaders at federal, state, and local government levels, I have a burning desire in me to continue with Buhari’s master-plan for Nigeria.

The masterplan may not be clear to some of you, my compatriots, but there is a masterplan coming together. The worldwide economic downturn, COVID-19 pandemic, and decades of lack of investments in Nigerian infrastructure may have blurred what President Buhari has achieved. But trust me, he has taken Nigeria to a new height. Though you may not feel it, you may not honestly say that you are better off today than you were in 2015, but believe me, in things that matter most, values and sincere leadership, our country is in a better place.

My fellow Nigerians, trust me when I say that no matter how dark it looks, we are on the right path. The temporary disruptions that we see today, the blurriness caused by the dust in the air should not blind us to the long time gains of our investments of this day. I share in your pains of this day of cultivation. Inshallah, we shall all smile soon as harvest time comes.

The Nigeria of 2015 was an active erosion site, swallowing homes, roads, and farmlands. What we have done is to channel the floodwater away from the site. Though the gullies are still collapsing and expanding at some places, fundamentally, we have plucked the remote causes. I seek the presidency to begin the next level of the project, which is to fill up the gullies, recover our once lost land and begin reconstruction. In my time as president, you will see mansions rising in our fatherland once overrun by ugly gullies.

I have looked around the field of those aspiring to be president. Though they may be honorable men and women in their own right, none of them has what it takes to complete the job that President Buhari started. This is not the time to bring in people who were not there when the corpse was buried and have them start digging from the legs.

Those of you who watched with amazement what I accomplished in those few days that President Buhari handed power to me can attest that if I get only four years to be the steward of this great nation, I will turn Nigeria into what Ronald Reagan called “a shining city on a hill.”

As we know, some people are born corrupt. Some people have corruption swimming all around them. I am clothed in a bright gown of integrity. Integrity is modest, integrity is humble and integrity never fails to accomplish and excel. I never have and will never steal from the Nigerian people. Those who steal are greedy. Period. They never change. Please do not believe them when they say they are born-again.

I am vast in the rudiments of nation-building and sustainable economic growth. When I come into my own as president, that skill set will make all the difference. It helps that more than all the pretenders in the political arena, I am hardworking, I am committed to my stated goals and I am determined to rise above all my enemies and my competitors. My vision for Nigeria is clear and simple. I want Nigeria that is great but just, prosperous but fair and progressive but united. Justice, fairness and unity are very close to my heart.

I have never cheated to be where I am in life. We are where we are as a nation because we have allowed some people to cheat and steal their ways to what we call success. I made myself what I am today by converting challenges into opportunities. That is the philosophy that I will bring to my presidency. I will deploy this philosophy to lure back our compatriots who have lost faith in the Nigerian project. They will give Nigeria a second chance when they see my sincerity of purpose.

I understand the internal factors dragging down the economy of Nigeria. I have the foreign and nationwide connections that I need to speed up the economic renaissance of our nation. When it comes to security concerns, I will take decisive actions to quell the lingering security problems across Nigeria. As someone close to the beaming youth of this nation, I know how to inspire them to deploy their restless energy into productive ventures. I have done it on tiny scales in line with my limited portfolio as vice president. As president, I will multiply my effort by 100 million folds.

Those who know me well will tell you that I am like water. I have no enemy. I will carry every part of the country along in the journey of Nigeria’s emancipation. Yes, that is what PYO stands for – total and final emancipation of Nigeria. We are all children of God, and the God that I serve does not discriminate. I firmly believe that what is good for my children must be extended to the children of the lowest citizen of our country.

I believe now is the time to reverse this current system where we leave a great majority of our people to wait for crumbs to trickle down to them from the table of the rich and mighty. When I am president, I will ensure that the least amongst us have the first choice before the mighty. Having run “TraderMoni” and school feeding programme, having worked with young entrepreneurs starting a business, I know the potential in them. I will not let that potential go to waste anymore.

I know what most of you are waiting to hear. What about my great friend and benefactor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (aka BAT)? As you all know, I have tremendous respect for Asiwaju, Jagaban Borgu. But in matters of the fate of 200 million Nigerians, we cannot afford to let emotions rule us. The situation of Nigeria today is so critical. We need a healthy, vibrant, and untainted leader to handle the situation, now that we still can.

The same goes for other aspirants from all the other political parties. We have no room to play around anymore. We have no space for people who will learn on the job. We have no patience for those carrying a truckload of toxic baggage. The urgency of our situation is palpable.

For this and other reasons, I offer myself to serve our great nation by declaring my interest in running for president. It will be the greatest honor of my life to serve you all.

May God bless you all. And may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Have you heard of unity in diversity??
It seems you only wish to argue but ended up contradicting yourself. If you think that unity in diversity can't be achieved through proper orientation of the importance of humanity then why do you call for a regional restructuring that will still include different tribes? Why not call for a restructuring that would see a single ethnic group live independently? Why are you supporting a kind of restructuring that will see the igbo, ijaw, kalabari, ibibio, ikwere etc still jumbled up as one?
Since unity can't be achieved even with the slightest diversity, why not call for a restructuring that will see the whole social until fragmented into the smallest possible entity? Perhaps to nuclear families or even individuals so that we can all live independently of one another.
For you to dare to ask, what if you placed religion above humanity or what if you placed success above humanity simply shows the depth of how shallow any human being could think.
Finally, you asked what the cultural or traditional values that makes us one are...
It might interest you to know that we were not born with the cultural and traditional values you speak of but we all learnt it from our environment and that is the more reason it is possible to find a common unifying factor that can make us coexist through teaching, learning, reorientation and proper enforcement of laws and orderliness.
Unity in in diversity! What does it mean exactly? Is it a concept, a thirty or a doctrine. If a musician coin the phrase Zazzu and it became popular jingle, does that makes it meaningful?
If some oratory politicians play with word and use the phrase "unity in diversity" as oxymoron in a speech or article, does that translate to unity? Have Nigeria ever be United, is there sign that it will be United in this generation?

Tinubu foisted Buhari on Nigerians few years ago. Now does he agree that Buhari failed woefully and he's coming to undo his many evils or is he coming to "carry on" the good works of a great leader?
How did Tinubu foisted Buhari on Nigeria. How can some presumed educated people be talking trash, shame no dey catch una for making such ridiculous and bogus claim.

Last I checked Nigerian is a multiparty state where we have over 50 parties that could produce the president of the country. Even when we have two major parties the population of eligible voters are more than 50millions.

Tinubu is a party member just like yourself with different level of infuence.

Every goal of a party member is for his party to win an election

If Tinubu, together with Atiku, Saraki, Ameachi and others worked for APC to win election, how is that a problem, why single out Tinubu out of many party leaders?

How does Tinubu forced 12million Nigerians to vote for APC?

What's other party doing when they could have tapped from huge population of eligible voters to defeat APC?

Does Tinubu capable of forcing you and your family to vote a party that's not your choice?

Voting APC and Buhari was a collective efforts of over 12million that voted him to power, narrowing it to Tinubu is clannish, deceitful and irresponsible.

It would have been interesting if you can focus on the content quality of a good leaders out of the candidates and not all these juveniles gist that add not value to the advancement of our democracy.

I have given you few of his outstanding achievement, now debunk any of them and bring forth superior quality of your candidate and let the public be the judge, leave irrelevancy and focus on issues, so that people would see the qualities in each of the candidates for us to vote a better candidate come 2023

Lagos is not a monocultural state, but it is a purely Yoruba state. Anyone who says otherwise is only fooling himself or herself.

However, there's a big difference between leading a state that solely belongs to a tribe and the entire country. Unlike Lagos, in every Nigerian state, everyone is his own god.

We should be asking why Babatunde Fashola was praised in Lagos as governor, but the moment he became a mega-minister, nobody felt his impact.

BTW, I prefer Osinbajo or Amaechi to Tinubu any day, anytime!
We are talking about the dexterity required to govern a state like Lagos with largest cosmopolitan nature and multicultural setting and someone is saying the place is monocultural and can't be used as yardstick for govening Nigeria. Nigeria suffered from the phenomenon known as the Oil Curse. It is the tendency, not unique to Nigeria, where a developing country gets sudden access to oil wealth, and it leads to the gradual neglect of other sectors of the economy, including hitherto booming sectors.

The good thing is that Nigeria has learnt from the experience, and is diversifying its economy away from oil, into other growing sectors like agriculture, manufacturing, the services, entertainment, etc.

YOUR JOB is to contribute to that diversification, as a member of the private sector, instead of wasting time and energy telling yourselves you are naturally wicked and inferior people with no redemption.

Firstly, it is ignorant beyond comprehension comparing a city, 'Dubai' to a country.

Do you even know that Dubai is a city and not a country?

How and why should Nigeria - country - look like the city of Dubai, you dumbass knucklehead?

And for those who know better, the UAE, of which Dubai is its capital, has a population of 9 million, yet is 7th in world oil exports, compared to Nigeria which is 11th.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_oil_production

UAE has three times Nigeria's oil reserves, and exports around 4 million barrels a day, compared to Nigeria's 1.7 million.

Nigeria has 220 million people to cater for.

UAE, 9 million.

Simple, basic mathematics shows It is the HEIGHT OF INSANITY AND IGNORANCE to say that Nigeria ought to be as prosperous as the UAE based on its oil revenue.
Let me burst you here before I go to bed.

You are quick to point out the comparative strength of Dubai but ignored the strength of Nigeria in areas of Population, land mass, rich culture, large deposit mineral resources , human resources etc. All of which command more value than oil.

The point you raised are circumstances that can influence country development but they are not the ultimate factor of growth

The ultimate to countries growth lies in it's leadership and the citizen, other factors could only aid in fastracking or slow down the growth.

In Nigeria's case the country is retrogressing rather than growing and all the point you listed are not responsible for our pathetic state

I'm old enough to be your dad, and know far more about the world and its history than you.

If you think Nigeria is a ''failed country'', you are clearly a historical illiterate, who can't see beyond his own nose, because a nation that is barely half a century into independence is just at the beginning of its existence. She therefore cannot be pronounced ''failed'' any more than a three year old baby can be said to have failed in life for stumbling.
What is your definition of a failed state.

Because the world definition by UN of a failed state fits Nigeria of today

A failed state is a political body that has disintegrated to a point where basic conditions and responsibilities of a sovereign government no longer function properly (see also fragile state and state collapse). A state can also fail if the government loses its legitimacy even if it is performing its functions properly. For a stable state, it is necessary for the government to enjoy both effectiveness and legitimacy. Likewise, when a nation weakens and its standard of living declines, it introduces the possibility of total governmental collapse. The Fund for Peace characterizes a failed state as having the following characteristics:

Loss of control of its territory, or of the monopoly on the legitimate use of physical force
Erosion of legitimate authority to make collective decisions
Inability to provide public services
Inability to interact with other states as a full member of the international community

.in fact Lagos is a microcosm of Nigeria that is why most of the template of governance was copied from Lagos State.

For example IPP was first conceived in Lagos before it was adopted as a template to build other power projects across the country

Similarly the Nigeria tax collection agency was transformed to FIRS using the template of Lagos tax system

The civil service biometric system was copied from the template used by Lagos State government in 2000.

I also agree with you that there is no perfect society anywhere in the world, but you too would agree that some climes are definitely saner than others and I believe that is what every sound mind should look forward to.
Back to your question in bold
Mind restructuring in this context simply means to place our minds in a state of awareness that humanity should be placed above everything else in the existential hierarchy of mankind. The awareness that not just our own interest, but other people's interests matters as well.
Things would be different if we could first of all see humanity before we see our ethnic or religious differences. This can only be achieved by going back to the drawing board to teach the younger generation the importance of humanity and a judicious enforcement of law and orderliness amongst the older generation without fear or favour.
Considering the current nigerian situation, regional restructuring can't be as effective as many people think with the kind of orientation we currently have because even if the social unit is as small as a nuclear family, it will still be in total chaos if our minds are not structured to see humanity first before anything else. This is because the problem of majority and minority will continue to persist except you are only craving for restructuring where your tribe will be the majority.
The man from Anambra considers himself to be more igbo than the man from Enugu.
The man from Oyo considers himself to be more Yoruba than the man from Osun.
Engage the Igala man from Kogi and tell him you heard Kogi people eat dog and he will simply tell you it's not a common practice among them but the Yoruba people in Kogi west.
Tell the Bende LG man that you were told Abia people eat humans and watch him point fingers at the people of Isialangwa and vice versa.
Stop preaching what is not applicable in real life. There is nothing like seen yourself as the next man to you.

Even your point corroborated it as we are majorly influenced by our environment. There is Igbo identity, Yoruba, Igala Hausa Fulani identity, but what is Nigeria identity?

What are the cultural and traditional values that makes us one?

Don't mention religion or Nigeria state because all that are products of foreigners, Nigeria people can never be one as there is no orientation that would erase the natural inborn trait that makes us different.

Why do we continue to lie to ourselves when the problem is staring us in the face?

Why don't we agree that our foundation is faulty and we are not one and if we want to agree to live together should be our collective decision?

Why do we term the creation of white as an act of God? What is difficult in peaceful agreement or peaceful dissolution?

Why should we continue to allow our people to be killed because of one Nigeria? Who is really benefitting from one Nigeria?

Now who told you that conform with my belief? What if I placed religion above humanity based on my belief and culture, what if I placed success above humanity? Is there a general consensus for your assertion? This is where the problem lies, we understand things differently based on whom we are as different people. Unless we come to term with our differences and agree based on our own terms, then we would not have any headway as a country.

Nigeria is a country of different nation, to agree to be a country, the nation's must agree on their terms, that should be the foundation where every other things are build, the foundation of a family is marriage, which is agreement between husband and wife to come together

This is a very brilliant thought. Let all politicians be subject to an independent value based political scorecard. It shouldn't be by crowd choice to avoid the usual vote buying. Unless we get to this honest standpoint, we won't be able to distinguish between wheat and chaff in Nigerian politics.
Tinubu can be seen to be innovative and pioneer of major good standard of governance.

He was the first to embark on independent power project.

The first to create additional new Local government

The first to create RRS that other state later adopted similar security outift

The first to state sanitation mechanism known as LAWMA

Also embarked on state traffic outfit called LASMA

Also he is the initiator of BRT with over 400 buses imported before his tenure.

First state government to embark on rehabilitation of Federal road to later be reimbursed by the FG

He initiated BRT lane within existing lane in a crowded state like Lagos state

He revive metroline that was only a project on paper by the previous government

Initiate Eko Atlantic City

First to initiate free trade zone in Nigeria that later pave way for Dangote refinery.

He raised Lagos IGR from paltry 600m to over 2billion before the end of his tenure as Lagos governor

While doing all these, he was in the opposition with little or no support from the Federal government. He also shouldered the responsibility of providing political support to other SW state up to Edo state to reclaim their mandate

Most importantly, he created and nurtured a political party that now became APC the ruling party, he even gave Atiku platform to contest in his party, the other person he provided platform to contest in his party is Ribadu both are northerners.

The Nigeria we have today is a product of our collective attitude as a people not just a tribe or region.
Bad leadership and followership exists whether in the north or south of Nigeria.
Bad roads, poor healthcare delivery, unemployment, corruption, poverty, poor educational system etc, are all prevalent in every region in Nigeria.

More important than anything else, we should be calling for a restructuring of our minds to build an egalitarian society because there can't be unity without equity.
A society where people accept responsibility for their actions.
A society where monkey dey work and monkey dey chop.
And lastly, a society void of greed, where people understand the difference between want and need.
Imagine somebody accumulating wealth they can barely spend in 10 lifetimes while others remain hungry and poverty stricken because a few persons have decided to hoard what was meant for all for themselves alone.
Just look at the way you tactically dodge the main topic. Which one is restructure of the mind? The utopia nation you see in your dream is not in existence in any part of the world.

Human are created to be selfish, stubborn and lazy, it is the society through law and order that shape and control citizen behaviour.

Nigeria need outright restructure where equity and fairness would be the standard rule.
