Tinubu is a big thief

This is not about PDP or APC, its about voting an intellectual, visonary and purpose driven man to govern lagos not people that will have to bow to some greedy godfathers like tinubu. Even fashola's candidate lost woefully.

I just hope that jimi is not assassinated like "funsho williams". When it was sure that PDP will take over lagos because funsho was the most popular candidate then, he was killed. Fashola had no chance against funsho williams in 2007. Tinubu is too obsessed with power but this time he will loose ijn.

The Igbo community is solidly behind Jimmy Agbaje. Go take a look at Alaba international market, Ladipo market, computer village, trade fair etc and you'll begin to wonder where our billions of tax remittance to Lagos state is going to. We are tired of APC propaganda, we need REAL change and development in our bussiness environment. Enough of Tinubu chokehold on Lagos state treasury. Enough of Tinubu's touts harrassing our containers, bussinesses and customers. Enough of Agbero, Alaye, NURTW, Owo Tinubu / Fashola collectors in Lagos. We deserve some sanity in our markets.
Like the way Anambrian rejected Ngige despite his popularity so also Lagosian will reject Agbaje.

The just concluded PDP primary shows that the election where 806 were accredited but ended up in 863 votes cast. Is this how PDP will rig the Gubernatorial election?.

Lagos will not be infested with PDP non performance, never. No matter how good we may look at Jimi, joining a party like PDP will not add value to his status in Lagos state. Many of you that are optimistic about PDP winning in Lagos State will be disappointed when the chips are down.

A person of Jimi Agbaje does not have anything in common with PDP and joining such party will make him loose popularity among the Lagosian, this was how Obanikoro fame wane at the wake of his romance with PDP after he decamped from AD to PDP at the Senate.

The reality on ground today has proved that PDP is being rejected in totality, why did Obanikoro failed the primary?, the same with Maku and Wogu all who served as minister under president Goodluck Jonathan, but for my amiable Jimi his popularity will begin to nosedive and eventually go into oblivion unless he quickly retrace his step which i think is rather to late.

Though the future is bleak, Nigeria with the right leadership can survive it because of our natural and human endowment, sadly this alone does not translate to economic boom, there should be immediate and aggressive diversification into agriculture in the short-run that at least will reduce the tension and the effect of the chaos.

While doing that the service sector should be strengthened to accommodate the teaming educated elite. Developmental infrastructures such as 80% electricity supply should be achieved within the next four years to sustain small enterprises. With the right policy, infrastructural loan can be paid in the next 20year while other sectors would have replaced oil that will only be retain for local consumption

This is a very interesting post which may not be far from the truth, should there be a connection between Chad producing and refining oil and increase in insurgency in North east, then Nigeria should go into war with these countries who have been breeding these militants and let the whole war see foreign government that will take sides. But i dont see this government taking a bold step

There is no doubt that incoming president has a load of work to do in area of tackling economic crises that is lurking.

Will the government able to arrest inflation from clocking 20% before the expiration of his tenure.

Will the government be able to curtail the insurgence that will eventually spread south?

Can any meaningful infrastructure be achieved in the next dispensation?

How will the government cope with budget deficit?

What about impending massive layoff that the civil service will experience?

How will the 36 states adjust to this sudden shock but brute reality?

Will this bring an end to corruption?

Whatever the question is, Nigeria will no longer remain the same again either for better or for worse, and the only alternative is to vote responsibly come 2015, despite the fact that we have very few leaders who can make a change, but to me the task ahead is beyond the grasp of this present government

I want government out of petroleum down stream sector, because they enable corruption and cause more problems, than help the sector.

I want subsides removed, because it has killed too many jobs, stopped innovation and created a band of briefcase billionaire.

Remove subsidy, give states the money so they can provide free food in primary and secondary schools, plus a national retirement program for all people above the age of 65 in their different regions.

Government has no business in the petroleum sector, period. Besides acting as a regulator.

Petroleum subsidy as it is today, is a tax on the poor.
Will total removal of subsidy kill subsidy cabal? No

If you agree with me, these oil thieves will simply find another means of sucking vulnerable Nigerians

I find the Janjaweedian Apeeshit apologists to be unusually bereft of simple common sense ( I am not even talking about complicated things like Economics here). Are they pretending to be daft or do they think that the electorate is daft? Now, I would have thought that after the shellacking in Ekiti and narrow escape in Osun, our friends will have realized the futility of their tactics.

I am utterly gob smacked that anyone will think that taxing the populace more ruthlessly (while giving your party chief a huge cut of the said tax) is the ultimate measure of good governance. What happened to measures like school enrolment, performance in standardized tests, access to clean water and sewage facilities, affordable housing, primary health facilities amongst others? It's not how much you can steal from the impoverished masses as IGR that should count but what you actually achieve with the funds.

Put simply, the government doesn't create any money or wealth by taxing me more. It is therefore very interesting that Lagos and other Apeeshit states are also the most indebted in the country. Talk about the classic "tax and spend" socialists. It's even more ironic that states like Anambra under Peter "Nkume" Obi, despite having lower IGR were able to save more and even lend to some of our "high performing" Apeeshit "wunderkinds".
Who is talking about overtax?

The same people that are agitating for Jonathan to completely remove the fuel subsidy?

The same people that can afford the price of petrol even if its sold at N200

We will continue to puncture saTANist lies,

Can we then conclude that you enjoy being over taxed

Tell me reasons that would make a sane human run from a tax free region to the one that want to tax him to death

The recent decline in Nigeria's oil revenue has now exposed the lies put forward by the managers of our economy since 1999 and particularly in the past 5years, whose only economic achievement has been the re-base which now placed it ahead of SA, nonetheless an average Nigerian cannot feel the impact of broaden economy in their lives. While the wool has been pulled out of Nigerians who now see how they have been deceived, misled and cajoled into believing that we have been making progress, the rest saTANist who are wandering on this forum in an attempt to water down the achievement of Lagos increased IGR championed by Tinubu and Fashola are only on a futile mission with their comments laced with envy, they should rather channel their energy to their respective governors who has been using their money to play KALOKALO to come and learn from Lagos how IGR is being generated

I'm only drawing comparison with OBJ because of his high handedness and his lack of respect for the constitution, but yet some morons still praise him as the best leader.

Well,

In my opinion, the problem is not with impunity, or the president, but the problem is with US, who chose to accept this system that favours only those evil people we have in our government.... The constitution, the system has been created to benefit less than 30% of the country, until we say NO to this system and come up with an alternative solution which is more Pro-people rather than Pro-politicians, we will see worse things happen in this democracy...

The result of this political system is only being felt by the poor people... for instance look at the police brutality and military oppression, or BOKO Haram... have they killed any rich influential politicianhuh?

when you answer my quetions, you will get the solution to this problem... its Not GEJ's fault either,. GEJ is only protecting his interests just as Tambuwal did by defecting to APC after using PDP to advance his goal.... hypocrites are normally jailed or hanged.
There is no any perfect system in the world over, we can only improve on what we have, but since your preferred government has chosen to take path of impunity, this is what we get.

The best way out of this national embarrassment is to vote this present PDP government out of power to serve as a lesson to other party that will take over

right... it sounds unfair, but then we ask ourselves, what is fair??

when Tambuwal sought the ticket for the House of Rep, he should have told PDP that he will defect when he no longer is in favour... but like humans always do, they act according to what is right for them.

so GEJ also is protecting his interest by sending sss to the parliament.

The so called system we call democracy is NOT WORKING... its only benefitting less than 25% of the country.
The system has turned politicians into a pack of power hungry people looking out for their interest, instead of the intesrest of the nation..
its only gona get better when we decide not to put up with this system any longer... APC/PDP/SDP/AGPA they really all same...
It seems your mind is already made up ..... When has decamping become a crime in Nigeria?
Is there any portion of the constitution that prohibit decamping?
So many people have decamped from APC, PDP, APGA, LP into different parties of their choice in the past and heaven didn't fall, so why is PDP getting intimidated this time around

When almost 98% of the govt's expenditure depends solely on oil revenue, if the oil price crashes, why won't the currency crash?

I wish we had saved enough for the rainy days, as been shouted by mrs Iweala in the past.
Many people are just defending without no justification, you said govt expenditure depends on oil revenue, why was dollar remain stagnant at oil peak when the price of oil stood at $108 for most of 4 years of Jonathan government? Yet during this period external reserve has been severely depleted to defend our weak naira. The point is simple, government is not getting economic policy right, unfortunately there is little anybody can do to salvage the situation rather than result to prayer that the price of oil should shore up
