tinkinjow:You have indeed been thinking with your jaw |
Pls Mr Ab1x and other concerned nlers, i just come across one of Mr Ab1x old post in another topic, kindly explain what you mean by this statement please: " It is important to note that rearing fishes in concrete pond is zero unlike in the earthen pond which is times two of your investment." Does it mean that rearing fish in concrete pond will not yield profit if the management and feeding is right? |
omode2:Thank for your advice, i have abandoned the pump for sometimes and i think it could still be useful. Besides i only want to use that as backup when i eventually start |
For the people that are going frenzy because of Tambuwal defection, this is the release from House of Representatives declaring that Tambuwal remains the Speaker; "The House of Representatives yesterday reacted to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s, position that the Speaker, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, should resign following his defection to the All Progressives Congress, APC. The House said that there were no bases for that since Tambuwal was elected as Speaker by his colleagues. It explained that the Speakership of the House, or any other national elective position, belongs to Nigerians and not the political platforms upon which such leaders emerge. A statement by the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs Matters, Hon. Victor Afam Ogene, stated that nobody could regulate the operation and procedure of the House from outside. He expressed concern that less than 24 hours after Tambuwal’s defection, individuals, party chieftains and groups had gone on frenzy, dishing out varied interpretations to the decision. He said: “Many of these commentators, rather than correctly stating what the true position of the law and the House rules are, take delight in advertising ignorance of both with some even advocating a recourse to anarchy as a way of achieving what they imagine ought to be the ‘solution’ to the issue. “Following several inquiries by journalists and some members of the public, it is easy to narrow the concerns to two key issues. One, whether Speaker Tambuwal ought to vacate his seat as representative of Kebbe/ Tambuwal Federal Constituency, Sokoto State, by virtue of Section 68 (1) (g), of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution, as amended; and two, if he shouldn’t step down as Speaker, having defected from the majority party in the House to a minority platform.” The lawmaker also explained that on the first issue, it was common knowledge that following the defection of 37 members of the House in December 2013 from the PDP to APC, there had been multiple court cases on the matter, rendering it subjudice to discuss any likely outcome. He, however, advised Nigerians to await final judicial pronouncement on the issue of defection, which had afflicted virtually all political parties. Citing the case of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who as a sitting Vice- President moved to another political party, Ogene stated the vicepresident did not get judicial reprobation for the act. He added that the clear provisions of Section 50(1) (b) of the Nigerian Constitution easily settle the worries regarding the continued Speakership of Tambuwal. Quoting the law, he said: “There shall be a Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives who shall be elected by the members of that House from among themselves. “It would, therefore, amount to an affront on members’ privilege to question their constitutionallyguaranteed right to freely elect their leader. “Additionally, Order 1 Rule 1 (2) of the Standing Orders of the House of Representatives states: “In all cases not provided for hereinafter, or by sectional or other orders, precedents or practices of the House, the House shall by resolution regulate its procedure. “It is in the light of the foregoing that the House wishes to appeal to those who seek to “regulate its procedure” from outside its hallowed chambers to have a rethink, as the nation’s Constitution, the Standing Orders of the House and precedent – as in the Speakership of the late Hon. Edwin Ume-Ezeoke in the Second Republic on a minority platform – have all provided answers to what would have otherwise been a knotty political issue.” |
Aksonman:Bro, action of government is clear case of breach of rule of law? Do you know that every elected representative is not responsible to the executive but to the constituency as the primary subject and the public as secondary? If you agree with the above statement, executives cannot and should not override the office of any legislator It is the members of the hallow chamber that made him speaker and not the Presidency It was the constituency that elected Tambuwal to represent them. My point is this, the power to deal with Tambuwal [if he erred] resides with his fellow member and his constituents |
publisher:@ Bolded, allow the court to determine that anything outside that is impunity |
The implication of FG action can be dangerous, what if anything happen to Tambuwal after this withdrawal, when we all know that security situation in this country is terrible? How will the government prove its innocence? |
This is not the first time a legislator of Federal Republic of Nigeria will decamp from one party to another, nothing happened when Obanikoro decamped then from AD to PDP, recent decamp by Gov. Mimiko and his co travellers in Ondo house of Assembly into PDP was equally applauded by PDP sympathizers, why the beef because Tambuwal decamped. This shows that PDP under the leadership of President GEJ has exhausted all its strategy to dismantle the opposition to no avail. This is a clear show of impunity and highhandedness, it is now getting clearer what Jonathan government meant for this nation, but someone should tell him that if he cannot reform he should not destroy. Shikena |
PDP has always been number one breaker of law, they profess the rule of law yet be the first to break it. Why cant FG uses judiciary to propagate its course, while resulting to this shame of inferiority in order to prove a point. |
Sutsillac:Thank you bros, I intend using the well to "test run" and conduct practical on what i have learned so far, and possibly for hatchery. I suspect i need to fixed FOOT VALVE to the pumping machine for it to pump. I will fixed by weekend and post the result. |
Sloan:I will vote either of them as VP, however i concur with your submission |
vicadex07:Leadership at all level has failed the masses of this country, however there are few exceptional who standout among the crowd to prove their worth, BRF readily comes to mind. The way and manner Lagos government responded to Ebola outbreak makes me conclude that if given opportunity at the national level could springs surprises. He is one of the few we can rely on to tame the crises bedeviling power sector in 2015 if we so desire improvement of this sector. It equally shows that the problem of this country is not the followers but leaders because a responsible government will always be supported by the followers just like Nigerian supported her government to purge the country of the deadly Ebola |
Looking at the crowd i must say this in my mother language, Wee wee is shaking me! |
Sepp360:I quite agree with your statement above and i think the fear of being contacted spurred our government into taking decisive action But epileptic electricity aint a virus, and it can't kill an african man.[/quote] No, do you know the number of people that died daily because of lack of electricity to powered hospital equipment in case of emergency? Do you know that people are poor not because of laziness, ignorant or education but because the society lack basic amenities i.e electricity that could have made them vibrant? Do you know the number of sacked people that are dying daily of hunger because their employer fold up for lack of electricity? Why do you think the average life expectancy of Africans is less than 60years? this is as a result of many factors of which electricity cannot be downplayed |
How come Nigerian Government was able to contain Ebola spread and eventually eliminate this deadly virus within few weeks but fail to fixed our electricity problem that has been killing majority of Nigerians indirectly for lack of employment. Does it means that Ebola knows no strata but the elite can survive without fixing the nation's power problem through the provision of powerful generators which they bought for themselves at the expense of the masses? Does it mean our government {Federal + State} genuinely fought Ebola to a standstill or it was borne out of fear of being contacted? Could one wish electricity is viewed as deadly as Ebola? Then the electricity problem will be a solve within one year. What is your take? |
Tbagwell1:That means catfish production will be profitable in Abuja with the right management as Oga Robonski pointed out irrespective of the high cost of production, right? |
Pls how can Gasolin [Petrol] Water Pump be used to pump water from a well? The type of the water pump is the one normally used to pump water from river. Any idea from members of the house please. robonski15:Thank you bro for your response |
excelsiorfarm:Yes i quite agree with you that large amount of catfish consumed in Abuja is being imported from, south, i.e., Lagos, Ibadan, Ogbomosho etc. Does that not explained my fear that catfish business is less profitable in the north? Or do we agree that there are limited fish farmers in and around abuja? As well as limited knowledge to manipulate production to maximise profit? |
Ttalk:Your opinion on the above question is welcome |
Good analysis, wonder why people detest fact, either they likes it or not GMB will win 2015 election |
sleekp1:You cant be serious, are you? |
Ibnsultan:That's exactly what i've been thinking |
firstolalekan:Welcome, but your sincere contribution |
• One thing you didn’t know about Gen Buhari • Jonathan’s Damage Reputation • Buhari collect 10% of the supposed past president’s salary • Why did Buhari jailed Jakande etc • What collateral did Buhari used in obtaining bank loan • Team Buhari is being officially unveiled • Buhari and Idiagbon • Jonathan easiest to opponent to defeated • Nairaland poll: Jonathan / Buhari • Buhari’s Supreme Millitary Council • Will Buhari accept defeat this time around • Buhari and NYSC in the North • One mistake Buhari will make again • The crime of Buhari • Why Buhari will never be Nigeria President • Mohammed Buhari by Femi Aribisala • Jonathan Reshuffles Cabinet • Re: TeamGEJ is officially being unveiled • Nairaland poll: Jonathan / Buhari • The North is not afraid of GEJ anymore • Facing Fact about President Jonathan • Withdraw from Presidential Race –Gumi warns Buhari • Buhari’s Cabinet in 1984 • How 25billion was stolen under Buhari • General Buhari on the Lips of Nigerians • Fulani cattle breeders to mobilise for Jonathan • Calling all muslim to vote for GEJ in 2015 • Please what Has our President actually done wrong The above topics on GEJ and GMB are currently being discussed by nairalanders in all part of the world. The two personalities being discussed want to contest the presidential ticket of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the platform of their party PDP and APC respectively. Could it have been the fear of GMB that prompt higher discussion than the incumbent or his popularity, your genuine contribution please without bashing |
Ikengawo:I used to believe you are one the finesse and critical thinkers of Nairaland until this your submission. How can you be blinded with hate? What do you have to say about IBB, Obansanjo, Gowon and Abubakar who ruled this country as military leader |
I know GMB has been a man with integrity but can never believe he could have done this for his country. This is a great sacrifice, and i hope this is true, then i will put all my effort to bring on board our own "MANDELA" |
Complexalfa:Read the topic and link it with your comment, Abi you are possessed with sa-TAN spirit? |
Can this come from Asari Dokubo? |
Having read up to this page i can say that i have completed my Fishery 101 and thanks must be giving to the gurus in the house who make this discussion robust, educative and informative, thanks to Robonski 15, Exellecorfarm, Abx 1, Juve farm, Phemmy, Ayosat and other gurus in the house. This has led me into going into next stage by seeking practical consultation within my area in Abuja to know the viability of the business, this led me to a consultant with a degree in Fishery who express his reservation on fish farming in this part of the country for following reasons: According to him, 1. Fish business is more viable in the south compare to north 2. Earthen pond is better than concrete pond because of its ability to absorb wastes and less usage of water 3. The cost of foreign feeds has increased from N2500 to over N5000 in the last 10years without the correspondent increase in the cost of fish 4. The profit after the cost of feed does not measure with the input and labour 5. The same amount of input would generate more returns when ventured into poultry Although most his concerned have been discussed in the post above, yet the different in location south/north could make a big different in success or failure of catfish business. While i believe there exist different means of maximising profit among fish farmers in the south by the usage of local and formulated feed to reduce the expenses and increase the profit because of the availability of the components in different parts of the south, the same cannot be said about fish farmers in Abuja who largely depend on foreign feeds from inception to maturity. How can a farmer in Abuja make profit despite the huge cost of foreign feed and non availability of local component to formulate local feeds that are less expensive? Please i need answered to the questions from the farmers in Abuja and environs and other gurus i.e. Robonski, Exellecorfirm, Abx 1 and others who have been genuinely impacting, educating and sharing their knowledge free of charge on this forum I intend rearing learning hatching to get my seed to be stocked in 2 10X10 concrete ponds beginning from January Also when digging a borehole what should be the needed water level for catfish rearing, i heard of something like [neutral] dont really understand it Also what is the cost effect of flow through system over concrete pond that uses aerator to supply the needed oxygen |
