Politics › Re: Without Lagos & Rivers: Check The VAT Generated By Each Geopolitical Zone by Ttalk: 8:11am On Dec 24, 2025 |
Irony1: VAT is not an indicator of wealth especially in a state with lower GDP and higher VAT. Clearly it is a symptom of over taxation. Please stop the deceit. Apart from the farms and the few industries, even industries like P&G have since scaled down their factory in Ibadan. You cannot compare Oyo with Anambra as there are more industry drivers in Anambra than Oyo. Again concerning the lower VAT rate in Anambra it is easily explainable as a large proportion of the businesses in Anambra are informal SMEs. Again if you must know the largest market in West Africa by trading volume is in Anambra which is Onitsha main market, and rhe bulk of the trades is informal so VAT is not captured there. So it is foolhardy that you will use VAT as an yardstick when the real economic indicator is GDP and per capita income. I just smile each time I see some people spew this ignorance on SM |

AMINDA: Later, Tinubu supporters will try to exonerate Tinubu from attempts to destroy the PDP and every other political party. Tinubu was involved from day one and it had his blessings. Why else would Makinde and Wike be meeting secretly with Tinubu in the presence of Gbajabiamila? Tinubu undemocratically schemed out Obi and Jonathan from contesting under LP and PDP while posturing as the "Southern candidate" when the South clearly did not vote him in 2023.
The Wike we all know would have been calling for his own media chat 24 hours after this. Unfortunately, the Lagos GAC have placed him on a media embargo, which is one of the worst things that have been done to Wike. You don't want Tinubu to destroy the opposition but you are here trying fruitlessly to destroy APC |
Politics › Re: LG Autonomy: Tinubu Threatens Govs With Direct FAAC Deductions by Ttalk: 11:03am On Dec 23, 2025 |
fergie001: We have to mix it because Osun is a State.
The impunity he is carrying out in Osun is part of what emboldens the other Governors to do as they so wish. He who comes to equity must do so with clean hands.
Now, if the Governors have threatened the LG EXCOs not to open accounts, will the EO override threats? What have stopped this President since over a year of the SC judgement from deducting LG allocations from money he sends to Governors? Does he need an EO to do that? Please, if you have his ears, tell him to begin deduction first thing in January, place in an escrow account until LG EXCO send their account numbers. The President have ears of all Nigerians, he listen to critiques and draws genuine solution from their contributions. The president has reversed some decisions that didn't go well with the general public just the way he has insisted on some policies that serves as necessary pill we can't afford not to take. Surely, the EO will be implemented next year, it is now left for the public to put pressure on the their state governors to do the needful, where the president have played his part, we should compel the state governors to play their parts too and not heap the blame of the governors on the president |
Politics › Re: LG Autonomy: Tinubu Threatens Govs With Direct FAAC Deductions by Ttalk: 10:06am On Dec 23, 2025 |
fergie001: I didn't speak French or Hindu. Go back to what you quoted.
Once the SC gives a judgement, what's next is implementation. The President doesn't need to warn, cajole or threaten, they were parties to the suit and the SC was clear. One would have thought he had started implementation before now, i.e. crediting the LGs directly, instead he hasn't.
How do credit accounts that is not opened.
The Governors have threatened the council chairman against opening account with the CBN for direct disbursement of LG fund, that's what necessitates the Executive order that the president want to apply.
Don't mix this with Osun matter, we can discuss that in a separate thread when you create one. Again, as I speak to you the President through his AGF is carrying out impunity in Osun, he should focus on that more. Instead of implementing court judgements, he is choosing which to obey and even as I speak his minions whose tenure has expired since October, assuming without conceding ab inito they were even "properly" elected, are still parading themselves as LG Chairmen and Councillors, he needs some introspection and not warning or threat of an EO. |

fergie001: Oga, what about Osun LG funds? Are you going to sign an EO against yourself?
The SC gave a judgement, you don't need an EO to so enforce. Check the post above for your answer. It seems Nigerians have developed a syndrome that makes them blame Tinubu for everything and for the sins of others. While the OP above blame Tinubu for what the governors failed to implement, you are here blaming the president for a threat to use executive order, because the Supreme Court has ruled on the matter and president should not carryout an executive order on the LG fund. What do you guys want the president to do exactly? |

AMINDA: You are not a monarch to be issuing threats. The supreme Court already ruled on this. You do not need the governors consent to abide by the law. Instead, he used it as a bargaining chip to get virtually all of them to decamp to the APC. Now he's pretending to talk tough just to press the mumu buttons of gullible Agbadorians. Seriously you are not making sense at all. When PDP where your Atiku holds sway as Vice President, the governors were treating the Council. Chairmen as their employee and.slave, your beloved Atiku couldn't surmon courage to pursue the case and ensure the LG chairmen have legal right to their money. Now that Tinubu government have won the case at the supreme court, you are lamenting and making baseless point, is this what you will use to campaign and win election im 2027? Tinubu is the best President Nigeria have ever voted for and it's beginning to get clearer even to the opposition who initially got carried away by the media noise from the opposition |
