Njoku Macdonald Obinna ground breaking ceremony for the Nkwoebu Market you claimed to have attracted was only made on April 16 in an afterthought sort of manner while the 2021 Budget was passed in December 2020. Except you are the rat who fixed it into the budget after your groundbreaking ceremony, I am of the opinion that you have your facts highly altered. You have just shot at yourself and this clearly shows you are just a purveyor of negativity. If you were smart you would rejoice that more projects will be sited at the market and pray it blooms like Ariaria market Aba, which is still undergoing expansion. It is also sad that you do not know that there is a difference between Abba Health Centre and Ogwuaga Health Centre which you swore for years that OZB did nothing at but accept today that he actually attended to that Hospital. This shows that you are indeed a stranger in Abba if you do not know this. It is sad that after two years you are still convulsing yourself with OZB and his projects. One thing here is that you have accepted that OZB worked in the Eight years he spent and put in place quality projects unlike the toy-toys you photo op for. Well, you remain a lost soul and I will forever pray that you do not die from CARDIAC ARREST because of OZB.

In what seems to be response to the public outcry on the provision of the Companies & Allied Matters Act 2020 , the Member representing Nkwerre/Isu/Nwagele & Njaba Federal constituency of Imo state Hon Ugonna Ozurigbo has proposed an amendment to section 839 of the Companies & Allied Matters Act.

In a memo submitted to the office of the Honourable Speaker, Hon Ozurigbo had requested for listing of the Bill for first reading.

It is hoped that this intervention will be able to address the concerns of Nigerians and the Christian Association of Nigeria on the Act.

It will be recalled that the Vice President had advised CAN to adopt the Constitutional approach of addressing their concern by approaching the National Assembly for an Amendment.

It is hoped that the Nigerian House of Representatives will give the Bill the desired attention it requires upon resumption.

Politics / Supreme Court Validates Candidature Of Ex Imo Deputy Speaker by tufur24(m): 2:43pm On Sep 24, 2019
Supreme Court Validates Candidature of Ex Imo Deputy Speaker.

The Supreme Court sitting in Abuja this morning validated the primary process that brought in Hon. Ozurigbo Ugonna as the APC candidate for Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba of Imo State

The sitting today was supposed to be a continuation of 3 appeals brought before the highest court of the land by Barr. Harrison Nwadike against the candidature of Hon. Ozurigbo Ugonna.

In consequence to the drama that followed the inability of the Appellant to adequately defend their filed appeals and the preliminary objection from the respondents that the suit at the Federal High Court was commenced in disobedience to Court rules, the Supreme Court Justices led by Justice Bode Rhodes-Vivour unanimously agreed that the appeals had been commenced wrongly at the Federal High Court stating that they do not have the jurisdiction to hear the appeal.

Although no fine was asked for nor any imposed, the Justices rightly noted that all parties involved in the suit had laboured in vain right from the trial court.

Speaking to members of the press after the court ruling was made public, the former Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly noted that he never lost faith in the courts knowing that at the right time the truth based on verifiable facts will eventually manifest.

The House Committee Chairman on Justice praised his wife, family, friends and supporters who prayed day and night for victory adding that he was determined more than ever to see the federal constituency gain the dividends of the democracy it craves for.

Xenophobic Attacks: Federal Lawmaker Calls For Revenge Against South Africa

The member representing Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency of Imo State, Rt. Hon. Ozurigbo Ugonna, has called for immediate revenge on the sovereign state of South Africa on account of the recent xenophobic attacks which broke out in the former Apartheid State.

Reacting to a motion raised on the floor of the house on The Inhuman nature and Inhuman Activities Called Xenophobic Attacks By South Africans, on Tuesday, the former Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly stated that there was need to carry out a well strategized revenge on South Africa following the xenophobic attacks.

He called on the federal government to revenge now not necessarily by cutting ties with the country but by sitting down with stakeholders to discuss how to build a better and productive Nigeria that will become the cynosure of all eyes like it used to be.

The All Progressives Congress lawmaker recalled that in the early 70s Nigeria was a better place that attracted foreigners but adduced that some of the foreigners chased away from Nigeria went home to build their countries, giving an example of Ghana and Malaysia.

"We need to build a better Nigeria, you can see, Nigrians are now running off to Kigali which was popular for the genocide that occurred there, for holiday" Hon. Ozurigbo said.

Further more, the House Committee Chairman on Justice noted that since the South African government is yet to clearly prove that the attacks won't reoccur, the need to create a better lasting option is the best solution to the maltreatment of Nigerians abroad.

In an emotional laden voice he reiterated that Nigerians are still optimistic about the future which he identified was evidenced as the returnees from South Africa took to singing the National Anthem, insisting that it was a rallying call which needed to be heeded to by the leaders of the nation.

Hon. Ozurigbo also took time to appreciate the owner of Air Peace, Mr. Allen Onyema for his patriotic display as he made available his airline for the rescue of Nigerians stranded in the south African nation.

Tribunal Dismisses Petition Against Ex Imo Deputy Speaker

Chidiebube Okeoma

The Election Petitions Tribunal in Owerri has struck out the petition brought before it by Kingsley Echendu of the Peoples Democratic Party challenging the declaration of the immediate past Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Ugonna Ozurigbo, as the winner of the February 23 Nkwerre/Nwangele/Isu/Njaba federal constituency poll.

Ozurigbo contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

The judge criticised Echendu for claiming there was no election in some wards in the federal constituency and later claimed there was overvoting in the same wards.

In striking out the petition, the tribunal said there were glaring inconsistencies in the petitioner’s claims.

Ozurigbo, who hailed the ruling, called for Echendu’s support to move the constituency forward.

The Imo State Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo has made a case for the stiff adherence to tax payment by citizens of the country.

This was made known to newsmen at the Ehime Mbano LGA Headquarters where the charismatic legislator visited to acquaint himself with the level of development at the local government.

While speaking to the workers at the Local Government premises, he explained that it was time for government to instigate more efficient means of collecting that taxes, adding that for a state like Imo which has the lowest IGR in the country it has become requisite for the state to up the ante on the improvement of IGR in order to sustain the various projects of the present administration.

“You can't imagine that a state like Imo with the numerous projects aimed at enhancing the lives of citizens has a very minute contribution from taxes. It is only the state workers that pay any form of tax,” he enthused.

Ozurigbo reiterated that to sustain projects, like the free education and various road projects, parents and Imolites in general should inculcate the habit of paying taxes to government.

Continuing, the charismatic legislator argued that in this time of economic hardship citizens are expected to help the government help them by doing the right thing which is ensuring that their taxes are paid as at when due to help facilitate the various projects of the Governor.

He urged the staff of the LGA to continue to do their best to support the Owelle Rochas Okorocha led government by making sure they play their own part in their various posts.
