Sports / Photos: Imo Deputy Speaker To Build Mini Stadium In His Constituency by tufur24(m): 8:05pm On Apr 09, 2016
Following his love for sports and a vow to promote and empower youths in the society, the ebullient Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Ugonna Ozurigbo (Enyioha 1 of Umuozu), has concluded plans to build a mini stadium in his hometown of Umuozu in Nwangele LGA, Imo State. According to an interview he had with yours trully in January, he made it clear that accomplishing such a project was dear to his heart, adding that he noticed that sports was a lucrative business that could keep youths self sustained. Continuing he added that the mini stadium when completed could attract clubs like Heartland to play in it when their home stadium is unavailable which will be added icing to the cake as business will boom.
The young legislator hoped that all stakeholders in the community would come together to make sure the dream became a reality.

PLEASE this is a MUST-DO for us PEOPLE!!!!!
I PLEAD on his behalf!!!!
Paul Arisa is a 27 year old post NYSC and a graduate of Estate management from Abia State University Uturu who has been battling cancer for years. His medical report states that he was diagnosed of Hodgkin's Lymphoma by the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.
Thereafter, the tumour achieved remarkable reduction. However, about a year after chemotherapy, the tumour started progressively increasing in size until it became a very huge neck mass and subsequently started affecting the left cervical lymph node, axillary and groin lymph node.
When no remarkable results were achieved, the doctors advised that radiotherapy could prove more effective. Unfortunately due to the high cost of the radiotherapy treatment (currently priced at almost 2million Naira), Paul is still currently waiting to gather enough funds to begin the treatment. He also has up to 5months unpaid Chemotherapy treatments, which also needs to be settled before any further progression with his treatments. As Paul has been fighting this terrible condition for years, means that finances have already been stretched so far and his family are unable to meet the extra cost for treatment and require help.
Therefore, I am pleading for urgent donations of up to £8000. Please this is urgent as he is waiting on the funds to begin his treatment. If about 400 people donate only £20 he will reach this target, however please feel free to give whatever you can because every little help will go a long way.
Also please feel free to share this on to your contacts and let's all put him in our prayers.
If you are in Nigeria or would prefer to donate straight to his acc:

Politics / Ozurigbo Praised For Uncommon Representation by tufur24(m): 5:56am On Dec 20, 2015
Ozurigbo praised for uncommon representation
...As he constructs halls in the constutuency

It has been accolades from all corners for the humble and charitable Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly and member representing Nwangele State constituency, Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo for his uncommon stewardship as member representing the constituency.
This follows the construction of four modern CGC halls in various parts of Nwangele by the philantropic lawmaker as part of efforts by him to ensure that he delivers adequate representation and impacts on the lives of the people of the constituency.
The halls which are located in Abajah, Umudurueze Umuozu, Umunakara and Umuduruzuo Amaju, Amaigbo, are mostly completed except for the Amaju hall which is still under construction, while he also took up the tiling of the magnificent Obi Igbo hall in Amaigbo.
Due to these, leaders in the local government have aired their voices in support of the uncommon feats of the ebullient legislator.
The President General of Abajah town, Chief Cliff Orjiako who is also a nominee for the position of Transition Chairman for Nwangele local government, said that the Deputy Speaker has done extremely well since his first term, stressing that it was the first time an honourable member representing the constituency was building such an edifice in different parts of the constituency.
Continuing, he deposited that Rt. Hon. Ozurigbo was reelected based on the fact that he played politics without rancor as he has not been selective in dispensing his generosity but has ensured that his presence is felt by all communities in the constituency.
Also speaking to newsmen was the Nwangele APC Chairman, Hon. Jude Uzoukwu, who regarded the structures as one of the hallmarks of Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo's representation of Nwangele State constituency.
Hon. Uzoukwu further posited that Ozb, as the Deputy Speaker is popularly called, has constructed markets, provided boreholes and constructed halls, actions he described as an eloquent testimony of his desire to affect all and sundry positively regardless of political leaning.
In his own remark, Hon. Chizobam O. Chizobam in a phone chat expressed satisfaction in the actions of the lawmaker likening him to a religion everyone wants to identify with, as the youthful lawmaker has attracted human developmental projects and created job opportunities for the people of the constituency which has more than endeared him to the people.
Furthermore, Hon. Chizobam explained that the action of the Deputy Speaker has surely alleviated the sufferings of the people of the affected communities who would have been forced to make monetary contributions or otherwise towards the construction of the halls.
"He deserves a pat on the back, but then he shouldn't rest on his oars because as one who has age on his side he should do more as to whom much is given, much is expected."

WE SPEND TOO MUCH TO ATTACK OKOROCHA’S GOVERNMENT: WHAT A DOOMDAY!!! By Onuchukwu Hamilton (07065183676) The above confessional statement echoed from my friend recently when some interesting partners passionately ask him why their Newspaper has been trying to lampoon Okorocha’s Government in the front pages of their Newspaper called “Community Watch Dog”. Since November 3rd, watch dog conspicuously publish that Uche Nwosu’s cook disappears with billions from Imo Bailout Funds. On the 10th of November, their banner headlines stated that Imo Lawyers Fight to Finish over Uche Nwosu and the rider reads “Fall over one another to handle court case” “Announcer, whitepaper get “yo” man” job. The publisher’s portrait in the front page of the same edition reads “watchdog publisher Comrade Nwadike escapes assassination. One Okere Kingdom also wrote in the same paper with his attached portrait that “Nwosu lied” Imo Bailout fund was stolen from his bedrooms”. The publisher equally placed Chief Ikedi Ohakim’s picture and wrote thus: Ikedi Ohakim squandered N2.2billion on road demarcation says Okorocha. To be very honest, the history of community watchdog newspaper is incomplete without Hamilton. The publisher is not just a brother but a true friend. I should rank among the first set of journalists in Imo he consulted before it’s establishment and I can attest to his socio- political interest but by the logic of concept, logic of judgment and the logic of inference. My very good friend was trying to make Ex-Governor Ohakim a living saint who only squandered N2.2billion on road demarcation as he allegedly stated that Governor Okorocha said. I have told friends to tell Okere to go and apologize to Chief Uche Nwosu because he has no right to publish that Uche Nwosu lied and carelessly wrote that Imo Bailout Fund was stolen from Uche’s bedroom – when the originator of the allegation, is yet to substantiate it. This is not journalism. If you heard of theft in the private confines of the Chief of Staff, part of your questions should have been; what was actually stolen? Can a state fund of such magnitude that is wriggles round the Imo Accountant General’s Office be kept inside a personal bedroom? This shows that you know nothing about the accounting and financial policies of the state-government. Your publications are wrongly worded as you failed to use the ethical terms in journalism to credit your argument. I do not need to teach you the terms here for corrections until you prove that you actually saw the walls of a journalism institution. If I teach you the terms you should have applied, will I teach you, libel and sedition because the publication is so incisive – traumatic as, if the fund made available for civil servants is hijacked, many will suffer high blood pressure and probably kick the bucket. It is a seditious offence against the state and the federal government because your publication implies that the police, the SSS, and other security agencies of the federal government in Imo State Government House and those deployed at the residential home of the Chief of Staff are incapable. A journalist or a newspaper outfit established by law, should be accurate and truthful in all his publications and should be fair as to earn the public confidence; trust and reliance. When you make, publish or reproduce any false statement, rumour or report which is likely to cause fear, alarm or despondency among the public or any section of the public; or is likely to disturb the pubic peace, you shall be guilty of an offence. The goal of human hood is the attainment of certitude. Truth is absolute and universal. It is something inseparable from experience and experience shows that public funds are rather kept in the bank not personal bedroom. The test of truth is utility, workability or satisfactory consequences. Journalism is neither mass communication or public relations and all about lexis and structure. Because it encapsulates a lot, publishers and reporters are advice to enroll into an accredited institute of journalism after their first degree in mass communication. Besides masscom graduates can work well as PROs and Newscasters until he or she had undergone through the major trainings and the spiritual baptism that converts a female reporter into a man for her to now answer the gentleman of the press. This is the time you will proverbially start seeing everybody as a suspect. You can hardly dance and merry in a function. Members of the society of easy virtue will hate you. This explains why journalist hardly or peacefully stay with a woman. I like Precious Nwadike, he has some of these qualities in him – but he has to subject his reporters to certificate verification exercise as to ascertain if they are the true conscience of the society or the junk and yellow types. They are crying that they have expended to much to pull Governor Okorocha down and yet, Imo people are still romancing with the Governor. This is just because journalists like us remain adamant over the Bailout Scandal as when the rumour filtered like a tip-off, I thought of where it might lead me into, the kind or story to develop from it, the kind of research to be adopted, the impact of the story on Imo people but my friend quickly went and published the story – which Imo people now see as a mischievous speculation. At this juncture, I have no intention of sounding a call for a severe punishment on Nwadike being a friend who has a worrisome perspective about this profession. Yet I do not intend to condone, much less to urge an attitude of passive resignation, or a relegation of the profession to the realm of things we should choose not to think about. This kind of media attack on Governor Okorocha by an infinitesimal paid group may actually be seen as the beauty of democracy but avoidable evils remains, as it is always will, an enemy that can be defeated.
Politics / Ozurigbo Proposes Primary Health Care Agency by tufur24(m): 9:44pm On Nov 11, 2015
Ozurigbo proposes Primary Health care agency.

Following discrepancies in the access of quality primary health care in Imo State, a bill was presented on the floor of the Imo State House of Assembly for the creation of a law to checkmate the issues concerned with primary health care in the state.
The bill, titled "A Bill for a Law to establish the Imo State Primary Health Care Development Agency and for other matters connected thereto.", had the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo, as Chief Sponsor with 23 other honourable members as Co-sponsors.
The ever vibrant Deputy Speaker noted that the bill became neccessary in order to combat issues at the primary health care level, especially issues concerning immunization and ante-natal care since it seemed that leaving it solely at the arms of the Ministry of Health alone was depriving the primary health care sub-sector adequate attention.
Speaking further, Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo insisted that the agency when created will focus on training and retraining of health workers across board and formulation of policies.
The Deputy Speaker submitted his presentation by urging the honourable house to speedily pass the bill for if time is wasted the State may risk losing out of the largess from the World Health Organization as the international body has threatened that any state who refuses to set up such an agency by the 2nd quarter of 2016 will not receive any funding from it.
The Honourable member representing Ideato South at the Assembly, Hon. Ikechukwu Amuka, supported the bill stating, that it was necessary the bill was speedily made law in order to ensure that the state secures the foreign funding and materials from the WHO.
Other members of the Assembly pledged total support for the bill adding that it will help improve the primary health sub-sector while urging the House Committee on Health to take keen interest in the happenings in the agency when the bill is passed.

Journalist Cries out over threat to life
An Owerri based journalist, Mr. Kelechi Uzomah, has accused a member of the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Joy Mbawuike of threatening his life. In a statement made available to newsmen in Owerri Tuesday, Uzomah a staff of the National Question newspaper said he has cried out following the insecurity in the country and Imo State in particular. According to him, he is currently living in fear of being hurt by Hon. Mbawuike who represents Isiala Mbano State Constituency at the State legislature. He disclosed that the threat became real to him when the embattled lawmaker whose election has just been nullified called him on telephone fuming that she will deal with him for daring to write a report against her person, one which she considered offensive. He said thereafter he has received numerous calls from unknown persons who also threatened to kidnap and kill him. According to him one of the lawmaker's ally, a lecturer (name withheld), who teaches at the Imo State University invited him on October 17,2015 to a restaurant in the institution where he threathened to kidnap and chop off his hands if ever he writes any of such report again. Mr. Uzomah denied approaching Hon. Mbawuike for appointment as her media aide as reported by an Owerri based newspaper, describing as puerile the lawmaker citing her refusal to appoint him as the reason for the alleged offensive report.

No crisis in PDP - Chyna Iwuanyanwu

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party from Nwangele LGA and one of the leaders who attended the meeting of the PDP True Democratic Coalition in Owerri, Chief Chyna Iwuanyanwu has declared that there is no faction whatsoever in the PDP in Imo State nd that the former Governor, Chief Achike Udenwa, Nze Umunna and Dr. Alex Obi are not rebels but party patriots.

Chief Chyna noted that the State Caucus must accept full responsibility for creating a lacuna.
He lamented that since after the 2015 General Election, Imo PDP leadership has failed to hold a single meeting not even with aggrieved aspirants and candidates at the election.

He noted that the Imo PDP Coalition was merely an advocacy group within the party designed to mobilize members towards rekindling the patriotic vision of the democratic foundation of the founding fathers of the party.
Chief Chyna Iwuanyanwu added that the Coalition is a platform to achieve the recommendations of the Ekweremadu's Committee in reconnecting the PDP back to the people and thereby promoting the ideals of internal democracy.
He noted that time has come to heal the wounds and learn from the mistakes of the past.
He called on the ladership odf the party to sink their differences and join hands to save Imo State from disaster.

Total falsehood. There must be truth in the beating story. The Governor's wife was seen at the opening of House of Freeda, a shopping mall owned by the Governor's first daughter. She was there all day while the Governor was in Turkey. This happened in September, so how come the CPS is saying she has been out of the country for 3months now? Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo: What our youths Should emulate

A popular scientist, Albert Einstein once stated, "Try not to become a man of success but rather try to be a man of value."
Recently, the ever electrifying podium of the social media has become a periphery of political reasoning as it affects the welfare of all and sundry.
Many arguments have been trashed on this platform with cynical and sycophantial views aired but most of all views are highlighted with out gunshots or other forms of violence.
Social media has recently been stuffed with fuming youths who have berated our President, Muhammadu Buhari, for excluding the youths who make up a large chunk of the population, from his cabinet while many others believe that the youths are in themselves not ripe enough to handle sensitive government portfolios.
With the recent electoral victory of Justin Trudeau as the Prime Minister of Canada. The issue of the youths in government slyly protruded its head again even as the Noble Laureate, Wole Soyinka, in a recent write up wondered what has become of the Nigerian youth.
I believe that our youths may not have done as badly as we may think, atleast the were the focal point of the purging of the widely corrupt PDP government, many thanks to the Omojuwas, Ogundamisis, Ikejis, Donjazzys, and even MrAyedee who did a lot of investigating to enlighten most of us.
I believe the youths need an individual of their like who they can look upto and emulate.
A person who's story they can liken to theirs.
There is this one youth I know in my locality of Imo State who has silently begun to build for himself without cynicism a following for himself, one that is stringed to value addition, such that anywhere his three piece alias is mentioned it craves a lot of respect.
He is barely 40 years of age yet he has surpassed the ambitions of many by establishing legit business lines that have gone ahead to become yardsticks for other business.
This young man did not leave the business of politics for the old and witless but joined the foray and in his first attempt in vying for an elective position he succeeded in coming out tops.
He has become a model of sort as his political style changed the politics in his constituency which led him to emerge victorious again at the just concluded 2015 general elections.
The Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo is that man.
Born in 1977 to the humble Ozurigbo family of Umuozu in Nwangele LGA, Imo State.
This young man took up the rings and reins of leadership to fight for students right in the Abia State University were he was part of the Students Union body before graduating in 1998.
The man Ozurigbo should be studied and emulated by the youths.
He is the brain behind the popular OZB Communications, a telecommunications retail outfit that cuts across every nook and corner of Imo State and its environs.
He joined mainstream politics in 2003 and in 20011 contested to represent Nwangele state constituency at the Imo State House of Assembly wherein he won after a keen contest and was nominated to be Chief Whip in the 7th Assembly under the speakership of Rt. Hon. Ben Uwajimogu, a duty he devotedly performed.
For representing his people well he was gifted the APC ticket to contest for the same position in 2015 general election where he won with a landslide victory and went ahead to be elected Deputy Speaker of the 8th Assembly without any opposition.
This young legislator should be a point of contact to all youths hoping that in the years to come they will take their place in the mantle of leadership.
The generous and benevolent Deputy Speaker who is known for his 'givership' is not the only successful youth from Imo State but his charitable heart has distinguished him.
According to him "I might not be able to transform the life of all the
people, but I must transform the life of so many people.".
This is definitely a sign of one who believes in impacting the lives of those around him.
Ozurigbo Ugonna is the man all youths should emulate as he is a wonderful Christian, loving husband and caring father.
Like Justin Trudeau, like Ugonna Ozurigbo.
We will get there.

Imo State Deputy Speaker hands over house to constituent.

Just recently a human right activist noted that the level of philanthropy has drastically reduced as the rich are no longer keen on helping the poor.
But the Deputy Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo has debunked this following his construction of a three bedroom apartment for a young disabled man in his Nwangele State Constituency.
At a low key event to mark the handing over of the house to the physically challenged man, Mr. Kingsley Isuemenyi of Umuduruneke, Umuorlu-Isu in Nwangele LGA, the Deputy Speaker acknowledge the need to give while thanking all present for supporting him at the 2015 elections.
The Deputy Speaker stated that he had no intention of building anything but suddenly had a change of heart after he visited the site of the collapsed building.
He narrated how he had proposed to donate 30 bags of cement to help towards the building of the house as there were other generous people who had accepted to help Mr. Kingsley, but as faith would have it in the company of the APC ward Chairman, Mr. Philip Egbuchu, he visited the site of the collapsed building and something spurred him to spontaneously instruct Mr. Philip to send him the cost of building a two bedroom apartment which was the initial plan.
Continuing, he said that as God will have it Mr. Kingsley who he described as a unique physically challenged person is the owner of a brand new three bedroom bungalow.
The indefatigable lawmaker apprised all present to thank Dee Philip, as he referred to the ward chairman, for overseeing the construction of the house project, adding that Mr. Philip did not collect a dime as contractual fees to carry out the project.
Speaking further, the business tycoon noted that this was not his first benevolent action neither would it be the last but encouraged those that saw everything he did as having a political connotation to repent from such silly thoughts as he is a generous individual, a statement that got the audience clapping.
The youthful legislator informed the people of Umuduruneke ward that he wasn’t done with them, indicating that he was going to do much more for them in the nearest future as they did well to support him during the last election even at the expense of their own lives.
In a brief sermon, the Parish priest of St. Marys’ Catholic Church, Umuorlu, Rev. Fr. Paschal Ariso, marveled at the action o the Deputy Speaker and he decoded that the legislator’s action was the action of a true Christian proclaiming that only a man who listens to God’s voice could have been capable of building a house for his fellow man.
The Priest further maintained that Rt. Hon. Ugonna’s action was synonymous to cultivating in the house of God, adding that such actions never ceased to be rewarded.
Also present at the event were, APC chieftains from the ward, the Nwangele APC Chairman, Chief Jude Uzoukwu, and a host of friends and well wishers of Kingsley Isuemenyi.
Those who spoke to the press at the event asked God to bless OZB, as the legislator is fondly called, inferring that he has been a source of succor to many families in the constituency.
One villager who gave her name as Maria declared that the Deputy Speaker’s actions can only be described as ineffable as well as enigmatic as such level of benevolence was rare in the present day Nigeria.
