Christianity Etc › Re: Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Reveals Rapture Date - 3, 6 Or 10 Years Time by Tunar18(m): 9:27pm On Sep 14, 2020 |
Stop writing story young man! Are pastors scientists? Did scientist ever claim anybody call them? Are pastors expected to be guessing? What happen to the spirit that has been talking to Pastors? You are even saying Bible didn't mention year or month but days and hour. Are you trying to say the words are ambiguous just to drive your point? If you can't interpret shit, the statement just means nobody knows the time. Not just day and hour #ChiefInterpreterOpenbusiness: Not sure if am 100% correct in interpretation, but he said something like 2030 being a reference of some sort, according to his calculation and then the rapture could either happen like 3 years before then, or 6 years there about after, or 10 years or something. So it was like a theoretical analysis. Do I know if he is right or wrong. NO! I don't have any research or deep knowledge on it. But I won't just insult and ridicule him for putting out such a theory. Most of the scientific laws we have in the world today were once theories put forward by people and during their time many of them were dismissed by their societies as either being crazy or stupid or heretic or possessed or something negative. But the wise societies didn't write them off outrightly, they sponsored expeditions and research to thoroughly analyse whatever those claims were, and sometimes in the process of trying to check if such theories were true, it was either they discovered Yes, it's true, or NO, it isn't true and then because they were doing their own research they sometimes will come up with a modified theory or a new theory that actually works. These are the things that fuelled human advancement. There was a time the theory that man could fly was considered stupid and crazy and impossible etc, but look at where we are today, because some people actually took the time to verify or disprove those theories. So for me, I think theories are good. At least, it presents a challenge for rational activities and helps to expand knowledge as people try to either workout such theories as correct or prove them wrong. Whichever the outcome is, it is good for Humanity. Thomas Edison speaking relative to theories that birth research and inventions said something like, He didn't fail, he just discovered 1000 ways it wouldn't work. So sometimes, to succeed we must fall first. Is Pastor Chris right about his theory? I DON'T KNOW. I really don't have an idea. But I love the fact that he tried to do something significant. I mean, the rapture is averu significant event and if we are even able to compute and understand or figure out a correct period for its possible occurrence, I think that's a very giant leap for Christianity and the world at large. Now that he has put forward this theory, I believe and expect other people, maybe theologians or pastors or religious community to look at what he said, and make a review to try to understand it first of all, and then analyse it to verify whether it's accurate or not. In the process, more theories might come forward, and before you know it, someone might eventually come up with something accurate and factual, or prove whether this theory Pastor Chris gave is true or not true. So it will cause people to try to push their boundary of knowledge further and test their minds for better ideas, and this is a good thing for Humanity. This is how we made progress this far. All the scientific laws we have today, whether physics, chemistry, biology or science in general, they were all theories at the beginning. It was when people made the effort to prove or disprove them, that they became laws after their authenticity were confirmed. That's it. So me I don't know why some people now have to turn this thing to an insult contest. If we keep ridiculing people like that, then we will kill the drive for creativity in people, because they will be afraid to come out or speak about the ideas or theories they found about for fear of being stigmatized by society. So I won't support that. I support creativity, I support free thinking. Yes some crazy ideas may come from time to time, but it will die natural death when it is found to be false. But then again, the best ideas also come from creativity and free thinking. That's part of the beauty of life |

You are trying to be logical but unsuspectedly becoming sentimental In the first instance, you came up with the religious affliation, yet trying to be defensive when a simple fact was mentioned. Irrespective of the religion, there shouldn't be any sacred cow. We should not always complicate simple issues by tying it to religion or ethnicity out of supposed smartness. The fact that Malami was not mentioned shouldn't twist the argument that OBJ and WIKE invite should be withdrawn for their excesses. Let any other group call for Malami's head. In fact, you can even champion it on social media for a startAgbegbaorogboye: The questions I keep asking you are, 1. Why highlight his religion or tribe in an effort to ask for equal treatment. Was his religion highlighted as the cause of his removal? 2. Why pick only Wike and OBJ when you desire equal treatment before the law. Why not add Malami the chief law officer of the present admin which has repeatedly abused human rights? At least that will send a stronger than usual message to the present govt? Can you in honesty answer these questions or are you also a bigot like the man you're defending? |

I really commend you English teacher.
I didn't want to contribute to this discussion because some miscreants who lack simple comprehension would start hurling Insults. SIMPLE EXPLANATION OF THE MONEY LAUNDERING ACT No Individual cash payment or cash transaction should exceed 5 million otherwise done via financial Institution It's very simple, the person in question has only dealt with a financial Institution which is also bound to notify CBN/EFCC of any suspected fraudulent transaction. He didn't do any cash payment or cash transaction exceeding the said amount with any other Individual. How has he violated the Law? I'm not sure any part of the act mentioned no INDIVIDUAL SHOULD HOLD CASH EXCEEDING 5MILLION techmo: Now I get your problem clearly
It's simply English
Cash Payment , cash transaction VS Cash Withdrawal
Cash Payment ; A cash payment is bills or coins paid by the recipient of goods or services to the provider. It can also involve a payment within a business to employees in compensation for their hours worked, or to repay them for minor expenditures that are too small to be routed through the accounts payable system
What this means is Tinubu can't buy products and services or make payment exceeding 5 million without notifying financial authorities
When ? where ? And how ? did Tinubu make a " cash payment" exceeding 5 million.. payment to who ? for what ? any evidence to back such claims

My summary from most of our Social Media politicians submission.
1. Most of our SM politicians don't know the president can't just wake up and make some decision (particularly those that affect fellow polithiefcians) without the ractification and approval of the Legislature. They want to reduce the money of those that will approve it, go and do it. It's that simple
2. Others are listing what should be done (which every other person can just list) but leaving the main problem the question is asking. That is HOW Anybody can say I will focus and revive the power but HOW
As for me, diversification of the economy is the first target. Particularly,
AGRICULTURE! AGRICULTURE!! AGRICULTURE!!! We have to cut our food importation by all means. Force graduates (that's where we have the population) back to the farm by converting irrelevant, compulsory NYSC to a full year agric training.
After NYSC, allocate lands and start up grant to them with proper monitoring (so that people wont collect grant and use it to buy laptop and iPhone). With this food production would increase, exportation would be boosted, case of unemployment would be automatically addressed, and then Increase in the Nation's revenue.
It isn't that simple though, yet not Impossible |

Thank God you have stylishly acknowledged my point and at least learned something from me. I'm not saying Government is using the tax as expected of them, or praising any politician here nor justifying the abnormalities in the country. All I'm saying is tax payment is an essential part of any economy and there is nothing excessive in our country compared to other developed countries. There is no way you will be making money from a country and won't pay tax (this will only be a debate in a country that's still in 17th century). Irrespective of the consequential Implication, you can't dodge the reality. NB: The fact that the subscribers indirectly pay their own price shouldn't exempt the cable providers from tax (Or should they not pay tax so that consumers wont be affected?). Price regulations/Consumer protection is a topic for another day. Regards yesloaded: I'm sorry, I've been out of this country and do business in 3 different countries presently. I know implication of tax but it's unfortunate that you are yet to come to terms that Nigerians are paying heavy tax with nothing to show for it
Cars is cheap in Canada because import duty there is very low whereas used cars is very expensive in Nigeria because import duty is on high side. Same thing goes to lots of imported products, nobody is talking about toothpick here even almighty America do import so please don't tell me patronize naija things. Import duty was part of tax if you care to listen and directly or indirectly, you as final consumer of all imported products pay tax
Go to Dubai or ask anyone living in dubai to tell you how much they pay as tax, & compare Dubai with Nigeria.
Nigeria is taking loans that will be shared among few people while hard working poor Nigerians repay the loan

See, am tired of educating you

Someday you will realize I am actually the one telling you the fact. It's a pity you won't come back to acknowledge my points. When you leave the shores of Nigeria and get to developed countries, you will understand the full concept of tax, its implication on the economy of the nation, and why your perspective about tax isn't feasible. Till then, best of luck yesloaded: What you failed to understand is that it's not every business that you passed burden of rubbish tax on your customer
I doubt you are a business man anyway so I will leave you to your things

You will not die young. However, let me disappoint you. Only a few people on this thread understand your points or even the topic of discussion itself. You will find them everywhere. They just jump on thread without any concrete understanding of the subject matter. The moment they noticed the word LOAN, many of them turned to keyboard warriors, yet arguing with zero understanding of the Issue.Even the lawmakers aren't fighting to stop the borrowing but for reasonable spread of projects. Yet, dem nairaland politicians are already crying about the loan. Leaving the bone of contention. It's a pity! I will quote Bubu again 'A lot of Nigerians are lazy intellectually' BreconHills: On what basis do you find it difficult? 1. The population data of 40% of the population being U14? 2. Population growth rate of 3.5% p.a? 3. The infrastructure gap of $31bn that is holding back Nigeria's young people? 4. The fact that concessional borrowing is the only way we are going to finance this based on the reality of low oil prices? 5. The fact that foreign bond holders have much better statistics and data than most of us have basically voted that Nigerias loans are a good idea and that there is sufficient headroom for repayments? 6. Or is it the fact that Nigeria unlike many western countries has never defaulted on debt obligations? 7. Or the fact that if we are to save our way out of this, we will basically be saying bye bye to anyone over 10 years old?
Which of these 7 things are you struggling with? Look I get it - you don't trust the government, maybe you don't even like them ' but heck bud, you don't have a lot of choice right now. You are in the same position as a passenger in a plane at 30,000 feet who decides he doesn't like the pilot and he wants to get off!
I said on this same platform some months ago when dome people were rejoicing when the senate was having a fit over these loans and I said both houses have NO choice but to approve them. That's the reality and we need to live by them. The only thing we can do is hold them to account. But loan or no? That question is irrelevant now. |

You compare Individuals by their ability and personal achievement and not what they achieve in a team (a team that could Involve people that might not work together no matter what method you use and another would do well without a single renowed Star) Kukuma say Paul Pogba/Thomas Muller are better than both of them because they have won world cup.
