The number of igbos hawking gala and fan yogo in the Lagos is more than the number of Yorubas in the South East.
Lol, Those guys in the pictures may not even be Yorubas ....Igbo girls are littered all over Southwest engaging in prostitution You guys are known for self denial, here in the east your ladies and gents hawking Agbo and harbal are very common here, one of your tribes man even committed suicide two weeks ago at Amaenyi in Awka, they can't compete with Igbos, very lazy most of them depends on the ladies hawking Agbo, hardly leave in decent buildings, you see them in uncompleted buildings, were they don't pay for house rent, some of the ladies engaged in prostitution with northern trailer drivers at Amansi boundary between Enugu and Anambra, Anambra state government once destroyed the place, they are regrouping now |

Obi1kenobi: Arthur Eze is not worth any $5.8billion. Neither is Emeka Offor anywhere close to that. None of those men even make Forbe's top 10 list and Otedola that is richer than both is no more a billionaire being valued by Forbes at just over $500m this year. Folorunso Alakija that is 3rd after Dangote and Adenuga is worth nowhere close to that. Tony Elumelu is the richest Igbo man in the country and is worth a little above $1billion. Yet, you think Arthur Eze and Emeka Offor are worth almost $6billion. I know the internet sites you got that from and they are not credible at all. I can't find the original Forbes article, but this article cited the original Forbes ranking for 2017: https://nigerianfinder.com/top-20-richest-men-in-nigeria/ Face it, sunshine. Oba Otudeko is richer than any Anambra man, and Adenuga is in an entirely different league. I don't know why you are all hyperventilating because I said Ogun indigenes are the most accomplished in the country in my opinion. All because it wounds your chestbeating ego. Yoruba clown you are very ignorant https://networthcars.com/prince-arthur-eze-net-worth-private-jet/Arthur Eze Atlas Petroleum International and Oranto Petroleum represent Nigeria's largest privately-held, Africa-focused exploration and production group. Check out OPEC and Net worth Visa site, Arthur net worth is $5.8 billion, same with Emeka Offor, your Oba Otudeko can only be compare to billionaire like Chikason, Young shall grow, Dozzy Oil, Nicolas Ukachukwu, Chisco group etc, he is not the same level with those I listed earlier, only Arthur Eze nocked Adenuga down

Obi1kenobi: Oba Otudeko was born in Oyo, but is an indigene of Odogbolu in Ogun state. And he is wealthier than any Anambra billionaire talk more of Adenuga that is in a different class. You can claim as many billionaires as you want. It's empty chest-beating. Obi1kenobi: I would agree I might have exaggerated the political disunity among Igbos. Their political problems stem from the inability to form solid alliances with other groups. I'd still stand by my cultural observations though about a tendency Igbos have to antagonize each other based on petty clannishness: especially the tendency of Anambrarians to antagonize everyone. You're id.iot for hating Anamberians. |
Politics › Re: Igbo Community In Delta Endorses Okowa For Second Term by TundeBricklayer(op): 10:37pm On Oct 02, 2018 |
[s] Obi1kenobi: Of course, someone must always come up with the emboldened nonsense about where I'm from if they don't like what I say. I started hearing it since i opposed Nnamdi Kanu's rhetoric which made me an "afonja". It's immature and only shows one up as incapable of handling opposing views. Your trolling name adopting a Yoruba handle doesn't mean everyone is like you. I've spent several years on Nairaland and I've never had time for the juvenile inter-tribal nonsense many choose to fill their existence with.
You can cherry pick news clips all you want. Every soul here except someone living in a lot of denial know Yorubas are a pretty liberal group who forge relationships that trump religious lines. It is extremely common to see Yoruba families with both Muslims and Christians due to their tolerant culture. Extremely common. This doesn't happen among any other tribe, and certainly not among Igbos. If I brought a Muslim girl home to my parents, my mum would slump with a heart attack - as would most Igbos. I know it. You know it. Why the self-deception? Neither do I understand what political differences between PDP and APC have to do with the socio-cultural divisions I'm talking about.
And yes, Ogun indigenes are the most accomplished group in Nigeria. It's the state of Awolowo, and Soyinka, and the Ransom-Kutis and Fela, and Abiola, and Obasanjo, and Mike Adenuga, and many, many more. It's my opinion. Why are you hyperventilating over it? Because you're the typical Anambra braggart I spoke about before? Why are you saying I should name another state outside Lagos with non-indigenes as governors? The point is if there was a cosmopolitan city like Lagos in the East, it would not be ruled by a non-indigene. It's certainly less likely to happen here than it would in the SW in a political climate where Igbo states are sacking non-indigenes from fellow Igbo states. [/s] Trash, you said Anambra brag, but you are the one that throw out Anambra and Ogun and you expect me to swallow your fabrication hook line and sinker, when I challenge you, you will turn it Anambra braggart, but it doesn't stop me enlightening you, no state in Nigeria more accomplished than Anambra, Anambra gave Nigeria first President, Zik, Anambra gave Nigeria first elected executive Vice president Sir Alex Ekwueme, first senate president Nwafor Orizu, First Nigeria richest man Louis Ojukwu and founder of Nigeria stock exchange and first President, Anambra gave Nigeria Achebe, Chimamanda, Ikemba Ojukwu, Anambra gave Nigeria first indigenous vice chancellor Prof Kenneth Dike, first VC UI, Anambra gave Nigeria IVM first indigenous vehicle manufacturing plant, Anambra house more billionaires more than any other states in Nigeria, It's facts not fabrication or bragging, hate them, attack them, it doesn't change the fact. They are leading in trade and commere, transportation, very industrious, also one of the leading state in education, they top in states that produce more doctors, lawyers, pharmacists etc, NLNG price for literature they are the highest recipent, Anambra are by far more accomplished than Ogun, not bragging |

pazienza: Let's not even talk about the fact that the entire Yoruba race were enmeshed in local skirmishes called "Kiriji war" AI deadly that they nearly wiped each other out, and were grateful to welcome the British colonialization, just to end the civil war.
Let's not forget that in post independent Nigeria, the Yorubas again couldn't handle themselves, as they quickly fractionalized their region into Awo and Akintola factions, and their region became a theatre for bloody clashes between rival political groups. Whereas Zik quickly reconciled differences with Eyo Ita and maintained cordial relationship with Okpara all through. It's true that the greatest ill to befall a society is not the death of a hero, but the birth of an efulefu. We have too many efulefus in Igboland today, and it does tell. Thanks bro |

[s] Obi1kenobi: You're comparing entirely different things. State and clan parochialism exists among groups. It is worst among Igbos. As I said Bianca Ojukwu, a woman who married an Anambra man and had Anambra children had her Anambrarian identity questioned because some clowns were supporting Ifeanyi Ubah. You must also have missed the part where I said Igbos are peaceful, so what's the point telling me they don't kill themselves. That has nothing to do with Igbo unity, but a general value Igbos attach to life, unlike our Northern brethren or the oft-violent political unrests in the SW and SS. Yorubas culturally and politically are a more united bloc than Igbos. I'd consider this in realm of empirical fact when observing Nigerian socio-politics. Their institutions like their royal fathers and socio-cultural groups like Afenifere wield more influence among them and their Yoruba identity trumps their religion.
And let's stop kidding ourselves. I didn't make my observations because one or two Igbo people on here embarrass themselves. Nairaland is a big community with over a million members and in many ways is a microcosm of wider society. And Igbos here exhibit the greatest internal strife by far. More than all other groups combined. It does play out in wider Igbo interactions and it's also exhibited when Igbos are trading barbs with SS Igboid groups. Why is it that no Hausa or Yoruba groups have this identity crisis? Why always Igbos. To say it's because of "jealousy" like someone asserted earlier is exactly the problem. Ogun people are an incredibly accomplished people. I'd say they're the only state whose indigenes are more accomplished than Anambrarians. I have never in my life seen a thread where Ogun people are insulting Ekiti or Kwara or Kogi people about how superior they are. Anambrarians do it all the time to their fellow Igbos. They are well-known braggarts. And until we cure that illness of arrogance, it's going to keep reflecting poorly on us and other Igbo groups in the SS would always be wary of us. [/s] Another rubbish, I know you are from west, disguising as Igbo to play us down, Yorubas lost Ilorin to Fulani because of hatred among themselves go and read the history, they insult themselves here, their people with contrary opinions or political affiliations to them they lebel them IPOB, Fayose, Adeleke, Fami and others, Yoruba hate themselves more than Igbos, you're fully aware of what happened in Osun during Muslim and Christian students or UI between Muslim and Christina students, I know how you guys operate, you are a pathological liar by saying Afenifere weild more influence than Ohaneze, only some Yoruba Christians respect Afenifere group, Igbos are not united and they gave GEJ block votes in 2015 Igbos are Republican doesn't mean we can't be united to achieve a goal, IPOB sit at home is another case. You most be out of your mind saying Ogun people are more accomplished than Anambra. Tell me another state outside Lagos in west another Yoruba man from another state is governor,or senator since we enter democracy

Lagos APC Primaries: Confusion as State Chairman disagrees with NWC, says votes validThe chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Tunde Balogun, says the party’s governorship primary held earlier on Tuesday (today) remains valid and that the result will soon be announced. This is contrary to the statement by the party’s National Working Committee panel, led by Mr. Clement Ebri, declaring the primary null and void. Ebri at a press conference at Protea Hotel, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, said the primary could not have held because the guidelines for the conduct of the election were still being ironed out. But Balogun insisted that the primary had held and that the results would soon be announced. Balogun said, “Of course, the primary election took place in all the 245 wards in Lagos State and it was peaceful; not a single case of violence was recorded. It was peaceful, it was fair, it was just and transparent. “The election stands, because it was conducted according to the constitution of our party.” http://dailypost.ng/2018/10/02/lagos-apc-primaries-confusion-state-chairman-disagrees-nwc-says-votes-valid/Lalasticlala |

Obi1kenobi: [s]One issue also that contributes to this division is a unique sickness I find among Igbos for petty internal squabbling. Not just between "core Igbos" from the SE and Igboid SS groups, but within the self-acknowledged core Igbos. I find it disturbing everytime I read a Nairaland thread on any SE state devolve into petty chestbeating squabbles with the usual characters involved: with Anambra groups being the most guilty of provocations of others. This is an entirely unique Igbo thing. Yorubas on Nairaland for example might have APC vs PDP arguments, but rarely would you see Ogun people for example attacking Ekiti people, or Oyo and Osun people squabbling about who is the dirtier, poorer state. That's a uniquely Igbo mental illness. I was utterly disgusted the other day where in a thread about Bianca's Senate run, at least 4 Anambrarians I counted said she should go and run for Senate in "her Enugu state", delegitimizing her as an Anambra daughter. And the clowns got plenty of "likes" and "shares" for the stewpidity. You would rarely hear Yorubas utter rubbish like that. Yorubas have internal conflicts but I find an admirable liberalism among them and a Yoruba consciousness that means you are Yoruba FIRST before anything else: Muslim, Christian, Ondo, Kwara or whatever. You are Yoruba first. That is why seemingly every Yoruba politician is a Muslim married to a Christian while in some Igbo communities even fellow Christians, especially Catholics and Anglicans are sworn enemies: like in my hometown Oraukwu which has a big Catholic/Anglican divide, with the church in our hometown threatening sanctions against my parents when my sister, a Catholic, sought to marry an Anglican from Obosi. It didn't matter that they were both Igbos. Both Anambrarians. Both from the same Idemili North LGA. Both educated people who knew each other since before they went to UNN together. The essence of their union was distilled by bigots into a petty squabble over their different denominations. This is how Imo and Abia sacked each others non-indigenous civil servants. Enugu did the same to Anambrarians long ago. There is internal distrust among Igbos you simply don't see among other tribes. I remember when I was in UNN and plenty of Anambra people I knew (with their usual annoying arrogance) loved to ridicule Enugu people, with their favorite targets being umu Nsukka.
Some of these Igboid groups observe these internal dynamics and they sense something toxic. They feel like since they aren't "core SE Igbos", they're viewed as 2nd class Igbos. And I have heard plenty of disparaging language from SE Igbos about SS Igbo/Igboid groups which the latter also return. So the mutual resentment is there and it is caused by both sides. Igbos in some ways are peaceful. We're not a violent tribe and go about our business peacefully. But we're also arrogant with a myopic clannishness and this manifests not just in our cultural dysfunction, but in our political failures as a group.
If you claim some SS Igboid groups reject the Igbo identity due to "jealousy" and all that. You have only gone ahead to confirm why they want nothing to do with people who look down on them.[/s] Rubbish Stop fooling yourself, during 2015 election Ambode state of origin took center stage, same Lagos indigenes are still questioning Tinubu state not minding Lagos is a cosmopolitan state, Yorubas hate themselves more than Igbos, Igbos can yab themselves but never fight or kill themselves, they are united more than any tribe in Nigeria, go to various markets in Nigeria and beyond, every Sunday they unite and hold various town meetings across all states, coming together during new yam and end of the year meetings. We know how Christians, traditional worshippers fight themselves in west, even how Obas fight themselves, how Yorubas fight Eguns, may be I should remind you how Ondo parents doesn't what their children to marry Ijebu people. Can you show me and link where Catholics and Anglicans are killing themselves in the east or where Anambra people killing Ebonyians, don't take because of two more inconsequential idiots displaying online to condem others, Igbo unity that's what made them recover so quick after the war No tribe is perfect
