Thank you. This was the exact same thing he told me. In that case, does it mean I wont have the TB certificate since my fund will just be part of the N50m?

If Treasury Bills is bought through the primary market (CBN Auction), CBN will issue a letter of allotment and the Bank will also do a letter to. But if it's purchased via secondary market through the Bank or the Bank pools several people's funds together to buy, there won't be an allotment letter in your favour, you will only have the Bank's letter. Either of the two is acceptable to/verified by IRCC.

JESUnifemi4eva:
You can't buy directly with less than N50m from the primary market; however, what banks do is sum up all bids less than N50m and purchase T-bills directly from CBN then issue you a t-bill certificate; tell your friend to make enquiries from his colleagues in Treasury.

This is very correct. You can also buy from the secondary market through your Bank.

Students in this program get a chance to acquire advanced knowledge in marketing, finance, and management, risk financing, insurance and employee retention.

You may also find Risk Management being offered as a minor or a concentration subject in a Master of Management or Master of Business Administration.

You’ll typically be required to opt for a specific number of compulsory and elective modules. This’ll not only help in fulfilling the credit hour requirement but will also provide you with an opportunity to tailor the program according to your academic and professional requirements.

Candidates may also have to complete a practicum as a part of some programs. This is intended to provide you with a combination of theoretical as well as practical knowledge.

Admissions Requirements

Whereas some students complete the program full time, others opt for a part time program. They may enroll in a self paced program and take longer to complete the degree. Alternatively they make take shorter by taking up an accelerated coursework degree.

Online Master’s Degrees in Risk Management

Some distance learning schools also offer master’s programs in risk management, allowing students to study remotely. Unlike traditional degree programs, the online degrees have flexible learning schedules. Students may study during the day, night or anytime that may suit them. Investment / Re: Fixed Deposit Vs Treasury Bills: Which Pays Better? by tundechange: 5:47am On May 28, 2017
CloudResident:
*Treasury bills VS Fixed deposit

1. TB Interest is payable same day you invest while FD is at maturity.

2. In TB you don't pay withholding tax on your interest while FD takes10% withholding tax.

3. TB Rate is largely dependent on amount in circulation, through bidding,i. e if govt wants to mop up Naira In the system,a higher rate and can go as high as18% while FD depends on your negotiation with your bank but within CBN rate guides which is presently 14%

4. In TB you CANNOT at any point before maturity request for your investment partly or total while FD can be terminated prematurely or partly even after a day! You only get charged 25% of the accrued interest till that particular date.

5. TB is guaranteed as long as the country existed cos it's backed by FG while FD may go down with a bank if it is distressed.

6. TB is strictly 91,182 or 364 days tenure while FD is more flexible, you state your own days.

Nice on bro but here is a little addendum :

1. Interest on FD can also be paid upfront just as Tbills. But d rate might be a bit lower than that of back-end (at maturity)

3. Rate on FD is subject to MPR but not limited to it. Banks do offer much more than 14 on bigger volume. D rate at which banks create risk assets (loans) also determine the rate they raise liabilities (deposits). I. E. If Bank A can create risk asset at 30%, it should be able to raise liabilities at 20% and make 10% margin.

4. You can also preterminate your TB investments, it is called rediscounting. U may suffer loss on it depending on the rediscounting rate. Also, charges on premature termination of FD vary from Bank to Bank. Some Banks charge as low as 10%.

can one start a treasury bill for let say 500K

In the primary market, NO. But in the secondary market, yes, subject to availability.

Tbills. Tax free. Unlike fixed deposits

Yes, its tax free, however, the upfront interest is subject to a custodian fee of 0.10% of the face value, 5% VAT on custodian fee and the commission charged by the primary dealer/agent you are buying it through (this varies from Bank to Bank). Whichever way, Tbills is much more better presently.
