PoliticsI Don’t Need Third Term - Buhari Mocks Obasanjo by Tundemuttee(op): 7:09pm On Feb 05, 2019
Pres. Buhari on Tuesday, mocks former president, Obasanjo, saying he only wants a second term and no more.

He stated this while addressing traditional rulers in Akure.

The president said in the past, people have sought for more terms in office, contrary to the provisions of the Constitution.

“We have just finished one term and are seeking a second one, and after that, the Constitution doesn’t permit any more.

“There are some who tried looking for more but they did not succeed,” he was quoted as saying in a tweet by Tolu Ogunlesi, who handles Digital Communication for the Presidency.

Obasanjo tried to stay in office beyond his second term in 2007.

A bill was sponsored at the National Assembly to extend term limits by another four years, but the lawmakers did not ratify it.

Gov. Okorocha said this while addressing a press conference at the Government House, Owerri on Tuesday, where he described the ongoing politics as a “war in a different dimension.”

He said: “There is more to the noise you are hearing about the governorship election in Imo, it is not about Uche Nwosu, it is about a plot to stop Okorocha by all means, otherwise why will Adams Oshiomhole and Rotimi Amaechi be interested in who governs Imo.

The calculation is that if Uche Nwosu becomes governor and I go to Senate, I will be a strong force by 2023. The most annoying fact is that they are using our people to pursue that agenda.

PoliticsBuhari, APC Can't Rig This Election - PDP by Tundemuttee(op): 8:09pm On Feb 03, 2019
We wish to inform President Buhari
and his failed and discredited Party, the APC
that Nigeria is bigger than them and there is no way Nigerians will allow them to rig the 2019 general elections or achieve their self-succession plan.

Our history has amply shown that no individual, no matter the authority wielded, has ever succeeded, at any point in time, in subduing the spirit of our nation or place our people under a siege, not even the importation of mercenaries into our country can change that reality.

The world can recall how certain leaders in the past attempted to subvert our constitutional democracy, arrogate excessive powers to themselves and how they failed in the face of the Nigerian spirit.

Today, that Nigerian spirit, with which we won our democracy and nurtured it to this stage, is being assailed by the APC and the Buhari Presidency with their unrelenting constitutional breaches, attacks on our democratic institutions, violation of human rights, etc.

There is a ferocious attempt to take away our liberty as a people. There is total clampdown, arrest and detention of dissenting voices; invasion of media houses, manhandling and illegal detention of journalists by state forces have become the order of the day.

Our nation will never succumb to Buhari
Presidency’s assault on our nassnigeria
, the attack on our judiciary and besieging of the
inec where President Buhari’s relation is being foisted as the head of the collation center.

Only last week, the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), after consideration of all factors, reinforced the global unanimity and affirmation by various credible and independent bodies within and outside Nigeria, that
Atiku will win the February 16, Presidential election.

Today, the APC and the Buhari Presidency have become uncontrollably feverish over the overwhelming acceptance gained by Atiku in all the geo-political zones, particularly in the North West states, hitherto considered as President Buhari’s political stronghold.

The PDP wants President Buhari
to note that Nigeria will not fall. Our country, as a nation of over 200 million resilient men and women, is bigger than President Buhari as well as the
APC and would resist all anti-democratic forces.

Nigerians have chosen democracy with its tenets, as a way of life, including justice and constitutional freedom it offers the citizens to determine who their leaders should be at any given time, and nobody, not even President Buhari, can take away this freedom and rights

PoliticsAtiku Shed Tears After Afenifere, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Others Endorsement by Tundemuttee(op): 7:09pm On Feb 03, 2019
Reacting shortly after, Atiku said the endorsement is “a loud statement that there is hope for our country”.

“I am moved to tears that in the midst of deep divisions and deliberate use of instrumentalities of state to set our people against themselves in the last three and a half years, responsible and respected leaders across Nigeria have agreed to come together for the purpose of endorsing my candidature for the February 16th,2019 Presidential elections,” he said in a statement.

“Today we put aside all our prejudices to elect a President with religion and ethnicity playing no role in our elections.”

The former vice-president added that he is buoyed to lead a pan-Nigerian team if elected, and that he has been chosen to unite our people “and exactly that I will.”

“I will run a properly federated Nigeria through constitutional reforms to bring out the best from ALL sections of Nigeria to make Nigeria work again like in the past when the Saudi Royal family came to Nigeria to access Medicare,” he said.

“We will promote an inclusive Nigeria based on productivity that every section of Nigeria will bring out the best under their soil, and in their brain to make Nigeria assume its position in Africa and the global community.

“It would be 100% for every section of Nigeria as I would not understand any arithmetic outside that.”

Atiku is seen as President Muhammadu Buhari’s main challenger in the election.

PoliticsWhat Tinubu said about Ambode's impeachment after Crucial Meeting with APC leade by Tundemuttee(op):
A Special Governor's Advisory Committee (GAC) meeting was held on Sunday in marina, Lagos to resolve the conflict between Gov. Ambode and Lagos State House of Assembly. The below are the speeches made at the meeting attended, among others, by APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Lagos central Senatorial Leader, Prince Tajudeen Olusi, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, his deputy, Dr. (Mrs) Idiat Adebute, House of Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, his Deputy, Hon. Wasiu Esinlokun

Asiwaju Tinubu, APC National Leader

"We held a meeting on behalf of entire Lagosians. In the last one week or so, there has been some talk about a conflict between the Executive and the Legislature in Lagos. This is of great concern to us. We looked at the source of the conflict, which is normal in a democracy, and that is why there are also conflict-resolution mechanisms. We examined the grievances on both sides. As leaders, we also looked into areas where there has to be compromise. In order to build institutions and encourage consensus building, we have to do what is right.
There is no impeachment. Let there be more communication and consensus-building and understanding. All these are inbuilt in the democratic system.

"We thank the Speaker and the leadership of the House. We thank the Governor and the Deputy Governor. They have all demonstrated respect for the party leadership in Lagos. You know when Lagos sneezes, other areas catch cold. We are happy that we are able to resolve the conflict and things will start moving well going forward."

PoliticsWhat Will Happen If I Lose Election – Atiku by Tundemuttee(op): 7:17am On Jan 31, 2019
Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has insisted he will accept the result of the 2019 presidential election if he loses, provided the election is free and fair.

It was the last question thrown at Atiku by Kadaria Ahmed.

As the very final question before drawing the curtain on the interaction, Atiku was asked if he would accept the result of the election should he lose.

He replied: “If elections are adjudged to be free and fair and credible, why not? I have lost elections before.”
