The moment a suspected kidnapper was stripped naked, paraded, beaten and had a tyre thrown around his neck was captured and has been shared online.

Omojuwa shared the video and revealed that the mob "refused to let anyone intervene."

The man was allegedly caught trying to kidnap a child in Monatan, Ibadan, and the locals descended on him.

Omojuwa wrote:

I just witnessed this. The mob refused to let anyone intervene. This person was allegedly caught trying to kidnap a child. This is currently happening at Monatan Ibadan. Any society where the law constantly fails the people, the people will take the law into their hands. Jungle Justice is evil, it is not justice in any sense. Justice justice though is entrenched because the people have lost faith in the criminal justice system. “If you hand him over to the police, his Godfathers will get him out” was the constant refrain today. Savage reality. This is barbaric

On Wednesday, The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, borrowed the words of former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, at the peace accord.

During the 2015 general elections, Jonathan said that “his ambition does not worth the life of any Nigerian”.

A statement that doused worries of many Nigerians and made the election free, fair and credible.

However, speaking at the signing of the National Peace Accord at the International Conference Centre,ICC, in Abuja, Atiku cited Goodluck Jonathan’s 2015 speech and highlighting the importance of credible elections.

His words, “his political ambition is not worth the life of any Nigerian”

Gov. Amosun, has denied allegations the All Progressives Congress (APC) that he sponsored thugs to the presidential rally of the party in the state.

He faulted the claims in a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Rotimi Durojaiye, and obtained by Channels Television on Wednesday.

Amosun said it was ridiculous that a party would accuse a governor of sponsoring thugs to the rally organised and hosted by him in his state.

The reactions followed the APC presidential campaign which held on Monday in Abeokuta where the party’s National Chairman, Mr Adams Oshiomhole, was booed and stoned by some angry people at the gathering.

A day after the incident, APC National Publicity Secretary, Mr Lanre Issa-Onilu, issued a statement in which the party threatened to take punitive measures against Governor Amosun.

Responding to the threat, Amosun’s aided, “The position of the governor is that rather than dissipate their energy on those they will deal with after election, Comrade Oshiomole and his co-travellers should be remorseful that their anti-democratic conduct has denied the APC scores of legislative seats and a number of executive positions across the country even before the elections.

“They do not need to wait until after the election, they should throw in the towel now for undermining the chances of the party they have cornered for their selfish ends,” he added.

Commenting on the allegation that the governor sponsored thugs to the presidential rally, Durojaye said it was clearly ridiculous that someone would author such a statement.

He noted that as the governor of the state, Amosun was not only the host at the rally but he organised the grand reception for President Muhammadu Buhari.

“The relationship between President Buhari and Governor Amosun is well known,” Durojaye stated. “It is, therefore, unthinkable that someone will allege that Governor Amosun will organise thugs against the President.”

Amosun’s aide, however, claimed that issuing the statement was a confirmation of “the personification of the APC by Comrade Oshimhole who is using the party to ventilate his personal grouse against Governor Amosun.”

He also accused the national chairman of the party of meting out injustice to a majority of APC supporters in Ogun, stressing that such would not stand.

“Mr President was given an unprecedented rousing welcome into the Moshood Abiola Stadium on arrival and the atmosphere at the rally remained peaceful and carnival-like until former Governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola and Comrade Oshiomhole incensed the crowd with their unguarded speeches,” Durojaye alleged.

He said, “It is important to note that contrary to the erroneous impression being created that President Buhari campaign tour ended abruptly, President Buhari attended all campaign activities as scheduled after the rally at the stadium.”

The governor’s aide disclosed that the President met the Ogun State Council of Traditional Rulers at the June 12 Cultural Centre where he addressed 1,012 traditional rulers and chiefs.

He added that President Buhari had a private lunch at the Presidential Lodge before departing Ogun State as scheduled.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu on Wednesday said democracy cannot be achieved in Nigeria through the ballot.

The IPOB Leader disclosed this in a post on his Twitter page.

Nnamdi Kanu wrote: “As long as Nigeria remain yoked to the 1999 Constitution written by half-baked Fulani military dictators, the benefits of Democracy can never be attained through the ballot box.

“This is an inescapable fact which even the most intellectually impoverished Nigerian cannot deny. “

An unemployed engineer has been praised for his integrity after he found a missing wallet and returned it to the owner.

This man right here is my HERO. I can't believe we still have truthful people like this in Lagos. I lost my wallet on Saturday, since then I had been disturbed and praying to find it. In it I have 20pounds and some naira notes. This man came to my office and brought my wallet intact, nothing was missing, this man rejected what I gave him in return. Trouble started after Marwa, who addressed the rally in Hausa, was accused of saying some uncomplimentary things about Mohammed Bindow, governor of the state.

Marwa and the governor belong to different factions of the APC in the state. The ex-military administrator is of the Mahmood Halilu faction which lost the battle to secure the governorship ticket to Bindow’s group.

Despite the backing of Aisha Buhari, wife of the president, Haliliu who is Buhari’s in-law failed to secure the governorship ticket.

Buhari had pacified the angry youth and directed security operatives to whisk Marwa from Ribadu Square, Yola, venue of the exercise.

Marwa is an ally of the president. On Monday, he led former military generals to Aso Rock to endorse Buhari for another four years.

He currently heads the presidential advisory committee on the elimination of drug abuse in the country.

Marwa had said if Buhari had failed in his duties, they would not have endorsed him.

“As an officer and a gentleman, his word is his bond. After winning the elections, he brought out simple three-points programme – security, economy and fighting corruption. He led the fight and is leading the fight by personal example. That is the height of leadership. Do as as I do not as I say. He has demonstrated that,” he had said.

Asked if the endorsement was out of fear, Marwa said: “Absolutely not.”
