Saraki made a big mistake, mostly aligning with the SE, he forgot they have no electoral or political value in present Nigeria. Tambuwal is even ahead of him by far, this shows Saraki is just a local Kwara politician with no strategy but noise and show offs. Atiku, an intelligent man has been working underground, gathering support and connect, made Gbenga Daniel his campain DG, he knows the SW understands the game better, if you have the SW and the north, nothing can stop you, he learnt this from the GMB. Honestly, i had hoped Saraki would win so that he can be embarrassed in February(SE and little part of North cannot win you a presidential election) but now, this is a big fight for GMB, if Atiku can pick a running mate from the SS (SE will automatically support the person, some votes in SW too.).

Buhari all the way!
What is this?

Saraki's father had severally come out to claim Fulani. (Google it). Wike is Ikwerre not Igbo, don't know about Dino.
Ikwerre is a dialect of igbo just as Yorubas have ijebu,Egba,Okun etc.
Saraki is Yoruba just like Dino.
PoliticsRe: Sorting Of Votes Begins At PDP Convention (Live Updates) by tuniski: 11:13am On Oct 07, 2018
fratermathy:
Wike is not Igbo. I do hope you know that? He has never claimed to be so, he has never identified as such, and above all, he doesn't speak Igbo. He is Ikwerre and yes, Ikwerre is an Igboid language according to linguists. The Ikwerres have always maintained their distinct identity and culture. This is akin to Itsekiri, which is a Yoruboid language but maintain a separate cultural identity or like Urhobo, which is an Edoid language but have never identified as anything but Urhobo. To be clear, that a language is described as Igboid, Yoruboid, Edoid, Nupoid, Hausoid, etc, doesn't mean that the so-described language is mutually intelligible with the languages they use in describing them. Most likely, the languages within the descriptive cluster all share the same ancestry, grammar, vocabulary, or other linguistic features. They only use the biggest variant of the language group to describe all of them for ease of description. This, in no way, implies that those who speak Igboid, Nupoid, Hausoid, Yoruboid, etc, languages are members of the ethnic group which has been used to describe their language.

In fact, there are cases where people from different ethnic groups speak the same language. We know of Welsh and Irish people who speak English but do not identify as English people. In Nigeria, we have cases of minorities in the North who speak Hausa but never identify as Hausa people. Even individually, we have persons born into particular groups but who choose to identify with another group. Chief Okotie-Eboh was born an Urhobo but identified as Itsekiri (an adopted identity) all his life.

Ethnicity goes beyond language. Its a complex of identity, consciousness, culture, politics, religion, kinship, and many other things. Unless someone identifies as belonging to a group, its better not to make assumptions, even if the person speaks like or appears to be from an obvious group. This is especially true in the case of the so-called "minority" groups.
Long grammar Wike is igbo!

PoliticsRe: PDP Convention: South-east, North-east Delegates Split Over Saraki, Atiku by tuniski: 10:20am On Oct 07, 2018
mfm04622:
PDP won in those times because their opponent was never a national party. It is only with APC that South West has a national party that can compete with PDP in the South West.
They did not even field a Presidential candidate in 2003, but aligned with PDP.

In 2007, they didn't plan to field any candidate until Atiku defected to their party. In fact, the main factor was people know their candidates can't win because the party is limited to the SW and so some people vote for PDP
And in 2015 it was unusual that the conservative/oligarchy north, won narrowly the SW for the first time in our national political history.

I asked a question. You have not answered. What you said is your opinion. I will ask it again. Have you heard or seen or read where Saraki claimed to be Yoruba?
Is this a question? Will Buhari have to vow to being fulani or Wike swear to being Igbo abi Dino claim yoruba?
PoliticsRe: PDP Convention: South-east, North-east Delegates Split Over Saraki, Atiku by tuniski: 9:26am On Oct 07, 2018
mfm04622:
Of course PDP will always get votes in the South West.
Those are PDP's votes. I have not seen a candidate PDP can present that Yoruba will vote for because of the candidate. That is what I am saying. For example, in the North, some people will vote for Buhari and not APC. Which candidate will Yoruba vote for on his own and not for the party!
PDP cannot win South West. They couldn't win when they spent lots of money in 2015. How will they win when the money is not there to share this time?
PDP won SW 2003,2007,2011 so what are you talking about?

Atiku is sharing his loot and damning the consequence because he is unrepentantly, unapologetically corrupt.

Let me remind him that he is a product of fraud & not a good, marketable candidate. Even if he gives each delegate $1million, he will still not emerge winner of the primary

And you think Saraki can win?
Nigeria's elections is controlled by the NW and NE region....
SW is a hotbed...
NC is a swing and a big determinant......win it and you are home and dry..
Saraki is Kwara and cannot win any elections at Federal levels except he is supported by the NW and/or NE,same goes for any politician in Nigeria..........
To defeat Buhari,he can't win.....these politicians aren't fools nah...
The better chances lie with Atiku/Kwankwaso/Tambuwal.....

Saraki won't contest,he will step down....obviously for who will be favoured as the winner ..
That's the stark reality......
Your head is very correct Atiku is the ultimate man!

If we don't want to vote for ANN and SDP, then let's leave APC in power. PDP has nothing to offer. A party who after 16 years has nothing to show for it, can not suddenly change over night.

APC is just 3 years in power. Let's see how evil they are for another 4 years before we can really judge them.
