Mystick: Let the senators choose their leaders. All these moves will only give the opposition party upper hand as all the senators are selfish and can easily be encouraged to run for the position against the party's choice. Stop criminalizing ambition! All the elected Members of NASS have right to contest positions with or without party's endorsement. Their loyalty must be to Nigeria as sworn to on oath not party or president. |

kingkakaone: What is the connection about his position and Yoruba now? I saw one thread where someone said it is the Yorubas that always relate issues to Igbos when they are not connected.
Only the poorest of both tribes fight online while the richest and wealthiest of them are into partnership in businesses and entertainment.
Whenever I see a post about a Yoruba person insulting the Igbos or an Igbo person insulting the Yorubas, I only conclude that the person is either poor or foolish. Spot on!!!! |

buhariguy: one thing is sure, this inec rivers rec must go to jai like the former rec. Truth is even if apc had been on the ballot Wike/pdp will still win let alone where it is not. The AAC party didn't win a single Polling unit on the field let alone an LGA. Amaechi's rigging plans failed spectacularly to the glory of God. PU results are sacrosanct and Wike won all as evident from assembly Results already announced. |

Bighead9: You don't know nothing about Politics. The reason is this, he wanted an avenue where the court will entertain the case and he will make sure it drags till May 28th. By then, Wike will sieze to be Governor of Rivers and the new Speaker of the State Assembly will become the Acting Governor.
When the rerun take place, Wike will have no access to the State funds to buy his way to victory. If that happens, the AAC candidate will sweep the entire votes from the Local Governments where the rerun took place.
Any which way, wicked Wike must go. Hehehhee your moniker says Bighead, is your head paining you? Rivers election is done and dusted Wike/PDP has it by wide margin. |

Politics › Re: Support Lawal And Gbajamila, Or Leave APC, Tinubu Tells Senators by tuniski: 1:54pm On Mar 30, 2019 |
MetaPhysical: Okorocha has not received his certificate of return. INEC issues certificates to the elected, but a trick in the law has tied their hands from issuing certificate to the candidate in his Senatorial district. Why?
Its because the party applied a whip and suspended Okorocha when he started misbehaving. Okorocha won the contest but he was not the one elected, the party was elected. So the party told INEC we dont want our certificate for that constituency yet, we will let you know when we want it.
In Ogun State Amosun won also but has not been issued certificate. Same predicament with Okorocha.
So there are plenty tricks hidden in both the party rules and INEC procedures that Oshiomhole can invoke to whip sense into a misbehaving senator. It has never been used in past so many of these senators have never tasted the power of party discipline. They are about to find out. Stop Misrepresenting facts please. |

kahal29: My Oga, Goje has backed down his ambition. He is not that kind of politician. He earned my respect when he did not defect even when he had every reason to defect considering the way he was treated by the police who ransacked his house as if he was common criminal. He remained with the party and worked for the success of the party in the state.
Besides it was in the news this week that he has been pacified and that he retain the chairmanship of Appropriations committee. Leave all the long talk, on the day of inauguration we shall know who is in and who has backed out. Surprise is the name of the game. APC should watch it. Goje remaining in apc might even be his own strategy to senate presidency. |

If you say it isn't doesn't it also mean you are imposing Goje?
Buhari from time has said he can work with anybody.
At the end a choice would be made and we would all be here to witness it. Goje is currently the choice of the majorityof the senators. The moment a candidate is openly backed by buhari/tinubu/oshiomole such becomes a no for the matured freewill men and women of the senate. Shebi it will be secret ballot on the floor of the senate. We shall see whether a non voting person can determine NASS leadership. |

You losers should give it up already. There is no division between the leadership of APC. Buhari, Tinubu, Osinbajo, Oshiomhole, Lawan, Goje, Adamu etc are all on the same page as regards the leadership of the incoming 9th assembly. Ahmed Lawan will emerge as SP while Gbajabiamila is the next speaker. If you are not happy, use the lagoon. Be deceiving yourself. |

Since when did having a preferred candidate become imposotion?
It is imposition cos that is strictly a legislative corridor. Buhari/apc/oshiomole/tinubu open endorsement of Lawan will backfire and people like you will scream murder! Goje will defeat Lawan or any other senator the totality of the senate so desire. It is about their independence. The only way out is for apc to have just one candidate but, once an option exists aside Lawan that option will defeat him. |
