Good day House.

I'm new here, I have read most of the comments and responses.
Please which of the visa classes is the best to apply?
189 , 190, 489, 491

I have Bsc in Microbiology with over 8 years experience in Marketing. I'm also into Digital marketing, Website design and Video editing.
I have some certifications in IT(Oracle ), though I have not worked in this area before. I have PGD in Biomedical Engineering also.
Visa option is not your first task. Your first step is to identify the occupation you want to nominate and if you are eligible for it.
Which uni did you graduate from and which occupation do you want to nominate from the Skilled occupation list?

Good afternoon big man, please I need help on where I actually fit. I studied biochemistry and graduated in 2017 with a second class upper.

Since then I have been teaching chemistry and biology before getting a job in a Nigeria commercial bank in 2022. This is my 4th year as a banker and by the grace of God I will be completing my MBA (marketing) this year April.
Kindly advise me on where I fit in and the necessary steps to take, thank you.
Banker is not an occupation. You need to be specific about your role in the bank and the university you graduated from

Hi House! Please I need guidance and advice from experience members of the house

I hold a Diploma in Welding with 3 years of work experience as a welder. I recently applied for a skills assessment with Trades Recognition Australia (TRA), but unfortunately, I received a negative assessment. Reason for the Negative Outcome TRA stated that they were unable to verify: My employment, and My educational qualification due to lack of response from my employer. However, during my application, I clearly provided My employer’s official email address and My institution’s official email address. Instead of using the contact details I provided, TRA appears to have independently sourced email from the employer’s and institution’s websites (this is my thinking because they didn't disclose to me the email they've contacted). These emails are currently inactive with no specific person responsible to them, which likely explains why they received no response. Based on this, they issued a negative assessment to me.

TRA refused to consider my complain and instead they asked me to apply for a review and pay an additional fee or apply fresh application which both will cost me same amount of money. My concern is that I may receive the same outcome if they continue using email addresses other than those officially provided in my documents.

Alternative Option I Am Considering:

I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5 years of professional engineering experience. Because of this, I am considering switching my assessment pathway to Engineers Australia instead.

Key Questions I Need Advice On:

1️⃣ Should I proceed with TRA (review or fresh application)? This is because TRA occupations generally receive quicker invitations. The points requirement is often lower compared to Professional paths. However, I am worried about another negative outcome if they continue using inactive website emails instead of the official contact details provided in my application.

2️⃣ Should I abandon TRA and apply through Engineers Australia instead?Does Engineers Australia rely strictly on the official employer contact details submitted in the application? Or do they also source contact details independently like TRA?
Your best option is TRA (Engineers Australia assessment will be fast but nomination may never come) while Welder nomination is fast within a couple of weeks.

The email you supplied, is it an official email address with domain name and not gmail?
What you can do is in your application, put in a letter stating that the email on the website is not currently monitored and the company is not big on IT as it's a welding company.

Don't do a new application but a review.

@tunlex01 and everyone.

I am 30, married.
BSc (Ed) Computer Science Education with 5 years of experience FOR Secondary school teacher 190

I want to start my aitsl for my degree. Still, I researched things about tier 1 universities and from information gathered online that only a tier 1 degree university is accepted as AQF 7 standard BUT in my own case my degree is a *5 years course* is it eligible?

Just need clarification before I start the process.
Yes, only tier 1 qualify.
If your degree is not tier 1, then you need a PGDE.

Hi Everyone,

I am about to begin my Australian PR journey through the 491 pathway and i need some counsel on how to proceed.

I am 38 years
I have a BSc in Industrial relations & Personnel Mgt plus a MSc in Management science (both from Unilag)
I also have 9+ experience in HR
I have registered for CELPIP and current gathering my document for assessment for HUMAN RESOURCE ADVISER through Vetassess.
Furthermore i have a wife and 2 children.

My question is: what are the prospects for HR skillset in Australia and likelihood of being nominated from offshore?.
Prospects is not currently great but it may change for the better in the new financial year or otherwise.
You can assess for the occupation through Vetassess

Hello House, I'm 31yrs with a diploma(ND & HND) in elect/elect engineering I have have 3 years experience as a power distribution system operator and 2 years experience as a production Technician.
My wife is 27 and she studied biochemistry with 1 year experience as a lab scientist.
I have gone through the occupation list and I found;
323211 Fitter(general)
312312 Electrical Engineering Technician
312311 Electrical Engineering Draft person
What occupation do I have a very high chance on among the ones listed above.
Thanks 🙏
Fitter - not possible (requires a Mechanical engineering qualification)
Electrical Engineering technician - pls review the job descriptions very well to be sure it matches what you do to avoid a negative outcome. if they match, then you are good to go as long as you have Payslips, bank statement and pension for the last 3 years and you are still working.

Fitter is better but you don't qualify. 312312 is the next best thing

Ykolags:
Hello everyone,

I am about to begin my PR journey and would sincerely appreciate guidance from experienced members here.

I am 37 years old, single

B.Sc in Building Construction
Close to 5 years of total experience in the construction field
Over 1-year active internship
About 2 years of solid post-graduation experience (excluding NYSC)
NYSC at Lagos State Ministry of Works,
Registered my own construction company during NYSC (one-man business, handled projects independently)
Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering (completed in Poland). Currently partnering with a startup in the UK on waste management sustainability. (Freelance)
I currently work as a data centre technician here in Poland.
IELTS 7 (overall)

My concerns:
• I am currently living in Poland, my current job does not count as I don't have a degree in computer science
• My NYSC experience was at the Lagos state Ministry of Works — not sure if this counts for skill assessment.
• My self-employed experience has no payslips or tax documents. And I am outside Nigeria, not sure I can work that out
• My master’s in Environmental Engineering, not sure if my freelancing with this startup company in the uk counts
When did you stop working in Construction?
Do you still have your self-employment documents and evidnece of all the projects you carried out?

1. current job will not count.
2. Yes it may count if the job descriptions align with nominated occupation and you have documents to prove the year.
3. you can pay all your outstanding tax. For self employed, you dont need payslips. these are some of the documents you need:

Business (CAC) registration certificate
Bank statement showing business transactions
Company Income tax statement
Personal Income tax statement
Copies of invoice issued to customers
Copies of invoice received from suppliers
Organisational chart
Company Financial report

4. Depends on your job role with the startup and the job descriptions. If they don't match the nominated occupation then it won't count but if otherwise, it will count

Wow, you a have strong application in my view (just my personal opinion)

Teachers are in high demand.
And you are a field technician (also highly in demand in the mines and plants).
Best to research which of you would be the main applicant based on how easy to get all necessary documentations.

My humble opinion.
the person's qualification does not meet the requirement of AITSL

Madonna university is a tier 2 uni and as a result, your degree is considered an Associate degree (not bachelors) You may need ICAN or ACCA or masters to be able to assess as an Accountant in Australia

Please, can I apply for PR with Agricultural Scientist with my academic qualifications and get the visa as I have no work experience in agric field? Or should I apply with 4 years experience in healthcare and have NVQ Level 3 too?
you cannot apply for any agric related occupations without at least 1 year experience even if it's a farmer position.

Hi everyone, please hear me out.

What are my chances for an Australian PR? I am 28 and single, I have a B.Eng in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering and about 6 yrs experience as a Software Engineer, currently a senior software engineer in a company here in Nigeria.

The Anzsco code for my occupation is 261313: Software Engineer. I'll appreciate your candid opinion/advice. Thanks.
If you have payment evidence and evidence of project, you will have to go through RPL with ACS because you dont have a Computer science degree. you can read all the details here
https://www.acs.org.au/msa/assessment-pathway/rpl.html
your 6 years experience will be deducted to make up for not having a computer science degree.
Also note that most computer related occupations are not getting nominated based on the current financial year.

No not an issue.
Submit an EOI already.
It is you overall point that matters, the higher your overall points the better your chances for invitation.
Overall points does not count for skilled visa 189, 190 and 491 EOI. it's based on individual scores.

If you have L9 S9 R9 and W6.5, it's 0 point in EOI even though your overall will 8.5

You can request for a remark if you think you can get 8 points because overall point does not matter. it's individual scores.
You can still lodge EOI though, proficient english is 10 points while superior is 20 points

Early childhood is different from Primary School teacher.
ECT is 0-5 years while Primary is 5-11 because primary school starts from 5 in Australia.

During your PGDE, did you do your teaching practice in a primary school or an early childhood setting?

Thank you for the information. The teaching practice is 3-11 ages. And currently teaching with 7 years experience in government primary school.
If you taught 3-11, that may be classified more of primary though but you can still check out ACECQA and perhaps email them before you pay for the assessment.
Also your experience in primary school may not count if you select Early childhood.

Thanks for the information. I’m personally targeting the 491 visa. I noticed you did not speak much on Organization and methods analyst. As based on my responsibilities, Organisation and Methods Analyst (224712) is actually the most accurate ANZSCO match for my roles over the years.

My only question is about nomination viability, since 224712 isn’t on the critical lists.
Is it still a realistic pathway for 491 nomination, or would a closely aligned alternative like MP or ET offer a stronger chance?
Have you read the information sheet for Organisation and Method Analyst? Do you meet the qualification and employment requirements?
If yes, you can assess it too but it's not a priority occupation. So it's a gamble

MP or ET are good occupations but they also have a lot of people waiting as well.

Good day all, Thank you for all the comment, response and feedback on this thread. I really appreciate.

Please I want to apply for the skilled independent visa ( subclass 189)

Age: 29 years
Degree: B.tech Public Health technology from Futo.
Work experience: I worked one year in a primary health center as a facility health recorder.

Worked 5 years in a health tech firm. But we had a partnership or a contract with 100 primary health center in one of the Nigerian state which I was actively involved and it was a major part of my job role. We also had partnership with other private hospitals and facilities.

I want to apply for Primary Health Organisation Manager (ANZSCO 134213)

My questions are:
1. Can I apply for this role since my first degree is in public health and my work experience span directly and indirectly with primary health centers.

2. Since October last year I stopped working in a health related field and I’m now into design more like tech. Does it affect my application as for the past one year I do not currently work in a health field.

3. Is the occupation Primary Heath Organization Manager very saturated and do you think I can get nominated with a point of 65 to 75.

4. Do I need to provide evidence like payslip, tax ID etc when applying?

5. I currently have a masters degree though but it’s in web design and development. And since I want to use the health route, do I need to mention it in my application.

Please I expect your kind response and apologies for asking many questions at once. Thanks
I want to believe your B.tech was 5 years (10 semesters).

Not sure how you arrived at Primary Health Organization Manager occupation. As the name implies, you need to be a manager managing the overall affairs of a primary health organisation.
Read the requirement in this information sheet - https://www.vetassess.com.au/check-my-occupation/professional-occupations/primary-health-organisation-manager
be sure your role and employment information actually aligns. You will also need to provide an organogram to show your level, the teams reporting to you and the people you report to.

1. Yes, only if you meet the requirement in the information sheet above.

2. It doesnt affect your application. For Vetassess application, you need to submit the application for an occupation you are working in or have worked in in the last 5 years.. After 5 years, you will no longer be eligible. The only downside is getting a nomination. Some states may not nominate you if you are not currently working in your nominating occupation.

3. Not saturated but nomination on 75 may be a tall order because most doctors who are leaders go for this occupation to get into Australia and avoid AMC process while offshore until they are able to come in. It's worth a shot though!

4. yes

5. No you dont have to
