I would also recommend Licensed Immigration Advisers as a Nigerian, it may seem costly but much cheaper in the long run because they will legally guide all the way till visa is out. Speaking from experience.
Can you recommend any?

Thank you.
I checked SUB CLASS 189 but the skilled work am seeing i dont think i have experience on that.
I have 4 year experience in banking
1 year in customer support
currently am in sales sales of IT Solutions (business technology solution)
I dont intend to travel yet with my kids and also i did my bsc in a foreign school(Benin republic) for now due to ban i cant apply for exemption letter what are my chances.
banking if it's operation or branch sales is not on the list.
You may want to check ICT SAles rep if you have a Masters. I dont think your Bsc from Benin is considered a Bsc in Australia

You cannot assess as a teacher without a qualification in education.
Make sure the Masters in Education has teaching practice component

Please any opportunity for somebody at 45year of age? I held Hnd, pgd mechanical, and Msc engineering management. I have about 16 years of experience in manufacturing company as maintenancemanager/engineer. What visa route is the best due to my age.
For over 45, only opportunity is through employer sponsored visa 482 which does not give PR due to age limit. The DAMA variant of 482 on the other hand may give you the option to get PR but you need to find an employer who has DAMA agreement.

Are there tutorials centers and how is the exam like in general?
Check NATI website and online resources for the info. I dont have much info on it. There isnt tutorial center because Nigerian qualifications were recently added about a few months ago

Hello Everyone.
Please there has been no draws for the Australian Skilled workers migration program for this year and we are already In August.
Please does anyone know if it has been paused? Asking that because for the past few years, there are at least 2 draws each year with the first one always on or before July 31st.
The financial year starts every July. They already nominated all the allocation for 189 in the last financial year within the first few months (from July 2024-Jan 2025).
Nomination will start again as soon as the planning levels are released.

Bachelor of Pharmacy (UDUS)
I graduated 2019.
Internship 1year
Community and hospitality pharmacy 2years 2020-2022
Medical Representative [Ethical] 3 years 2022- Date
You should be able to assess as a Pharmacist then take the OPRA exams afterwards.
Sadly, you cannot get point for experience since you are not currently working as a Pharmacist.

Good morning all.

I appreciate you all for your contributions to this thread.

I want to seek your advice on the best approach to go about skilled worker immigration to Aus.

Here's the summary of my profile

1. Age 30
2. Single
3. bsc computer engineering 2020
4. 4 years experience tech infrastructure
5. No iELTS yet
6. Currently in Nigeria

Please I want to know what is the best route, what are my chances with this profile and what are the things I can do to improve my chances.

Thank you very much God bless.
Best route will be the skilled visa route (189, 190 and/or 491).
Chances can only be determined by the occupation you want to nominate and your total points.
Which occupation do you want to nominate (read a few posts back, I posted the guide to check your occupation)
Improve your chances by having superior English test resut, take the NAATI translation exam if you speak/understand any of the two Nigerian languages currently recognised in Australia (Yoruba and Igbo), that can give you extra 5 points. Remaining single also give 10 points.

Hello @tunlex01 and members,

Please I need your advice again.

I have a BSc in Political Science and Public Administration (2017) and around 4 years of experience in community engagement.

I’m considering applying for the Community Worker (ANZSCO 411711) skills assessment for a 491 visa with Community Work Australia .

Do you think I have a good chance with this profile?
Also, are there any important things I should consider before starting the assessment?

Thanks in advance for your help.
Yes, if you have the employment evidence and your course content aligns with Community worker role

This thing you keep saying that some Nigerian degrees are not rated needs to stop. There has not been anyone here or elsewhere that has had a bad encounter with UNIBEN degrees for Australia. Stop spreading false information for your advantage. It's unfair
lol...
I’ve been involved in this migration process since 2018 and have seen enough outcomes; both positive and negative to understand how Nigerian qualifications are typically classified under the AQF system. This is not some made-up claim. What would I possibly gain by telling people to do the right thing?
For context, I have a subscription to the official database that details how qualifications from all countries are benchmarked against Australian standards. Myself and a few other OGs have actively been pushing for change, both through the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC) and the Australian Department of Education to have these reviewed.
So, when I speak on this issue, it's not from a place of assumption. Our collective efforts on platforms like Nairaland, YouTube, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Telegram have likely helped many Nigerians avoid wasting money and instead apply for occupations that align better with their actual qualification level. If you haven’t seen many negative results, it may be because people are more likely to share their successes than their negative assessments.

If you’re still unsure, I encourage you to try assessing a level 1 occupation using a standard 4-year UNIBEN degree (without a Master’s) and share the result.

I don’t know yet but I intends to move with a family of 5 (not spouse but my siblings and I). Just want to know if it’s possible. My sister has a Bsc in banking and finance from uniben too. Is it possible to apply for the skilled independent visa with one of us being the principal applicant? Note: No work experience. We were running our mums business.
Technically, member of family unit includes only partner and children. Siblings are considered family members (not member of family unit)and cannot be added to your application. Family members haves to fend for their own application process individually.
