iceberge: I was interviewed at the abuja embassy yesterday, 25th of july, by a white lady in window 7. It was a very brief interview. I'm not sure if it lasted up to 2mins and most of the time was spent typing by her. Below is my transcript (so sorry its short, thats just how it happened)
VO: pass me ur passport and I20 pls (i did. she typed for a few seconds-really fast) so why San Diego State? ME: because Prof Oxxx's research work resonates with me. I am interested in....(VO cuts in) VO: I see ur assistantship covers the entire cost ME: Yes. Moreso, i was just recently awarded a University Fellowship...(Cuts in quite excitedly) VO: By San Diego State? ME: Yes VO: What was your masters degree on? ME: Materials Engineering VO: I see. I will be approving your visa! (passes white paper)
NB: I am going for a PhD in Engineering Sciences on a fully funded RA and just recently got the prestigious University Graduate Fellowship Congratulations. Go and Excel |

daking10: Good evening people..... I've been a silent follower of this thread in the days leading to my interview.
I had my interview on the 21st July... Was slated for 10:45am but got there before 8am. The biometrics and checking in where painstaking. At the end ofth day I found myself facing the VO and the following interview ensued ...
VO: Good morning
ME: Good morning (smiling but the cool dude didn't seem to be in the mood for that)
VO:What are you going to study?
ME: I am going to University of Toledo to do my masters in chemical engineering, same course I have a Bachelor's degree in
VO: Why this course (actually for some weird or obvious reason I never saw this question coming, like my undergraduate degree is in chemical engineering what course was he expecting me to do a masters in) so I kinda motioned like I didn't get his question and he repeated it.
ME: I want to do a masters in chemical engineering so I could specialize in catalysis and sustainable energy especially in the area of biofuels, in my undergraduate research I worked on the synthesis of an ultra stable catalyst for use in breaking down petroleum product (wanted to say FCC (fluid catalytic cracking) but the word skipped my mind). With that knowledge I want to delve into the aspect of sustainable energy and work on catalysts that would be applicable.... (Actually I was so taken aback by the question that I couldn't make my response cohesive towards the end but I didn't let that show in my countenance)
VO:Where did you hear of this school
ME: Actually when I wanted to apply for graduate school I discussed with my undergraduate research supervisor who suggested some schools to me with Utoledo being one of them. After which I checked the department website and discovered alligned faculty interest in catalysis and energy, I reached out to a faculty whose research I'm interested in and she shared her journal with me and was open to me joining her lab. Then I used USnews.com to see the ranking and school profile while I also used grad cafe to see acceptance rates for profiles similar to mine and discovered I stand a good chance
VO: What will this course do for you
ME: I plan to take up a lecturing position in my alma matter, I have been discussing with my undergraduate research supervisor who was the HOD while I was in school and he has assured me the department will be willing to receive me especially as I not only graduated as the best student in the department but also as the best student in engineering and the whole school and received both Dean's and VC's award at my convocation
VO: I'll be approving your visa....then said the normal pickup thing and handed me the white paper
ME: thanks. Walking away like an achieved man trying to contain the smile....
I did learn a great deal from here....this is me giving back. Congratulations scholar. Go and Excel |

lalahhh: Im sorry but my post will be long. I decided to post this after seeing that my AP status changed to issued. First I’ll like to thank God for everything, Sorelee I thank you so so much, words can’t express how grateful I am to you. Ubah1 thank you for encouraging me. Kekenation thank you too. You guys are amazing. I have been to the embassy 7 times , 4 times last year and 3 times this year. I don’t think my last year’s transcripts would be necessary. So here’s my first interview transcript for this year. Me- Good morning VO- pass me your I 20 and passport VO- where are you going to? Me- North Carolina Central University, Durham, North Carolina for my masters in( VO cuts in) VO- what are you going for? Me- My Masters Degree in History VO- how did you get this assistantship? Me- The department’s Chair was impressed with my GRE, my transcript, statement of purpose and essay. VO- so why did you change course and school ? Me- sorry? I didn’t get that. VO- the last time you were here you were wanted to go to Arcadia so why change to NCCU? Me- Arcadia gave me partial scholarship while NCCU gave me the full ride and in NCCU, I get to minor in courses related to Peace and Conflict Resolution. VO- so who would pay for other expenses Me- I have family funds VO-which family? Me- My Uncle VO- what does he do? Me - he works with the Kwara state government, at the Lower Niger River Basin. VO- where does he live? Me- Kwara state She looks at the I 20 for a while then drops it She asked for bank statement which I gave to her She stared at it for a while , typed somethings ... In my mind I was just praying , then she asked VO- why is your Uncle paying Me- my parents sent his to school so this is more like a more thank you and he has the money VO- how many siblings do you have ? Me- 5 VO- which Uncle would be paying for them? Me- I am the last child VO - what’s the name of your Uncle Me- I said his name Then she picked up the I 20 again .... looked at it again and asked VO- are you married? Me- NO I’m not VO- do you have children? Me - No I don’t Then she finally said I’m sorry you are not found eligible at this time. This was lagos embassy. I was advised to try Abuja embassy and I did. Interview was for June 30th. VO- Good morning , Pass your I-20 Me- Answered her while passing it. VO- I see you have been denied in Lagos , why come to Abuja ? Me- after being denied I informed the school and I was asked to please try again but I checked Lagos embassy and I couldn’t get an early date but I got here in Abuja. VO- while nodding her head, what are you going to do in United States of America Me- I’m going for my masters in History in North Carolina Central University VO- how many schools did you apply to? Me- 4. University of Wyoming, Texas A&M, North Carolina A&T and NCCU. VO- I see you have full tuition waver Me - Ohh yes while opening all my 36 Then she picked up the white paper, in my mind I was saying Ohhh yes, come to Mama... I’m right here baby , then she looked at me my heartbeat increased rapidly. VO- where is you sister Me - Confused n lost .... sorry? VO- I said where is your sister? Me- she’s in USA on OTP VO- why isn’t she back? When did she travel? When is her date of birth? When did she travel? Me- ahhhh I don’t know the answers to all these questions.. we are not so close VO- wait I’m trying to help you out here Me - shaking, already disorganized Then she finally said it ... I’m sorry I won’t be issuing your visa. Me - why? What’s wrong? So I got home, with the mind of this is the end , called my sister and explained everything to her . She explained the part I mixed and begged me to go one more time, reluctantly I said ok. Luckily for me, we got July 19th on that same day. Truthfully I wasn’t so hyped about the last interview, I was dressed casually. I got interviewed by this middle aged woman on Ankara. A very nice woman I must add infact the nicest VO I ever came across. So here is the third transcript Me- Goodmorning VO- Good morning, you passport and I-20 please I gave it to her VO - ohhh NCCU Me - yeah North Carolina Central University VO- so who’s sponsoring you? Me- I have full tuition waver and family support VO- family support? Me- yea my uncle. VO- what does he do? Me- he works with Kwara state Government at the Lower Niger River Basin VO- Kwara state? Me- yea Kwara state. VO- where is that on the map? While looking at her map Me- can you see Oyo state? It’s right beside Oyo state. VO- ohhh wow , I can see it now . VO- I see you have been denied twice , what has changed about your application? Me- the last time I came here , i noticed the VO kept asking me questions about my sister that I didn’t know about and she ended up denying me. I went home, called my sister and she explained everything to me. VO- so explain it to me too Me- I did . Told her everything VO- you see the main reason why you have been denied all these while is because of your family history, you sister finished school and she didn’t return. Me- but she’s still in OTP and that’s my sister not me VO- i know and that’s why it’s called family history . il do you a favour , il overlook it Me- thank you so much VO- wait Me - in my mind, mo daran kilotun sele bayii VO- il place you on AP , if we find anything fraudulent about your documents, you will be banned from entering the USA for life. Me - No wahala , they are all real. VO- Are you sure? make sure you travel before classes starts or else you will be turned back at the port of entry. Me - ok ma’am. Thank you . Please can I pick up a tissue VO - sure please do, take as much as u need . Me- picked up the tissue and left I might have forgotten some questions asked sha but this is all I can remember. I have found this thread really helpful. The main thing is be well prepared, be organized and learn from people. Thank you so much once again Sorelee Ubah1 Kekenation Ekebs I really hope they issue yours too soon. CONGRATULATIONS. THIS IS GOD'S FAVOUR |

aamstih: Was interviewed by a white guy, can't recall his window number, I was the second person he interviewed, the first was approved, she was representing her coy for a music stuff.
Me: Good morning Vo: Pass me your documents
Me: Good morning and I passed them. Vo: Good morning and how are you.
Me: Fine
Vo: Where are you going to? Me: Texas A&M University
Vo: Tell me about your Educational Background.
Me: I studied Environmental Technology at the Federal University of Technology.
Vo: I see, you graduated in 2012, what have you been doing since then.
Me: Currently, I am working with ***** as the Environment, Occupational Health, and Safety Officer.
Vo: What do you plan to do after studies.
Me: I am coming back to my present employers
Vo: Are you on study leave?
Me: Not at the moment, the process would be finalized on the approval of my visa and I have a 'no objection letter' from them here (I tried making a move to bring it out).
Vo: Don't worry keep your documents
Vo: Did you apply to just this school?
Me: No, I applied to Eastern Illinois Uni, University of San Francisco, and Tamuk
Vo: What is the similarity between these schools?
Me: The three schools posses great pro-environmental initiatives; EIU possess a biomass reserach centre which generates power to the whole school while Tamuk has has an institute of sustainable energy and the environment... Kind of cuts me off
Vo: why Tamuk-
Me: Sincerely sir, ( I didn't believe I had to say this), it is because of the Institute of sustainable energy and the environment which is dedicated to research and innovation in the field of Air Quality, sustainable energy, water resources, and Environmental Sustainability. Sir, you can agree with me that these are the current environment all challenges we face in Nigeria and even in the world at large, Tamuk has a Javelina sustainability community (didn't even explain the significance) and I was also offered an out-of-state tuition waiver... I forgot to mention the relevance of some of the courses on the curriculum to the current global environmental challenges.
Vo: Did you do any tests?
Me: Yes sir... I did the GRE and TOEFL.
Vo: are you with your score sheet? let me see it.
Me: presented both GRE and TOEFL, he looked at the GRE alone.
Who would be paying: I got an out of state tuition waiver and my mum would ... cuts me off
VO: yeah... Your out of state is just 1/3rd, who would pay the rest?
Me: my mum
Vo: What does she do?
Me: she's the school administrator of ****** and she's into real estate (it is an estate account).
Vo: Is she the owner of the school?
Me: No, she is in charge of running it ( I forgot to mention the organisation that owns it)
Vo: Do you have her account statement?
Me Yes, here it is.
Vo: Who is Dr. *****
Me: My late dad, my mum currently runs the account.
Vo: you would be picking your visa at the circled location.
Me: thank you, sir.
I thank God for success... CONGRATULATIONS. GO AND EXCEL! |

paulbets: My F1 Visa Transcript @ Lagos US Embassy The Interview proper went thus: (I took a little while before I approached him and He was smiling to me here cause of the drama I saw between him and an applicant who he just denied visa, and how the guy refused to go and insisted that the VO should tell him what to do or school to choose or even course to apply for)
VO: Good Morning, how are you? Me: I am fine Sir thank you, Good Morning and how is work going? VO: Very fine. Pass me your documents Me: I passed him the document very slowly VO: Which school are you going to? Me: Loyola University Chicago VO: What Course? ME: MSc Bioinformatics VO: How many schools did you apply to? ME: 4 Schools in all. And they are Loyola University Chicago, University of Memphis, Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis, and Virginia Commonwealth University at Richmond VO: How many admitted you? ME: All 4 schools admitted me. VO: So why did you choose Loyola ME: Well, I chose Loyola mainly because of the perfect research fit i have with my supervisor whose work on prediciting gene regulation across diverse population is a specialised extension of my bsc project. Secondly i got full scholarship that covers all my expensis; that is, full tuition scholarship, full health and dental insurance coverage and a very generous stipend. VO: Tell Me about your BSc Project? ME: I worked on targetting the 16srRNA, dupA, and ureA genes in H.pylori, and by extension to develop a method that could be used for diagnosis of H.pylori and ulceration in paediatric population ( He Seemed Impressed here with a smile and cut me short) VO: What year did you graduate? ME: 2015, from the University of Lagos. I studied Cell Biology and Genetics VO: I know you did NYSC? What year did you finish the NYSC? And what have you been doing since then? ME: Yes in 2016. I served in a Village secondary school where i taught chemistry and physics to ss1 to ss3 students. However, after service i stayed back to see my ss3 students through to their waec and neco, and the principal and the village community were very supportive of me. After that, I came back to Lagos and took a Job with a pharmaceutical company as a medical sales rep. However i resigned few months later to ready my applications for my msc academic pursuit, I also continued private tutoring for students.. (Then He cut me short) VO: Did you write any test? ME: Yes, I wrote GRE and TOEFL VO: What are your scores? ME: Well i wrote GRE twice actually and I got 304 and 306. On TOEFL i got 103. (He Looked very impressed here too, and kept giving me glimmer of smiles) VO: How much is your stipend? ( He asked is it 1500$ per month?) ME: No, it's 2000$ per month ( He smiled again, I was also smiling too) VO: So what will you be doing to receive this stipend? ME: I will be working as a research assistant for my supervisor. So i will be assisting in carrying out genome sequencing and analysis, and also tutoring undergraduates in the Lab. VO: Have you travelled out of Nigeria before? ME: Yes, I have been to University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus for a Summer School on a Commonwealth scholarship. The scholarship was awarded to me because of the essay I wrote on the prospects of transgenic technology in solving world food crisis. (He kept flashing smiles and looking impressed) VO: So what will you do after your studies? ME: I will return back to Nigeria to take up lecturing and research position in my school. My department has plan underway to create a bioinformatics unit that will be charged with genomic data analysis, I will also be working and consulting with several research institutes in Nigeria (He cut me short again) VO: So you do not want to go for PhD after your MSc? ME: Well, because of the changing nature of the field of bioinformatics as it is relatively new, research questions will also be diverse in the years to come. So i will like to work in order to determine that research question I want to answer before considering PhD. VO: So you are saying if Loyola gives you fully funded PhD that you will not take it? (He was smiling at me here) ME: I will like to return back to Nigeria (He cut me short and laughed at me plus smiles) VO: well it is not bad for you to go on to PhD. ME: Yeaaaaaaa (Me Smiling too) VO: Your Visa has been approved. (He cirled the Muri Okunola address for my pick up, Then I smiled and brought my ear closer to hear all he was explaining. And he also had this excited expression on his face as he was instructing me about my I-20) VO: Remember to have your I-20 on you when you are travelling or else they will send you back at the POE (I laughed here, and he smiled too and advised that I should travel before class starts on 27th August) ME: Thank you and do have a great day.
Very special thanks to Walspring009 for also assisting in paying my sevis fees. Thank you very much ProfOjah1234 for all the Ginger and help. And bobority I appreciate. And Much thanks to Learner007 for the numerous mock interviews you had with me. Boss I appreciate greatly. Boss Bigfrancis21 thank you very much for the supports your are giving me.
All Thanks be to God Almighty!

YoungTesla: Went for my interview on July 19, 2019 was placed on AP, Visa was issued the next day on the 20th.
Was interviewed by the Elderly white VO, I have only wished to be interviewed by a VO with a calm and friendly demeanor fortunately I got one, I can’t deal with having a conversation with someone with an off-putting countenance, I won’t function properly.
This VO allowed me talk extensively and I was fully prepared to give the speech of my life , for my mind Oh.
VO: Good morning Me: Good morning Sir (smiled to create a good impression)
VO: I see your are going to Texas A&M University in Kingsville Me:yes
VO: why? Me: To pursue a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
VO: Do you have a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering? Me: Yes, I have a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
VO: In what year? Me: December , 2014.
Vo:How did you hear about this school? Me: I’m an avid reader of the journals, articles and conference papers published on the the IEEE xplore website with a bias towards renewable energy, smart grids, internet of things and micro AC/DC Grids as it aligns with my area of research Interest, Fortunately I stumbled upon a conference paper that won the best paper at the IEEE electro-info conference in Nebraska in the March of 2017 ,by a certain faculty member in the Electrical and Computer Science department of TAMUK, Dr. Kim, I sent him a mail and he required me to send my Resume and Statement of purpose and subsequently encouraged me to apply to TAMUK because in-fact there is an ongoing research in Sustainable renewable energy and distributed generation at the department ...... VO cuts in
VO: You served with the Nigeria Army, What have you been doing after your NYSC? Me: After my Youth Service I got a job with **** Power Plc, in July 2016 as a Trainee Engineer, and after a year I was confirmed as a member of Staff.
Vo: what are your duties? Me: Maintenance of generators, Circuit Breakers, Relays , Electric Motors and other Electrical Equipment Critical to Electricity Generation process, Inspect Electrical installations and observe if its operation are in conformity with safety standards.........VO interrupted
Vo: how many schools did you apply to? Me: 5
VO: Mention them Me: University of Florida in Gainesville, Michigan Tech University in Houghton, Northern Illinois University in Delkab, University of New Haven in Connecticut and Texas A&M University In Kingsville..... I was rejected by UFL.
VO: So why did you pick TAMUK over MTU and UNH? Me: First, I was quite fascinated with the work of Dr Kim as I said earlier, second ,due to the ongoing research in the department in Renewable Energy which is one of the few solutions we have to the Energy crises in Nigeria, third, I was offered the New Grad Student scholarship which provided a 33.2% mark down on the initial cost of attendance, and $1000 to cover for few textbooks, and lastly, South Texas has one of the warmest weathers in the US, the data I got from the website usclimatedata.com with regard to Kingsville is quite close to what’s obtainable in Nigeria, this will enable me to acclimatize quickly with the new environment and face my studies squarely.
VO: Did you write any test? Me: Yes, I wrote the GRE and TOEFL
VO: What are your score? ME: I had 160 in the quant section and 151 in the Verbal section , and i had 101 in TOEFL.
VO: What will you do with this degree? ( he immediately looked at me, me sef kuku stared into his soul, i didn’t even flinch) Me: This degree will enable me seek better remuneration from my current Employer and equip me with the right skill Sets to start my own enterprise as a Renewable Energy Specialist on the long term. I always tell my colleagues that Power Engineering business is the most lucrative business in Nigeria even more than any country in the world because of our demography, we have a power deficit of about 75 million and we are only able to generate about a meagre 4000MW, though we have the capacity to generate 12,000MW,( VO tries to cut me short, but I raised my voice and spoke very fast) about 20 million households are not connected to the National grid, so there is a huge target market and plethora of Opportunities.
(VO tries to Cut in but I continued,I no gree u must hear this oh) as a matter of fact your country is aware of these opportunities, there is a grant from USAID through the Power Africa program for entrepreneurs who are interested in Renewable Energy, to the tune of $100,000, so the opportunities are enormous back home. And this is my motivation behind getting this degree... VO cuts in
VO: Who’s paying? Me: My Uncle
VO: why is he paying? Me: He’s been responsible for my education in one way or the other, Initially when I told him about my plans to study abroad he told me to come up with a proposal to see if getting this degree is worth the money, I guess he saw how viable my plans are on the long run.
VO: What does he do? ME: He is a Senior Facilities Manager at ***** Company, one of the biggest Oil coy in the world.
VO: can I see his statements? Me: (I handed it over to him and while he was checking it I added ) It’s a domiciliary account and the funds there are specifically earmarked for the purpose of my studies to forestall any issues with Foreign Exchange fluctuations. He picked a white paper from the top shelf, i didn’t even know it’s the famous white Paper, Cos at that point I was prepared to receive any paper either white or blue, Cos getting the blue paper seem like the norm on that particular day. He ticked administrative processing and told me if the Statements are not genuine I will be banned from the USA for at least 10 years.........My status changed the next day on the 20th.
Special thanks to Walspring for helping me with my TOEFL payment , mackynaija for helping me with my I-20 and inspiring me with his thread, and finally to all the contributors on this invaluable thread, as at August 2017 I know nada about the F1 Visa application processes, this thread saved me thousands of Bucks that could have easily gone to those atrocious Visa Agents. Thanks Y’all. Congratulations. Go and excel! |

Husky14: Good day all,
Initially, I wanted to post my Transcript when I collect my passport at my preferred collection centre, but the thought that some fellows here might have visa appointment(and can equally learn from my experience) before I finally get my passport has propelled me to post it now. Also, since my status has changed from 'Administrative Processing' to 'Issued' leaves me with little need for worries.
I was among the last ten persons that were interviewed that day so you could imagine the kind of patience that was displayed that day.
My Visa Transcript on Thursday at US Embassy Abuja. Was called to Window 9
VO: Pass me your passport and i-20, fast please Me: I passed them VO: How did you hear about this school? Me: I got to know about Michigan Tech University when I was researching on top chemical engineering schools with research area on membrane separation technology
She was busy looking at my i-20, and immediately raised her face and said to me"wow..you are going full scholarship!" I smiled back blushingly.
VO: How did you get it? Me: I had Skype Interview with my potential supervisor after which he recommended me to graduate committee for consideration
VO: Can I see your offer letter? Me: I took my time and found it in my file and gave it to her
She read it for a while and continued.. VO: How many schools did you apply to? Me: I also applied to University of Texas, Austin and Auburn University, Alabama VO: How many admits? Me: This is the only admit I got VO: Where did you do your Master's? Me: I am interested in Research that was why I opted for Direct PhD VO: What will you be specialising on? Me: I will be specialising on membrane separation technology, we will be researching on the use of membrane in treatment of water and industrial wastewater, and also for gas separation.
VO: The two other schools you applied were they Masters or PhD? Me: I applied for PhD in all of them
VO: Do you have any family in the US? Me: Not yet
VO: What will you do with this degree? Me: On completion of my program, I will have equipped myself with research expertise and necessary knowledge that will enable contribute to evolution of Engineering in Nigeria. It will also make me more productive when I return to lecture in Unizik.
It seemed she asked another question but I didn't hear that......she typed for a while and told me something I didn't hear completely, ".......... pick up your passport after 4 working days, congratulations and be careful..."She gave me the white paper and my i-20.. More grace to those about to go for their appointments.. Thanks so much to everyone who has posted or commented on this thread; your inputs served me greatly during my preparations. I am most grateful Congratulations. Go and Excel |

ajxii: Vo: Good Morning Me: Good Morning (Me not looking at him focused on bringing out my documents)
VO: Why are you going to the US? Me: I am going to the University of Oklahoma for masters in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. I will be concentrating on Control and Power systems.
VO: Why this course: Me: The biggest problem in the Nigerian power sector is Energy tracking and Energy fraud. Disco **stammered here and said** Distributing… **sorry** …distribution company can’t track the amount of energy consumed by their consumer. They …blah blah blah (I lost my train of thought). Me: I don’t know why am nervous.
VO: Smiles and lean forwards then replies … Calm down, I don’t want you to give a rehearsed answered Me: No, I am not, I am just trying to articulate my thoughts.
VO: OK Good.. go on Me: Genco… I mean generating company needs to be paid for energy produced and if the disco can’t track the amount of energy consumed by the consumers then we have a problem with revenue collection. I believe this course would provide me with the right skills to solve this problem. I would be providing automated tracking systems, smarts meter and … (Vo cuts in)
VO: How many schools did you apply to? Me: 3
VO: List them? Me: The University of Oklahoma, University of Tennessee, Tennessee Tech University.
VO: Why OU? Me: Sincerely, rankings. In terms of Quality of education, research interest and facilities, these schools meet my requirements. OU is ranked above the other rest, I have friends in Oklahoma so settling wouldn’t be an issue and the control in OU is combined with instrumentation, so technically OU provides me with more options.
VO: Are you married? Me: No
VO: Kids? Me: No
VO: How would you be funding? Me: (bringing out my prodigy award letter) I secured a student loan from prodigy finance.
VO: (Reaching for the letter) is the amount stated in the letter? Me: Yes
VO: What is the interest? Me: 10.8% per annum
VO: And how will be …. Never mind…I will be approving your visa (circles the white sheet) … Me: I was confused…did not hear anything…. I heard … 3days and VI. He passes me my I-20 and kept my passport in among other passports. I was confused and stood there waiting for my passport to be returned before I realized oo I might have gotten this Visa. Congratulations. This is just a manifestation of favour. I think if it was the black american lady all ur ehm, ehm, stop nd say sorry nd later continue for don land u BLUE PAPER. Enjoy Trump's land |

ghs007: I just checked my visa application status on the CEAC website and it is showing Administrative Processing and it was updated today. My visa was approved yesterday, the consular officer told me that my visa was approved. She gave me the pickup letter and did not circle any location ( I think she didn't circle the pickup location because I think she was rushing because I was the last person to be interviewed yesterday in Abuja). I hope there is no problem because the status showed Application received earlier today. Any changes yet. If not, stay hopeful. The visa is yours. |

Visa Approved by 6:30am today. I arrived the consulate at 5:10am and was able to be among the first 12 people to be attended to. The guy at window 4 interviewed me.
V.O: Good morning ME: Good morning
(Pass me your passport and i-20)
V.O: Why are you going to the U.S ME: I am going for my masters in computer science and quantitative methods with concentration in mathematical finance at the Austin Peay State University Clarksville, TN
V.O: Why this course? Me: Having acquired a bachelor's degree in Industrial Mathematics. A master's degree in computer science and quantitative methods with concentration in mathematical finance will help me achieve my career goal of being a quantitative analyst in the investment banking and financial services industry in Nigeria.
V.O: How many schools did you apply to? ME: 3 schools
V.O: Name them? ME: Austin Peay State University, Florida state University, North Carolina State University.
V.O: Why this school? ME: I was offered a graduate assistantship and most importantly, the research conducted by Prof Sam Jator who happens to be the chair of the department of mathematics and statistics aligns with my area of interest which is to consider methods for testing option pricing models including the black scholes model, constant elasticity of variance model, stochastic volatility model and the jump diffusion model. I also discovered from my research that majority of the faculty major in applied mathematics. I will like to work in such a department.
V.O: Are you married? ME: No, I am not
V.O: Do you have kids? ME: No, I don't
V.O: Have you travelled out before? ME: No, i have had no reason to

V.O: What does he do? ME: He is a member of the board of directors of an asset management firm (**** asset management Ltd) which is a member of the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
V.O: Do you have his bank statement? ME: Yes (I then pass the SOA to him)
V.O: Your Visa is approved. You can go to the circled location on the white paper after 3 days to collect your passport. Kindly focus on your studies. ME: Thank you
P.S: In all of these, i can say "IT CAN ONLY BE GOD". Prepare as if God does not exist and Pray as if your preparations is Nothing.
Thanks to @Falana who helped to correct my transcript and helped with numerous mock interviews. My God bless you plenty.
Thanks to @Ubah1 who also helped in going through my proposed transcripts before the actual interview.

The hatred for Trump to me is simply disgusting. He is the best American president i have seen in my lifetime. Look at what he has done with the economy, the military (Even PUTIN would wish he didnt get elected): 700 billion dollars, Stronger NATO with all countries stepping up funding, AVAILABLE JOBS MORE THAN THE UNEMPLOYED.
Hating Trump should make anyone look DUMB and DAFT. Stop eating liberal news lies (CNN,NBC) and look at the statistics of what he is done. |

Business › Mark Zuckerberg Is Now The Third-richest Person Alive by Tunmise100(op): 11:50pm On Jul 06, 2018 |
Move over, Warren Buffett: Mark Zuckerberg is now the third-richest person in the world.
The Facebook CEO jumped ahead on Friday with a net worth of $81.6 billion, according to calculations by Bloomberg. That put him about $373 million in front of Buffett, the legendary investor and Berkshire Hathaway ( BRKA ) CEO.
Zuckerberg claimed the No. 3 spot on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index because Facebook ( FB) shares rose 2.4%. The stock has spiked about 15% this year. For the first time, the three richest people alive are all tech titans. Amazon's Jeff Bezos, worth about $141 billion, is first, followed by Microsoft ( MSFT ) founder Bill Gates, according to the Bloomberg index.
Tech stocks have been a bright spot in a sometimes volatile market this year. Netflix ( NFLX ) has more than doubled, Amazon ( AMZN) has surged 46%, Apple ( AAPL ) is up about 11%, and Google ( GOOG) has gained 9%.
Lindsey Bell, an investment strategist with CFRA Research, said last month that she expects tech stocks to help lead the market higher over the next year.
Buffett is betting on tech, too. Berkshire Hathaway bought about 75 million shares of Apple stock during the first three months of the year, adding to the 165 million shares it already had. He was relatively late to tech. Buffett didn't report his first purchase of Apple shares until two years ago. Now Apple is one of Berkshire's largest holdings.
Buffett gives billions of dollars to charity every year. Zuckerberg has pledged to give away 99% of his Facebook shares. — CNN's Chris Isidore |

All i did was to copy nd paste for the individual who needs it. Going through your posts since you registered your moniker on Nairaland, you seem to be a cool guy. I mean no disrespect but i would simply advice you think very critically before typing...... |

Dopekidd: Hello everyone. I didn't upload passport for my DS 160 application form, i hope I'm safe if i just go to the embassy with two passport photos? Do this to avoid unnessary cost and "STORIES THAT TOUCH" : Once it is submitted, it is submitted and it cannot be retrieved. I don't understand the rush many potential applicants have in submitting their DS160s too early when it cannot be retrieved after submission. For reasons like this I always recommend that people do not submit their DS160s too quickly until a few days to their interview to ensure that any mistakes made are corrected and all required information is entered to avoid having to submit, retrieve and update new ones several times. You can't retrieve your submitted DS160 form but you can duplicate it and a new DS160 number will be assigned to you which you would need to update on your visa profile page. Visit the DS160 website, select Lagos or Abuja accordingly, enter the captcha code, click on retrieve application, enter your current DS160 number, enter your security questions. It would come up with 2 options: view submission page or so, or load a new application or so. Choose the second option, it would duplicate your current/submitted DS160 for you with all the info in it but with a new DS160 number. Now you can make necessary corrections to your new DS160. Do not forget to update the new DS160 number on your visa profile and reprint your interview appointment page bearing your new DS160 number or else you would be turned back at the embassy for the new DS160 number not matching with the old DS160 number on your initial visa appointment printout.Be sure to update your new DS160 number on your visa appointment profile at least 2 to 3 days in advance to your interview date. |

GraceofGodfollo: Thursday July 5 , 2018.
I left my hotel (same room i stayed for my last interview) at obalende to the embassy at around 5:30.. Got there around 5:45.. I walked confidently to the crowd.. I am sure they will think dis girl na jjc.. She doesnt know things are tough here, but I actually came to mark my third attendance within the past 7months, my first was Dec 5 then Dec 27.. Those are the days I was carrying Cleveland state university's i20 upandown.
It was a short conversation but she stood up twice that made it a lil longer than how it looks in the write-up. CONGRATULATIONS. Enjoy your stay in "TRUMP'S LAND" |
