Kikikikiki Ibo and waya be like.. Ibo that can't even develop their region want to take glory for SW prosperity.. Wonder shall never end sef.. Jonathan himself said it that the SW controls 55% of Nigeria's economy.
Excerpts:
“When Jimoh was talking about World Bank statistics of the poverty rate in regions in the country, he said South West has least in the country. In fact, Lagos and Ogun contributed almost 55 per cent of the economic activities.
http://nationalmirroronline.net/new/i-regret-emergence-of-tambuwal-as-speaker-jonathan/
And he wasn't lying when you consider the indices from Manufacturers Association of Nigeria's last report as follows: The SW virtually controls/accounts for atleast 70% of industrial activity in Nigeria.
http://businessdayonline.com/2015/02/ogun-ikeja-top-manufacturers-investment-destinations-in-2014/
Ogun, Ikeja top manufacturers’ investment destinations in 2014
While Ogun, which is now Nigeria’s industrial hub, recorded N377 billion worth of investments within the period, Ikeja returned investments worth N39.86 billion.
Ogun State’s represents 78 percent of N483 billion worth of investments made in the whole of the manufacturing sector within the period under review, while Ikeja shares 8.3 percent.
“This has revealed that the majority of manufacturing investments were directed towards Ogun industrial axis, which consists of Otta, Agbara, Ibafo/Mowe and Shagamu industrial areas,” said MAN, in its latest January to July 2014 economic review.
....
The data further show investments in Kano/Sharada/Challawa as N19.75 billion and those of Oyo/Ondo/Osun/Ekiti as N19.2 billion within the period under review.
Anambra/Enugu that had N5.5 billion worth of investments. while those of Imo/Abia were estimated at N309 million. |

PRESS RELEASE
BUHARI’S HOMEGROWN SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAMME KICKS OFF IN ANAMBRA
*FG releases over N53m for 1050 primary schools to serve meals to 76, 690 pupils in the State
*More than 3.4m pupils to be fed across total 17 states under 2016 budget
*No fees required to benefit in the Social Investment schemes
In another rollout of one of the Social Investment Programmes of the Buhari administration, the National Homegrown School Feeding scheme has entered implementation stage with the feeding of primary school pupils in Anambra State today.
Last month, the N-Power scheme kicked off with the selection of the first batch of 200,000 unemployed graduates, many of whom are now being deployed in the 36 states/FCT in the first batch of the planned half a million graduates to be engaged in the N-Power Volunteer Corps, NPVC.
Meanwhile, no one should have to pay any fees to benefit in the N-Power or the Homegrown School Feeding programmes, and any such imposition or request for fees is uncalled for and illegal.
Reports of such acts of extortion in some states where beneficiaries are being asked to pay a ‘fee for registration’ have reached the Presidency, and firm instructions have been given that such acts should stop.
Speaking from Awka, Anambra State capital earlier today, the Special Assistant on Homegrown School Feeding Programme in the Office of the Vice President, Mr. Dotun Adebayo said primary school pupils in Anambra were excited as the feeding started in their schools.
Adebayo who led a team of federal and state officials to some of the schools on day one of the Homegrown School Feeding Programme implementation said they witnessed the feeding in three schools in Akwa: Community Primary School, Awka South, Central School Ameobi, and Central School in Nibo.
“The pupils were excited and enjoyed the meals,” he stated, adding that the cooks in those three schools, among the total 774 already recruited and trained for the feeding programme, served ‘Okpa’ a.k.a Moin-moin garnished with vegetables to the delight of the pupils who took the meals during their break time about noonday.
All together in Anambra State, an estimated 76, 690 pupils in 1050 schools would be served every day of school. The feeding programme caters to pupils from primary 1-3.
Having met the stated requirements for Federal Government funding for the Homegrown School Feeding, a sum of N53, 687, 900 had been released directly to cooks for the kick-off of the school feeding programme in Anambra, to last till the end of the current school term.
All the cooks were recruited from communities around the primary schools for the program, verified and trained to provide the catering service in the 21 LGAs in the State.
Generally, the Homegrown School Feeding programme, which is one of the Social Investment plans of the Buhari presidency, is driven through community participation where residents in the community are engaged as cooks to provide feeding services. Also the programme leverages on the agricultural produce available within the communities.
The Homegrown School Feeding programme of the Buhari administration will not only boost school enrollment and improve the nutritional status of the pupils, it would also stimulate local farming, while equally creating jobs including the 774 cooks now in gainful employment in Anambra State.
While the 2016 Budget of Change made provision for funding of the feeding programme in 18 states, a total of 17 States have concluded the designing of the School feeding models through state-level multi-sectorial capacity building workshops, based on FG’s stipulated requirements. Those states will proceed in the planning and would soon get to the implementation stage.
The 17 states are Anambra, Akwa Ibom, Ebonyi, Enugu, Sokoto, Kaduna, Borno, Zamfara, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Benue, Plateau, Taraba, Delta, Abia and Bauchi. Estimated figures from 15 of these states put the numbers of pupils to be feed at over 3.4 million. Go and feed anambra people first before you call other lazy and feed them |

250 graduates establish toothpick factory in OndoPeter Dada
Some youths have established a factory for the production of toothpicks and pencils in Akure, the Ondo State capital, under the sponsorship of the National Directorate of Employment.
The factory, where over 250 graduates are currently working, is said to be the first of its kind in Africa. The idea of local toothpicks production in Nigeria was said to have been conceived by a young graduate who convinced the management of the NDE that the product could be produced with bamboo stems. At the inauguration of the factory in Akure, the Acting Director-General of the NDE, Mr. Kunle Obayan, said the NDE’s sponsorship of the project was part of the agency’s effort towards complementing the micro-economic policies of the Federal Government, aimed at stimulating local production of goods.
He explained that some young graduates approached the agency early this year with the proposal to set up the factory to produce toothpicks, adding that the agency accepted the proposal because it was perceived to be a viable project.
He said, “It is on record that millions of dollars are being spent on the importation of toothpicks and pencils. The Central Bank of Nigeria no longer provides foreign exchange for the importation of toothpicks; therefore, the viability of this project is not in doubt.”
Obayan called on other young graduates with good ideas to bring their proposals to the NDE.
“We are ready to sponsor any good proposal so that our youths will be empowered and unemployment will reduce in this country,” he said.
He explained further that the agency would support the factory from the production point to the marketing of the products to enable the business to survive.
The initiator of the project, Mr. Samuel Babatunde, expressed his gratitude to the NDE for the support given to him and his colleagues to execute the project.
He urged that Federal Government to tackle the problem of power for the business to survive.
He said, “We came to the NDE with the idea of starting a toothpick manufacturing factory. Another set of colleagues also came up with the idea of starting a waste paper, pencil manufacturing factory. The NDE did not shun us, but rather, they encouraged us.
“They provided the funds and moral support and today, we are witnessing history being made here in Akure, Ondo State. Today, the first toothpick manufacturing factory in Africa is being inaugurated.” Cc mynd44 http://punchng.com/250-graduates-establish-toothpick-factory-ondo/ |

huptin: OK no more arguments present your facts and figures and when doing so kindly be civil. While you're at it, also list those Igbo-owned Industries in Lagos and the SW you keep bragging about please.
I guess to your sick mind the following SW based industries are Igbo-owned: Honeywell Flour Mills, GZI Industries, ProForce, Elizade, Bi-Courtney, Eleganza Group, Folawiyo Group, Petro Inett, Modandola Group, Manucom Fishing, Aiico Insurance, the Yoruba-owned banks, Insurance Companies, e.t.c. Even SME's (interestingly, after Lagos state, Oyo has the highest number of SME's in the country, higher than any SE state) we are comfortably in the lead. You know what SME's stand for right? And how many individuals you must employ to qualify as one?) all located in Yorubaland. I am waiting for those Igbo Big Businesses in Lagos and the SW (not 'pure water' ones o) that are more than Yoruba owned ones, and that give you all the ballz to brag.
http://nigerianstat.gov.ng/pdfuploads/SMEDAN%202013_Selected%20Tables.pdf
Also kindly List the number of Insurance companies players that are Igbo-owned dominating Yorubaland or Nigeria in general.
How many Igbo-owned investments comes close to LADOL in Lagos?
List the Banks that Igbos dominate that are more than the Yoruba-dominated/controlled Skye Bank, First Bank, Sterling Bank, GTBank, FCMB, e.t.c.
List the Telecoms Company that are Igbo-owned/dominated like Yoruba-owned/controlled Globacom and NTel
List the I.T businesses that are Igbo dominated that can stand the likes of Spectranet, CCHub, MainOne
Which Igbo-owned businesses can match the dominance of Yoruba-controlled Oando, ConOil, and Forte Oil?
The only Transport segment Igbos dominate is that of buses that convey their kinsmen between YOrubaland and the SE. Yorubas control the SW internal routes, e.g. When I take a bus from Lagos to Abeokuta or Ibadan, 9 out of 10 times the owner of the Bus is a Yorubaman and not an Igboman, so get your facts straight.
In a nutshell, Yorubas already dominate the Big Businesses and industries that count, e.g Finance, Oil & Gas, I.T, Telecoms, Insurance, Manufacturing & Industry, e.t.c. It would be unfair of us to dominate everything so we've left them the crumbs like dominating the Super-Eagles, Gala Hawking , spare-parts bizness, Selling DVD/VCD at Alaba, Entertainment (though Yorubas dominate the Music scene, while we comfortably have our indigeneous Film industry on lockdown as well ), transporting your kinsmen to-and-from the SE to Yorubaland, e.t.c. Your people can keep dominating those. But even Commerce/trading sef una don dey dump that one sef for drug-trafficking.

huptin: If the Igbo's withdraw from the west? I can't say for sure that the economy of the west will collapse or not, but I know that before the economy of the west collapses the whole of the eastern economy would have been in total disarray, while Igbo's are major players in the economy of Lagos no doubt but they are not the only players, the economy will shrink surely but as for the Igbo's who withdraw it will be instant starvation and economic asphyxiation. Simple. Can you prove the bolded with facts, figures? I disagree and I have my facts to do so. |

BornStunner1: Gov. Ekezie Ikpeazu of Abia has said that if there is any group of people in Nigeria, in need of peace, it is the Igbos, who are found in all parts of the country doing business. Ikpeazu made the remark when he received the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai, who paid him a courtesy call.
“If Nigeria is perpetually in trouble, it will not augur well for the Igbos, who are republican and found every where in the country,” the governor said. According to Ikpeazu, Igbos are desperate for peace in Nigeria. He said the people of the state would continue to support President Muhammadu Buhari in his efforts to move the nation forward. The governor, who donated two Hilux vehicles to support the army operation in the state, commended the military for degrading and decimating the Boko Haram terrorists in the North East. He also commended the army for curbing violent crimes in the state, as well as pipeline vandalism. Earlier, Buratai informed the governor of the ongoing “Exercise Python Dance” in the South East, explaining that it was meant to train troops on internal security. He further explained the exercise in addition to other exercises and operations going on across the nation were aimed ensuring security, safety and peace for the unity of the country to enable the citizenry go about their lawful businesses.
