Exxa, you have been quite helpful in this thread, very helpful. God has indeed just started greater things for u. Kindly always ignore negative comments or perceptions of you, they don't matter at all in you becoming who you want to be. Just be sure that you are not weary in doing good; it pays.


I wish I applied for the UK scheme though; I would have preferred UK for personal reasons, but I'm grateful God gave me France instead.

well even if you did, as long as u made the fgc list, your name won't appear on the UK list. same thing applies to me. let just hope Ptdf will be flexible like last year and 2 years back. maybe we could change

All of these are Awards but not actually what they requested for. They asked for National/International Awards.

sorry, all I presented was previous scholarship award and I was scored, and I have been contacted for FGC. even during the UK interview, that was all I presented and I remember I was scored on that too. so ask again

I'm a PhD applicant and was a PTDF scholar, I haven't bn contacted but I'm very hopeful. I think we need to be patient, I applied to both the FGC and UK schemes.
I can tell you AUTHORITATIVELY that the marking scheme for PhD applicants posted on this forum is wrong, at least its not what was on the table while I was being interviewed. I remember that qualification (Bachelors plus Masters) was a max of 30 marks.
If you think you did well and you haven't bn contacted, remain hopeful..

your profile is great and there is high hope and I pray you get it. but I feel you need to try on the publication cause it could be difference between you and the next person from your state who also has First Class and distinction, and maybe fewer awards but with 2 or 3 publication. just my thoughts though

please can any PhD candidate who did his or her interview in Abuja center tell us how many minutes was allocated for presentation and did he or she submitted an employment letter?

from last year's thread, I observed that those nominated for China were required to fill an online form before going to Abuja for interview. most were contacted in the last week of April. how come this year documentation has already been done according to someone and nobody so far has indicated they receive a text or know someone who did? anyway this is Naija sha, anything is possible. please for PG applicant, don't forget to also apply for PTDF, it even far better than this bea.

I recently just underwent my masters thesis defense successfully, so am technically through with my Msc. but my certificate/statement won't be ready until after 2 month, say by March or April. although I have a statement showing my Msc progress work and course work result sheet. can't I apply for a PHD?

I don't think there is an Abuja center for this test. I am much closer to Abuja than Lagos.

I hope this Bea scholarship Is not going to extinction. quite disappointed with the authorities on this. this is how Nigerian students get stranded abroad.

What is clear now is that the longer you stay without a love letter, shows how close you were. may guys who will get the progress mail are robots anyway.

The reservoir and petrophysics jobs are even for first class students, and there are positions shell would prefer masters and Ph.d for i.e research and development. for those complaining of "love letters", next time, get familiar with shell employees, you can check through profiles on linkedin to be sure what positions will fit. Never make guesses in your assessment. For the personality test, never choose the options between, in you videos, put up a smile, gain some technical skills and highlight it on your CV. If you are not a first class student that can be referred by choice universities i.e uniben, uniport make sure you have great aptitude and technical skills.

This is for those who scaled through the robotic assessment i.e. those who did not receive regret mail after 4 days from d day they completed stage one assessment.

Guys are now receiving regret mail. Make no mistake. Only one stage left to Shell. I am expecting my regret mail soon. My freind was just served possibly due to less than 2013. Hoping my masters degree within d year will suffice.
