bro we aren't here to fight but to enlighten each other , so don't make it look like we are fighting. well u can do urs for 15k buy I did mine for 1k and it was accepted in Canada, UK and Azerbaijan . the fact that u are right doesn't make the other person wrong and I gave instance with the police report thing
Neither am I fighting with you.....
Stated it from your point of view and I'm just asking general legal and ethics questions.... That doesn't take away from the authenticity as you've stated it....

I am not a fountain of knowledge.
I made my comments based on my own experiences of six years of learning and 2 years of practice.

Sorry if it seemed like I was fighting.

What is written in the document particularly at the attestation part?

Before me

............................................

Commissioner for Oaths

OR

BEFORE ME

.................................................

NOTARY PUBLIC

If it is the earlier one...then that's not a notary public.

In any event....It is possible that Lagos State Judiciary has a notary public department, buh it is not so in most states in Nigeria, even in the FCT.

Notary public are purely lawyers and they are usually not attached to any court whatsoever. Infact one of the requirement of being a Notary public is certificate of registration of business name. Therefore, this implies that they're not to be under the employment of any Government agency or parastatal. They're usually private legal practitioners. Commissioner for oaths on the other hand are usually court clerks saddled with the responsibility of swearing people on oath to ensure the information provided are valid and true.
Thanks for the info on requirements for notary public.... Is the High court not a govt parastatal? When people start having issues, you complain.. whether or not it is in the high Court doesn't matter.... Enough private person businesses within high courts in various states.... But as you're doing it at 1k carry on

are u saying this base on experience or what? if u want to use a private law firm that I can't attest to buy there's a notary public department in ikeja high court and u can do it there, I have done more than 10 documents there so I KNOW WHAT AM SAYING. just the way people pay up to 15k to get police report and some (including me) pay just 3k to get same police report that's how it is with this
Based on experiencehuh I'm a Lawyer sir, but if you say you are notarizing docs at 1k I hear you sir.... Sorry for stating what I know... Enjoy....

mcobex:
it shouldn't cost u much to notarize depending where u are doing it. if u are in lagos and on the mainland I will advice u go to high court in ikeja and u should be able to do sit for as low as 1k upwards((depending on ur bargaining power)
Bro please do not confuse people, swearing an affidavit is different from notarizing. Notarizing is done by people who are notary public and can cost as much as 15k per document.....

Affidavit is possible to get at 350 sef since the oath fee is just 50# and all you have to do is pay the typist.

But don't confuse affidavit for notarizing.

Thanks

Guys please has anyone been admitted to University of Manitoba University 1 programmehuh How is it like and whats the total cost for it before transferring to Year 2huh?Can one work with effect after resumption to raise fees....Please reply GOD bless
.
I was not admitted to Manitoba, but I had to say something because people seem to think when you work you can save for school fees. It is very hard to save enough for fees. For example let's say u earn 10.75$ an hour in Manitoba and u work 20 hours a week, that's roughly some 800-900$ a month, let's say u have your housing situation being paid for from home, there is still the need to consider food, consider Utilities and some other minor expenses, and for those who aren't being sorted 10k cad honestly an average of 300-700$ per month on rent, what is left to save huh? It's pretty much difficult. Cos most people tend to find out that u end up changing half your wardrobe when you get there due to differences in weather conditions.... Basically though it's an almost impossible situation. Except you will cut down on a lot of things which is highly improbable.

Hello nairalanders, I'm new here and this is my first post. I'm quite intrigued by the level of information here. I have learnt a lot. I want to apply for my study permit and I would like to have answers to some questions.
1) can fixed deposits account be used as the sole source of fund?
2) does it also have to be a 6 month print out.
1. The maturity date of your fixed deposit matters. If the date is before your resumption, it may fly, but it is also risky making use of an investment certificate alone. My advice is to find another account with some good balance and a noticeable source of income.

2. Some say 4 some say 6 some have printed a year. My advice is to stick to the 6 months......

Please how can I shrink my PDF documents and still get high quality documents.
I am applying online. Thank you
Document Scanning Tip
To get very high quality scans at a low file size, scan your document directly into the .tif or .tiff format at 300dpi color (don't convert another format to .tif/tiff, scan directly to .tif/.tiff), then use Adobe Acrobat Pro to convert it to PDF, and then finally distill the document. To distill, first convert the PDF to postscript [.ps], and then open the .ps file using Adobe Distiller; Distiller will ask you for the distill quality, choose the “Standard” option. The final PDF file size will shrink considerably but the quality will be super high!

I have a very good travel history
Now I wanna do a 2 year diploma program in fashion arts and business
1)Please is my course related to my present work
While on the face of it, they're both fashion, my only questions are:
1. how does the diploma advance you in any manner or form?

2. While showing how it advances u and your business, why will you spend so much to take the course if it not possible in Nigeria. (If it isn't, state it, if it is explain why you're spending so much)

But some banks are still claiming that they don't have dollars. Consequently, CBN is sternly looking at recent actions of the related Banks as potential economic sabotage. CBN has asked Nigerians that anyone who has submitted application through any Bank branch and if within 24 hrs does not get allocation for PTA or BTA and 48hrs for Medical and Tuition pls contact CBN Consumer Protection Department through the details below providing name of Bank and branch..

guys HELP!!! sad traveled to south Africa once and to UAE five times.

@justwise @michV @osemigho gurus! help a sister out.
Good Afternoon,

By various messages dropped on here, I believe we all have agreed that purpose of visit as a refusal reason is not as damning as whatever other reason accompanies it.

Now your undergrad course and your current work experience are either of them related to your course that you applied for?

Then is that course a progression on the face of it t whatever it is you already have at hand?

With your undergrad and work experience it may be difficult to explain how it is a progression to your academic or professional pursuits. Except you have a carefully worded and detailed SOP that does that for you.

For me I'd advice you get a masters course that is either related to your undergrad course of study or if you have work experience in a bank, a course that is closely related and will give u an edge over others, carefully remembering to state why u chose that uni and why u have chosen the canada as a destination instead of studying here in Nigeria.( the last part about stating why, should be in your SOP. ALL the best

1. Purpose of visit
2. Travel history

House kindly shed more light on this

Hello good people. I have been reading in the background lately, the numerous educative posts on this thread. I commend the great work you guys are doing here.
I need someone to kindly attend to my question.

In a case where a prospective student tells the VO that he has no intention of returning to the home country after graduation, what could be the possible outcomes of the interview?

BTW a news from NYT today: wehttps://mobile.nytimes.com/2017/01/26/world/canada/international-students-canadian-citizenship.html?smid=fb-nytimes&smtyp=cur&_r=0&referer=http://m.facebook.com/
I believe outrightly telling a VO that you have no intention of coming back to your home country whole applying for a temporary visa guarantees your rejection, especially when coming under the student permit route. Don't get me wrong, they also know that more than half of those who are able to gain the visa would probably not return to their home country, bit starting outrightly on your application most probably guarantees you refusal. My opinion though I may be wrong.

Thank you 4 all ur contributions on this thread. Pls with a Bsc marketing (4.40) n a diploma / prof certificate in HR (CIPM), can TRV favour me if am going 4 masters in HR?
so sorry for the earlier post if you have read it, i dont know why i kept on going back to accounting in my head and answering based on that since there is a relationship between marketing and HR, you may apply, but then whether or not it is a progression is what i do not know,so i can not advise based on that... majorly it is a relationship between the previous degree and the aspiring degree they need or in place of the relationship, a superbly worded SOP that gives the VO a vivid and undersandable reason as to the change of interest.....

all the very best...

please note i may be wrong, as i am also learning on here everyday, been reading from part 7

Austinpee4:
From the context @Eraytee made his submissions, he had a good point. The moniker had Bsc already and without stating his/her previous program as a pre-requisite to achieving the intended, It is NOT an academic progression.
Whereas, he may have a valid reasons for going for a second Bsc and can convience the VO owing to prior activities(work, study, certifications etc) in the area that may warrant such change, it still isn't a progression as no degree at the same level is higher than the other. Each is relevant for the purpose it exist for.
With the examples you gave, it may be but concerning the subject(Context) matter, there is no academic progression.
agreed.
but then if in the example i gave you agree that it may be a progression, then saying having one B.Sc and going for another is NOT a progression is also not totally correct...... Progression is seen by different ways.... I have a problem with the 'NOT' of it all...

thanks either ways, i stand corrected nobody knows it all.........

Please I'm new to this platform but my friend was greatly helped and I hope I will be favoured too...I want to apply for graduate studies in Canada and I need guidelines and the schools to apply too
Thank you
honestly you may not be able to get as much help as you require because the burden of application for schools should fall squarely on your shoulders, no one will tell you what schools to apply to, and you are the one that knows what course you studied and that is what you will definitely use to apply, all in all what course are you applying for and when you know the course you can just google the course+ canadian universities, atleast start your journey from there, but on this thread people tend to jump requests that are not detailed or requests that can easily be done by the poster with just a little work.

all the best.

Let me say, its divorce but you know all those old days divorce doesnt have any paper backing(They just separate from each other), so i dont want to mention divorce.

just that the sometimes , she still uses the husband surname ans sometimes she uses her own name.

Do you get.

Thanks
Bro it isn't divorce, as any documents you'll be submitting will be determined ad being official, if there is no official backing ie by court judgment for the divorce of your parents, as far as the law is concerned they are married and she shouldn't ordinarily make use of her surname. If it was granted by a court of law the separation then she can attach the document granting judicial separation and she'll be fine, without all these legal backing documents, I still maintain the swearing to an affidavit, but she cannot mention that she is divorced cos she isn't divorced y la, she and the husband are still married and any marriage after that is void.

Eraytee:
firstly whats the B.sc you had prior to this admission according to d boded

1. I cant see any progression in ur academic history, having gotten a b.sc before and going for another one now after yrs of graduating would raise some red flag in the eyes of the VO, you need to positively convince the VO as per the reason for another b.sc, else you risk ur app of d popular excuse of 'pupose of visit'
2. its never too early to apply for study permit against fall 2017 bearing in mind the long processing time of 16weeks thereabout.
3. you need to go through the thread from page one to see highlights of the documents that would help ur app.

Am not a guru but the above stated are just my opinion about your post.
I would like to disagree that there is no academic progression, it all depends on the course that you are going for in my opinion, courses like law and medicine are courses that are usually advised to be done as second degrees therefore someone with a criminology undergrad going for law undergrad is a progression, please be certain of the qualifications before stating that there is no academic progression, as long as your second undergrad is a professional course and the previous one is somehow, somewhere related it may be seen as a progression
