Hello,

You can check this site (www.usnews.com) to search for your desired schools and ranking and check these sites (http://graddecision.org/ and www.msinus.com) to learn more about choosing a graduate school and the application process.

You SHOULD consider writing GRE if you are interested in applying to schools in the US. This will also boost your chances of getting a scholarship or funding.

However, you can check this link for list of some schools that doesn't require GRE.

Best regards.
Oh saw this after my post.... Please disregard my earlier post...

Appreciate, yea but i did my degree in benin republic (french country) hope it won't be an issue?
That may be an issue except you were taught in English and can give proof of same, eg, submitting a letter to that effect, or if your French is very good, u may check out schools in the French speaking part of Canada, they may not be too predisposed to requesting proof of English proficiency(not too sure about this though) all in all mail your grad cord in the school and make your request known

Who knows of any uni that is relatively affordable and the admission is still open for September? Urgently pls. Plus without Toefl
Majority of schools would have closed applications for fall session, your best bet is to look at winter of 2018... God help us all... And most schools would definitely waive English test if you tell them u schooled in Nigeria and can show proof.... All the best

I understand but I've tried searching online but it's actually not the result as i want. Then i narrowed down to remove the toefl. Yet. Twas all because of the urgency, don't wanna look unserious to my parents. Need to leave dis year. He's ready to sponsor but it seems I'm not ready to leave. PS: ANY OTHER COOL COUNTRY FOR STUDY AND WORK WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
Germany is cool, Australia is also cool(if you have the funds)

Where are the people saying I cannot apply from Cameroun? Congrats bro!! I am still waiting for my official approval admission by the school of graduate studies. Academic Unit already approved admission and full funding $20,000 each year for two years. Graduate studies department takes 2-4 weeks to approve. The wait has been painful. It would certainly mean I cannot apply in Nigeria due to back log.
Bro calm down before jumping to conclusions, he has a valid study permit for Rwanda. Ask first before all that

Hello everybody. I am new here.
Can anybody please recommend a cheap university in Canada, that doesn't require TOEFL or SAT, that i can apply to??...
please a reply is needed urgently..
Honestly you might not get any answers cos you are expected to have done some research on your own and then people could help you to filter down the list.... Please just input your question straight into Google and start from there, furthermore is it graduate or undergraduatehuh

Hi NL's has anyone who submitted their paper application has even been able to use the VFS online tracking application to get the status of their application after it has been processed?

Coz even my last online application that was delayed in march was still showing application being proceSsed at our Lagos office and I re submitted on April 19 I have not had any luck updating or linking online and haven't received any info from CIC OR VFS. Anyone with an advice of what I can do or who can assist with linking my application I have tried all writer steps here, I probably might be missing something coz those who have succesfuly linked theirs says it's pretty much simple
Bro/sis good morning

While I understand your fears and all, I know they have been doing maintenance on the site, trying to add some features, I can't say if that exercise has been concluded, it may stand S the cause of a few glitches, just exercise patience..,..

Hello boss. I agree completely with you on your post. You have a very good point. I didn't know my response will make you feel bad. Am Sorry.
No hard feelings sir, I only responded cos the post said something about if not having a 2:1 go for a PGD/PGC.
I know it if difficult, but it is possible to get admission with a 2:2 that Meets up with the requirements for masters.....

I'm sorry about my reaction, want really in a good place yesterday....

Met you here on this thread....

God's favour in us all

Oga, please give your accurate opinion here and don't make reference to my post. I said 'majority' of schools. On average, you still need a 2.1 to have a good chance.
Sorry I tried to state what is obtainable.... I'm not taking anything away from you.... What's d point in giving information if it will mislead....

Anyway sorry I said anything in your post. Since you know it all.

I'll just keep watching on the thread.... Since I can't add anything useful.

Goodluck to all, in every endeavor....

Good bless.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by tysaxmalomo: 10:26pm On Jun 12, 2017
AAOL:
Please follow the steps below:

1. Google www.university study.ca to filter your a list of schools that offer your intended programs. Please note that majority of Canadian university accept minimum of 2.1 CGPA equivalent.

2. If you don't meet the CGPA requirement, you can choose to go for a post graduate diploma course offered in the universities or colleges

3. For the English requirement, you don't need any form of english test for admission into most schools so far your course was taught in English language.

4. Read through the pages on this thread to get more information about seeking admission and applying for visa.

All the best
Please give accurate info please.... Yes they say on the websites majorly 2:1 but most schools also state that if you have a b in the last 60 credits of your undergrad which is almost similar to the last 2 years of your academic pursuit.

He may have a 2:2 and his last 2 years will be good enough... Please if you have a high 2:2 a minimum of a 3.3 / 5 please you may try and be lucky...

Good luck to all applicants.

You can ask the grad cord of your programme to help u assess your credentials and also tell if you should apply. With your credentials.

pls what is a 3.8 on a 5point scale to a 4point
Your 3.8 might end up in the region of 3.29-3.35. I dropped the website for an unofficial evaluation. If you have your transcript with you, then you can easily calculate and get a rough estimate.

All the best

2.89
Hmmmn
Use Wes gpa calculator on the Wes website to get a rough idea of what your gpa will be.

I doubt if that will be up to 3.0/4.0....

Try and calculate it tho, if it's not up to the minimum requirements, you might have to go for either a pre masters or if it's not available for the course you r aiming for, then you might have to go for a PGD/PGC....

All the best.

Koval12:
Thanks a million. I am so grateful. I actually graduated with 2:2. Does that mean that I will have to settle for PGD?
The 2:2 sometimes may not matter if your cgpa meets their requirements you may be lucky enough to get what you want. But honestly your cgpa has to be atleast a 3.3 to meet the 3.0/4 Canadian schools require.... Up to you. You can as well mail the programme coordinator of your intended programme and request for an unofficial evaluation, they MAY help.

Depends, all in all please do your research well.

All d best

that's my problem. I need someone to assist me with information here on nairaland. the threads and comments are much and digging for information can be tiring. Can you be of any assistance?
Bro honestly you'd have to do bulk of the work for yourself, you want to apply to a Canadian University for a 1-2 years gruelling programme, the least you can do is to make sure you get all you need from the opportunity... I can't be expected to do the research on your behalf.... Id advise u start with Google. Just google Canadian universities for masters In your choice course and take it from there..... If you are stuck you can come back to ask questions and I'd be happy to help whenever I can..... But you have to make the first move.

All the best

Am a graduate with BSc certificate who intend leaving Nigeria to further my education and as well secure a work permit (Canada or Australia my preferred choice). I recently got in touch with this traveling agent, who promised to assist me in my applications and as well securing a student Visa in either Canada or Australia. The problem here is that the agent is demanding a total sum of 2.5m to assist me with my Visa application. Am totally confused at the moment with regards to the authenticity of these agents. Is it advisable for me to make the financial commitment? He's already requesting for my information like TRANSCRIPT to kick start my visa application and necessary documentation. Please help a friend! Nairaland has always been there for me. I need your sincere advice here as am stuck. Thanks...
My 2 cents, don't waste your funds. Just read from part 9 or thereabouts. You'll definitely have everything you need to apply for both schools and your visa. 2.5 mill is almost the amount you need for living and feeding expenses. Biko don't waste money o.

Quick question, is it possible for no update to be given as to upfront medicals 6 weeks into an application. Not the whole application itself, just nothing as regards the medicals. Radio silence...

I am new on this thread and appreciate the good work you are doing. I have an admission to study Master of Management at the University of Windsor. The program duration is 16 months and the tuition is 32,000 CAD. I have about 10 years work experience and will fund my studies. Even though the tuition is high, I opted for it because it does not require GMAT like most Management courses in Canada. When applying for study permit, will I be expected to show proof of fund for the whole tuition or part?
seeing as you are self sponsored, there might be a need to show enough funds for your 2 year programme and the living expenses. if you were to hsow a letter stating that you would continue to receive your salary even after going for studies, it MIGHT make the requirements a little more lenient, without that every single C$ has to be accounted for as a self sponsor

Please a quick question, can I present two different statement of accounts, am sponsoring myself and my total fees plus living expense is about 8M naira.I have 4M in one account and 4M which was recently transferred into my other account. Please respond.
yes you can, u can even produce 10 as long as the funds can be ascertained, you're good. to be on the safe side though make sure the recent transfer of 4 Million is well described by whoever sent it as being in fulfillment of whatever pledge to your educational desires as stated in the sponsorship letter, (i'm assuming its a co-sponsor).

On the other hand if it is not from a co sponsor then please make sure that the source of the transfer can be well proved and do same.

all the best.
