@poster- Can you elaborate? You just dropped a few line, we don't even know much about ur relationship status. |
Why am i on this thread? I don't watch Naija movie On the side note; Fstranger3 and Ezeuche are the most bigoted Nls, even though both of them are my brothers. |
Me think Gaddafi was on crack when he went on air yestarday. Why else would a leader call his people "raoches & rats" and threaten to kill them all who opposes him. My biggest dissapointent of all is Saif al-islam ranting on Libyain state tv, he was clueless and seems to rabbling over and over. This was a guy who the west thought was a reformist, a guy who was well educated, he attended and graduated from the prestigius London school of Economics. |
Let us not forget that, Gaddafi is the longest serving despot in history of the arab world, if not in the whole world. The revolution that is sweeping across the arab world will continue until all the it's people are free. |
I 'm not suprised by what is going on in Libya, what do you expect from a despot like Gaddafi who has rule the country like his personal fiefdom for more than 4 decade. Gaddafi is a bloody dictator who is bent to hang on to power by any means possible, even it means killing half of his people. He was also grooming his son Seif al - islam to take over from, like most arab despot does. Sending war planes to bomb peaceful protesters is the most dispicable of of crime any leader can commit against his people, and this shows he is completely losing it. |
@Ezeuche- my half broda, kedu? Odikwa mma? ![]() |
Absolutely Interesting. Can't wait for the rest of the story. |
For those of you playing the tribal card, must you turn all thread into tribal war? Cut the crap! Yoruba this, Yoruba that. Listen to yourselves and see how 'ur comments reeks of idiocy.Wtf! |

@Ezeuche - I think fstranger3 is right. I have visited the link he gave me and i have all the reason to believe that you 're the no 1 tribal bigot on Nl. Having said that, i 've come across some of your post and i must honestly tell you that some of it makes sense and i appreciate you. But i implore you to pls stop your bigoted comment about the yoruba people, cos i 'm half yoruba and half igbo. Dalu nu, Ndewo nu, unu ji sie ike na ulo, onye nwere unu nwere nmadu. |

@M_J_ Blige- Did you even took your time to read the subject matter? I 'm begining to wonder why you always respond in a psychotic haste. You want to compare what this young man went through with the fella in the US. As a matter of fact the guy in the US wasn't dehumanise like that of his counterpart in Nigeria and at end of the day, he will seek redress for wrongful imprisonment in a civil court and he 'll be well compensated. But for the dude in 9ja, that wouldn't be the case, as we all know. |
What is there to stay in 9ja for? Is it because the useless govt can provide it's citizens with basic ammenities which are your right in the first place? Can the govt grant you safety and security? The whole system is bleeped up, nothing seems right, nothing works, it's a hell hole. Even if you manage to make it, you can have rest of mind, because of fear of being kidnapped or robbed. So if one has the opportunity why wouldn't you go live the good life. |
@op - If you do try it, i bet you 'll forever regret it, both of you offcourse. You 'll also lose the respect she have for you. I 'm telling you this out of expirience. |

You peeps should take it easy with the young lady Ma_J_Blige. Why all the insult and hatred, this is so dispicable and getting out of hand. |
@alj harem - what is the laugh about? Are you an Aboki or kwulikwuli? |
@namfav- which tribe do you belongs to? Sorry just asking. cos you seems to be jealous of the igbo culture. |
@Ma_J_Blige, Loveking and other peeps - You guys should take it easy and tone down your rhetorics. This is just a forum to exchange your opinions and ideas, not insult and treats. I beg you people in the name of God, lets be apply some level of civility. |
@Ogaga4Luv - Are you for Real? It seems to me you are taking this your Joke too serious. |
What a sensless waist of innocent soul. May their soul rest peace. The incident should be investigated and those responsible should be brought to book. |
By Stephanie Nebehay – Fri Feb 11, 7:03 am ET GENEVA (Reuters) – Alcohol causes nearly 4 percent of deaths worldwide, more than AIDS, tuberculosis or violence, the World Health Organization warned on Friday. Rising incomes have triggered more drinking in heavily populated countries in Africa and Asia, including India and South Africa, and binge drinking is a problem in many developed countries, the United Nations agency said. Yet alcohol control policies are weak and remain a low priority for most governments despite drinking's heavy toll on society from road accidents, violence, disease, child neglect and job absenteeism, it said. Approximately 2.5 million people die each year from alcohol related causes, the WHO said in its "Global Status Report on Alcohol and Health." "The harmful use of alcohol is especially fatal for younger age groups and alcohol is the world's leading risk factor for death among males aged 15-59," the report found. In Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), every fifth death is due to harmful drinking, the highest rate. Binge drinking, which often leads to risky behavior, is now prevalent in Brazil, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Russia, South Africa and Ukraine, and rising elsewhere, according to the WHO. "Worldwide, about 11 percent of drinkers have weekly heavy episodic drinking occasions, with men outnumbering women by four to one. Men consistently engage in hazardous drinking at much higher levels than women in all regions," the report said. Health ministers from the WHO's 193 member states agreed last May to try to curb binge drinking and other growing forms of excessive alcohol use through higher taxes on alcoholic drinks and tighter marketing restrictions. DISEASE AND INJURY Alcohol is a causal factor in 60 types of diseases and injuries, according to WHO's first report on alcohol since 2004. Its consumption has been linked to cirrhosis of the liver, epilepsy, poisonings, road traffic accidents, violence, and several types of cancer, including cancers of the colorectum, breast, larynx and liver. "Six or seven years ago we didn't have strong evidence of a causal relationship between drinking and breast cancer. Now we do," Vladimir Poznyak, head of WHO's substance abuse unit who coordinated the report, told Reuters. Alcohol consumption rates vary greatly, from high levels in developed countries, to the lowest in North Africa, sub-Saharan Africa, and southern Asia, whose large Muslim populations often abstain from drinking. Homemade or illegally produced alcohol -- falling outside governmental controls and tax nets -- accounts for nearly 30 percent of total worldwide adult consumption. Some is toxic. In France and other European countries with high levels of adult per capita consumption, heavy episodic drinking is rather low, suggesting more regular but moderate drinking patterns. Light to moderate drinking can have a beneficial impact on heart disease and stroke, according to the WHO. "However, the beneficial cardio-protective effect of drinking disappears with heavy drinking occasions," it said. One of the most effective ways to curb drinking, especially among young people, is to raise taxes, the report said. Setting age limits for buying and consuming alcohol, and regulating alcohol levels in drivers, also reduce abuse if enforced. Some countries restrict marketing of alcoholic beverages or on the industry's sponsorship of sporting events. "Yet not enough countries use these and other effective policy options to prevent death, disease and injury attributable to alcohol consumption," the WHO said. Alcohol producers including Diageo and Anheuser Busch InBev have said they recognize the importance of industry self-regulation to address alcohol abuse and promote curbs on drunk drinking and illegal underage drinking. But the brewer SABMiller has warned that policy measures like minimum pricing and high excise taxes on alcohol could cause more public health harm than good by leading more people to drink homemade or illegally produced alcohol. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20110211/hl_nm/us_alcohol |
