Jimmy Boy:
I was in ondo state last week and was oppotuned to see the balance sheet of a bank branch located at Ile-Oluji. I was shocked to find out that the balance sheet size was larger than size of other branches of the same bank located on Victoria Island. So I started acting questions, the mainstay of this branch is cocoa buz, also learnt that u will recoup your investment in the first year of planating your cocoa by the time you harvest plantain which is usually planted to creat shade for the cocoa at nursery stage. I was told most of the boys doing the business are all riding SUVs. I am working on how to start my plantation.
@Jimmy Boy, if really you want to start your own plantation i encourage you to go into it, you will not regret it, this i can assure you. But you have to be patient, because cocoa biz in seasonal. They have a new breed cocoa that takes three years ability to grow and produce fruits.

Also if you don't have the capital to start you can as well contact multi-trex, they have a scheme they call (Multi-Trex Young Cocoa Enterprises Farmers) they help young graduate with loan to start up cocoa plantation.

The government is not giving adequate attention to agriculture in the country. Where we are now is not where we should be. Agriculture must be taken as chief revenue earner, while oil should be the supplement.

Before oil was discovered, agricultural commodities were given prime of place, but when we discovered oil, government threw agriculture to the back door. Agriculture must be brought back, government must support agriculture production and we must change our present mindset of exporting cocoa beans to processing cocoa plants like Multi-Trex is doing.

PoliticsRapture: Harold Camping Issues New Apocalypse Date by tyson55(op): 4:38pm On May 24, 2011
The evangelical broadcaster who left followers crestfallen by his failed prediction that last Saturday would be Judgement Day says he miscalculated.

Harold Camping said it had "dawned" on him that God would spare humanity "hell on Earth for five months" and the apocalypse would happen on 21 October.

Mr Camping said he felt "terrible" about his mistake.

But he said he could not give financial advice to those who spent their life savings in the belief the end was nigh.

Mr Camping had predicted that on 21 May, true believers would be swept up to heaven while a giant earthquake would bring destruction for those left behind.

His independent ministry, Family Radio International, spent millions of dollars on broadcasts, billboards and campaign vehicles to publicise the prediction.

Some followers donated their life savings or simply gave away their worldly possessions as the day approached.

The predicted doomsday was publicised worldwide
Many expressed bewilderment and shock as the day came and went with no sign of the global cataclysm.

"I've been mocked and scoffed and cursed at," said Jeff Hopkins, a retired TV producer in New York state who spent some of his savings customising his car to showcase Mr Camping's warning.

"It's like getting slapped in the face."

'Not accurate'

Mr Camping had not been seen since Saturday until he appeared on a show on his Open Forum radio show, broadcast from Oakland, California, on Monday to give a 90-minute sometimes rambling presentation that included a question-and-answer session with reporters.

He said that when his prediction had failed to materialise he felt so terrible that he took refuge in a motel with his wife.

He said sorry for not having the dates "worked out as accurately as I could have".

Over the weekend, he said, he had returned to the scripture and it had "dawned" on him that a "merciful and compassionate God" would spare humanity by compressing the apocalyptic destruction into a shorter time frame.

But he insisted 21 October had always been the end-point of his own chronology - or at least his own latest chronology, as a previous prophecy that the apocalypse would strike in 1994 also failed to come to pass.

Asked if he had any advice to offer those who had given away their material wealth in the belief the world was about to end, Mr Camping said they would cope.

"We just had a great recession. There's lots of people who lost their jobs, lots of people who lost their houses, and somehow they all survived," he said.

"We're not in the business of giving any financial advice," he added.

"We're in the business of telling people maybe there is someone you can talk to, and that's God."

@white007 - just to water down your curiosity about the book "the satanic verses" among other things, it consist of a frame narrative using elements of magical realism, interlaced with a series of sub-plots that are narrated as dream visions experienced by one of the protagonists. In which the prophet mohamed first proclaims a revelation in favor of the old polytheistic deities, but later renounces this as an error induced by satan. The book also talks about 2 opponents of the messenger: a demonic heathen priestess, and an irreverent skeptic and satirical poet, Baal. But i recomend you read the book to understand it better.

PoliticsRe: Why Can't Igbos Withdraw From The Enemy Territory? by tyson55(m): 11:48pm On Apr 21, 2011
@coldhearts- Talking about toning down, i think your response to the dude was polite. Knowing how Nl's can throw insults on trival issues. So come to our subject matter, what you saying in essence is that, we should continue to live together in the entity called Nigeria whether good or bad? But for how long can we remain as a union in the face of deep mistrust and intolerance between the north and south? I bet you, this is not the last we would see of this dispecable and sensless killing from the north.

@iwonbaoko- If the south should split from the north, and be on it's own, i don't forsee any thing like we are going through now. It will be the best brain that will be chosen to lead the country. So, your insinuation of one side stepping down for the other is ethnocentric idealogy which will not be tolarated in our New Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Why Can't Igbos Withdraw From The Enemy Territory? by tyson55(m): 10:40pm On Apr 21, 2011
@coldhearts- Yeah it's about development and a system that works within the entity called Nigeria. So, what do you suggest? Cos all i 'm a saying is, that the SW and SE are compactible with each other, no matter their differences, both are progressive in nature, educated, open to change and secular, but it's not the case with the people up north.
PoliticsRe: Why Can't Igbos Withdraw From The Enemy Territory? by tyson55(m): 10:26pm On Apr 21, 2011
I think the SE and SW can live in harmony, irrespective of any differences they may harbor among themselves. A classic example is my parents who have been happily married for about 40years and going.

Foreign AffairsRe: Breaking News: Gbagbo Arrested. by tyson55(m): 10:23am On Apr 13, 2011
To all those who knows little or nothing about the conflict in the Ivory coast. Gbagbo won controversial election in 2000. He used violence to get into power. That violent killed Gen. Guei. Gbagbo invited the UN into ivory coast to support him. Gbagbo invoked Ivory coast's defense pact with France which led to the deployment of french troops to IC. The French prevented his government from being toppled in 2002. No Ivorian can rule Ivory coast without french support because IC'S economy depends on france. The french also protected Gbagbo when he was in exile in france. The UN gave him extra 5years mandate to rule IC after 2005. Gbagbo & Ouattara signed an agreement that the UN would certify the result of the election & not the constitutional court of IC whose judges were appointed by Gbagbo. Gbagbo rejected all proposal made to him by AU peace mediator. Ecowas would 've attacked him but later stopped the plan due to Ghana's opposition. Gbagbo got to power through violence & through violence he has left power.

@sagamite - You 're very well informed and spot on events happening in the Ivory coast. To all who support evil despots and hide on the banner of imperialism, shame on all of you. Your conspiracy theories about about the west gunning for our wealth doesn't hold water anymore.

Shame on all that  thinks that Africans doesn't merit nothing but blood thirsty, greedy dictators like Ghadafi, Mugabe, Dos santos and Gbagbo. Despots who cling to power by killing it's own people and hide under the banner of panafricanism. Shame on you who thinks that freedom and democracy are too big a luxery for africans.
