I don't know about Nigerian military. Most of the ones that I know, you start with a Contract of a couple of years, you can choose to leave when it expires or you can extend. If you chose to leave while your Contract is on. Then you are AWOL or seen as a deserter and hunted down. You cannot even leave the Nigerian defence academy just like that. The French Foreign legion starts with a 5 years contract I think, then upon completion you could pick shorter durations
, if you leave while having a valid contract, head hunters will track you down. If you are a soldier, ask your commanding officer how you can get out. #I have a feeling that you cannot even discuss this in North Korea#.

Sequel to the outcome of the Special Meeting of the Senate of the University of Ibadan held on 5 January 2018, the Management hereby informs the public, especially its undergraduate students, parents and all stakeholders that the Second Semester Examinations for the 2016/2017 Academic Session will commence as scheduled from 8 January 2018. All arrangements have been put in place to ensure the seamless conduct of the examinations and the relative comfort of our students on campus despite the national industrial action embarked upon by members of SSANU, NAAT and NASU.

Despite the peculiarity of the prevailing situation on campus, occasioned by the on-going industrial action, the University Management is determined to always act in the best interest of its students. It is our desire to conclude this session as scheduled so that our final year students can proceed to the next phase of their life endeavours. For instance, it will enable most of our final year students to be mobilised for the National Youth Service Corp Scheme and our graduating Law students proceed to the Law School. It is unfortunate that our students have hitherto been denied many opportunities owing to elongated sessions occasioned by disruptions in the academic calendar.

The University, therefore, seeks the maximum cooperation and understanding of all students and assures relevant stakeholders that it has made provisions for security and the supply of essential services on campus for the duration of the Second Semester Examinations. All students are advised to have proof of identification and be security conscious.
Students are requested to visit their Departments and Faculties for the Examinations Timetable.

A thief came to our house today when he knew that nobody was in the house except my children, when he entered, he told my children that my wife sent him to bring the envelope to her, he thought we might keep money in the house, these children are below 10 years of age, he asked for my wife number, they gave it to him, as he was pretending to be calling my wife, he said "I even have it on my phone" and he was talking as if he was talking to my wife, that was when they led him into all the bed rooms, they opened our wardrobe to look for an envelope, he ransacked everywhere, he was able to steal a laptop, a bag my wife just bought yesterday with #2,000 in it, we don't know yet if he stole more than that, we always tell them to always close doors when they are in, but I don't know why they didn't close it, but I thank God, he didn't hurt them.
