gentleiphy: Please i have been a silent follower of this thread and i will say i have gained a lot of things from questions asked here and your responses here..you are doing a great job.
I have a situation at hand. i am billed to attend a global partnership summit in New York this July 2015 of an international NGO which i belong to and i want to apply for a visa for the summit but i want my wife to go along with me.she is not a member of the NGO and i just recently returned from a world congress meeting in Germany of this same NGO,i have good travel history of Europe-Germany,Holland,Turkey,Belgium and France (excluding UK),Dubai,South Africa,Ghana and my wife has been to Dubai and Ghana too.
what is the possibility of me and my spouse being issued visa as i am going for a business summit but wish to have her around for us to have extra days of vacation after the summit...what will be the best scenario..or do i forget about applying for both of us via the business summit and just apply for holiday while still using it to attend my business summit.Remember my aim of applying for visa is for the summit but wish to carry my wife along.
Please your urgent response is needed as i am about booking for interview date. Thanks The inviting NGO will assist you on this. Usually, there is a separate form issued for accompanying spouse by every reputable organisation. This will cover for your spouse if available. And hope she works and earn income? |

wunmi38: Good day all, I need the house guide on our next application to USA which will probably come up around feb1 to 12 next year. We have applied for USA visa twice before now though both with 30 days and that was to give birth in the USA in December 2013 and January 2014 but was denied, we have both travelled to the UK before the application and after the birth of our son my wife and son had gone to the UK and they spent 4 months and we are also going back to secure 2years visa for the UK as a complete family, my question what and what do the house feel we need to secure a visiting visa and I will be getting an invite from a friends younger brother who is presently in the country, he was the one that gave us the invitation the last time, I also I have a blood sister in the USA but I don't intend to mention her. I work but my wife runs our small private business and also manage the home front please I need to know what is required of me on filling the form DV160 and also what am not suppose to talk about my son that I wanted to go and deliver the USA will be almost 1 by the time we would be applying. I am relying on the good people in the house to help me out. thank you Appears on paper that your circumstance has changed considerably since your last application. wunmi38: I wish to know if truly its a bad idea to apply along with my wife and son. I am applying from my own house and I also have another property and have been working in a financial institution for over 9 years I don't know what other deep connection can I have with my country.
Please I need to know what other information or steps is expected from me so we can all apply together, I work outside Lagos and I only arrange a weekend that will make get a Monday morning say 6.30am for me to get the interview and also get back to work same day, that is the reason I wish its possible for me to get the interview done and over with the same day. thank you If for once you can prove beyond reasonable doubt that you don't seem desperate for this entry visa, then you should be fine. |

But he was issued A - transit visa which I think it strict him within the Airport..
Do you think the A -transit visa issued to him was as an error? Do you think he can still use the A - transit visa to do some sightseeing as well? OR reapply for a B - transit Visa? I need candid advice.. It can't be in error, France Embassy gets skeptical when it comes to issuance of entry visas to Nigerians. |

Adegbulugbe: Sorry she asked what do I do for a living, she didn't ask where am I working and what am I doing there, pls am just confuse incase of my next application The problem always come from lack of interpretation of questions. A little error and your money goes into the air. For the benefit of doubt, any contrary statement(s) to information contained in your filled DS-160, is going to be a likely refusal. Most CO(s), not all, do not have the patience to ask for further clarifications. Always listen very attentively to questions! Next time you attend that interview, your designation is ''Material Engineer'' the next questions will be what you do as a ''Material Engineer'' which is ''handling material personnel matters''. Hope this is the case since in the real world, that is how it is? Always listen attentively and be calm, not very easy due to anxiety, but it can be done. |

9jabiggurl: Need help guys -
My kids are American citizen, Myself and Husband want to renew our visas, in filling the form DS 160 do I need to indicate I am travelling with my kids?(though we may not). Just don't want to give the VO any reason to think we don't want to declare our kids or we do have something to hide, because I had them in the space of 2 years with my 2years B1/B2 visa.
We should qualify for a dropbox but i suspect they will call us in for interview because of my kids so we can show all our receipt of payment for child birth and didn't apply for medicaid.
Is there a record that will throw out my kids name under our names? if Yes, then I think its better we indicate in our forms that we are travelling with them (though we MAY or MAY NOT), so its clear that we have nothing to hide as we paid all fees during child birth.......
Someone help and reason with me.... If you're certain you didn't apply for medicaid, you declared your intention to birth in the States, the CBP officer(s) were duly informed at the port of entry about your intentions back then, then basically you have nothing to worry about. However, those kids are Americans and it will be unwise to leave them in Nigeria while the parents intend to take a vacation in the States. |

@marrychoy, be advised not to claim an event you are not likely going to partake in.
You will be surprised on that fateful day, when the CBP officer will enter your details on his/her system or make that phone call to confirm your claimed attendance at a cancelled conference. |

She also need to be bold during the next interview or she may still be suspected of hiding something. All in all, her current passport is what she must present to follow consistency. |

You can still travel to the States with your visa but try to make a print out of your cancelled conference and embark on such trips after the conference date. Have a sufficient fund and cogent reason for trying to enter the States at that time. Some CBP officers can be extensively overzealous and can turn you back over flimsy reasons. |

shithapuns: BUT SINce they refused to look at any document the last time, why would they look at the same documents this time?...cos she went with all those documents, they refused to look at it.....they simply told her after asking several questions ranging from our wedding date, to my birth day, that the name they hv on file {for my wife] isnt hers!.......n when she asked them, they refused to tell her the name they hv on file!......i have never been married/nor involved in any visa/travel scam, so that makes me believe the VO might hv been confused with the maiden name/ marital name issue................
n remembering their usual language..SIGNIFICANT CHANGE IN CIRCUMSTANCES b4 reapplying.............thats why i feel her reapplying with a new passport bearing her marital name might be the right approach........
pls dont take this that am arguing.i just want to paint a clear picture for the house to advise me rightly...thanks There is no such thing as a mistake on a maiden name. A column for maiden name for spouse is well indicated on the DS-160. The CO's know this situation quite well as applicable to Nigerians. It is not a standing rule to adopt your husband's name, it is an optional decision. Is either you'd applied sometime in the past with such entries as being married and with the help of an agent, or a very un-usual error of a mistaken identity. Maybe there's something you are not telling us here. You alone can know this. |

Now my wife and 2 kids are desirin to apply for visa also. There is a wedding we intend to attend in Ohio, a family friends wedding. I got my own visa on the platform of the same wedding but it was the elder brother of the person doing wedding that time and now, his younger brrother is gettng married in june next year.what are their chances ? I mean what are the chances of my wife and kids getting the visa approved ? The guy that is getting married is a USA citizen, he currently works in UK, his wife is a USA citizen currently in the USA. Secondly, can we use hotel reservation ? Or is it a must that we must get a letter of invitation from him inviting us form the wedding ? Already we have the wedding invitation card. Having been credible in your first entry for the same purpose, i guess you can pass. Your wife and kids can be issued visa only at the discretion of the CO. He/she can decide to use them as your tie to Nigeria by refusing their application. |

note: she has uae and 1 african country visa in the old passport....wch we will looose if we get a new passport so pls i want to know if there is any advice the good house can give me....thanks She will have to apply with her current passport bearing her maiden name to clear the negative notion that she's not your wife. And you must attend the interview with her taking along your marriage documents and bank transaction details between you and her since before and after your marriage.
