PoliticsMilitary Commander Who Recaptured Damboa Transferred Out by tzetzefly(op): 7:52pm On Sep 18, 2014
What has been exposed as top military
sabotage of the so-called war against
Boko Haram, has not yet ended in the
Nigerian military according to continuing reports from the battle front.

Nigeria’s top Boko Haram negotiator, Australian Dr. Stephen Davis recently revealed that Nigeria’s former Military chief, General Azubuike Ihejirika is a top sponsor of the Boko Haram terrorist group.

This perplexing revelation answered hundreds of questions Nigerians had on why one of the best armies in Africa remained unable to defeat a handful of ragtag terrorists living in harsh conditions like Robinson Crusoe in circumscribed jungles in the northeast.

But since this army chief was sacked this January, we have continued to receive disturbing reports of a continuation of top military level, army chief implicated, sabotage of the so-called operations against Boko Haram.

The sabotage sacrifices men of the Nigerian army and allows Boko Haram recoup continuously and conscript more young youth from the north, creating a permanent, endless cycle of loss of life of Nigerian northern youth.

Most recently it was complained to us
that the recent valiant action of an army commander in recovering Damboa from the hands of Boko Haram last August, surprisingly earned him a transfer and got him replaced.

This is very hard to believe, but our sources have confirmed that Maj. Gen D. M. Kachalla who led his men bravely and tactically and was able to recapture Damboa from the Boko Haram terrorists was immediately thereafter removed from his post and transferred out of Borno State. Maj. Gen D. M. Kachalla with his special force defeated Boko Haram and reclaimed Damboa without any causality on the army side.

It has been noted that the Special task force who defeated Boko Haram in 2013 after the state of emergency was declared, and killed the original Shekau in August of that year were all transferred out of the State likewise by the Military chief that very August
shortly after they reported killing the
original Shekau and that was when the stationary army division 7 was suddenly used to replace the effective JTF and Boko Haram was allowed to forcibly conscript more unfortunate northern youth and the sect was allowed to recover fully.

Evidence suggests a level of cooperation between the leaders of Boko Haram and Nigeria’s implicated army chiefs. Military vehicles and weapons are left for the terrorists and capable army commanders are transferred out.

Also the Civilian-JTF who Boko Haram hates and fears the most were significantly undermined and incapacitated by the former head of the army, General Ihejirika.

They remain sidelined and obstructed from engaging and sacking Boko Haram under the current Military
Chief, General Kenneth Minimah.

The United States Assistant Secretary for Africa Affairs, Linda Thomas-Greenfield this week described the Nigerian military as literally a sham now, stating that it has lost practically all left of its reputation.

What your visit to the States entails and you dont need a medical report to attend an interview.

VisaOfficer: In this case, the excuse that "I was only naive and uninformed" sounds an awful lot like "I am the sort of person who believes it's acceptable to be dishonest if dishonesty can help me reach my goals." If you were refused under 214(b), it's not a permanent ban; but this will be on your record forever. It won't be impossible to obtain a visa in the future, but you're right, you've seriously undermined your credibility with us.

At any rate, your question is actually a question for my non-immigrant colleagues at https://www.nairaland.com/1792662/u.s-non-immigrant-visas-listening .

buster: Good day everyone. I am new to this thread and I need advise. I intend travelling to the USA for a medical conference in Georgia. A well known multi national hospital in India is willing to cover all expenses including flight ticket, hotel and all other expenses. I have a letter from the hospital stating they would cover the expense. But am a little bit worried because they didn't give me their statement of account. Is the statement of account needed at the embassy or would the embassy confirm themselves. And also do I need to present my own statement of account even if am not the one paying for the trip
Your statement of account will be required. And your application will be subjected to an administrative review to ascertain that multi-national organisation willign to sponsor you.

Terrorism is rife these days.

adigunomomama: Can he apply befor the month end becos the conference is coming up on Oct 1st?
Yes, he can apply before October 1st.

As long as there's an available interview date.

And being mindful of the fact that the situation that led to an initial denial has changed or it was an initial error from a decision reached by the VO.

TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa by tzetzefly(m): 7:42pm On Sep 15, 2014
maddock: @mofella and keni
It was later I heard that 2 amongst us were successful and I don't know them that much to start asking for a transcript. But I was told one already had a visa for US and the other basically have travel experiences to SA,Dubai and maybe two other schengen countries. But amongst those refused some of us also had same travel experiences SA, Dubai and europe too.

The truth of the matter was that during the interview it went very well, just normal questions and answer section. No unnecessary explanations or calls for clarifications. Infact I was so sure of having d visa only to be handed the blue slip and my passport. Meanwhile it was that elderly Chinese man (I often read here that he is very good at refusing applicants) that interviewed me. But he wasn't the one that refused the other applicants anyway.

But I did mentioned that I have two passport that wasn't attached together and it was the other passport that have my travel history. The passport that was submitted had just a visit to a west African country and a schengen refusal in 2011. But in my application form I did stated all my travel history.

Please Tze-tze am still waiting for your comment as regards the last question asked in my previous post. Is it advisable to re-apply in Abuja for the november edition of the course or just forget it for now and ask for a refund, because I really do not want to them to see me as one desperate for a visa because am really not.
Apply where you know is more convenient for you. I would also not advise you to change location so soon, makes a CO wonder what is chasing you from Lagos and put your application in doubt before it is viewed. Your application is dependent on your ties to Nigeria and the benefit of this conference on your job.

Never mind, another VO will interview you and not the same CO.

You claim a travel history you cannot prove. Take your other passport with your claimed visa present in it, for future interview.

adigunomomama: @tzetzefly

Pls a colleague at work was refused a B1/B2 (Conference) visa today...

He is asking when he can re-apply?
As soon as his status improves or if he can now show that an error was made in the initial CO's decision.
TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa by tzetzefly(m): 7:28pm On Sep 15, 2014
maddock: Thank you tzetze, your input is highly appreciated. But with respect to your reply my job is sales related/business development and the training is sales related, negotiations, leadership etc. It's an executive leadership program. Just like other short executive courses run by other business school in nigeria and all over the world.

But anyway my main concern like I stated above, is it wise to re-apply again after 2 or 3 weeks as advised by the facilitators in Abuja embassy for the november edition, because all payments made by me viz course fee, airfare, accomodation, feeding etc etc are still with the facilitators or I should just ask for a refund and wait it out till another time sometimes in the future. My main headache is I don't want to be seem as being desperate and that is a ground for another refusal, because to be honest with you I don't understand how this US visa thingy works hence my throwing it to you tze-tze for your expert opinion.
There is no sign of desperation from you based on a single application. Desperation starts when after several denials, an attempt is made to change your status so as to influence a visa outcome in your favour.

keni: Hello tzetzefly,

You are doing a really good Job here, as regards Maddock's question, is South Africa and Dubai not enough travel experience because I have read through out this thread that it (Lack of travel experience) might be a reason for refusal.

@Maddock is there a way you can share with the house transcript from the successfull applicant in your group? from all I have read so far in this forum, you meet all the criteria but I think that transcript from the successful ones may throw more light into the thinking of the official
South Africa and Dubai are both good travel experience when they both have a solid bearing on your current situation and not to influence your current visa application to sway the VO in your favour.

Meaning: embarking on those travel so soon in order to influence your current visa outcome.

Thank you
Then you have no option than to attend that interview and hope for an oversight from the CO.
TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa by tzetzefly(m): 5:30pm On Sep 14, 2014
maddock: Thanks tze-tzefly. Yeah I was amongst those refused and the interview went very well in my own opinion anyways. Just normal questions like:
Where are you going? I told him.
Why are you going? I told him.
What courses are you going for? I listed the courses.
Have you ever being out of the country before? I answered yes both SA and Dubai.(although the passport I submitted had just a travel history an African country and a stamp of refusal by a schengen country way back in 2011) my other passport with my travel history of SA, Dubai and ghana was in my hands and he didn't asked to see it.
Are you married? I answered yes about 8years ago.
How many kids? I told him and also showed him my kids pix.
How much is my salary? I told him the basic salary about 300k plus commissions and bonus making about 600k monthly. He didn't ask to see payslips or bank statement.
Why was I refused by the schengen visa? I told him I had wanted to go for vacation with my wife in 2011 but they had had other opinion.
Then he asked why the African country I visited in 2013? I told him that country was part of my sales territory and so I went there to see if my company could do business but found out that the place is not viable hence we had to drop the country.

I think that's about all. To be honest I thought the interview went well and was expecting to be issued the visa. Only for my passport and a blue slip be handed over and the rest is history.
So my question still remain since the date of training is september and november, is it advisable to re-apply because the facilitators suggested we do so at the Abuja consular office. Would it be interpreted as being desperate to re-apply after 2 or 3 weeks after refusal? The only reason am listening to them is because I don't want to be forward in asking for a refund of all payments made. As for the other 16 refused like they also stated theirs went well without much questions but they were refused. The refusal is like in two phases those married got blue slip while those unmarried got white slips. So tze-tzefly what's your assessment of this whole scenario?
First, your lack of travel experience was key to your refusal. I wont be surprised this applies to your other colleagues.

Second, your itinerary may not have fit into the conference or seminar you want to proceed for. Meaning, how does your job relate to the event in the States?

The slip is to differentiate each group from the others. It has no significant effect on the visa outcome.

Letter from the HOD? Can my acceptance and admission letter suffice. Or do I just reschedule the interview and get these docs in place as my interview is this Wednesday .
Please also advise I can't remember stating a travel date on the online application thanks
Suspend your travel date till six months time when your first and second semester exams would have been verified. This will show a long term commitment to your studies.

maddock: Please I need advice from the gurus in the house. We are a groups of about 18 people recently applied for an entry visa to the US to attend a short program. Only 2 of us were successful and d remaining 16 were denied. The fact is that the remaining 16 in my own opinion are very qualified as as they are responsible family men and women and have very comfortable jobs. The course is supposed to be in September and also in November. The first application was Done in Lagos but the groups intending applying again in Abuja. Do you guys think it would be an issue to apply in Abuja instead of Lagos where we first applied and moreover we intend re-applying in a space of two or three weeks from the date of earlier denial. Would the group be seen as desperate of its just a normal thing. I really do not understand how this US visa thingy works, because the course fees, flight, hotels, feedings etc have been fully paid and the Institute which is a popular business school equally send an IV letter to the embassy stating all these. But yet it was mass denial for the applicants which cuts across bankers, owners of flourishing business, highly placed executives in pharma coy, etc. So please tze-tze what's your opinion?
Why were the 16 applicants denied and 2 issued with visas?
A transcript of what transpired during your interview will be needed to assess the situation.

NOTE: Anyone can be refused a visa irrespective of your position and stand in the society.

You will need a letter from your Head of Dept, transcripts from your admission office addressed to the US Mission sealed in an envelope with the school stamp across the flap.

A virgin passport so to say for a visa on a trip to France, will be greatly difficult task.

Try going to the UK for now to boost your travel experience.

Get your documents ready: tax papers, payslips, C of O, bank statements>> personal and business, etc.

Subtract your expenses from your income on a monthly basis then add the monthly figure together to arrive at your earnings in a 12 months period.

Now divide the total by 12 months to determine your average monthly earnings.
