I think its actually the Ghana fans that are in the inner area of the stadium. They're being threatened by the EQG fans in the stands. Shameful sights!
Yep you are right. Apparently lots of bottles were thrown into the stands where the Ghanaians were so they came on the pitch to seek protection

It's his pregame ritual. Like messi ties his left shoe laces before the right one. David Luiz used to touch torres head before each half and ronaldo always hits the chest of his teammates

Thanks for the support man. There should be more Ghanaians and Nigerians like u. It's disgusting how some Nigerians hate Ghana just because and vice versa. I don't know if it's a trait of Nigerians living in Nigeria to be selectively blind because every Nigerian I've met in GHANA, USA, or UK has always been fair and very sound in judgment but it seems tonylyte just chooses to be selectively blind at all the fouls the Guineans are committing. I wonder how many tackles atsu alone has gotten

Do u knw how to differentiate rough ''challenges'' from good ones? Are u not used to rough challenges? Even your league will testify. Hav u ever won fair play award of the tournament in any competition u have been to?
And I'm guessing Nigeria has won a fair play award in every tourney they've been in. And I'm also guessing that you think the guinea goalies punch to atsu was a great challenge because you ain't talking about it Tony

In a sane competition ghana will be left with only the goal keeper. All the ghanaian players here deserve red card.
In an unbiased world, Africans will learn to not be selectively blind and biased. The only bad challenges I've seen from Ghana are the Jonathan mensah push and the wakaso challenge. Only tonylyte will claim the entire Ghana team is playing team

tzooh: As a Ghanaian, I have to say: The Black Stars were pretty bad. Was disappointed with the way Cape Verde were delaying in the first half when the score was 0-0. The keeper would drop the ball, wait for Gyan to approach and then pick it up. And it took them forever to get in throw-ins. Next time they should not try to settle for a draw hoping to beat a team on penalties. Also about the penalty, I thought it was a bad challenge. The CV player obviously pushed Gyan off the ball. Gyan was the one with position, and the CV player just pushed him off the ball without actually touching the ball. I don't see how that was not a penalty. I however have to congratulate CV. They were excellent and deserved to go through but domination don't win matches. Same with Barca and Chelsea, Barca dominated, Chelsea defended and won. However, Ghana was just god-awful.
Can't wait for tomorrow's game: Nigeria 1-1 CIV. Penalties will settle the score.

bin gbagbo: comparing the list to....

...kwarasey, paintsil, afful, vorsah, boye, annan, atsu, kwadwo, ayew, badu, gyan ,

...mismatch?? grin
Am Ghanaian and I can tell you that our afcon squad is full of useless players like john paintsil, derek boateng, rabiu mohammed, solomon asante, emmanuel clottey, anthony annan, yahaya mohammed just useless. Considering the fact that Essien and Muntari just came back from injury, Daniel Opare injured, and Kevin Prince Boateng no longer a Ghanaian international, Ghana's afcon squad should have been:
GK-Kwarasey, Robert Dabuo, Daniel Agyei
DF-Boye, Vorsah, Akaminko, Rashid Sumaila, David Addy,Afful,Kissi Boateng
MF-Mubarak Wakaso, Afriyie Acquah, Agyemang Badu, Kwadwo Asamoah, Christian Atsu, Andre Ayew,Albert Adomah, Quincy Owusu-Abeyie, ishmael yartey.
FW-Jordan Ayew, Gyan, Majeed Waris, Boakye Yiadom
Nigeria holds more firepower than the Ghana squad Appiah listed. Looking at Yobo, Emenike, the two uches scares me. The only player who does not scare me is Mikel Obi. Pretty good squad by Nigeria. Hopefully they teach those insurbodinate Zambians a lesson.

UncleJJ: But, Lagos is nt working half as hard as GHana.besides, what is responsible for this Ghana gdp..... Could it be Nigerians ?

OH YES, INFACT NIGERIA IS 100% RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERYTHING GHANA'S ECONOMY, you ignorant idiot. 1.5 billion dollars is the amount of money nigeria has invested in Ghana since 1994 to 2011. Shouldnt you be ashamed. Nigerians are investing in our country. Why arent they staying in Nigeria investing in the Nigerian economy. Oh wait, I already know the answer:
1) In Ghana no one will kidnap them and hold them for a ransom. You guys even kidnap your own footballers and their families in order to get money
2) No boko haram assholes killing innocent people.
3) No assholes named MEND destroying factories and companies
4) No area boys harassing people
5) There is not enough energy in Nigeria to power their companies.

You guys should live in your heaven and stop claiming Ghana is a slave to you because it is not. Nigerians are too proud. Giants of Africa, please. Look the reality is both Ghana and Nigeria are filthy poor. Ghana is not better than Nigeria, neither is Nigeria better than Ghana. Instead of solving our problems, you are here claiming even Lagos state's gdp is greater than that of Ghana and that Nigeria's investment is what solely powers Ghana's economy. Both claims are absolutely false. Instead of fighting back and forth. We should be thinking of a way to make our countries better

Why should i be ashamed. I am not the one who posted here that lagos state had a greater gdp than the entire Ghana. If anything, it should be you that should be ashamed for misleading people to believe lagos state was better than ghana which i have just proven to be false. GOOD DAY
Foreign Affairs / Re: John Mahama (VP) Is Ghana's President Now by tzooh: 10:07pm On Jul 24, 2012
Billyonaire: Your figures are false, paste the source, Ghana is just like Lagos State in a country of 36 States. Dont insult your master.
http://www.imf.org/external/pubs/ft/weo/2012/01/weodata/weorept.aspx?sy=2011&ey=2017&scsm=1&ssd=1&sort=country&ds=.&br=1&c=652&s=NGDP_R%2CPPPGDP&grp=0&a=&pr.x=68&pr.y=7
the above link is ghana's gdp both gdp ppp and gdp nominal (which is recorded as current prices / nominal) valuation in 2011 and 2012. The other years are projections IMF expects of Ghana's gdp (ppp) and nominal (current prices). Now this second link is provided by lagos state private partnership office which states lagos states gdp (ppp) as of 2011. Look at the 5th page of the link below where it is stated that lagos state's gdp is 42 billion dollars
http://www.icrc.gov.ng/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/ICRC-PPP-Forum-June-2011v3-Ayo-Gbeleyi.pdf

Now as you can see Ghana's gdp ppp is greater than that of lagos state. So stop misleading yourself

Rhino.5dm:

Ghana is just small country with economy less than that of Lagos state. stop comparing us with those ediots.

Once again, many nigerians like you dont do proper research before writing. Lagos state gdp (ppp) is 36 billion dollars as of 2012 and ghana's gdp (ppp) as of 2012 is 82 billion dollars according to imf. The reason why nigerians seem to think lagos state's gdp is greater than ghana's gdp was because nigerians compared lagos state's gdp (ppp) to ghana's gdp (nominal). Back in 2007, ghana's gdp nominal was $29 billion while lagos state's gdp ppp was $33 billion. Thats why most of you believed lagos state is even richer than ghana. But its not, lagos state's gdp nominal back in 2007 was 17 billion dollars which is lower than ghana's 2007 gdp nominal. Please stop misleading yourself and others. There are two types of gdp. Comparing gdp ppp to gdp nominal is different. Lagos state's economy is not greater than ghana's economy so please stop your ignorant rants

olayinka1987:

Then they should also embrace humility. If you come onto a Nigerian website and attack Nigerians I will attack you back. Why should Nigerians bend over and take it in the ass? I'm tired of bottom sniffing "Nigerians" that will defend every other African country before they defend Nigeria. Is Nigeria the only country that has fraudsters and drug dealers? Is the rest of Africa a bed of roses like certain people try too make out? Why is it okay for others to bad mouth Nigerians but when we do the same, we're automatically in the wrong? South Africans and Ghanaians were saying negative things about Nigerians so I replied undecided. Does that make me arrogant for telling a few home truths? Am I the bad guy for that? No way.

I'm not one too chest beat but I tell it like it is. Nigeria IS the powerhouse of West Africa. If not us, who would it be? Ghana? Please!!! Ghana is doing well for herself at the moment but rich Nigerians living Ghana contribute greatly to their economy, this cannot be overlooked. Ghana is a small country with a small population. There is almost as much money in the city of Lagos than there is in the entire country of Ghana. Now is that me hating or am I telling the truth? You only have too look it up on Google. Numbers don't lie. Who else is the powerhouse in West Africa if not us? Ivory Coast, Gambia, Liberia? not a chance. It's Nigeria. The only problem is we suffer from a disease called the Government. They're the ones stealing all the money. Nigeria has helped many countries in West Africa. Imagine all the money we have given Ghana over the years. When countries need help in West Africa they come too Nigeria. Fact. Call me arrogant all you want. I'm simply stating facts.

I'm humble but I'm not a doormat. Respect me and I will respect you. It's that simple.
I am really suprised by this misguided information you have posted above. I wont deny that there are many nigerians living in Ghana that are contributing to our economy. Infact Nigeria accounts for approximately 60% of Ghana's investment but investment only forms about 3% of Ghana's total GDP. Indeed Ghana is a small country with a small population, but like you said we are doing well for ourself. Now to your claim that there is almost as much money in Lagos as there is in the entire Ghana, i will tell you point blank that it is a lie. As a matter of fact, I figured out why many Nigerians believe Lagos State's GDP is bigger than that of Ghana. Well, many people don't know that there are two types of GDP which are the nominal gdp and the purchasing power parity (PPP) GDP. Now many people boast that the Lagos state GDP was hovering about 30 billion while Ghana's GDP was around 25 billion dollars. But this was a complete miscontrue of the nominal and PPP of both the state and country. The lagos 30 billion to Ghana's 25 billion was actually a comparison of Ghana's nominal to Lagos's PPP GDP. Just to let you know this 30 to 25 billion data was back in 2007. And in 2007 Ghana's GDP PPP was around 65 billion twice that of Lagos GDP PPP. Now Lagos's GDP nominal back then was 19 billion compared to Ghana's 25 billion. Now it is 2012 and Lagos state's GDP PPP is 33 billion according to Canback Global Income Distribution website while Ghana's current GDP PPP is 82 billion according to IMF database meaning Ghana's GDP PPP is 2.5 times better than that of your infamous lagos state. As of 2012 Ghana's GDP nominal is nearly 46 billion while that of Lagos state as of 2011 is 21.3 billion according to Canback Global Income Distribution which is twice that of Lagos state compared to the 2007 figures of 25 billion to 19 which has a ratio of 1.316. Ghana's economy as of 2012 is the third fastest in the world at a rate of 13.5% behind Qatar 18% and Mongolia 17.3%. On the same note, Ghana's GDP PPP per capita is $3,100 as of 2011 compared to Nigeria's $2,500 as of 2011. GDP per capita proves that if Ghana had nigeria's population and resources of 170,123,740 people, Ghana would be producing at a GDP PPP of $527383594000 (527 billion dollars) compared to nigeria's current $414.5 billion. While I wont deny that Nigeria's GDP PPP of 414 billion dollars is 5 times greater than that of Ghana's 82 billion, I think you should not ignore the fact that due to Nigeria bigger population which is 7 times Ghana's 24 million. As a result Nigeria has a bigger labor force. Nigeria's active labor force as of 2012 is 50.1 million people twice ghana's population and 6 times Ghana's labor force of 8 million labor force. But now in order to see how great Nigeria is, please lets compare Nigeria to countries of similar resources and population like Brazil which has a population of 180 million people but is operating at a GDP PPP of 2 trillion dollars compared to Nigeria's 414.5 billion. Lets look at Russia which has a population of almost 160 billion (close enough to Nigeria's population) is operating at 2.3 trillion dollars and Japan operating at 4 trillion with almost 14o million people and Pakistan operating at 500 billion with a 170 million population. Even Pakistan is well off. Now lets compare Ghana to countries within its own population range namely North Korea, Yemen, Nepal, Afghanistan, and Taiwan. Lets start with Taiwan first, which undoubtedly is ahead of Ghana with an operation of 888 billion in GDP PPP with a population of 24 million. But looking at North Korea with a population of also 24 million is operating at 40 billion dollars GDP PPP, and Yemen with a population of 25 million has a GDP of 65 billion and Nepal with Population 26 million is operating at 36 billion. Plus Afghanistan with a population of 25 million has a GDP PPP of 26 billion. This data above shows that Ghana is producing at a similar rate or even higher compared to countries which essentially have the same population as Ghana. On the other hand, while Nigeria's population compatriots are operating in trillions, Nigeria is way behind not even operating at half a trillion. Furthermore, Ghana's population below poverty line is 22% which is roughly 5 million people in Ghana while Nigeria's population below poverty line is 119 million people - Interesting fact for you.
Now you also said that Ghana borrows from Nigeria and yet all of Ghana's external debt are owed to China and the United States. Please dont get it twisted because Nigeria does not provide nothing for Ghana. As one of Ghana's major trade partners, Nigeria only supplies oil to Ghana which Ghana pays for, its not like Nigeria is giving the oil to Ghana for free. Eventually, Ghana's dependence on Nigeria's oil supply will diminish since Ghana found oil and also because the electric company of Ghana is putting into plans major projects in Northern Ghana to ensure that solar and wind power provides at least 20% of Ghana's energy supply after 2013 and also because Ghana's BUI dam has been completed and its first generator will go into operation in the fourth quarter of 2012 with a plan of supplying nearly 40% of Ghana's energy supply by the turn of 2013 in order to facilitate the Akosombo Dam.
Not to mention the fact that Ghana has a better political stability and security. No MEND or Bokom Haram killing our citizens and bombing our capital city during joyous moments like Independence day.
I personally believe that Nigeria will rise above all odds. It has so much potential and the population is a resource yet to be tapped. But Lets see Nigeria catch up. I really want to see that day BTW this is a little video i love on youtube about Nigeria, its called Naija shall rise:

@ courage89 Ghana's GDP is not 32 billion like you claim, according to IMF Ghana's GDP(PPP) is 71.216 billion. http://www.imf.org/external/pubs/ft/weo/2011/01/weodata/weorept.aspx?sy=2008&ey=2011&scsm=1&ssd=1&sort=country&ds=.&br=1&c=652&s=NGDPD%2CNGDPDPC%2CPPPGDP%2CPPPPC%2CLP&grp=0&a=&pr.x=67&pr.y=12
now most ppl claim lagos state's GDP is greater than the GDP of Ghana. well back in 2008 Lagos state's GDP(PPP) was 33 billion and Ghana's GDP nominal was $32 billion. now GDP(PPP) is different from GDP nominal. Ghana's GDP(PPP) back in 2008 was almost 60 BILLION and when you compare Lagos state's GDP(PPP) to Ghana's GDP(PPP) WELL then Ghana will be ahead of Lagos state therefore people should stop saying even Lagos state's GDP is higher than that of Ghana. Lagos state's GDP nominal back in 2008 was 25 billion. Ghana's GDP nominal is 42 billion at the moment ten billion higher than it was before, don't mix up GDP(PPP) with GDP nominal. Now almost 70% of Nigeria's 155 million ppl live below the poverty line of 2 dollars roughly about 105 million ppl now ghana's ppl of 24 million has 20.416% living below poverty line which is roughly about 4. 5 million ghanaians so i think i would rather live in ghana than in nigeria
