EgunMogaji2: 1) Medical. I’m having to convince my doctor that I actually need an annual physical exam. Baba doesn’t think it’s necessary unless I’m ill Oh also, I buy all my supplies. Needles, gloves, etc for the nurse.” I mean they have them but I can’t trust that system for hygiene.
2) Family. Easier said than done but based on feedback, just let madam dey for abroad. You personally will have an adjustment but now think having to be responsible for madams adjustment. It’ll all be your fault when NEPA unceremoniously takes light as she’s boiling meat in the kitchen or having a bath.
And people will bring their issues to you. But you gotta watch that budget. Nigeria is a cold hard place if you’re broke. I am sad to hear that a medical doctor is frowning at your request to have annual medical examinations. According to him, it is only when you are ill that it is necessary.... This is unacceptable. Our healthcare system in Nigeria needs a complete overhaul. |

EgunMogaji2: Different palms, royal, king, apple, cashew, crepe myrtles (different colors), there’re some I don’t know the names. I gave my MaiGuard carte Blanche when I was still in the states. The crepe myrtles are beautiful. Is the Apple tree growing well, considering the weather we have in Nigeria (except in Plateau state)? Good to hear that he made good use of the free rein extended to him at the time. |

SVandal: OP, what do you gain from defrauding your own countrymen? That this is a faceless forum doesn't mean everyone is stupid. This 'message' has red flags planted all over it. You probably have no money for Photoshop Pro so you decided to use free Sketch. If you can, do answer the following satisfactorily.
1 - The line which seperates the sender from the message is divided at a point. Glitch? What kind of glitch is that?
2 - Underneath the Sender's contact, there's a patch clearly showing that the original words were cleaned and replaced with 'NMFB'
3 - Why does this part of the message have a lighter shade than the rest of the message box
4 - This clearly shows the work of a terrible editor. Doesn't look like a glitch to me.
5 - Also this part of this message was cleaned out and replaced with a different one.
6 - Repeating the same mistake over and over
I wouldn't have noticed this if I hadn't used a camera quality reduction app (name witheld). Scrutinizing this with an Opera Mini and UC browser would have helped a lot. For those who already signed up for it. You're dead meat. Goodluck

Carchoice: This lady I been talking to for a while now, I broke the news of my new car to her, everyone was happy. I could see the excitement in her face. After a while the next thing that came out of her mouth was she’s had this weird fantasy for a very long time now that she would like to have sex in a car and see how it feels. She said she heard it’s fun.
I replied her that it’s very fun and mind blowing then I asked her whose car she wants to try it with, she kept quite when she saw the disgusting look on my face. Her father doesn’t have a car, I would have suggested we try it in her fathers car instead.
Village people are already on top my matter because of motor. Will there any issue if your car is used? |

Business To Business › Re: PALM OIL BUSINESS( Productions, Sales and Storage) by uboma(m): 9:14am On Jun 09, 2020 |
iHart: It is better you say she should have a staff than say relative. Relatives and even friends have killed businesses in Nigeria. Unless it's a joint business, I can't allow relatives or close friends to run my business.
About your experience, no country is exempted. Just last week, through a company rep in China, I got in contact with someone who wants to sell some equipment. The equipment are wonderful but to cut a long story short, they are not suitable for business in Nigeria. ...and the man bought then at a price four times the price of local ones that are efficient and more feasible. The Chinese company can't take back the goods, the only help they are giving is to help him market the equipment. This is the second time the company is contacting me to help buy off some equipment from their client in Nigeria. They keep deceiving Nigerians that they have wonderful tools and when you buy them, you find out they are not economical to do business with on Nigeria. That's one,
My cousin was preparing for his wedding, he ordered a beautiful shoe from Alibaba. The seller had good reviews. The shoe landed. To cut a long story short, my cousin headed to Aba to make a new shoe for his wedding.
Another of my cousin started mini importation from China. Goods were so cheap and beautiful. The reviews were wonderful. He placed plenty order. To cut a long story short, he sold off the goods at a very very give away price and didn't continue with the business . Everything was fake.
Back here in Nigeria, I was in shop buying chemicals. Two men approached the shop owner to advertise their product(PKO) and mentioned where they were coming from. The shop owner said he doesn't buy PKO. Immediately I heard PKO and their location, I hurriedly asked them their price, they told me. I gave them the last price I bought. It seemed like we have started negotiating for business in another man's shop. The shop owner, with a harsh voice, chased us out of his shop that he doesn't want when a business will go wrong I will come back and say I met those people in his shop. He continued that he doesn't know those people oh. I followed the two men outside. To cut a long story short, they are now my main and only suppliers of PKO. I have a new client who paid me 800k for a business. He doesn't even know where I stay. But he believes I will deliver. Somebody in Jos who never knew me nor met me, paid me 350k for a business, to balance 100k after delivery. When he came for his goods, he couldn't make transfer of the balance due to the circumstances surrounding his movements at that period. He got back to Jos, after 4 days he paid. Then he called me to ask me why I was not afraid he will run away with my money.
The person that supplies me Shea butter, I met here on Nairaland. I have never seen him in person.
What point am I trying to make? We have genuine people doing business in Nigeria and we even have worse people abroad. Why they seem to look genuine abroad is because they have a system that checkmates them unlike here in Nigeria.
Stop discrediting Nigeria because of one or two experiences. You are a Nigerian doing business in Nigeria. If you discredit Nigeria and Nigerians, you are equally discrediting yourself. ...because you can't come and tell me that to do business with a Nigerian in Nigeria is risky then you advertise your product or service to me. What makes you think I will listen to you? Whoever she's comfortable with? Staff or relative here in Nigeria, she should have someone one can interface with. That's the point I have been trying to make from the start. Cheers |

iHart: I can vouch for her. She is real!!!
If you are abroad and you want your business to thrive in Nigeria, you have to remove relatives from the equation. I set up a soap factory for a client in Sweden, he controls it from there. That my client has a friend who is also in Sweden and has a poultry farm in Nigeria. He also controls it from there. ...and none of them is working with relatives. Your defence is watery. She lives in another country, does the marketing online because her relatives are not skilled in that. She needs to have a relative on ground whom one can relate to, one whom when something goes wrong, we know where to find him/her. This does not stop the payments for her products into her account, not that of the relative. The world has gone global, this is true. But doing business here in Nigeria is entirely different, one needs to thread with caution. I am comfortable sending money to China for goods to be sent to me here in Nigeria, never had an issue. But here in Nigeria, it is a different ball game. Some years ago, I contacted someone here on the forum to buy a laptop, the seller was based in Lagos. I paid for the laptop and waybill fees. He sent to me a defective laptop, asked me to send it to an IT technician for repairs. I opted to send the laptop back to him the following day after receipt, this cost me extra money. I demanded for a refund, he accepted at first but gave conditions of subtracting admin charges and that I give him up to a month to make the refund. Long story cut short, he failed to refund my money after a month and dared me to come look for him in Lagos. I contacted some well meaning members here to intervene, they tried but he kept giving stories. I contacted a senior officer in the NA who sent his boys to his shop. After two days, the dubious seller refunded my money in full (he dared not to charge me the admin fees) and begged me to acknowledge receipt via SMS so the Officers would let him be. I did his bidding 3 days after the receipt of my money. This is just one of my bitter experiences so far. |
