I don't understand this police spokesperson, abi Deputy commissioner. You haven't said anything. Was his vehicle riddled with bullets or not? I can even see bullet holes on his clothes. What exactly are they debunking?

Bullet holes at the back!........SMH. so does that mean the bullets actually entered his body and exited through without drawing blood since he was shot from the front? Or did the bullet somehow hit his ass while he was still sitting down?

What do you mean by "watered down" sir.

And also watered down in the sense that it was far inferior than the book. I know movie adaptations don't live up to the same quality as the book, but this one had very significant changes. And it ended up feeling very "teen" ish. I was disappointed but I guess it would be a good movie for some.

I have read all the Dresden Files released. They are great books full of suspense & very good storyline , but i think am the only one that prefers the kind of medieval political dramas and magicin Codex Alera.

By the way, i recommend you read [/b] Something From The Nightside [/b] by Simon R. Green. It's quite similar to the Dresden Files

I love Codex Alera! Nothing compares to it. I'll try and get this other one you mentioned. But I doubt anybody can match the humorous way of telling stories that Jim Butcher has.
Literature / Re: Name Your Top 5 Novels Of All Time You Would Like Your Friends To Read. by Ucheparker(m): 11:52pm On Jan 24, 2018

I was gifted the Iliad by my dad in my junior secondary school days..I got engulfed in the world of Greek mythology from then on..I also went on to read the sequel which is the odyssey...as for Martins, that guy is hands down the most witty storyteller I’ve(personally)known..Tolkien pales in comparison truth be told..we’re patiently waiting for the book 6 to be released, don’t know what is taking Martins so damn long!

There is a running joke in my little readers club that maybe GRRM is waiting for the Trumpet before he will release the next book........but I heard he is working on the GoT TV series script so in theory the book is basically finished.

Seriously, most persons commenting on this thread don't read novels.

For me, the first place goes to malazan book of the fallen by Stephen Erikson. The sheer scope of the book is breadth taking (unfortunately, most on this thread would not be able to go beyond the first book)

Others include :
Codex Alera ( Jim butcher)
wheel of time ( Robert Jordan)
King killer chronicles ( Stephen Rothfuss)
A song of ice and fire ( George R Martin [ game of thrones movie ])

I was just thinking that if I finish this thread without any mention of "Jim Butcher" then I'll never visit nairaland again! Well not something that drastic but the man is a genius! Have you read the Dresden files!? Your mind would be blown.
Education / Re: Palindromes: Let's Catch Some Fun by Ucheparker(m): 12:33am On Nov 23, 2017
Longest English palindromic word is - Redivider

Longest sentence is
"Now Norris, Sir I mail a new opus. So be it...." and hence predictably ends "Tie boss up, Owen. Al, I am Iris. Sir, Ron won."

No need to say copied right?
Business / Re: Compare Nigeria's Naira To Other African currencie and Be Shocked At The Result. by Ucheparker(m): 3:18pm On Oct 17, 2017
Just30:
I guess the naira has more value than the dollar cos cutting your hair cost less in Nigeria than in the US and UK.

That's just a typical example. I actually wanted a very simple one that you could understand. I lived and worked in Ghana, everything from food to transport to utilities like cutting your hair or watching a match is relatively more expensive than Nigeria. Means that you'd still use the Naira to acquire more in those countries is the point I'm trying so hard to make.

Complete show of ignorance.

This is how many Nigerians assume they are experts in Economics.

The value of your currency is not measured by the figure it exchanges against other currencies but what it can buy.

300 Naira can buy you a loaf of bread in Nigeria but can 10 Kenyan shillings buy you that same loaf?

When you change that money what can it buy? That is the true value. Your nominal value does not mean much.

Don't mind this unlearned OP. Has never been to any of those countries or he won't write this rubbish of a post. And people are already being deceived and talking down on Nigerian economy. With what is written I. The article ₦82 can buy the equivalent of a ₦100 recharge card in Ghana because they sell recharge card at 1cedi. To cut your hair in Ghana you would need to spend 6 cedis which the equivalent of ₦492 and this is exactly what they use to cut your hair in the village!. A lot of people have written about currency devaluation but few Nigerians understand what that means but in essence if you devalue your currency you can just reassign value of one note to a lesser note! In simple terms 1 Ghana cedis should buy exactly what ₦100 should buy but the naira is ahead of the cedis by ₦18!
And this is just for cedis, I'll bet that all of the countries on that list also devalued their currency too. So their 1 whatever their currency is should also buy what ₦100 should buy except south African rand on that list.

You are very unrealistic character I can see

I will address all you lies of a question one by one

1 :Yes Obama was one of the worst things that has happened to the black race apart from being President of America what eləsə has he done for black people anywhere..Under him black on black crimes spiralled upwards without remedy, Obama funded demonic insurrection against various govts in Africa for no reason from Libya to Nigeria where he funded and armed Islamic terrorist to deal terror in the region, it's on record that Obama refused to give Nigeria the antidote to the Ebola even though the biggest gathering of black people in world faced an epidemic ..

2: You need to read more about global warming so you will know it's a big fraud being pushed by Satanist .

3 : you clearly know nothing about autism and the industry behind it so I can't help you

4: Obama care is nonsense , what kind of Healthcare plan tries to force few to pay for the health care of of everybody including illegals ..It will implode on it own by December so then who will you blame ..Obama care is not workable .

5: can you see how silly you sound now ? So the North Korean Rogue govt wakes up and start threatening the US , Japan and South Korea with unprovoked nuclear strikes and Donald Trump promises his allies of his support but yet you think Trump is the one who is escalating the issues ..can't you just see how wickedly untruthful and silly you're?

6 : Have you asked yourself what the US anthem has done to those overpaid NFL babies that they want to disrespect it ..How many blacks have been killed under Trump as compared to under the devil Called Obama but yet you think Trump is the their problem ..See we all know they are bing influenced into civil disobedience by Hillary Clinton and George Soros Satanic funding.

7: If not for Twitter the evil bias mainstream media would have destroyed Trump and he would never be president but thank to Twitter the truth must go out daily from the heart of a man who truly loves America...no matter what haters like you want Trump will never ditch Twitter for y'all..so live with it

You sound like a conspiracy theorist/brainwashed fool. I'm not an American, neither Republican or Democrat but I've been paying attention to the news and making research. Something that is clearly not in your dictionary. Colin Copernick started this protests and initially just sat down while the anthem played. Until a teammate advised him to kneel, that team mate was a former army ranger! This kneeling started under Obama's administration. I saw the video of the Philando Castro's shooting and I wept for hours. The officer involved was not convicted. I wish I know you in person cos you're beyond words at this moment. The shootings of unarmed black Americans has been happening for a long time now and yet there has been NO CONVICTIONS! I am only taking my time to address this because I have read the most about this particular issue and feel this particular point would stand the most chance of penetrating your unbelievably thick skull. The kneeling respectfully while the anthem is being played is the most peaceful and respectful protest I've ever seen. It has brought attention to the reason why the protest is being done but they're still fools like you who focus on the act and not the reason beyond the action.

This is trying to turn truth on it's head, pastor.

I don't know about the gay thing, but King James Version (KJV) appears more credible than New International Version (NIV), where
it is been proven that so many Bible verses were deleted. Even the word sodomy does not exist in the NIV.

An example is Matthew 17:21, "Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting" [/b]which was COMPLETELY removed.
[also deleted from the Jehovah's Witness "Bible"].

Another is, Matthew 18:1, also COMPLETELY removed [also deleted from the Jehovah's Witness "Bible"]. What did the verse say?
[b]"For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost."

I John 5:7 -- Vitally important phrase COMPLETELY removed [also deleted from the Jehovah's Witness "Bible"]. In the NIV it says,

"For there are three that testify:"

Compare the NIV reading with the following Jehovah's Witness reading--

"For there are three witness bearers,"

What are you NIV readers missing? What does the real Bible say?

"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." I John 5:7 (KJV)

The problem is that very few would notice the jewels this guy just dropped. Neither it's importance or it's significance. No other Bible version is more complete than the KJV it might not be easy to understand, but it has no deleted verses.

Well u that is trying to make sense fail to do so.. bf naira crash.. cedi has been so useless.. i came to gh in 2014 since den cedi has gone from 2.8 to 4.5 now to a $1 and the fact still remain that, the value of the money is worthless compare to naira. what u can do with 1k in nigeria u cant do with 10 cedi tho it bigger now then 1k. do u kow the mean of value? u sure say u go sch? value is what sense? Ghana is the most expensive country in the whole of africa hope u know that! the money dnt hv value cos u can eat 3 times with 10cedi in ghana but u can do that in nigeria and still hv change..

My guy he won't understand. I'm sure that guy has not traveled out of this country. I lived in Ghana for a while and even though the economy has improved their currency is still trash. When I'm being sent money from Nigeria it becomes a lot more a cedis. The mistake most of them make is that they think 1 cedi is eqaul to 1 naira and so forth . Meanwhile 1 cedi is equivalent to 100 naira but the exchange rate is 79 naira which means you would get an extra of 21 naira on every exchange you make per cedi. The Naira is stronger than a lot of the currency in that list judging from the fact that the OP didn't include purchasing power into his misleading post.
