go back and read my past comments. i am being real. i need to correct an impression about the high expectations people generally have about being abroad. i have seen people weeping for being uninformed especially those who have lost so much just to get here. things could turn good also but the truth is that there are challenges here too. And you know it.
i dont need anyone to like my post. nobody likes the preacher who preaches hell fire every sunday. Everyone one wants to hear prosperity preaching only. when i read UK and other threads on nairaland i am impressed. people coming out to say things the way they are. i read Canada thread recently on NL and what i read shocked me.
enough said

Can you please stop being so aggressive. Nobody is quarreling with you, i don't know why you are taking things too personal. I can say it over and over again that Germany is one of the best countries. if you feel that you don't like the system you can relocate, and stop discouraging most people. If you cant be corrected then stop commenting here, i don't even know when you started existing here. You correct people and get offended when being corrected showing that you know it all.

If you did convert it to naira and the quality of that product is higher in naira then it is expensive. To get the actual price of a product you must convert it in exchange rate to get the true value. I have bought 4 tablets of Paracetamol for 8€ at the pharmacy. On conversion I discovered that its way more expensive. If it was in Nigeria a full card of about 20 tablets of emzor won't cost more than 50naira. The most annoying thing is that the effectiveness to cure my headache was just the same as the Paracetamol in Naija.
Stop countering my comments. You are not wiser than me. And what kind of cheap laptop are getting for 300€? Was it second hand from eBay or imported from China? And yes 300€ is a lot of money to a German because by the time you work back breaking jobs just to get 8.50€ per hour then you will know that it is a lot of money and you will be wise to spend it.
Btw I just got a gist this morning that a certain Yoruba guy who got an IT placement in Frankfurt in DB bahn had applied severally to many places with rejections for a long time and was about to end his program and even give up before he got this one placement in DB but you came here saying it as if he got it at a click of a bottom. Tell the story the way it is and stop painting it as if everything thing happens at the click of a button. A qualified electrical engineering is washing dishes after studying in this same Germany because he has applied and applied continuously for over a year after school and yet nothing. His visa time is running out and he has no option than to apply for another masters and programme. And that is the story of many people here. That I am sure. It is indeed a challenge here but yes some may get it but its not so easy. That is why I always say to people not to leave their jobs to come here because you never know.

You are right in most of your comments but never get offended when been corrected. Sometimes i don't feel like commenting here because a lot of ITK are now here. As long as Germany is concern nobody can tell me that He/She knows everything about the system.

Secondly Germany can never be compared to Nigeria. so adjust the way you present issues, so that you don't discourage many that are planning to come here. It is true that we don't pick money here but Germany remains one of the best countries for students.

On the issue o renewal, A friend told me that he went with a one year insurance and they issued a one year residence and he asked the Ausländerbehörder that most students have two years residence then they said he brought a one year insurance and he gets one year residence.

I have seen someone who returned to Naija because he could neither fund his account nor get VE, this one no be them say.

One thing i know for sure is that different people different stories what works for A might not work for B. Last year I applied to a school thru uni-assist and they sent me a mail that my application is incomplete, i emailed the school and they requested my application from uni-assist at the end a conditional admission was given but €8k no show.
In as much as I appreciate what everybody contributes i can say everyone is right depending on their own situation and experience. Nobody is discouraging anybody, go and experience it yourself.
#WinterMannschaft2016

I don't believe that someone left Germany because he cannot fund his account. Investigate well...

thanks for the reply bro. please what kind of questions do they ask during interview for one using spinsorship letter. cos my sponsor is in luxemburg and I just a family friend. can I claim him as my uncle even if we dont bear same surname?

Prepare for the same questions with those using blocked Acc. But you must have to know more abt your sponsor. Like occupation, how much he earn, his age, address, marital status etc. There must be a strong relationship between you and ur sponsor. I don't really know if they accept letters from Luxembourg. Wish you the best.

Am Sorry bro. How do u mean it entails a lot. cos I plan on using the sponsorship letter route. thanks

Fear not, you only need to convince the VO that you have a very strong relationship with your sponsor. Know more about him. Many people came here with letter of sponsorship including me.

Good luck.

Thank you. I have applied to and got the admission letters from both schools. They both offer basically the same package. The cost of living in Bamberg is just a tad cheaper. But then again, the town is smaller. Sent an e-mail to the school registrar too, waiting for his reply. Would be nice if anyone had some information about the standards of living of both towns, though...

From my own view I don't see Paderborn as expensive city, rather I see it as a loving and beautiful city. Secondly with Paderborn (NRW) semester ticket you can travel to many cities, this will help you a lot in terms of Job. You might not understand this now till you come and see for yourself. Last but not the least, I ve not visited Bamberg or the school in question, but I can tell you that the university of Paderborn is wonderful. Though you have to make your choice...

Arranging my docs for visa interview this morning out of boredom I noticed they've added "Handwritten letter of motivation" as part of interview docs grin.... They are really changing it for us from all angles. WS15/SS16 guys did y'all do same?

*God still pass them sha.

There was only written test for Bsc. And non for Master. But I met one guy here who also told me he wrote maths test and letter of motivation.

But it still don't stop people from getting Visa. I wish you success...

Please house, about the documents to be submitted at the embassy, do I have to attached all together and staple them or staple and arrange differently alongside the copies requested?

Then, do I have to go with health travel insurance (because a question about it was asked on the application form) or wait till after the interview?

Please note that I am applying for a research visa and not student's.

Thanks!

Don't staple them together. Arrange them into 3 different files. One should be the original documents and the other two will be ur photocopies.

Health Insurance is only needed when ur visa is approved.

This is not so advisable, once you are noticed you might end up in trouble, you are not supposed to charge for stuff like that else you most pay tax.

My dear one can do that without entering into any problem stop discouraging people. Its done on a good arrangement btw both.

Seems I will exit from this forum.

cheesy Thanks. Already on that. Any addition needed?.

Learn how to barb hair or how to plait hair. Many guys here don't barb for 2 to 3 months due to the high cost. The cheapest I have seen is 10euros. If you can learn that very well I think it will help u a lot. Maybe u can charge 5euros. I also heard that ladies spend up to 30euros to plait hair. The choice is now urs.

Pls don't think am desperate, I just need help and I believe am speaking on behalf of many others like me. is there nothing at all that can be done. With my family support coupled with a little job i can get over there I believe I can cater for myself. But its just that dropping that 2 million is a challenge.

Would you advice a loan?...where can one get a loan of sort in Nigeria and pay back in a year?.

or what advice can the house give to salvage a situation like this. Fingers are not equal.

GOD BLESS

My dear God is ur strength. I understand how u feel because 2yrs back I had the same issue u are having now. But one thing u have to bear in mind is never give up. I always tell my people that I MUST complete my studies abroad, but (ebee ka ihuru ego).

But I am happy, my confession finally came to pass. I got admission in 2014, but no money no letter. I defered and keep searching for letter till God brings someone who I don't even know up till now. But here I am studying. So believe God and never allow circumstances or challenges stop u from moving forward.

Financially God has been faithful. I ve never borrowed money or ask for help since I came here. And I believe that the same God who know my financial status but never allowed it to stop me can still do it for you.

If I tell u how much I had in my UBA account the day I got my visa u will be surprise how I finally made it here.

if it is NIPOST registered mail you are supposed to get a small slip containing your tracking number to track the mail but I guess it was NIPOST regular mail, I am asking because NIPOST registered mail I sent to Germany took over 3weeks to get there and I was just wondering if regular mail is faster considering the short time it took yours to arrive

Registered, does not make it faster just that it's safer. The tracking number doesn't even work. Both registered and non registered moves at d same time. I have used both it's same result.

i actually felt lyk crying bt i sat down nvsaid to my self,"what must be,must be.bt i Will Never gv up"
we must try thinking of plan B,C........plan Z.
we must succed.
I hv dis idea
1)if u have a trusted person, then you can use money gramm, western union ,or RIA.
2)if u know of someone in Germany with valid naira account, that's anoder option.thus is an issue of trust.
3)u can travel to neighboring countries eg Benin,Togo n Ghana to do the transfer.
I'm NT sure abt d third option Bt I will call my friend in Ghana n ask him to confirm for me if a Nigerian can carryout such transfer in Ghana.
we r all adventurers, this govt can't force us to remain in this zoo called Nigeria while they send their children abroad.
pls lets put our head togeda n bring a way out.we can't pay dis additional I million naira to them.agn we dnt even knw if it will be sold at 345naira per euro
this greddy BDC May decide to fix it at 400,who knows?
God will judge our leaders.past n present

wise thought... but the 2nd Idea is not very clear but if its what am thinking then it is still on a high side. Just last week i withdrew with my GTbank master card here and was charged about 314 per euro. Also you know that we cant withdraw here more than 270 euro per day.

You can explain better if this procedure is not what you mean.
