Chiogo, If 40% in your world is automatically minority then Yoruba, Igbo, and Hausa are then minorities in Nigeria coz non can boast of being 40% of Nigeria's population. Delta state has native Urhobo (Isoko), Ijo, Itsekiri, and Igbo. Delta state Igbos occupy the Northern part of Delta state while the non Igbos dominate the Southern part. Urhobo and Igbo in Delta are basically the big majorities in Delta while the rest of em are minority. |
Oyinda, I'm confused. Aren't you Igbo from Ikwerre-Eche Rivers? I'm assuming coz of your name Oyinda. BTW!! Majority of Akwaibom and Cross rivers people are Efik-Ibibio-Oron-Annang-Ogoja-Ekoi but there are minority native population of Igbo and even Ijo people there too. |
sjeezy8:Can u please quote me where I ever said any non Igbo group in the Eastern region is Igbo or do you just like to pull shyt out of ur a$$ just for the hell of it? SMH |
Kobojunkie, I see u like to argue for the sake of arguments. Tagging some airport "International" is one thing but directing international flights in and out of it is another. My family will love to land in Enugu but can't because its not offered. PH, Calabar, Owerri are in the same situation. |
Ofcourse anything pass Ore is Igbo to Sleezy and the rest of em alaye boys. Painfully ignorant. Since when did Efik-Ibibio of Akwaibom become Igbo? They are closely related and similar but still distinct people. |
Chiogo, please research better before you say certain things. Igbos in Delta make up about 40% of the native population of Delta state. Igbos in Rivers make up about 75% of the native population of Rivers state. There are minority population of native Igbos in Edo, Cross Rivers, Akwaibom and Benue. SS is not SS because there are no Igbos there. Its just called SS for nonsensical and malicious reasons. |
When he talks about breaking up does he mean that the core North will declare independence or does he mean that will unleash boko haram? lol The bagger needs to understand that this is not the Zik era when any demand made by the ota was greeted with prostrations. Those days are gone so let them do their worst and help disintegrate this abominable union we have with them. |
What ya didn't know? Northerners are above the law. Get used to it. Its one 9ja |
Damn shame. In a lawful society these doctirs should lose their licenses and pay hefty fines or just go to prison. I hope the Lagos will prove me wrong this time. |
Oh Tos Benson! My parents took me to his house in Lagos back in the 90s. Nice man and I also have one of his books.Anyway Zik was more of a libility than asset to the Igbo. I wish more people saw this back then and ignored him. While he was trying rule over Africa he forgot that "Charity begins at home but once he got the boot in the West he all of a sudden he realized he was from the East. He should have stayed back in the West or North since thats where is heart was and fought his opponents instead of whipping up his own ethnic and regional sentiments back once he got dealt some heavy blows by Awolowo. Why was he so worried about the North? Its because of people him that the rest of the country think and act like the North must have the last word. Whether he lost or won it wouldn't have made any difference in Igbo land or the East. His bad politics alienated many Easterners anyway. |
Btw Ezeuche's crazy views about non Igbo languages is no way a reflection of how the majority of us think or feel. The swift response he has already gotten from majority of the Igbo here should tell u that but I guess being so kookoo u couldnt see that. The fact is that there will always be minorities who have negative views about Igbos and Igbos with negative views about minorities but there are many who don't share those and will check those who have em. |
Ogaide, please shut ur dirty trap. Igbo ppl want no oil and have em in abundance but just like Ezeuche said we don't even want it exploited and end up like our minority neighbors like the Ijo and Ogoni whos gullible leaders welcomed oil companies into their land thinking oil oil oil will solve their problem. Well it added more problems. I doubt if the average Ogoni man wants to hear about oil again seeing how that oil has brought environmental disaster, oppression and killings in their land. The Ijo fishermen who can't fish or even make use of his land isn't so enthusiastic about having oil. Lord thank you for blessing Igbos with intelligent leaders who are not obsessed with oil. The Efik are also one minority group that does not give a rat's a$$ about oil and look at how far they have gone. Donald Duke of Cross Rivers have proven that an Eastern minority can run a state and economy withoil salivating over that has been more of curse than blessing. |
DedeIts obvious that there is an unwritten policy to deny the East and the Igbo any chance of real economic development and independence. We might have so called International airports in Calabar and PH but these airports are so below capacity even a dummy can tell that there is something seriously wrong. It makes no sense that a people known for business enterprise and education have not one real international airport of their own. Why must we travel to Lagos, Abuja, Kano just board a damn plane? Why must we always ship our goods to Lagos when we can do it in Ph or Calabar or even Onitsha if there is a seaport? The fact is that they want us to be dependent on other regions West and North that any talk of independence will seem suicidal to us hence we are forced to invest regions where our investments are not appreciated at the detriment of own region. Something drastic needs to be done to reverse this shameful trend. |

Lastpage, No problem brotha. Continue with the discussion. |
EzeUche:WTH Nwanna think before you say certain things. Why should or would their language die? No one needs to lose his mother tongue all in the name of being part of Biafra biko. I think it will be better if we make it mandatory for the non Igbo to learn Igbo and the Igbo to learn non Igbo languages. |
Indulge me Tilapia fish? ![]() |

Lol^Ode |
If thats the case then let him please. I support him. |
Lol no mind the lazy oaf. His life starts and ends with oil. His self worth lies on how much oil he thinks his land has. I wonder how much they have gained from that oil personally. |
Dis Yoruba domination must stop NOW. |
Lol Ezeuche, Im with u bro. lmfao Itsekiri people have a right to be anything. My cousins are no damn YOruba dey be half Itsekiri |
So why are the Itsekiri regarded as ethnic nation when they are Ijebu Yoruba? |
