Chinyen, the problem is that ur case is quite unique and many of us find it hard to believe that in 2010 a young Igbo is so rigid and into his tribal identity. Nothing wrong with it as long as it doesn't get in ur way of seeing broader things outside ur way Ngwa heritage.
PoliticsRe: Igbo Extraction And Leadership Problem by udezue(m): 2:50am On May 17, 2010
Asha just gave a good example. When i was growing up in Enugu my parents would speak Oka dialect and Aro-ajali to eachother and their relatives but would speak any central Igbo to us. I remember going to Oka and not understanding pure Oka Igbo but in Enugu I spoke the street Enugu Igbo. The older I get the more I am trying to speak my unique dialects. Growing up in a cosmopolitan city and being from a family of multi tribes and ethnicities affects how you view other Igbos / people. I am comfortable with speaking Ezza better than ARO sef. Nothing mega.

Lmfao shioooooGirl and my dad was swindled over $200,000 by some Yoruba and Ijo business men so the art of swindling is no ethnic group's monopoly.

@ udezue, i am ibibio 4rm edemaya in ikot abasi. what i meant was, if biafrans dont recognise the existence of minorities, then we would rather form an alliance to have our own nation. we wouldn't want to leave nigeria only to end up in a similar situation.
When were ur existence never recognized by Igbo people? In the Eastern region back then weren't the Efik-Ibibio very involved in the political process of serving the region? I wonder how Akpan, Effiong, Eyo Ita, Bassey, etc managed to ellude the Igbo.

Anyway your feelings are very relevant and if ur existence won't be recognized you have every right to SAY NO TO BIAFRA. Its not by force. The last thing I want to see is a repeat of what is going on in Nigeria in Biafra. That will defeat the whole purpose of it. The Biafra I know is the one that recognizes the Ogoni, Efik, Ijaw and Igbo as distinct people who deserve the right to have autonomy and participate.

Lastpage,
Naw its really because they have SWEET OIL.  What can Igbo ppl do without the sweet oil from Akwaibom, Bayelsa, and Ogoni land? OH MY GOD!! They don't like our own oil in Anambra, Imo, Abia and Rivers. They don't like their Coal in Enugu. They don't have any other way to run an economy except by selling and drinking sweet crude oil from these minorities. Their oil is not sweet enough.

I do agree with Asha tho so atleast we are coming to an agreement wanyo wanyo.
PoliticsRe: Igbo Extraction And Leadership Problem by udezue(m): 9:55pm On May 16, 2010
The more Igbo people meet and settle in different towns the more our dialects will get mixed up and its already happening. I cant speak pure Oka or Ajali dialect and when I try the Enugu dialect that I know gets mixed into it. No matter what we think or want, Igbo language is becoming a melting pot of different dialects. This is 2010 not 1658 when communities stayed apart. The dialects will remain but none will be pure. I know some Igbos epeicially the ones who lived in PH and when they talk u hear Ikwere and other dialects mixed with it.
PoliticsRe: Kaduna On Red Alert As Christian Prepares To Take Over by udezue(m): 7:28pm On May 16, 2010
Osofia,
U are not Igbo so quit playing games. Olodo. U can't even spell your username right. Its Osuofia not Osofia. No Igbo dialect in Anambra or anywhere says Osofia. WTF is that. OSUOFIA!!!! EPIC FAIL. Next time do your research b4 trying to impersonate.

BTW!!! Half of Kaduna is made up of indigenous Christians like the Katafs so your argument is wrong. Are u telling me that they have no right to be governors? If so why don't we then split Kaduna in half? As long as Kaduna is a state they can rule and serve as governors not just Hausa and muslims.

95% of Anambra people are Igbo while the other 5% are Igala or mixed with Igala and they are all Christians. Now if we happen to have elected a xtian governor and muslim deputy we will be intelligent enough to know that the possibility of having a muslim governor if we lose the xtian governor is ripe hence like the civilized humans that we are we will simply accept the political process after all we could have voted for both xtian governor and xtian deputy when we had the chance. Got it?

@ EzeUche, so your cardinal points have no south? FYI, we the ibibios, annangs & efiks would rather join an ijaw republic than a biafra
LOL!!!! While I advocate that all Eastern people get along I can't help but chuckle @ your post. You are definitely not Efik/Ibibio coz FYI most Efiks will rather be on their own or be with Biafra with or without the Ijo but not alone with the Ijo while many Igboswill like t be their own but at the sametime will love and won't mind being with the Efik, Ogoni and Ijo as a nation. Igbo people are not threatened by anyone and are self sufficient.
PoliticsRe: Ohaneze Throws Its Weight Behind Jonathan by udezue(m): 9:32am On May 16, 2010
Not every Igbo, or Ogoni or Efik will support Biafra. We will always have some Judases. Even some in the Ogoni community were bribed to testify against Ken Wiwa and had him killed. Does that mean that the Ogoni struggle is illegitimate or that they should not continue? Nope.

PoliticsRe: Igbo Extraction And Leadership Problem by udezue(m): 3:36am On May 16, 2010
Onlytruth,This issue also exisrfs among the Akwaibom and Cross Rivers people hence since the passing of Efiong its been hard pinpoint any1 leader that can speak for them. It makes no sense how people call the Ibibio, Oron, Annang, Efik, Ekoi, etc called ethnic groups when the differences btwn them are just dialects. The loss of Bakassi is a good example of what happens when people can't speak with 1 voice bcoz they lack cenral leadership. The Efiks were left alone to fight that battle when it should have concerned all of them.
PoliticsRe: Ohaneze Throws Its Weight Behind Jonathan by udezue(m): 3:19am On May 16, 2010
Bluetooth, i musta been refering to some1 else pele ooooo. The person who gave us the name Biafra is Frank Opugo and he is Ijo. Are u satisfied now?
PoliticsRe: Igbo Extraction And Leadership Problem by udezue(m): 3:11am On May 16, 2010
Lol its hard to believe that Chinyen lives outside Ngwaland. lol guy why don't u move to some ngwa village and eat and drink ngwa all day long shiooo. u are clannish to a fault but i blame that on ur upbringing obviously. If i meet some1 with the name Amaka I won't care about his actual origin as long as I know she is an Igbo. That doesnt stop me from knowing that I am Oka and Aro. No one is talking about having an Igbo King to rule us so drop it. This is 2010. Having a form of central leadership doesn't stop the Anioma or Ngwa from knowing who they are. If the Igbo is made up of lets say 100 tribes it willl be stupid to have 100 leaders representing us at the sametime nationally.
PoliticsRe: Ohaneze Throws Its Weight Behind Jonathan by udezue(m): 2:42am On May 16, 2010
Blueidiot, let em tell u not all Ijo support Biafra just like not all Igbo or EFik support One Nigeria. There are Yoruba who support the idea of Biafra and Odua republics so shut the hell up and quit digging up shyt. Like I said the Akwaibom ppl I know and also OGoni Ive interacted are pro Biafran kpomkwem. This argument with u is getting stale. for some1 who claims to have an Igbo granparent u are very ignorant of of the history of our people. What a waste?
PoliticsRe: Ohaneze Throws Its Weight Behind Jonathan by udezue(m): 2:01am On May 16, 2010
Biafra is not Igbo people. Smh @ the ignorance. When an Ibibio says he is Biafran he is not saying he is Igbo jooo. Did Efiong or OPugo ever tell u they are Igbo? cheii abasi mbok! lol. U don't seem to know the ethnic composition of many of us in the East. Blood is thicker than water.
PoliticsRe: Ohaneze Throws Its Weight Behind Jonathan by udezue(m): 1:51am On May 16, 2010
Bluetooth please stop exposing ur ignorance. lol I am part Efik-ibibio buddy and have relatives of Ijo extraction. I have nothing to gain out irrelevant lies. The Igbo are the largest and by far the loudest agitators of Biafra just like the Hausa are largest and by far the loudest agitators of sharia, etc but the Nupe, Kanuri, are behind them in support. You hardly hear them or notice their contributions. When the Igbo and Efik, IJo, OGoni meet we talk about Biafra openly and give our opinions. I can remember a calabar family friend telling my mom about how she was torture by Nigerian troops when Ikot Ekpene fell. Its a pity lol that u people try so hard to create this idea that we hate eachother passionately. E no be so. We have disagreements ofcourse just like 2 annang and Ibibio have, okpino and ajali, ibibio and IGbo, Ijo vs IKwerre vs Ogoni, but no hatred to the point that we don't see that we have common aspirations. Keep looking Akwaibom ppl we are here lol. FYI many of my EFik ppl resent Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Igbo Extraction And Leadership Problem by udezue(m): 1:05am On May 16, 2010
Native americans are a good example of disorganized overly individualistic tribes that got wiped off. Igbos will not make that mistake. Chinyen, abandon ur clannish attitude and try to adjust urself in the new era. People like you need to learn something about flexibility. Something gotta give and we all should willing to compromise when its needed.
PoliticsRe: Ohaneze Throws Its Weight Behind Jonathan by udezue(m): 12:46am On May 16, 2010
Abagworo, thanx for the education. These people are so full of ignorance and out of desperation they still spread the same propaganda that Biafra struggkle only concerns a few Igbos in SE alone. I have plenty Calabar peeps who view themselves as Biafrans as much as Igbo ppl do. What I find pathetic is how the Yoruba on NL are so desperate to hang onto to the Igbo at all cost even when they clearly don't like them. Damn! Its a damn shame that Nigeria has rendered a people so known for greatness to leaches. Tufiakwa
PoliticsRe: Bizzare: Beggars Resist Arrest In Abuja, Attacks Security Agents & Breaks Glass by udezue(m): 11:54pm On May 15, 2010
Edoyad, u just took da words out of me. For us to be one we have share same goals and aspirations and in Nigeria we we don't share that with the useless Hausa and Fulani parasites. Its unbelievable that in 2010 u still have lazy people who expect some1 else to take care of them. These bufoons have proven from time to time to be the biggest ill facing the nation. They are like a cancer that needs to be eradicated or abandoned to wallow in their own filth. Their feeling of entitlement is disgusting. In the East u dare not find urself lazying around looking for money when u are able bodied.
PoliticsRe: Igbo Extraction And Leadership Problem by udezue(m): 9:44pm On May 15, 2010
I totally agree with Onlytruth. This is the 21st century and a different hence its important for us to reevaluate ourselves and modify our style of leadership and structure to fit in with the current era. Its the same reason why muslims are being urged to modify themselves and their religion. Igbo enwe Eze is not bad but in this era its suicidal to think that we can survive with every man being his own captain. That mentality isn't working for us in Nigeria in terms of fending off hostile groups and policies. Its this mentality that have retarded the growth of the Anioma politically in Delta state. U made a point that has been on my for a long time. Why is it that Igbo always bare the brunt during crisis outside Igboland? Is it coz we don't know how to fight back or lack access to weapons to defend ourselves? What saved the Igbo in Kaduna was the arrival of Ojukwu and his instruction that they arm themselves to the teeth.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian States Will Soon Be Allowed To Distribute Power - Goodluck by udezue(m): 6:54pm On May 15, 2010
Good idea. I hope he really gets this rolling. what is needed is decentralization then each state can then worry about controlling it or getting private sectore involved which will be a very good idea. Enugu state already has the Oji power plant that used to power the Eastern region and we had lights then so its a welcome idea. Let each state figurwe out how to best provide electricity for its citizens. we have good governors like Amaechi, Obi, Sullivan, Uduaghan, Fashola, with good ideas and potentials to move their states forward but lack of autonomy and too much authority in the center makes it harder for them.

PoliticsRe: Ohaneze Throws Its Weight Behind Jonathan by udezue(m): 5:59pm On May 15, 2010
Katsumoto basically thinks that by telling us that there will be hatred and harrassment towards the Igbo and Biafrans if Biafra succeeds hence we should drop the idea because of fear. Well Katsumoto should know that the hatred and harrassment exists already so what's new? Its that hate that fueled the 1st agitation for Biafra and is still the fueling agitation now the children of those who experienced the war and those born after the war but intelligent enough to see the injustice and inbalance in the system. Using FEAR or THREATS is highly ineffective since the East and IGbo in particular are way to stubborn and boisterous to subdue like that. U are basically asking us to be slave-like. Impossible.
PoliticsRe: Ohaneze Throws Its Weight Behind Jonathan by udezue(m): 5:50pm On May 15, 2010
Katsumoto, your question is not worth answering because situation in the East already can help you get the answer.
PoliticsRe: Ohaneze Throws Its Weight Behind Jonathan by udezue(m): 5:45pm On May 15, 2010
But if the Nupe or Kanuri were to ask for such I will direct them to Arewa or somewhere else. Biafra to me is about justice, fairness, right to self determination and African pride. Only Nigerians full of inferiority complex are threatened coz they don't us to prove them wrong.
PoliticsRe: Ohaneze Throws Its Weight Behind Jonathan by udezue(m): 4:57pm On May 15, 2010
Ndu chuks, who told you that majority og Igbo ppl are outside Igbo land? Igbo people are ver big in population hence u can find in large numbers outside Igbo land but how does that stop or enhance the agitatiomn for Biafra. You talk about inter ethnic / racial marriages automatically stops the idea of Biafra but it doesn't. The problem with people like you is that everything to you completely tribal. I can be married to a Yoruba even a Hausa and still want Biafra. I have family who married Yoruba and even Hausa-fulani but guess what my uncles fought well in Biafra. Our multi ethnic background of Igbo, Itsekiri, Ijo, Efik, Yoruba, is not a reflection of what Nigeria is like nor its government system hence ur argument is a waste. Its like saying that because many French, Portuguese, Spanish, English have intermarried they must be one country. Its about compartibility. I have said before that if the Igala and Idoma even want to be part of Biafra I will welcome the idea with open heart.
PoliticsRe: Kaduna On Red Alert As Christian Prepares To Take Over by udezue(m): 4:14pm On May 15, 2010
Gone are the days when the Igbo turned the other cheek. From Kaduna, Onitsha, Aba, Akaluka Kano riots, etc the younger generation are saying enough so if the Hausa know what is good for them the won't start any trouble in Kaduna knowing damn well the Igbo will get drawn into it. Currently in Plateau state they have been very careful in keeping their bdy fight between them and the Berom in mainly Berom villages not Jos city where other ethnic groups might be forced to side with the Berom and finish them off.
