The name Biafra was suggested by an Ijo man, Frank Opigo so quit spreading ur stup!d idea that Biafra was an Igbo project. Yes Igbos were majority. I know Kalabari ppl who have told me their great-grand mothers are Igbos sef so its not a damn secret or a taboo. If there is no link btwn Kalabari and their neighboring Igbo communities then how could there be any marriage or are u gonna tell us that Kalabari raided those Igbo communities for wives? Riverine communities including the Igbo ones have always had a tradition of marrying upperland Igbos from areas like Umuahia so there has to be a link. Whether u turn Kalabari by force or choice does not erase your DNA. Igbos who married your people also brough with them their culture and influenced the Kalabari they married. No one totally letz go of their language and culture especially when proximity is so close. It was marriage not slavery and even slaves influence. The Igbo migrants and slaves turned Opobo and Bonny islands into Igbo outposts. Igbo language and culture is dominant in those areas.
