Dear VO,
I just called your office but you closed at 1.30pm.
If one filled may 20th instead of June 20th for intended date of travel on ds-160 and thinking of going for interview June 5th. Interview not yet scheduled.
What's the best way to rectify the date. I feel is dumb saying i want to travel may 20th while I will be interviewing in June.
How do I correct it? Fill a new ds-160 or call d embassy?

2ndly,
What if I filled lag in my ds-160 but want to interview in Abuja, is it possible? Or must you interview in Lagos.

just had a change in schedule and Abuja will be more convenient .
Thank you.

Dear VO,
I made a mistake filling may 20th as my intended date of travel instead of June 20th on my DS-160. I have not scheduled an interview yet.
Can I call your office to correct the mistake since I can't access my submitted ds-160 form?
Please, what's best to do?
Thank you.

You just see my famous name and go off shouting and ranting.
I do not know if it is my masculine power or my riches that you are jealous of.
I have enough wives at the moment serving my needs so I can not take you on whatever bride price you are offering.

I will continue to offer factual advice to people.
Just because it is not coated in sugar, and only good news, it will probably continue to irritate you.(I don't really care!)
The world is not sugar sweet and some people need things stated plainly. These are not insults so grow up and face real life.
But to be frank I can not be bothered with your petty bickering.
Lol! I know your type. Unfortunately, I am done with you cos you don't even an insight to your problem.i believe I will be wasting my energy and time trying to help you out of this your psychosocial ish' and yes, I am a licensed psychiatrist . Samething on Dubai,USA student visa thread and many others. He talks as if he his Alpha and omega of saints.

Was opportune to meet a mutual friend of his and mine sometime ago in US,he his also a nairalander, when he gave me download of this worry359,na so I open mouth.

PS : Not that am in support of the linaluv guy,Nairaland is a forum in which different kind of people express their mind, intention or what they are passing through,is left for those who know better to advise them, and is also left to those who ask questions to obey or not.

Why on earth will you tell someone thunder of fire to burn him!

@worry359,from now henceforth, caution your replies to forumites post,be guided!
Hmm, he's a guy? Thought na woman o.
He sounds really silly, rude and bitchy.
I hope he behaves from now henceforth . Its optional to comment or advice someone. It's not by force.
LadyG,Chloe,Benny and a host of other mature peeps bn here doing a good job and not insulting people. Even in the wierdest Situation.
Am sure the guy that wants to marry his grandma knows his slim chances of getting a visa but you don't have to say 'thunder fire him" and a host of other rude comments he's made in the past.
Mind your work o Mr Worry.

But thunder fire will burn him.
Hey worry359, I think you are unnecessarily trying so hard to be noticed. You can pass ur 2cents to someone without necessarily sounding stupid.
I have read few pages here and you keep sounding off.
You don't need to insult someone to make a statement.

We are all adults and should behave as one.

I think the problem of running background checks in Nigeria is due to the fact that we don't have accurate data collection system, our response time is poor and generally everyone just does what he or she likes like an headless chicken. The US also believe even those in government offices, banks and agencies are conspirators which is true.... So why waste your time to still get a doctored report or claim confirmed?

But for the US, even myself I'm always in awe of how soon and fast they respond to your emails or complaint when in correspondence with any US organization. It's a norm. UK just do the check only when they consider you for the visa if they don't they just outrightly deny you. It's painstaking for them but it's a small country with lesser applicants compared to the US.
Beny,Chloe,LadyG, Make una kukuma begin run non-immigrant consultation office.
I feel you all and everyone is making major sense.
Thank you for that.

I guess the check stuff is random cos I did not get a call when I applied for my parents .

I wanted us all to have a cool easter but time is running fast . I never knew easter was 27th until yday. Thought easter is always in April.

Though , it's like vacation for them plus my parents cos they will be spending 4-5 weeks except my sis that will be spending 2 weeks max.

My parents have visa already.

Should I go ahead with this Friday 18th for thier interview date or postpone it to a later date to give room for the "check". Payment was made yday at GTB and Ds-form was completely filled today.
Yes or Nah?

Thank you my people

I think background checks are conducted no matter how close the date you fill your ds160 and schedule your interview date e no matter, and I think it is conducted at random, you don't expect them to say yes we conduct background checks na they can't divulge all that information, i'm saying background checks are conducted based on a friend that was interviewed and was granted background checks were conducted and he got appointment 4 days to the date he filled ds160 pretty close
Chloe's, please break it down.
Your friend got an interview date 4 days after filling ds-160?
Was he granted?

Hmmm. Now l be honest. I know background checks are conducted. But without being a staff of the embassy I can't speak for how and the time frame of these checks.
But hey! Who knows? Maybe u should pick a later date. Anything that could help is gOod. Though please this is just my opinion based on whimsy and no facts.
Shebi na u be the klegically babe ? cheesy
Lol, I be legit o. Which state you dey again. I see your snow pishure sometime ago.

So you think, they should shift it at a later date? Like what time frame?

@Beni,ladyguin..,Chloe and all the good contributors of this great thread.Biko dalunnuó!

So my siblings paid yesterday and filled thier DS-160 form online and want to choose this Friday (18th)as interview date since it is available for scheduling.
Mind you they are filing for B1/B2 for vacation hols.
Now, a friend advised them to put it out by one month at least or 3 months cos if you pick a very closeby date for interview after just filling ds-160, it does not give the VO time enough to do backgroung check on both invitee and invited lol. That it may affect approval.

Please, is this true?
What are your thoughts and experiences on scheduling interview dates as a 1st time traveller.

I am here legally and a citizen and I am the one inviting them.

Kenya happens to be the regional hub for many Multinationals/NGOs/Foundations and that attracts many nationals. Outside the numbers of Nigerians working in these organizations there are whole lot into business. I will always prefer Nairobi to Lagos where l grew up as it provides so much ease for me it terms of travelling and my love for agriculture.
Yea, that's right.
I wish you you goodluck in your hustle. I will be checking ur blog in a bit. I can see that in your signature.

I am based in Nairobi and must confess Kenyan businesses are good in packaging spices. I was shocked to see uziza seeds packaged in 50g packs for an equivalent of N160. Indian-Kenyans own most of the spice businesses as Indians themselves are spiced-meals loving people.
Oh wow!
Yes Indians and Pakistanis are master of spices especially garlic and ginger.
How is Kenya? Do you like reside there?
That's strange. Nigerians are all over the globe. Wetin carry you go Kenya?
Just curious

Is it advisable to buy food spices from Alibaba? They are curry, thyme, parsley, nutmeg etc
Most of the sellers on Alibaba are in India or Pakistan!
I want to buy in bulk and then resell in smaller sizes(repackaged).
Is this a good leap?
Anybody done this before?
What are the challenges?

Please advice, so I don't waste money .i am also gonna buy sealing machines from alibaba.
What do you think?
Do I need Nafdac no for something in small scale for now?

I plan on buying like a a drum size for each spice.(curry, thyme, nutmeg, parsley, cinnamon) huh huh huh wink

Thank you.

I do not know about Alibaba but l do know that packaging of spices into smaller packs of 50g and 100g is lucrative because am always drawn to the spice section when l drop by at the supermarket. From black pepper (uziza), cinnamon, turmeric, coriander to many others.
Thank you pavore. Where are you located? You seem to know spices well. You must like spicy food.

Take ur time to do a market survey here first.
Meet market women to know how much they get each from their sources, how much they sell, their gains.
Then check the price of urs overthere, get an idea of the shipping rate and other landing expenses you may think of. Add it together. Then, calculate the cost price with the shipping price. Do ur calculations of selling the content of each drums to see if it pays.

If i were u. I'll make sure my calculations will be such that the market women will see my source as a mouth watery deal source for easy penetration into the market for me cos they've their source already.

Best of lucks.
Yes, you are correct.
I am on market survey already.just waiting for a fit back from my manager.

Anyone else ? Any suggestions/ideas

Kennymann, nailed it. That is exactly what I have asked to be done.
