Politics / Re: Tell Rochas To Be Reasonable For Once If He Truely Loves Imo! by udoagwu: 10:28am On May 05, 2011
Rochas should remain calm, and wait for the results of the supplementary elections to be announced. Going about spreading propaganda does not speak well of him. If he truly won the first election like he is claiming, then he should not be so sacred about the supplementary elections to be held. it looks like a case of acecepting defeat before the fight.

We do not need distractions about who he is, Rochas is the man that won the Imo state Gubernatorial elections in 2011 and waiting to be sworn in as the Governor. He has a very popular mass appeal amongst the states citizens cut across all age strata. He is very humane, helpful and humble and treats all people equally with respect without looking at status. He is touted also as the most likely Igbo man to be Nigerias president, He also has huge follower ship in the North, South and West.
It is very clear you lack ideas on how to express yourself, mind you Rochas did not win any election, Rochas has never won any election, it amazes me that you can spew such false information in a forum like this, I no you just registered but that is not an excuse for your outright falsehood. Until the winner is pronounced by INEC, then we can say soso person won the election. And you saying that Rochas is loved and popular, GOOsh, is that your Idea of a good leader are those the things that make someone credible. Pls think well.

All these have been disturbing my head of late but thanks for posting this thread. we've heard a lot from Rochas, firstly he said he wants only 1 tenure, later he said if he doesn't rescue Imo in 3-4 years then we have to give him another chance. He also said he would give free education at all levels, then imoliotes asked him how does he intend to do that? the only thing he said without explaining was that "it's possible with Imo state allocation". Then i wonder how does he intend to govern Imo when ordinarily he couldn't convince us based on his vision for Imo state. past experience has taught me that people with no clue can't lead and if eventually he becomes(God forbids it) the governor, it will be a case whereby he sits on the throne while others do the directing and the governing of the state. Imolites be wise and support Ikedi ohakim for continuity and good governance
Thanks for the insight, we need more men like you, who can speak the truth when it matters.
Politics / Who Really Is Rochas? by udoagwu: 4:19pm On May 04, 2011
Everyone is speaking about Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha, but deep down within us do we really know this man Rochas, it is not about saying he will give free education at all levels, has he been asked how he intends to achieve it, what exactly does he know about governance, what major political office has he held before, from what business did he acquire so much wealth, why have we not seen him stand with his wife like Goodluck and Dame Patience or Ikedi and Chioma Ohakim, Barack and Mitchelle Obama, or does he not have a wife? So many more questions trouble me and i am sure we have these fears within us , but are just too scared to ask. The devil you know is better than the angel you don't know, Lets be wise in choosing. One decision you take now can make or mar you future.continuity is the pathway to progress. Godbless you all.

Politics / Re: Desperate Ohakim Pays Surprise Visit To Araraume by udoagwu: 1:25pm On May 04, 2011
Hmmmm. Interesting argument but it raises questions that have not really been answered in this country. Should the zoning agreement (a PDP thing mostly) be held even when the current holder of office is under-performing? Some will say that he has had his four years and little to show for it so let him go.
Besides it is funny that this appears to be the main point for which Ohakim seeks reelection; not because he wants to continue and build upon a lasting legacy of meaningful development but just so that the zoning agreement be honored.
Yes you are right in some parts, but Ohakim is seeking re-election to complete his MEGA projects not for the sake of zoning. He undertook  some projects which could not be completed under four years due to funds and many distorting hindrances from the opposition, Remember that ROME was not built in a day, It took consistent progress on a defined objective, which is the same thing Ohakim is doing here in IMO. Thats why he needs to be re-elected, to continue the good work. Continuity is the pathway to progress and development.

Ararume are you ready to dance with the 'devil'?
I really don't know what is happening to young people these days, I don't know who you are calling the devil, but i think nairaland is a forum where intelligent discussions take place, if you were clueless about what to comment on, it would have been better you remained silent. Zoning in the Nigerian context is meant to prevent marginalization and if it works for us i don't see anything wrong in it. If Araraume and Ohakim can put aside differences and come together, it means we are moving forward as a people, it means change is taking place .It should be something we celebrate not criticicize.

@Emmy You mentioned something about giving Rochas a chance, experience has told us that newly elected Governors always start new projects while re- elected Governors continue from where they left off, we all know that the latter brings more good for the state. Ohakim has done well, and needs to do more, not everybody will agree to this, because even when the aptitude test for the 10,000 jobs was taken not everyone passed. Governance is not an easy thing to do,you cannot reachout to all no matter how you try. Ikedi Ohakim has an unfinished mandate and he needs the support of the people to achieve this, this is my advice, instead of us fighting each other, let us come together, so we can achieve greatness to together. the rewards will be celebrated collectively. If you claim that all said about ohakim are propaganda and lies how come GEJ's wife was pleading on his behave. Why were you paid spammers pleading during your Easter spam or will you deny again.
What is it? the people you want to democratically govern said no. Why are you imposing your self on them. Is it by force?
This ohakim selfish xter has endangered 2 silly boys like you who thumb printed about 50,000 thousand ballot to be used as aguta result. These boys are in police net waiting for their fate yet somebody is still here singing a bird songs for a reckless leader.

We have forgiven ohakim with one condition, which is dethrone or rejection. When God forgave Satan, he dethroned him and sent him on an exile to God knows where. But nobody is saying kill ohakim, we are all saying ohakim leave us alone.
Running from pillar to post just to be re elected cannot work for him in Imo State. He may try to rig his way in but it won't work because the voice of people is the voice of God.
Give Rochas that Chance you are asking so that imo will Be Good again. period.

Under 4 years Ohakim achieved what was unachievable under 8years, Experience they say is the best teacher. Imo state needs a man with experience to Govern her, Imo state does not need a man who will start from the scratch,we need continuity in developments and inplementation of plans already set, we need to move forward as a people, we need to be at par with our peers in other states, to achieve this we need a man with credible experience, of all the aspirants for the position as governor, Governor Ikedi Ohakim is the perfect man for the Job. we all know this, let us not allow negative propaganda cloud our reasoning,Let us face the facts and be objective and finally lets choose wisely. Godbless Imo.
Politics / Dethroned Eze Ohanwe To Ohakim Forgive Me by udoagwu: 12:57pm On Apr 14, 2011
Dethroned Eze Ohanwe to Ohakim Forgive me

The dethroned Traditional Ruler of Isiama Autonomous Community in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, Dr. Oliver Ohanwe has swallowed his words and made a volt face to support the man who brought him down from the royal stool to the detriment of his long-time friend, Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume.
In a release confirmed to be signed by Dr. Oliver Ohanwe and made available to Nigerian Horn, the repentant former traditional ruler, tendered an unreserved apology to the governor, Chief Ikedi Ohakim for the pains and embarrassment he might have caused him in the past through his conduct.
Dr. Ohanwe also stated categorically that he shall henceforth remain steadfast in his resolve to not only support the administration of Governor Ohakim, but to also shun all acts that are capable  of soiling the reputation of the people of Isiala Mbano Local Government Area in particular and Okigwe Zone in general.
His words: ‘I call on all my political associates who might have been misled in the past through acts of omission or commission committed  by me to please overlook the past as we turn into more patriotic citizens to work for the peace, progress and stability of Okigwe zone,  nay Imo State”.
According to the statement, the former royal father who was humiliated by governor Ohakim in 2008, when he dethroned him as traditional ruler of his community stated that he has align himself completely with the stand of the political leaders and traditional rulers of the zone that governor Ikedi Ohakim remain the only Okigwe zone candidate that should enjoy the support of the zone regarding the April 26th governorship election in the state.
Dr. Ohanwe in the statement therefore called on Chief Ifeanyi Araraume, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) governorship candidate and other governorship candidates   from Okigwe zone to withdraw from the contest immediately and join hands with rest of Imo people to ensure a resounding victory for governor Ohakim’s re-election.
He however emphasized that Okigwe zone are proud of Ikedi Ohakim who he maintained has shown an uncommon sense of    mission in the four years he has been on the saddle as governor of Imo State.
Dr. Ohanwe the statement further stated, congratulated the Senator-elect of Okigwe zone, Ambassador Mathew Nwagwu and his brother, Hon. Chikwem Onuoha, the House of Representatives member-elect for Okigwe North Federal Constituency for their victory at the recently held National Assembly.
He finally stated “I join my kith and kin in the zone in insisting that the subsisting Imo character of Equity, to which I am a signatory and as such, the current attempt by Rochas Okorocha, an Orlu zone indigene, to rubbish the understanding in pursuit of personal ambition remains an affront to the collective integrity of the entire people of Imo State. If allowed, the consequences will be detrimental not only to Okigwe zone but also to Owerri zone”.
Politics / Imolites In Diaspora Support Ohakim’s Re-election by udoagwu: 5:21pm On Apr 08, 2011
Imo indigenes in diaspora have expressed their commitment to work towards the re-election of Governor Ikedi Ohakim as the Governor of Imo state for a 2nd term.
The Imo indigenes from different walks of life in Europe and America made their position known when they called on the Director of Communications, Ohakim 2011 Campaign Organization, Sir Angus Oguike.
The diasporans who anchored their decisions on what they described as excellent performance of Governor Ohakim in his first tenure despite distractions, enjoined Imo people to join hands to give Chief Ikedi Ohakim a return ticket.
They also maintained that their decision to support Governor Ohakim was predicated on that he has the constitutional responsibility to relinquish power after his tenure as opposed to other contenders to the post.
The diasporans recalled that Imo people ignored all the minces as associated with the Achike Udenwa administration and gave him uninterrupted two tenure as Governor, and observed that to do otherwise as the present circumstances will amount to denial of the expectations and aspirations of the people of Owerri zone.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation Dr. kelvin Adomata, told Sir Oguike that the diasporans were fascinated by Ohakim in Imo State-adding that his accomplishment were overwhelming. He therefore enjoins the people to work towards the realization of Governor Ohakim’s 2nd term bid.
Responding, Sir Angus Oguike, the Director of communications, Ohakim 2011 Campaign Organization, appreciated them for the sacrifice they had been making to show solidarity with the Governor.
Sir Angus intimated them that Governor Ohakim has achieved over 85% of the strategic programmes he initiated 4 years ago in Imo state adding that almost all the segments- of his 14 point Agenda has been touched.
He expressed satisfaction that Governor Ohakim has been- able too achieve more than ant previous administration within the same time frame.
Sir Oguike therefore enjoined them to move into their various communities to drum support for Governor Ohakim’s re-election.
Politics / Imo Opposition And The Politicization Of Free Education by udoagwu: 5:37pm On Apr 07, 2011
I have observed the politicization of the issue of free education of governorship aspirants for Imo state April 2011 guber polls. I am however no surprised by the outpour of emotions by the challengers of the incumbent governor His Excellency Chief Ikedi Ohakim because it is common for aspirants to political office to promise free education to the citizenry, probably to confuse the feeble minded among us. In reality however only few give a deep thought to know indeed if the promise to give free education to the citizens at all level is realizable.
Those I have in mind in this essay are Chief Rochas Okorocha and Senator Ifeanyi Araraume. These men have been quoted in different fora boasting to make education free at all level of education for the people of the state if they were made governor. The case of Chief Rochas is worthy of special note here. He has failed to research or make a finding or know the required statistics that ought to inform his view in this regard. In other to arrive at an articulate program for the education sector a serious aspirant to the office of governor ought to inquire into the monthly revenue income of Imo state before announcing to make free education free at the primary and secondary levels. Chief Okorocha did not also stop there, he went ahead yet again without statistics to promise that Imo State University would pay a quarter of what they are are paying presently. I must state at this juncture that I am not surprised that the challengers are the ones making this spurious claim. There is a popular saying that what an old man sees while sitting down, the young man cannot see even if he climbs to the highest point of the mountain. This saying aptly describes the proposal of Governor Ohakim for the education sector when compared, that of his challengers.
In the 21st century Imo, the middle class is growing hence the demand for qualitative education. Does it baffle the Ohakim traducers that even at the current fee being paid by pupils in our public secondary schools the school enrolment have continued to drop, whereas the situation is completely different in the private schools.
I am witness to the burden Governor Ikedi Ohakim had for Imo prior to his enthronement as Governor in 2007.
Like everybody is feeling about him today, he firmly believed he could do more magic when he was aspiring and yearning for an opportunity to serve as Governor of Imo state. Upon assumption in 2007, Governor Ohakim no doubt learnt that you may want to change everything in a second; your vision gets limited or hindered by paucity of funds. The funds are scarce while the needs are enormous.
To make an impact therefore demands consistent planning with the expectation that a sound educational policy will yield great dividend at the ripeness of time.
It will be foolhardy for any person to ever contemplate that free education in our secondary school system will be to the benefit of Imo people. I finished Senior Secondary School without being an economics teacher. No thanks to free education. Because it goes for a fee close to free education government has the trouble trying to balance the demand for tutorial staff to the high wage bill and its attendant burden to the income of the state. Education is just one sector of the state’s economy. There are capital projects to attend to.

Politics / Oganihu Mbaise Adopts Ohakim/onwuliri Ticket by udoagwu: 4:50pm On Apr 06, 2011
The Ohakim/Onwuliri joint ticket for the return to Douglas House come 2011 has continued to receive widespread endorsement across all spectrums Of Imo State.
The Oganihu Mbaise socio- cultural Organization, PortHarcourt, im a letter addressed to Gov. They thanked the Governor “for fishing out this beloved, intelligent, hardworking, and respectful and above all, God fearing daughter of Mbaise to strengthen” his ticket in the governorship election, assuring him that Mrs. Onwuliri is “a very credible lady who will obviously add value to the Ohakim/Onwuliri ticket”.

Politics / Owerri People Will Vote Ohakim- Amajirionwu by udoagwu: 2:10pm On Apr 06, 2011
The Imo State People’s Democratic Party, PDP Publicity Secretary, Chief Blyden Amajirionwu has said that Owerri people will vote massively for Governor Ikedi Ohakim in the fourth coming election for Ohakim because Owerri zone is running out of patience to bring the Governor of Imo state come 2015.
Amajiorionwu said this in Owerri while interacting with journalists. According to him, the only person that is restricted from continuing on power after 2015 is Governor Ikedi Ohakim.
He noted that if any person takes power, whether he is from Okigwe zone or not, the person is empowered by the constitution to rule for eight years.
Said he “The reason why Owerri people must vote Sir Ikedi Ohakim is that he is the only person that will hand over in 2015 and Owerri people have resolved to vote no other person than him”.
Amajirionwu added that governor Ohakim has done wonderfully well to be re-elected for second tenure.
The PDP publicity secretary urged Owerri people to vote governor Ohakim and ensure they protect their votes to the last point because votes must surely count in this election.
He frowned at the way which political opponents have resolved in using blackmail and propanganda as a campaign tool. He asserts that it is only God who enthrones and dethrones, adding that no man, no matter his strength and wealth can dethrone one enthroned by God.
In the same vein, Amajiorionwu advised youths not to yield to the pressure by political thugs. He noted that this was the time Imolites will choose a leader that will enhance their living standards.
Politics / Rochas Out To Destabilize Imo by udoagwu: 11:07am On Apr 06, 2011
Imo state government last Thursday reacted angrily to the unruly behaviour of supporters of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, alleging that the politician wants to destabilize the state. The government also warned Owelle Okorocha to refrain from engaging in further breech of public peace in his own interest.
Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Nze Elvis Agukwe issued the warning while reacting to the blockage of major roads last Thursday by hoodlums suspected to be sympathetic to Okorocha. He dismissed as tenuous the claims by Okorocha and he paid N8m to hire the stadium for his rally on that fateful day. “Let him bring out the person whom he paid to. Government had already scheduled the use of that place that day, so nobody could have granted him permission, he said”.
Nze Agukwe also dismissed as claims by the APGA candidate that he paid 100,000 to Umuororonjo youths for the use of the Township staduim, Owerri. According to him, “the school rests with the Education Authourity and not any youth. So he went to the wrong channel”.
The commissioner noted that the action of Owelle Rochas just confirmed that he is not interested in the governorship but just to destabilize the state.
Said he,”Rochas has told us that he is more of a president than a governor and that Imo is too small for him.Our advice is that he should leave us alone because Imo is too big for us”.
Nze Agukwe disclosed that Okorocha had been desperately seeking ways of confronting Governor Iked Ohakim, and expressed happiness that the governor has demonstrated maturity on the issue.
“I thank God that we have a mature and humane person like Ohakim as a governor, because Rochas has been seeking cheap publicity if the governor responds to his provocation “he submitted.
The commissioner atrrributed what he described as Okorocha’s frustration to the sudden realization that he won’t be governor of Imo state.
“After all the showmanship, Rochas now knows that he can’t win. That is why he wants to turn Imo to Jos north were he resides”, Nze Agukwe alleged.
Politics / Orji Youths Drum Support For Ohakim by udoagwu: 10:52am On Apr 06, 2011
The youths in Orji autonomous community in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State have expressed their determination to support and vote for the re-election of Governor Ikedi Ohakim come April 16th.
Addressing journalists at his home in Umukehi Orji, last week, Hon. Sunny Onyekuru, the apex youth chairman insisted that Orji youths will stop at nothing to ensure that Governor Ohakim is re-elected to finish the good works he initiated.
He added that Orji community see it as a sacred duty to vote for Gov. Ohakim because of the presence of dividends of democracy in Orji community.
Hon. Onyekuru maintained that come April 16th, Gov. Ohakim will emerge victoriously because of his people-oriented projects, policies, and programmes, pointing out those Gov. Ohakim track records will speak for him during election.
According to him, “The youths of Orji community have taken a united stand and that is to vote for Gov. Ohakim.
Our reasons are hinged on the fact that it is only Gov. Ohakim’s administration that remembered Orji people, the dualization and beautification of Orji road, street lights, now there is on-going construction of fly-over in Orji community, and many more”.
He used the opportunity to appeal to tenants in Orji community that are not comfortable with the Orji youths position to travel home and vote during elections to avoid embarrassing Orji community.
Politics / Rochas Thugs Stone Obasanjo, Ohakim's Convey by udoagwu: 1:35pm On Apr 01, 2011
Horn gathered that but for a show of restraint on the part of Owerri, the Imo state capital yesterday almost erupted in mayhem as the convoy of former president Olusegun Obasanjo and Governor Ikedi Ohakim were stoned at Okigwe Road roundabout by thugs from the camp of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Imo state guber candidate, Chief Rochas Okorocha.
Weekend Nigeran Horn gathered that but for a show of restraint on the part of Ohakim who ordered his security officers not to take action, hell would have been let loose in the same manner it witnessed in last week’s clash between supporters of Action Congress Of Nigeria (ACN) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in AkwaIbom state where over 800 brand new cars were burnt after which were burnt after which the ACN guber candidate was arrested and charged with treason.
When weekend Nigerian Horn sought clarification from Imo state commissioner for Information and strategy, Hon. Elvis Agukwe, on the cause of the impasse, he declared that Chief Rochas Okorocha is not contesting for governorship of Imo state but is only out to cause anarchy in the state.
Reacting to Okorocha’s statements in a Radio Nigeria programme aired yesterday morning in which Okorocha said that the crises in Egypt is a child’s play compared to what will happen in Imo State over the elections in the state,Agukwe expressed dismay that “Okorocha is bent on causing problems in the state and has imported his thugs from Jos, Plateau state to cause mayhem similar to the recent Jos crises.
The commissioner described as infounded the allegation that Governor Ohakim suddenly shifted the date of the grand finale of his guber campaign rally just to make nonsense of Okorocha’s plan to hold rally at Dan Anyiam stadium to yesterday just to make nonsense of Okorocha’s plan to hold his rally at grasshopper’s stadium.
Said he, “The governor’s activities are published in a manifest which outlines the activities at least once a month in advance and if you see that the allegation holds no water”.
He has also described as nonsensical Okorocha’s statement that he (Okorocha)after discovering that he could not gain access to Grass Hoppers pitch at the Dan Anyiam stadium stadium, paid N100,000 (one Hundred Thousand Naira) to Owerri Munipal Council for the use of Township School to which he was also denied access.
He queried “How Can you pay money to youths for access to township school? Are the youths the authourities in charge of the school?”
One of the highlights of the political drama was when Okorocha ordered his thugs to force themselves into the Township school field despite the fact that about 50 armed police officers were stationed there.
It was also gathered that the thugs after forcing their way into the township school and running round the fiels, headed to Dan Anyiam stadium but were turned back by police officers.
Okorocha who was apparently piqued that he was denied access to Grasshoppers Pitch, old stadium which was said to have been booked and township school, finally decided to hold his campaign rally infront of Rochas Foundation Plaza near Okigwe Round about thereby blocking Okigwe and Wetheral Roads; a situation that caused traffic jam in the city for more than five hours.
Weekend Nigerian Horn also Gathered that after the Ohakim escorted former president Olusegun Obasanjo to the airport, on their way back, intelligence report revealed that the Rochas group laid ambush for the convoy at Okigwe Road roundabout, a development that caused the convoy to divert to “Akanchawa” Road in new Owerri and pass through the Assumpta road to enter Government House from the back gate through Orlu Road for peace to reign.
Said Mr. Henry Ekpe, Chief Press Secretary to Ohakim in a chat withWeekend Nigerian Horn last Night,” I commend the governor’s demonstration of statesmanship and patriotism who said he did not want another Akwa Ibom experience in Imo State”.
Efforts to reach Mrs Chioma Ogoke, Director of Publicity and Media of Okorocha’s campaign organization for comments proved abortive at the time of this report as she did not take the call.

only see a picture. A snapshot of a piece of history. It is not enough information to judge the organisation or even comparative neatness.
You on the other hand seem rather myopic. How on earth can you applaud a sitting governor for cleaning up a few square metres in a state of several thousand acres.
Is that the yardstick for deciding success in Imo state? I am no kill joy, but surely the people of the state deserve more after four years.

i only have one answer for you, kindly check Ohakim2011.com, you would see that the transformation is taking place all over the state. thanks, meanwhile you have the brain of a castrated goat (idiot).
Politics / Re: Wow! What A New Face! by udoagwu: 4:42pm On Mar 29, 2011

after four years in office as governor of a state with a multibillion naira budget, his achievement is to design a roundabout.

How impressive. I love sarcasm.

Is this how myopic you are, don't you notice the general neatness and organization of activities? all you see is the roundabout,  this is one of the busiest spots in Owerri but see the traffic flow,  This is something of worth.

Ofonagroro Calls For Ohakim's says he has shown good leadership

Former Minister of Information Walter Ofonagoro has urged Imo electorates to ensure that the state governor, Ikedi Ohakim is re-elected at the governorship election slated for next month.

Ofonagoro made the call on Tuesday during Ohakim’s campaign rally at Nwangele that witnessed massive crowed of supporters at the event.

While commending Ohakim’s focussed leadership style, he harped on the need for continuity considering the laudable projects initiated and completed by the administration, saying that there is no need to change a winning team when there is opportunity for continuity.

Ofonagoro, also an associate professor of Colombia university in the United States of America (USA) who listed some of the projects executed by Ohakim-led administration ranging from road construction, solar boreholes, solar-driven power, construction of health centres and school builings among others said the governor has performed creditably well to merit a second tenure.

‘’by my assessment as well as the assessment of my people governor Ikedi Ohakim has performed to the satisfaction of the majority and he deserves to be re-elected. There is no need changng a winning team when he still has the opportunity of another tenure, particularly since it is still the turn of his zone, Okigwe.

‘’there is visible evidence for his achievement and I know that his re-election is only a formality.we are aware of the job opportunities he has created the latest being the 10,000 graduate job which our people also benefitted from. The roads, solar boreholes, agricultural loans, solar electricity and all that which his administration executed are all testimonies of success story. He must be given another opportunity to finish what he started’’ Ofonagoro noted.

He said what is needed at the state now is to support continuity so as to guarantee consolidation of some of the projects yet to be completed, arguing that ‘’what Ikedi Ohakim has been able to achieve is commendable and deserves massive support for another tenure’’ .
Politics / My Ordeal In The Hands Of Rochas Thugs(austyn Madu, Editor, Nigerian Horn) by udoagwu: 6:28pm On Mar 24, 2011
Last week Friday, the 4th day of March,2011 at about 10am,youths from Rochas Campaign Organization numbering over 70 stormed the office of Nigerian Horn Newspapers and that of Zeek Ford Business Centre at No. 25A, Old Okigwe road, destroying everything in sight including louvers,  Alumaco doors and windows, computers and other office equipment television sets.
They also broke the windscreens of the cars parked outside, one of the cars incidentally belongs to the Weekend Editor my very self. Laptops, phones and cash were also taken away as they ransacked the office and the drawers in Nigerian Horn Complex.
The youths accosted me at the door of the office and started beating me mercilessly. I also saw them beating one stanly Nwokorie a staff of Zeek Ford Business Services.
The youths dragged me and Stanley Nwokorie to the campaign headquarters of Chief Rochas Okorocha along Okigwe road Owerri while beating us along the road.
It took the intervention Of Prince Eze Madumere, the chief of staff to Chief Rochas Okorochas to rescue us from further beating.
However one of the men walked in and gave me a slap before Prince Madumere and he pushed the  man out of his office in anger.
At the Rochas campaign Organization, I was drilled on why we wrote a story against Rochas Okorocha.
I was also asked to disclose the source of the story and how much we were paid to write the story.
Before I left the campaign organization, I was asked to write an apology or undertaking that the Nigerian Horn would publish an apology as a condition for my release from the hostage I was held.
Politics / Araraume’s Hope Dims As Key Man Quits by udoagwu: 1:04pm On Mar 23, 2011
The ambition of the gubernatorial candidate of the Action Congress Of Nigeria (ACN), Sen. Ifeanyi Araraume to take over the mantle of leadership of Imo State from May 29th this year, has been dealth a big blow with the defection of Senator Sylvester Anyanwu back to the people’s Democratic Party(PDP).
Sen. Anyanwu who is representing Imo North Senatorial Zone, over the weekend at his home town, Obowo officially dumped the ACN and pitched tent with the ruling PDP. He made it clear that, he opted to call it a quit with Sen. Araraume’s camp because, they never appreciated the value of the man they were having, pointing out that, many people joined ACN because of him, assuring that many would definetly leave because of him. The lawmaker also disclosed that, there is need to ensure that the governorship position does not leave Okigwe zone to any other zone, until 2015 when it will be the turn of the people of Owerri zone, maintaining that, though Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha is his friend, but he should not be allowed to distort the zoning process which is in existence in the state.
According to him, it would be injustice, if Orlu people should take back the governorship of Imo State and vowed never to encourage that.
