Hello everyone. I am constantly looking for Nigerians to be portrayed on my Blog www.facebook.com/nigerianheroesblog The blog aims to inspire people by telling stories of NigerianHeroes. And out of experience I know that everybody has a story to tell. So if you are a Nigerian and you just overcame a difficult situation or you achieved something that you are proud of, then please share your story with us. And with a good story you might be the next NigerianHero on my blog! |
@chibwike i tried to contact you through mail but it's like. It didn't work out. Is there any way you can contact me on nigerianheroes@outlook.com |

Come on people help me out here. Dont tell me you don't know any hero. Because if you think about it everybody is a hero in his own way. The boy that sells pure water to help his mother pay the house rent or the roadside mechanic who is able to fix almost every car with his bare hands or the old man who fought biafra war... Let me hear your stories! |
feran14:How about a real person that truely inspires you or changed your life forever?!? Anybody can be a hero, your mother, brother, friend or mentor! |
Freemanan:I was expecting a little more than that after all uf you think about it anybody can be a hero! Your mother, your brother or even your teacher?!? |
Timrho:You are totally right. And there is a good reason for that: Romance because your Partner can be your hero! Family, because a family member can be your hero! Culture, becausebasically anyone can be your hero! |

The concept of the NigerianHeroes Project is pretty simple: I want to be posting pictures of Nigerian individuals on a regular basis together with a short story about why the portrayed person is a hero. This might sound a bit strange at the beginning but if you think about it, everybody is a hero in his own way. The boy that sells pure water to help his mother pay the house rent, the roadside mechanic who is able to fix almost every car with his bare hands, the madam that wakes up early in the morning just to be able to sell her food at noon and feed her children…and so on. These portraits should put a new focus on Nigerians and show how hard working, optimistic and positive they are. Not only will this be a great way to promote the Nigerian spirit amongst Nigerians but also make a positive impact on the way the world sees Nigeria as a whole. I am sure you understand the concept already (if you don’t please do not hesitate to ask your questions). You probably have encountered many prejudices from foreigners about how bad Nigerians are, or how hopeless the future of Nigeria is. And you probably must have met many Nigerians who think that in Europe or the States everything is better than in Nigeria. Well this is the perception I want to change. So what does it take to be a volunteer? All you need to do is snap pictures of Nigerian individuals you think that are heroes and write a short text (1 to 10 lines) about why they are heroes. Then you send me those pictures including the text through either Whatssapp or Email and I will be publishing them on the NigerianHeroes blog. It is totally up to you how often you do that, of course the more regular the better for the project but since this is a volunteer Job, you are free to send me anything at all whenever you want. The link: http://nigerianheroes.tumblr.com you will give you an idea of what I am talking about. Please not that those pictures and stories are just examples. |
Dear all please if you are interested contact me directly through my email nigerianheroes@outlook.com and I will get in touch with you. Thanks |

hilaomo:This has nothing to do with attitude. We are talking about a Volunteer Job and the first thing people ask is how much money they will get for it or if they will get a new camera in return. If there is one thing about being a Volunteer that i know it's that you work for free for the sake of a higher purpose. I am looking for people who are passionate about their country and who are willing to invest few minutes of their time to help support a great project promoting Nigeria and it's people. I should be right by guessing that anybody who has Access to this Website has Access to Internet as well. And as far as i know many Nigerians already do own a Mobile Phone that has a camera. So lets not make this more complicated than necessary. We are looking for Volunteers. Please feel free to reply if you are interested or switch to another thread if you are not. |
If you have one your own if not you can use your Mobile phone. |
This is a volutneer job, so no salary paid. But it takes only few minutes of your time and has a great impact on the perception of Nigerians, so it is definately worht the while. Let me know if you are interested! |

Hi everyone I know this question may sound simple, but it is really hard to find people willing to support local NGO's in Nigeria. We are a Non Profit Organization based in Awka, Anambra State sponsoring 20 children (so far) by paying their school fees. We would like to find not only international support but also sponsors in NIGERIA but it seems to be harder to get Nigerians motivated to donate. Does anyone have experience with it? How do you recommend approaching people? Who to approach? Why do Nigerians not support local projects? Pls. Advice |
Hi eveyone I am wondering why it is so hard to raise funds for an NGO that supports children in Nigeria! We are trying all we can to include as many children as possible in our programm but without funds, there is nothing we can do. Since two years we are supporting 20 children but we are not getting any support from Nigerians. Do you have an explanation for that? Why is it hard to find sponsors and how can we move on to find support locally and nationally. Pls advice!

There is something i have once heard: If a white man sees that his neigbhour has just bought a very nice and expensive car, he will think: "what can I do to be able to drive a car like my neigbhour?" If a black man sees that his neigbhour hast just bought a very nice and expensive car, he will think: "what can i do to drive my neigbhours car" i thougth this was very interesting, and although i know that it can not be generalised, i think that there might be just a little truth in there. |
I have been there, you are right, but this time i am going with my mum, so i am more scared for her than for myself, if they keep me there, thats fine with me, i love the country ![]() i couldnt upload the pics, i dont know why, i wonder if they are to big? |
Hi everyone, i will be traveling to nigeria with my mum this summer and i am a bit worried about security. do you think it would be reasonable to get personal security (we are traveling to the east) and if so do you know any professional way to get that (police, embassy , ?) thanks for helping! |
I agree, keep your hands off his phone, in the end you have to ask yourself how much you really want to know, and you will realise that you dont want and dont need to know everything he is doing, as loong as he is treating you the way you want, giving you the attention you need and so on, i think you should leave him some privacy, as you might also like to have |
