SportsRibery Will Win Ballon D'or - Nasri by uffforum(op): 1:50pm On Oct 16, 2013
Ribery guided the Bavarians to a historic treble last season with a string of fine displays, while he has developed into his country's undisputed star player as well, after previously struggling to replicate his club form for the national team.

"Ribery has been accused of failing to show up for France, but he carries the team these days. He would be great for any team, Nasri told ultimatefootballforum.

He was already voted Uefa's Best Player in Europe and I really hope that he wins the Fifa Ballon d'Or as well. It would really be the crown on his career.

I don't know Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo personally, but I do know Franck. He has won everything he could win this year."

Argentine superstar Messi has won all three editions of the Fifa Ballon d'Or since the award's introduction in 2010.

SportsAm Ready For Ethiopian Clash - Omeruo by uffforum(op): 12:48pm On Oct 07, 2013
Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo has said he will be available for a 2014 World Cup return leg play off against Ethiopia in November.
Omeruo has made remarkable recovery from a shoulder injury and he has said he will be fit and ready to face Ethiopia in Calabar on November 16.

“Kenneth is back training with Chelsea as expected. He has also expressed full confidence he will be fit for next month’s return leg match against Ethiopia in Nigeria,” his adviser Chika Akujobi said.

“Even left to him, he says he can play on Sunday against Ethiopia in Addis Ababa! “But best to believe he will be okay for the return match.”
The 19-year-old Omeruo last featured for the Eagles during the FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil in June, when he dislocated his shoulder.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is expected to run the rule on Omeruo once he is fully fit and it is only then that a decision would be taken whether he stays back at the London club or go on loan in January.

“The signals are looking very good for Kenneth,” said offered Akujobi, who would not wish to give more details beyond that.

SportsRooney Celebrates 200 Goal Mark by uffforum(op): 9:04am On Sep 18, 2013
The forward, who appeared set to leave during the summer, scored twice at Old Trafford to help David Moyes' me get off to a perfect start in this season's Champions League
Wayne Rooney was understandably delighted after scoring his 200th Manchester United goal in Tuesday night's Champions League win over Bayer Leverkusen.

The England international opened the scoring at Old Trafford before adding a second after the break, with Robin van Persie and Antonio Valencia also on target for the Red Devils in an exciting 4-2 win.

"It's something I'm really proud of," Rooney told Ultimatefootballforum. "Delighted to be playing and scoring and it's a good result - the first game in the Champions League is always important and thankfully we got the victory."

However, the striker reacted angrily when repeatedly questioned as to whether he asked to leave the club during the summer transfer window.

"Listen I'm concentrating on my football, as I've done all summer," he stated.

"I've got my head down, I've worked hard to get myself fit and ready for the season. I'm delighted with the way I've come back, delighted I'm back playing and scoring goals.

"The fans have been brilliant, as I've said all along, the fans here have been fantastic with me and it's great the reception I get here so hopefully I can repay them with performances and goals like tonight."

Rooney could have scored a hat-trick after rounding goalkeeper Bernd Leno but could not find the target from a tight angle and admitted he was undecided as to whether to shoot or pass to strike partner Van Persie.

"I don't know, I was sort of in two minds," he explained. "I didn't know whether to shoot or Robin was there as well so I was in two minds so maybe I should've gone straight for goal but at the end of the day we got the three points which is more important."

Up next for Rooney and United in Group A is a trip to Ukraine on October 2 to take on Shakhtar Donetsk, who opened with a 2-0 win away to Real Sociedad.
