For u to understand why the west will lend us money to spend rather than technology transfer that will help revamp our infrastructure, u will need to understand the basics of international relations, national interest and capitalism.

Politics / Re: Senators Reject Tinubu's Request For Military Intervention In Niger by ugbanante: 5:37pm On Aug 05, 2023
Please oh, should Nigeria decide how another sovereign nation should rule itself?

Did the citizens of Niger make any clarion call on Nigeria to liberate them?

Is ECOWAS now the big brother with the whip?

Has the president sat down to cost this intended action?

War isn't cheap...

Simple economics: economic conditions for continuing production isn't friendly anymore.
The company will move production outside, ship in finished goods. Nigerian custom will place heavy duty on the imported drugs, the distributors pay FG and transfer the incident of heavy tax to final users ( Nigerians). Suffering continues all the way...

Foreign Affairs / Re: Niger: Junta Re-opens Borders With Neighbours, Excludes Nigeria, Benin Rep by ugbanante: 3:29pm On Aug 02, 2023
ThatCEO:
When I was in secondary school, I once participated in a debate where I supported the motion that Democracy is better than military regime.

But now, I realised the rubbish I supported.

The "bad" military regime in Nigeria built 4 solid refineries. The Democracy people ran them to comatose, they can't built a refinery, they won't allow modular refinery as it will interfere with their corruption, n they still have the nerves to clamp down on d alleged "illegal refineries" in d creeks.

I will pick military all day. Try nonsense with Niger, una go hear am. People that can't tame a pack of bandits in the bush want to enter a war with a full grown country grin

I still remember vividly the texture of concrete used to construct roads during the military era, some of the roads are still solid till date.
This democracy is really interfering with African development.

This Russian legislature de very vibrant and value-based.
While West is destroying family values, Russia is building theirs.
African leaders should copy this subject matter from Russia

I suppose what ur objective here is that u want public validation of your private life.
You heart is perhaps pricking u that something about ur personality is odd and u want to hear it loud from the public.
U got the answers, so decide what u want: to keep fighting with ur inner self or posing outside

Celebrities / Re: Policeman Slapped By Seun Kuti Is In 'Coma' - Police by ugbanante: 3:40pm On May 16, 2023
Sitwalkstand:
Let me take a different approach to this case keeping Politics and tribe apart

Seun's case must see justice to be served.

Admittedly, our police has no regard for human right and has lost confidence of the common man but to go as low as slapping a man we have worn uniform to protect us is a no no.

Seun has openly bragged about slapping police men.

If police allows this to slide, Nothing will be left of our police. You will have celebrities pouring them hot water and spiting on them.

Let's agree for a second that Seun was put in arms way. That man looks older than Seun. Why slap a man older than you, not to talk of a man with uniform backed by our constitution. That man might be someone's father, a husband to a wife. Is there anything Femi Kuti, Seun's elder brother will do that will warrant Seun slapping Femi. My answer is no. Femi will find alternative way of reporting him.

We might agree that our police goes overboard and it represents everything wrong with our system but they are not useless. Their presence is why Robbers and miscreants have not visited your homes in certain areas.

I have not said Seun is wrong or police is right.

Let justice be served and let the ruling be made public so that there will be deterrent. if not our celebrities will create a trend on who can slap our police and go scot free

I want to really say thanks for this unbiased analysis of the situation, am happy that some one can see and still speak the truth.
