We are all still waiting for this person with the ID opalu to reply, if he does not reply then to me he is a COMPLETE FRAUD and a disclaimer needs to be put on nairaland property section. The guy seems to like people who live abroad. You can see in one of his posts. He could be genuine so i will urge him to come and answer his fathers name and clarify if he is a true civil engineer as he claims coren.

Jonbosco89:
Thank you so much Mr Ugo99. I am fully discouraged of this site. A lot on this site are fake. They claimed they are Structural engineers only to discovered ordinary roadsides bricklayers are far better than them. The architects they are condemning are far better than them. They carry fake certificates up and down. I will never fall victim of their fraudulence and deceits.

ENGAGE A STRUCTURAL ENGINEER TO HANDLE YOUR FOUNDATION
Architects supervise buildings as well but their focus will be the external attractiveness and straightness of blocks etc.

Under civil engineering, we have the highway engineers, the water engineers, railway engineers and structural engineer.
For you information, a structural engineer focuses on the structural elements like the foundation, the columns, beams, slab and trusses. Whether it is for concrete or for steel.
It is painful though that so many clients focus on the external outlook only and end up giving a carpenter the work of a tailor and give a barber the work of a tailor.
Then later they start complaining that their cloths are sowed with nails and their head are cut/stitched with sewing machines.
Every professional in the building/construction industry is vital but give the right professional the work that they specialise in. And this is not something you tell everyone and his cousin to state their prices to supervise here because you will soon see N1 quote to supervise your foundation.
I am a coren-certified structural engineer

as i have some deserted plots of land the person looking after it for me can be looking after this to keep busy what needs to be done to setup someone to be looking after it

Sack farming is not linked to quality of the ground soil as the filled sacks can be placed on any surface, seen many who have their sack farms on the deckings of uncompleted buildings.

kedu my brothers and sisters

Silently reading what is going on here and i think one man (N3xt) is in the middle of it all. Is it not better for everyone to implore him to do the right thing, if there are still issues on this thread then there is something else to it.

Unless we are just all deceiving ourselves the matter is not going to go away and let us remember who is the victim and who is the perpetuator rather than just barking up the wrong tree or picking on the wrong guy.

Ka omesia

I have spent a great deal of my weekend reading up the history of what has happened between N3xt and some of his clients, even though I have great admiration for the man, there comes a time in a mans life where you have to accept that you have made a mistake. We say something in my village Okuko nyuo ahu, ana achuwa ya oso which means when a chicken mess, the ground becomes a nuisance.

For the benefit of all of us who are here to gain from this thread and so that peace can reign.

* N3xt should call a meeting with his aggrieved former clients and apologise to them in person. Some of them I think are abroad a telephone call will also work.
* All insults should stop, from all sides.
* N3xt should pay off Mr Maverick for the fake approval plan if N3xt thinks its original why did he start payment in installment. If Mr Maverick choose to take the case up Next will suffer the most. A tuoro omara o mara a tuoro ofeke o fenye ishi nohia.

get well soon. you also appear to be knowleageable contractor and i think you are based in the north

Just coming back from the hospital.... Seriously down with malaria.

Combination of concrete base and asphaltic wearing course is known as semi rigid /flexible pavement. It has its own advantage and can be more expensive than the other two.

I am not an expert in Highway engineering but most road problem result from lack of proper compaction of the subgrade, inadequate thickness of base and wearing course. These problem result from lack of proper traffic analysis which will give the designer the expected traffic that the way will carry.

Exclusive reinforced concrete is more expensive than exclusive flexible pavement but maintenence us cheaper

Hmm! I think Hajji is only disappointed that the people they left back home only ended up increasing the population without corresponding infrastructural development.

Before Hajji left, there's pipe borne water in most part of the cities except for the rural areas. But now, 89% of the country do not have access to good water.

Hajji is still in shock that Cocoa House built in 1965 still remain one of the tallest building in Nigeria after 5 decades. He's surprised that the last Dam Built in Nigeria was built in the 80s.

The situation is very sad and pathetic because he cannot get water from your place in Suleja.

What if the road needs to be dug up for repairs and will it work in areas that are water areas
abdulwastecx:

Concrete roads are form of rigid pavement different from flexible pavement (asphalt roads). These pavement are more expensive to construct but maintenance is cheaper in the long run.

The asphaltic concrete is replaced with a reinforced concrete but some of the disadvantages of this type of foundation includes the following.

1. Involve large sum to construct initially.
2. Can't be constructed in stages or use during construction, hence it required the route blocked throughout the construction phase.

Advantages
1. Little maintenance
2. Last longer and require no maintenance cost over a long period of time.

I have been reading this thread and cannot hide the fact that it is very educative. To have a elderly man or woman or whatever you classify youself as type what I read below is utter gabbage and affirms a middle aged man going through a patch.

Since you have been away this thread has been peaceful. I wish you can stay away so that we can all continue to learn.

lastpage:
I am BACK! Lastpage is back!!

I have been away from this section and Nairaland postings in general, since 16th of July! Seems like yesterday tho'.
My wifey (yes, Lastpage Madam) insisted l should 'chill-out' as according to her, l am beginning to take faceless people seriously.

Well, if there are two people whose counsel l take seriously, it's my Mother (of blessed memory) and my wife!
The Power of "Good Women" in our life! undecided

I was against her rebuttal, posted earlier but she insisted that "for the good of those who have come to respect and admire that @username" (even anonymously) l should allow her to make the rebuttal.
I concurred though l argued that she should not delete the thread as l feel it has and still doing some good to others.
Moreover, she did nothing wrong!. when you get the consent of someone to 'post on their behalf, in order to help them', you act in their capacity.

So, my Two weeks 'self-imposed moratorium' has elapsed. Madam wanted one month but l pleaded to 'allow me naah', as part of my relaxation! grin

While l was away, l noticed the RATS were having a field-day!
One even said l 'ran-away'!
grin grin
'Clowns' even said I am Brabus or my Madam is Brabus'w wife! (Brabus, if l see your face near my tent, you go hear am! grin )
Despite tens of posts on various sections of Nairaland where she has openly stated she is a woman, Lastpage's wife (in particular posts) and l have stated l am her husband (in my posts, on request where clarification was sought, as she is not a fan of the property section) some of these scallywags have said l am a woman!
One has to be very unintelligent, not to be able to say whether a poster is Male/Female, after reading about five of their post.
We would continue to use that single username, as we have always done.
We wont be like that one who was scouring for a Nigerian wife on Nairaland, on his visits to Nigeria, using a username his wife-to-be does not know, while at the same moment, the wife was arraigning a "spousal reunification" for him at the home office. undecided
That is how terrible some of these people are. undecided
Cheesux, wetin we nor go hear!

While away, I also noticed those who felt this was a "got-ya" moment and seized on it to yarn rubbish too. undecided

I also noticed that Brabus has been posting new things (He did not even bother to ask after me while l was away!
Na so life be? Et tu Brutus/Brabus? ). That is the Brabus we all yearn to see.

I also noticed that some peeps have gone to delete posts where they said they have HIV! shocked Oh-Well, we already know and the post was already quoted! grin grin
I also noticed that we have a new "Class Monitor" here. All Good, more grease to your elbow

I also noticed that, finally, we all agree to what l have been saying: Those who want to bash Builders should take it to threads specially created for that purpose....... or take the matter to EFCC who are qualified and empowered by LAW, to prosecute any allegation of Fraud.
This is why some Goats have made an enemy out of me! Simply because l refused to join them in bashing Brabus, from now till eternity.
Ofcourse, l did bash him initially and even assisted in ensuring he was refunding the cry-cry baby but after a while, l felt it was derailing a good thread.
Anyway, all good.

I also noticed that l have come to know the 'real person' behind one of the different Monikers.
You know, l did a little phone call to a friend who lives in the South/South and he in-turn did a little phone-call to the Land Registry in that side. He used the 4 coordinates of a survey plan/Approval submitted by the rat and voila!
All documentation/Approval application, e.t.c and bio-data of the person was made available.

So, if you still think you are anonymous, YOU are not! When you come into the country by year end, l would be 'informed' at the point of entry as you scan your Palli (Thats a service reserved for VIP's that you are getting, so that Escort can get ready to do their work) and MAY decide to even provide you with "security", free of charge, all the way to your house by NTA Rd, as my very good friend from N/Land.
One good turn they say, deserves another. undecided lipsrsealed
Its a small world and we need to be very careful about what we say/do online, under the guise of anonymity. undecided

Having said that, l am bound to honor the new trend here and keep this thread to strictly anything CONSTRUCTION AND BUILDING.

Brabus, l admire that iron contraption you are doing, l hope you get experts in material testing to confirm the strength of that material to withstand the intended load?
Remember, "those who are about to be roasted, ..... dont bath with petrol". undecided

I wont revert to this particular post again, (except l am compelled to).

"Lies, if repeated so often,... and left unchallenged, may assume an air of truth".
