Oil light blinking is related to sludge in engine, failing oil pump. This is an engine issue. Try check to avoid issues

Truth is there. The mech that set the P0016 code suggested opening the oil sump and checking the filter. I will address this in my next oil change. Thanks a bunch Chief.

Is the car moving well now? Is the gear issue still there ?

Yes there's improvement. The only issue that's major to me is the abnormal revving I experienced if the AC stays for long in the afternoon, causing the oil light indicator to be blinking. If I off the AC, the car will normalize. Don't know what's causing that?

How far, what's the latest update on your car. As the problem be fixed?

Thanks Chief for quoting. I resolved code P2716 last Friday. An electrician found out that one of the connector pin in the harness of the gear connector was rusted. He changed the pin(connector), voila code is gone.

For P0037, I have changed O2 sensor still no show. I'm tired of ladipo guys. When I rest small, I will face it

I can imagine how you feel, but the truth is, he was trying to revive the solenoids by clicking them with the battery incase they were stuck.
A competent engine mechanic at Ajao has corrected all the faults in the engine and the P0016 code is gone, remaining the P2716 and P0037.

I will try another gear guy!

Thank you bro

As suggested, get the car scanned.
Check if your brakes are binding.
Check for low tyre pressures.
Inspect and clean your air filter.
Check if you have a manual AC compressor.
Finally inspect the tip of your exhaust, it will tell if your car is burning just petrol, or oil as well to know the state of the engine.
How can one check if the compressor is manual?

Your car is most likely sluggish because of the shift solenoid code.
For the timing codes, you might need to confirm the timing is right and while at it check to see if your cam sprocket has been tampered with.
Thanks Boss. You're a good man!
Yesterday I took it to an acclaimed rewire, he drained the gear oil, open the sump, used my battery either to be 'sparking' the solenoid or reactivating it till my battery died. After that, the code is still there, the worst is I noticed the sump was not well sealed this morning. My battery dead. Very annoying process. Roadside mechanic go kpai person for this country.
For the timing,I will take it today for checks

Are you sure the compressor is not about to pack up? Did you work on your AC recently? If it happens only when you put on the AC then you have to visit an AC technician to look into that compressor.

The car ac was recently fixed

My people, I still need help on my 06 Sienna issues(P0012 and P2716). I need a good mechanic around Isolo/Okota axis.
I need this camshaft and gear solenoid issue sorted out.

The car moves sluggishly especially when AC is on. Difficult to climb small slope.

Please come to my aid my Ogas

Drain the transmission fluid if the owner has changed it before.

Replace same quantity that was removed with Toyota WS

Anyone here selling Toyota WS

Hello my Ogas,
Please help me recommend a good transmission oil for 2006 Sienna. I will do a solenoid swap/replacement/work on the transmission and will appreciate if a good transmission fluid is recommended here. Thank you in advance
Car Talk / Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by ugreat(m): 3:10pm On Feb 05
Please what transmission oil would you recommend for 06 Sienna? I will be sorting out Solenoid D code in the transmission and that will require transmission oil change.

Try and reach out to gazzuzz or autologic, they will tell you what to do
.

Gazzuzz said he's no longer servicing cars, autologic is out of the country atm. My search for an automobile workshop continues in Lagos.

From my little read up, it's saying changing Solenoid D under the gear. If this is possible, do I still need to change the whole gear? I'm not using the Sienna for trans but for moving my fam and maybe a travel to the East once a year

I appreciate bro. I'm around Isolo Lagos. Oga Gazzuzz seems more into sales these days🙂. Autologic has been a bit quiet. Will try reach out those men and see how it goes

You are supposed to test drive it and see for yourself.

The car gearbox is about N700k with oil and installation cost.

That P2716 code shows it all.

Again, maybe a 10pin gear has been installed instead of 13pin.

Terrible news I feared to hear. Well, I went with a brother mechanic who drove it and confirmed it's okay before I paid. Well I see it's now my cross to bear.

How do I find out it's 10pin instead of 13pin gear that was installed? I need to start sorting out the car. My cross to carry 🙂

Car Talk / 2005 Toyota Sienna Fault Codes by ugreat(m): 12:01pm On Jan 20
As subject refers, my Sienna throws the codes below- P0016, P0037, and P2716.

The car doesn't accelerate well and when slowed down finds it difficult(takes time) to pick up. I also observed that the fuel consumption is high. A mechanic said I should change fuel pump and filter.

Please gurus, kindly advise me. Thank you

not sure i can manage that, a lot of people here use camry, and and corolla but i dont want to go toyota route because of price, just asking if civic can handle the road that this ones handle

Your budget can get you a Honda CRV with has better ground clearance considering your concern for your road. With some small maintenance, it will serve you for a while. I used the 2000 CRV for years and lower maintenance. It served me very well

Be carful with the transmission oil oh.

If the car drive smoothly. Ask the owner the fluid he was previously using. Drain 2 liters from it and top it with 2 liters. Draining all can cause serious problem.

For now the transmission selects well and I'm afraid touching it. At same time, not having a record of the oil is not too cool for me

Drain oil,do an engine flush then start keeping records, note that you have to ask the owner the weight of oil he was using before continuing.

Owner doesn't know Sir...he was just guessing. He's the type that drops with mechanic and come back to carry it

Greetings my Ogas,

I got a Nigerian used 2005 Toyota Sienna. However, the owner does not keep track of oil change/servicing. I do keep this records. Please what do you advise I do? Should I drain the engine oil inside and fill with another to start a new record on the car? I need same advice on the transmission oil.

Thanks in anticipation

Chief,
I got a new '05 sienna without history of car servicing- engine and gear oil change.

Please I want to start a recorded service on the car, what do you advice? Should I drain the oils and refill? If yes, what oil do you suggest? Thanks
