Hi all, I'm a student from Federal polytechnic Oko. I'm doing a research for my project on why Jean wears are rarely sewn in Nigeria so I need your help.
1) What are the reasons for most Jean wears being imported? Capital, skills or stigma.
2) Is there a factory/firm that produces Jean wears in Nigeria and it's location for face to face research, thanks.

Pls epp a friend.

That doesn’t stop me from giving for other causes still. Last week gave a girl that I work with $50, she had a baby. I was very tight on cash that day but just gave her. Within same period a client left exactly $50 for me. I’m not saying it works like a charm or juju method. But I knew it was because I sacrificed that money. My body was dead to itself when I dropped that $50. I needed that money for something that day but forfeited it. I actually returned the $50 back to the client that left it. My work place policy states you can’t receive money from customers. But it was a lesson for me.
My friend this is so so true, I've experienced it and was so shocked.
When I recieved my first salary, I went to the market straight from work to buy my parents gift just to show love to them. I went for wrist watch, expensive ones (at least to my standard) after buying for my parents, it just came like a whisper to me "why not buy one for your elder sister" trust me, when that kind of voice speaks to you, you are near defenceless against it so I had to heed the voice and bought for her also.
After mom and dad's blessing for the gift, I went to my sis, showed her the wrist watch and asked if she liked it, she admired it so much that she teased if it was for my girl and we laughed. I told her she can have it, she couldn't believe her ears that she needed confirmation.
Right there and then out of great surprise and joy she told me that she just gave out her only wrist watch to her friend who begged for it. She said that it pained her while giving it out but she had to and here she is with a better one in less than two weeks.
I still feel goose bumps to this moment whenever I remember the testimony that God actually finds a (better) replacement for whatever we give out in good course.
I have my own testimonies for giving but of all heard and experienced, this is still the shock of my life because it proves that God needs no prayers to see and reward.

Very importantly Africans really are not a giving race. We are very self centred, reason our continent is the way it is. We rarely sacrifice for ourselves. If the pastors never preached about tithing, many would not give and may not have benefited from the blessings of giving.
True bro. We rarely give and that's a major reason we are reluctant to grow.

Giving is a natural boomerang, when channeled to a divine course, it invokes the supernatural.

Most atheists prosper more than christians because the understand this law perfectly. Little wonder why in many churches today, pastors rarely live large cos they see no reason to sow when the G.O calls for it. They really believe that they should be receiving while the G.O will be making dangerous sacrifices throught alms to the needy.

The ground gave to God for the creation of the dearest creature - man, and it has been receiving everything that comes to earth.

Any sane mind would know the reason why these MOGs have Private Jets is because it satisfies their personal ego. Nothing more. All that travelling about is just bull crap. Jesus never owned any means of transport yet he travelled from region to region. The one time he was personal was on a borrowed donkey. For the rest he hitched a ride on his disciples boats.

Why's your pastor even flying round the world?! Can't he just sit one place? Or is his anointing too much that he must go distribute it?? Do you see the Archbishop of Canterbury or Pope of Vatican flying round the world now and then organising crusades and Whatnots?? Na. That's why they have priests. The priests are capable of providing for the spiritual needs of their congregation.

The Roman Catholic Church should be a yardstick for all y'all. The Pope, who's also a head of state still flies commercial. But these men of God in Nigeria with their inflated ego can't stand sharing a plane with lesser individuals.

RomanceRe: Challenging Bad Ideas: Introverts In A Loud Nigerian Society. by UJIC(m):
Trudax:
Why does an introvert need to change? Change, especially in this context, is an alteration to conform to an existing framework. So, for change to happen, there must be a direction such change needs to follow in other to arrive at a destination. And such movement is controlled by whatever initiates that change. In the case of introversion, change is initiated and controlled by the extrovert majority. The only reason an introvert needs to change is to conform to an environment that is regulated by the actions of the extrovert majority.

It's obvious that one of the reasons why Nigeria isn't moving forward is because we prioritize things of less value and stigmatize things of greater value.
A solid inviolable truth is that when the intellectual resources of a society is neglected, the society regresses. Every great development in every society has been founded upon ideas. Ideas are the vehicles that drive change. And ideas are constructed in the minds of people, and the group of people who make up a disproportionate number of the creators of ideas of lasting value, are the so called Introverts.

Believe it or not, the wealth of a country's intellectual resources are domiciled in the minds of it's introvert population. You don't agree with me? I'll prove it to you.

There have been lots of proffesional tests that have been carried out that have proven introversion to be directly correlated with high lQs. The more introverted a person is, the more intelligent the person is likely to be. The same goes for extroversion, which has been strongly correlated with low IQs. You still have doubts? Take the east Asians as an example. Lots of intelligence tests have been carried out that have proven them to be the race with the highest IQs. Studying the lifestyles of the Chinese or the Japanese, one would notice that they live very introverted lifestyles. Majority of east Asian population are introverted, confirming the claim of the positive correlation between introversion and high intelligence. Does anyone still have doubts? The next point should clear any doubt. Majority of the geniuses that have shaped our history and expedited the progress of our human species are Introverts. I am referring to the scientists, philosophers, thinkers and writers. All this validates the fact that the intellectual resources needed to move a society forward rests within the introvert population. If the introverts are indeed the smartest people, why then are they being oppressed by the intellectually inferior majority? Does anyone see a problem here?

Of course extroverts aren't without their own natural talents. Evidently extroverts appear to densely populate fields like entertainment, fashion and sports. These areas are useful, but not as useful as areas of science, technology, economics and politics that require the intellectual gifts of introverts. This is a hard truth to swallow, but it's the truth. Introverts make better critical thinkers and the better the quality of thought, the greater the quality of ideas. And ideas lead to reform and revolution.

So why then are we forcing introverts to change? Why are we creating environments that inhibit the materialization of the talents of introverts? How can we prioritize mindless talk, noisiness, overexcited gesticulation and restlessness over creating a conducive environment for creativity and ideas to emerge and flourish?
My guy, most times, many of us get the wrong perception (or accept the wrong perception others have) regarding our nature.

Most times, people misinterprete introversion as boring, uneventful and/or unexciting when it's definitely not true. An introvert does not talk about anything but give him a reason to talk about a topic and you'll be amazed that the talk about it never ends, he gives you different reasons why the topic should stay alive.

An introvert has so much strength in his own companion (he is always energetic for any task whenever he is alone or amidst people who don't talk too much, who are engrossed with something) but he always naturally gets exhausted amidst someone or people who are always talking (or causing event) just unlike the extrovert who finds so much joy and strength in every little event and tends to join them.

When an average introvert and extrovert attend a gathering that is not a social one without briefing, the introvert gets interested in the meeting because the atmosphere is calm and conducive for his brain to assimilate every event going on and he can flow with the meeting for as long as it lasts but the extrovert will, few minutes into the meeting, become greatly bored because it slows down (dulls) his brain BUT
When both of them attend a social gathering, say party, the extrovert will remain very active for as long as the party lasts because the event is in sync with his brain while the introvert will be hissing every now and then because his brain has not digested the immediate past major event and another one is showing up thereby causing his brain to be out of sync with the event thus causing him great tiredness.

We are always so calculative that we always take our time to analyse everything that should be of interest inside out before contributing and that's why whenever we come into any argument (or should I say, any analytic conversation) that is going on between extroverts, side comments like 'he has come','problem has joined', and others come up because most times, our reasons for our stand beats theirs hands down.
When in school or in the 'hood and my friends (we all know that there are more extroverts than our likes) are discoursing, I rarely contribute but I flow with it through body cues and answer rhetorical questions asked during the conversation in my mind but in a case of blind argument, I sometimes come in after the argument has lingered unnecessarily long. I don't just come in for argument's sake but for clarification so that the noise that emanates dies down for me to regain the lost strength.

Most introverts at least once in a lifetime desperately wished that he is an extrovert due to a sad/unfriendly event witnessed but it's not our fault that we are unique. I once felt like dying, like I'm cursed by being an introvert because there was something that I loved so so much and always loved being around it, I never told the owner how much I cherished it though I let my feelings towards it show but never told him, I woke up one day to hear that it was sold and I felt as if dying would be better for days. The guy was so surprised at me seeing how frustrated I looked but could do nothing because it is very difficult to bring it back. I felt like dying completely grin when he asked why I didn't tell him all those while it was around. Out of frustration I asked pretty silly questions why I am an introvert and the answers that I got helped me appreciate who I am; that I am unique. (N.B: This story was edited for personal reason)

Extroverts seem to be all over the news and all over the place because their nature demands recognition hence they are more comfortable in the sports, fashion and entertainment industry just as you said while the introverts are more comfortable in the 'indoor' logical/thinking industry. It's just like the body and the engine of a car.
The extroverts are the body (beauty) of the car and the introverts are the engine (heart) of a car. They are meant to compliment not compare each other.

The extroverts keeps us smiling (entertaining) while the introverts keeps us going (inventing).

It is often awry said that introverts are less of philanthropists than the extroverts. Introverts care so much, love so much and help so much but they prefer not ringing bells about it because they wouldn't like to respond to every mr and mrs that praises his good deeds on his way as it is always so tiring for them.

If you ever manage to become friends/lovers with an average introvert who considers you one, dear you'll definitely feel so special because even if there are thousands of reasons to leave you, there's always one reason to stay by you because, to them, a bird at hand is worth more than a million in the bush while to an average extrovert, there are many fishes in the ocean.

No one needs to change for the other but needs to appreciate and accomodate the other because it keeps the world balanced.

Being an introvert is best for an introvert while being an extrovert is best for an extrovert.

Banks refund or regain lost monies from customers moneys, it is affecting customers, so what's totally safe about that, when they claim your monies are 100% safe? You can see the metaphor?

Wait let them continuing removing unknown 150 charges monthly from your account and see the magic. Who's gaining?
Service charge is always service charge bro, if you are confused on how they charged you or they are charging you for their services, you have the right to query them and you'll be clarified and if the charge weren't clean, you seek and get your refund. It's always included in Terms and Conditions of service. And if you're no longer comfortable with the T&C, you change bank.

If a telecommunication company places an advert TALK MORE, PAY LESS. Migrate to tariff plan A and get #450 for every #150 recharge with a certain code. T&C apply. Ordinarily, #200 on your current tariff plan gives you, say 20 minutes and some seconds talk time at the rate of 15k/s and you migrate to the advertised plan and you spend 25 minutes in call with a recharge of #150 (which gives you #450) without knowing that you're being charged 30k/s. When you recharge below #150 or forget to recharge using the required code and you didn't get the #450, How long do you think the #150 will last? 8 minutes and some seconds.

Does it mean that the tarrif doesn't offer more for less? No, it's just that you forgot about the vital information, T&C.

You can't do a business without metaphorical use of English in adverts, it is part of business skills, you've to find a way to attract your customers, using metaphor in adverts has been a long time tradition in advertising and business system.

Bank will say, come bank with us and your money will be safe, we all know anything can happen and our money can lost in bank, but we trust them because of their adverts and how legally cooperate they are.

Atheist don't really believe in destiny, they believe more in coincidence that things just happen by accident and luck, since there is no certain evidence of future seeing, just some psychological and experimental prediction.

I didn't really follow you guys convo, but I think what the guy was trying to say was the engine of the plane is design to make the plane fly safely and not fall but ofcos if the engine fail or there is an interruption it can crash. So yes plane can crash but it is never design to crash.
Oh my, okay.
1) Atheists do believe in destiny, it's arguable that all don't but some atheists do.
2) Our money is always safe in banks because nothing happens in banks that can get our money lost. No matter how many robberies that occur in banks or the level of loss experienced in banks, our money can never go below what we have before and/or after the incident thereby validating their claim that our money is safe with them.

He was so confident that the aeroplane will never crash even against all odds because it has a dynamic power plant in its engines that are in perfect condition.

Using unsinkable or "even God cannot sink the Titanic ship" is a metaphor, it means the ship is well capable, protected etc. We all know it can sink if it has failures.

It is like saying Usain bolt can run fast like a moving train, we all know he can't, it is just a metaphor he's the fastest.

it finally sank because the ship hit the iceberg, if it avoided the iceberg, the ship wouldn't have sank. I've explained metaphor to you in this context.

If I sell you a balloon and said it can't be burst by anything, it is just metaphor that the balloon is original, in the market this is how people advertise their goods, like saying this glass is unbreakable, it is original.
My dear, that's not a metaphor, it's a deliberate act of over confidence perpetuated to lure customers into believing what is not true. Many companies has been sued and fined for this 'so called metaphor' when their customers found out that it was a lie, companies including but not limited to Apple, Nokia, Coca Cola and Wrigley.

So my dear, it's no metaphor, it's pure deceit.

Now, that having been said, the insinuation that drew my attention to his comment was that the plane's engine can never allow the plane to fall even if it is destined (destined was preferred because some people are atheists and most certainly will doubt the power of supernatural over it) to fall.

Na u dey use ur own hand confuse yourself
they started from rest ------> acceleration
which has already defeated the purpose.
To measure speed; especially uniform velocity discrepancies; both vehicles must hav attained
the same speedometer mark and must be side by side and no longer accelerating!
Then u start measuring distance covered with respects to time ------> i.e. speed
So I guess that settles it, that the speedometer is just a calibration, a standard while the actual speed and distance covered is wholly dependent on the car; the torque, horsepower, weight, acceleration and shape.

An intel core i7 6700 is capable of a speed of 2.8ghz; official specification from intel.
Samsung's ULV notebook may be maxed at 2.3ghz and Acer ROG may go beyond 2.8ghz while both notebooks has a core i7 6700 in them.

My guy you're assuming all factors being equal when there are not. A speedometer reads same and is accurate to the highest extent when being fitted on an even machines but its purpose really is thwarted when fitted on two uneven machines.

The distance between pole A and pole B is 12 footsteps; real fact as in standard.
The distance between pole A and pole B is 12 footsteps for mr A and 7 footsteps for mr B. Isn't it logical?

that's part of the other factors that contribute to it, but if the camry is already at 80km/h and the corola also speed to that point, the distance between them remains constant till whenever they are asked to stop, size or type of engine becomes irrelevant, because they currently have the same momentum propelling them.
where the hp, turbo etc will have effect now is this, can your engine maintain such work rate for the same period as that of the other vehicle?

See how u r posting rubbish with extreme confidence and impetus.
80km/hr is 80km/hr anywhere in the universe. . on any machine or device. ..
If i can run at 80km/hr, and a Veyron is doing 80km/hr . . . neither of us would overtake each other . . .
If you don't understand, leave it for the "Science" students who did Physics to educate you; and accept it; cos they know better
There is a difference between speed/velocity and acceleration . . .

By the definition of speed in Physics:

Corolla --> 80 kmph -----> After 1 hour, distance covered is 80km
Veyron ---> 80 kmph -----> After 1 hour distance covered is 80km

So if they started doing 80kmph from the same point . . how possible is it that one would "gap" the other (excuse my language);
seeing that they both covered the same distance/measurement of length; huh huh

By the definition of acceleration in Physics;

Corolla ----> 10 m per second squared ----> Every second (squared), the Corolla will cover 10 meters
Veyron ----> 40 m per second squared ----> Every second (squared), the Veyron will cover 45 meters

This means that, from REST ( zero speed, engine on - no movement); the Veyron will lurch forward faster
due to its bigger and better engine and will reach 80km/hr faster. But once it reaches 80km/hr and the driver
turns on cruise control (which means, "MAINTAIN THIS SPEED, DONT ADD OR SUBTRACT) . . it will not accelerate again . . .it will only cruise
called "UNIFORM VELOCITY" in Physics.
Meanwhile, the Corolla has a slower engine and outdated, will start slowly and take more time to reach 80km/hr . . . but once it reaches 80kmph . . .it will be moving with the same UNIFORM VELOCITY as the Veyron . . .

There might be slight imperfections such as engine shape, bad tires, bad driving skill, faulty odometer;
but the difference in error shouldn't be more than Plus or Minus 2s (maximum).

Well, you might not understand . . Leave it to us; IZZ AWA WORK OHHHH . . . . Physics !!!
Now my guy let's settle it, a 2k12 camry with the ability to do 80kmph in 2.1s and a 2k12 corolla that has the ability to do 80kmph in 4.7s are at rest at the same point, both set out on a journey from Anambra State to Lagos state taking off at the exact same time, both peaked at 80kmph no more acceleration or deceleration, after one hour, are both of them on the same spot?
