Love your posts.

And I agree with not being envious of other people's success and not trying to please everyone.
We grow. We grow into ourselves and that involves shedding off some excess baggage. Problem lies in recognizing what our emotional baggage are to begin with and being pliant enough to let them go.

Baaically I think it takes a lot of personal growth to become comfortable with one's self. When we can achieve that level of self-acceptance so many things will fall in place, and we can say bye bye to emotional roller coasters.

Njiri gi aka? cheesy

I'm just here to gossip about girls. cheesy

Actually I'm always on threads like this to expose the double dealing of these daughters of Eve. grin
We've known them for what they are ,so we owe it as a duty to inform our naive brothers before they learn through the hard way. grin
So when you meet a daughter of eve who's genuine, how can you tell? Do you treat her like one of the others or give her the benefit of doubt?

Your foolproof plan doesn't seem so foolproof. You lot may well be hurting yourselves more than the women you're trying to 'outsmart'.

I don't think I will ever understand the craze surrounding this sex talk.
If you want to have sex with a guy, biko do just for the sake of it and not because you want marriage or whatever the hell else there is to be bought with sex.

If you don't want sex, then biko don't for whatever reason you have-- morality, religion, self-interest, revirginization, or just because.

Then again, I get the impression this relationship thing is a game. You play your cards right and get what you want. You don't, and you may completely lose out.
And even when you don't want to treat it like a game someone out there thinks you are undecided

Messed up.

Lolz....touchy indeed!

Everything is an opinion, I guess you never weigh your words before regarding them as opinion. Not even the one you modified because it simply hypocritical. Anyway no hard feeling its a free world so go ahead make your expressions the way you like.

Just remember never to quote or reply anyone that takes a jab at your culture because you were never meant to be offended.
Pumpkin, if you weren't so quick to jump at my words you'd realize that addition was made right about the time you were typing your initial response. And yeah, it still doesn't take away from my point of view.

What's to weigh? We can't please everyone all the time.

Likewise, no hard feelings.

Oh my God, can you guys just forget about your bloody egos for once and realize that this is good foe women? We can't just whip it out like you would to take a leak you know undecided And we can't pee everywhere like you would too without fear of infection and exposing our backside undecided

It's not supposed to taunt you cry babies. It's a more convenient alternative.

Geez.

It has nothing to do with wanting to be a man. If a guy is out somewhere and there is no toilet he can go anywhere without exposing his backside, or peeing on his legs, clothes or feet. Then there are public toilets. No one wants to sit on those. Guys can stand and go. We can't. This would make life easier for us.

I don't want to be a man, but I sure wish I could pee standing up sometimes. undecided
Took the words outta me mouth kiss

I don't really blame your ignorance, it's obvious you are not Yoruba, but certainly I suggest you should be sensitive enough not to call the way of life of a people obsession.

How would you feel if any part of your own culture or traditional is painted as obsession. It is how these people live their lives, instead of you respecting it as you will desire people to respect yours, you are here insulting and making jest of them. How better and authentic are you if I may ask?
No I am not Yoruba. And unfortunately I haven't even begun to insult anyone. Having an opinion isn't particularly insulting, unless of course you'd prefer everyone walk around like zombies without the capacity for lucid thoughts.

And sure you can take a jab at my tribe or culture. I promise you I will not be offended wink

Stop being unnecessarily touchy.
CultureRe: Why Are Yoruba's Obsessed With Greeting? by UjSizzle(f): 9:05pm On May 15, 2015
Hah what about the "eku everything"? I swear it's an obsession.... cute though. During this last election I kept getting the "eku election" greeting I began doling it out too undecided

And I'm almost certain this culture of sending happy new month/week/day/life/sunday/weekend/monday etc text messages began with a Yoruba fella.

It's fine though. Now I greet everyone at least twice a day-- once on my way out, another on my way in. From the bike guy, to the abokis on the street, the woman selling roasted yam, the security guys in front of SS, cleaners, gatekeepers and even the ticketers at the bus stop. A smile, wave, nod, anything goes to acknowledge the presence of the next person.

Even if I can't speak the language, greeting is one of the perks of the Yoruba culture I seem to have assimilated quite well.

We are not out of empathy, it is because people have had bad experience(s) where someone died on the way the hospital and this caused trouble for the person who wanted to help.

There are also cases where you stop to help and you find out it is a trap where you get attacked.

People have pity but are just tied by the environment
Yes yes. This country can give you a heartache sad

FabioPeter:
Sometime ago, before motorcycles were outlawed in Benin City. I was witness to an accident where a bike rider carelessly made a u turn on an express way. The oncoming vehicle hit him so hard he was elevated forward and above the vehicle, my car was right behind but I saw it all.
The vehicle immediately took off probably for fear of been mobbed. I stopped by and at this point there were numerous onlookers doing nothing other that shake their head and watch the bleeding man. I helped, put him in my car and headed for a nearby clinic, on getting there I realised it had been shut down, the closest was a general hospital quite a distance away in a traffic zone, I had to go there. Five minutes later the accident victim started gasping and moaning it was then I realised I had taken a risk, thank God traffic wasn't terrible that day.
We got to the hospital in 10mins, at the accident ward I asked that they help take him in on a stretcher, they looked at me with stern and said it was my headache and pointed to a wheel chair that I could use. I eventually got the dying man to the emergency ward and explained but they won't have none of my story as far as they were concerned I hit him and I had to take responsibility. The man was still gasping but manage to answer when asked to narrate the accident he simply said I wasn't responsible.
At this point they let me go.
Now tell me what would have happened had this man died or was unable to speak at the hospital? Was it a good decision to hell him? These are a few reasons why we suffer an empathy deficit in Nigeria. It could have been a lot worse for me.
Wow. That's a lot to suffer just for helping someone.

I suppose the oath the doctors take... (watsitcalled, Hippocratic oath?) means nothing to them.

I've wondered about this walking/driving past someone who could need medical attention. Empathy is dead. Some people won't even cast a second glance their way, and everyday we go to church to praise God. Where's the love here eh?
