I don't see the point for an igbo forum or subsection. The Culture section already makes provisions for all ethnic groups in Nigeria and we have managed to coexist in this so far.

So what again is the new sub)section supposed to achieve?

In what way(s) will it be beneficial to the admin of this forum? (seriously you don't hope you sell a product if you can't market it right).

How does it help the igbo community at large?
I may not be very active in this section, but the few times I come by, there isn't much going on (in the past there was, but not anymore) except when a controversial topic has been raised.

Let's also not forget that even if the admin decides to grant this request (which I doubt will happen), other major ethnic groups will want the same too. Honestly the nuisance factor isn't worth it.

If this section is created, what are the possibilities of igbo forumites keeping us engaged in it? As it is the culture section isn't even generating enough traffic


All round this makes no sense (sorry). From the view point of the admin and members attention span, it's just not a viable project.

I don't understand the compulsion to fight either lol. When someone ends a topic with "let the bashing begin", I wonder what that's about. When someone else quotes you and begin a response (to a question that wasn't asked I might add) with an insult, I wonder what's all about too. And when some of these guys borrow a female-bashing page from 190-the-clown's book, I wonder if they actually realize their mentor is a clown.
I just don't understand the people I've had to read here for a while, so I've moved from reading anything sensible on NL to reading them on random blogs off the site and once in a while in the diary section.

The one thing keeping me on this site is a strange loyalty I've developed for it (same reason I refused to leave Nokia ). Content-wise, there's little to offer. And honestly, it's way beyond this section.

@Xynerise. Hmmm I gave up on this section when people decided throwing blames around was more important than intelligent discussions and/or finding reasonable solutions to problems.
It's safe to say a new generation's here now and there's little or nothing anyone can do to change that. If the mods can go all Sexkillz on their assses, that will help-- It's also going to be one helluva job to sanitize this section though. Otherwise we can let the people have their fun like they want to and pretend this place didn't use to be any different
